A Meet-Cute Christmas
Pairing: Kim Wonpil x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: a very fluffy start to this series!
Word count: 489
You teetered dangerously, letting out a breath of relief when you managed to remain upright. The ice was thick and slippery due to the lack of morning sun to melt it away. It was the first time you had ventured outside in days, and it seemed as if winter was truly here now.
As was Christmas.
Half the reason you had slipped just now was from being distracted by the display in the window of a small chocolatier. The seasons’ greetings bundles and peppermint brittle candy had caught your eye and broken your focus on where was best to place your feet next. Grateful that you hadn’t slipped over, you continued your walk to the grocers just down the road. After an uneventful trip there, you turned for home, once more peering over at the delicious treats in the window of the handmade sweets store.
You noticed someone else stop and do the same, sharing a small smile with him.
“They do look like they’ll taste good.”
“They definitely do,” you agreed with the polite stranger, whose smile brightened. You stared at his face then, entranced.
It all happened too fast after that moment.
You had gone to step towards the store he gestured at whilst he went to go around you. However, the ice was still precarious in this spot. You began to slip right as his feet started to move as if they were skating on the spot, both of you instinctively reaching out for the other. Your groceries, slung over your arm, collided into his side as you gripped onto his thick coat, his actions mirroring yours.
And once you had both regained your footing, you glanced at the man who held your waist, and you started to laugh.
“I can’t believe how movie-like that moment was!” he gushed at the end of his chuckle. “I never thought people actually slipped that dramatically on ice.”
“Well, I did slip here before. I should have been more careful knowing what happened previously when I came this way.”
“I’m glad I was here to rescue you then,” he offered with another bright smile, and you grinned back at him.
“I’m sure I also rescued you.”
“I wonder if it’s safe to enter this store then, given how you’ve had two almost-incidents here.”
You glanced at the peppermint brittle and then back at him, realising he was still holding you close. It almost made you laugh when you took note of his scent, he smelt just like Christmas cookies.
This truly did feel like the start to a Christmas meet-cute movie.
“If we move together, perhaps we’ll find the delicious treats are worth our while.”
“Well, they do serve hot cocoa by the looks of things,” he mused, holding out his hand. “I’m Wonpil.”
“Y/N.”
“Shall we get to know one another over Christmas treats and cocoa? I can’t help but think this meeting was destined by Santa himself.”

Unwrap Me
Pairing: Bang Chan x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: mildly suggestive
Word count: 494
“Another one?!” you breathed incredulously, staring at Chan across the room. It seemed as if every time you had seen him this winter that he had a new sweater on. Sure, it was cold outside, and most people were layering up in their woollens. It wasn’t as if he was the only one wearing them. But for you, it was all you could focus on when you were in his company.
Bang Chan was born to wear sweaters, you had decided earlier in the week, and this baby blue oversized number only confirmed the notion. It looked super comfortable and soft, and you wondered how it would feel wrapped around you.
Blinking rapidly, you turned away to cool down the flame of colour to your cheeks.
Your fantasies over your crush only seemed to increase lately. You needed to find a reprieve from them, or at least, stop hanging out at the coffee shop Chan and his friends met in often.
However, you had been frequenting this place a whole lot longer than they had and felt it was your hangout first. This was what you told yourself every time you tried to tell yourself to leave and stop drooling into your peppermint mocha over Chan and his boyfriend sweaters.
You knew deep down that you still came over winter break to this place each day in hopes to see Chan. It was that simple. The sweaters were simply a bonus.
“Y/N?” a familiar voice said, and you blinked out of your internal debate and stared deer-struck up at Jisung. “Why don’t you come and join us instead of sitting here alone.”
“Oh, I couldn’t.”
“Come on!” he encouraged as he picked up your drink and dragged you over to their booth. You had to scoot along the seat so Jisung could fit too and it was at that moment when you realised what happened.
The sweater was incredibly soft against your side. Staring up at Chan looking a little lost, he grinned down at you. “Comfortable, Y/N?”
“Very,” you instantly replied, reaching quickly for your drink to distract yourself. However, your hand shook and the beverage spilled onto Chan’s sweater. Gasping, you looked at your path of destruction.
“Hang on guys, I’ll need to go clean this,” Chan said, gesturing to you to move so he could get out.
You followed him to the restroom and waited until he returned. Seeing you there surprised him, but it wasn’t long until Chan grinned. “You know, if you wanted to get me out of my sweater, there are other ways we could go about it.”
“W-What?” you squeaked as Chan winked at you and slung his arm around your shoulder.
“You know, you could unwrap me anytime. With Christmas coming, maybe I should put a bow on next time.”
“Should I be mortified or hopeful?” you asked, and Chan chuckled.
“It’s up to you if you want to take the bow off or not, Y/N.”

The Brightest Lights
Pairing: Byun Baekhyun x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Word count: 478
“Baekhyun!” you exclaimed, your eyes growing wide. “What is – this is too much!”
“There’s no such thing as too much at Christmas time!”
You had sent your husband out to the store to get some butter for the cookies you needed to bake for your daughter’s Christmas party tomorrow at kindergarten. Instead, he returned with what appeared to be the entire festive lights section from the department store.
Baekhyun shot you a wide grin whilst you searched through the car.
“The butter?” you questioned, and Baekhyun’s expression morphed to one of forgetfulness. You gasped noisily. “Byun Baekhyun, I specifically-”
“Will two do?” he offered, producing a small bag from the back seat of the car. “See, I’m an efficient man. I got what you need to whip up a batch of cookies whilst I create some magic out here. Old Bob across the road won’t know what hit him when he looks out his windows tonight!”
“You have enough lights here to brighten the entire neighbourhood’s view, let alone just Bob’s.”
Baekhyun shot you a wink. “I know. This is going to be epic!”
You didn’t see Baekhyun until you were almost about to serve up dinner, the man flinging open the back door and coming to a halt beside your daughter. She jumped off her chair at the table. “Daddy is it ready?!”
“Oh, you bet it is! Should we go turn them on now?”
You shook your head. “It’s not dark out. You’ll be disappointed if you turn them on and it’s not as effective.”
“Mummy’s right,” Baekhyun agreed, trying to deflect the disappointment of the young child. “We’ll have dinner, sneak a cookie or two for dessert, and then the magic of Christmas will light up on our front yard.”
 ----
Baekhyun stood beside the outside fuse box with bated breath. “Are my girls ready?!”
“YES!”
“Just hurry up and turn them on, I want to go inside. It’s too cold,” you added, noticing all the other houses in the street had already switched their Christmas lights on.
Baekhyun flipped the switch and then jogged over to your side, watching as your entire front lawn morphed into the North Pole. There were blinking lights everywhere, and it was so bright, you almost needed sunglasses.
You had to admit it was beautiful. But, you still thought it was excessive.
And so did the power supply. They were barely on for five minutes before you heard a noise, and the house next to you fell into darkness. One by one, each house in the street shut off, only your house now lighting up the night. And with a startled cry from Baekhyun, yours too became pitch black.
“What happened, Daddy?!”
You smirked. “Well, I did say this was excessive. And look, here comes Bob, Baek. I guess he knows what hit him, and the whole neighbourhood too.”

Prized Possession
Pairing: Kim Myungjun (MJ) x female reader (ASTRO)
Genre: christmas au
Word count: 472
“Oh, here you are,” you mentioned with a bright smile and Myungjun looked up to stare at you curiously. Holding out a gift bag, you shook it. “Merry Christmas!”
“Wait, what?”
“What you do you mean, what? It’s a gift for you, silly!”
“For me? Why?”
“Why not? It’s the season for giving!”
“Did you give one to everyone else?”
You frowned. “Well, only to Cece, but she’s my best friend.”
“Then why are you giving this to me?”
“You’ve helped me study all year and been a good friend to me, so I thought it would be nice to give you something to say thanks. Oh! Do you not celebrate Christmas?! I didn’t even stop to think that-”
Taking the gift bag from your hand, Myungjun stood up. “Thank you.”
It wasn’t that he was embarrassed to receive the gift, though, with his hasty departure, he was pretty sure you would think so. Myungjun hadn’t known how to feel at the time. He was overwhelmed, to say the least. He’d never received a gift from anyone outside of his family before, so it was a foreign concept. The whole concept was new to him.
Once home, he opened up the bag and peered inside. It was a crocheted scarf, and he could tell you had made it. That only made things feel simultaneously better and worse. What could he make for you that would match something like this? Wrapping it around his neck, he marvelled at your creation, grinning at his appearance in the mirror.
He liked it a lot.
So much so, that he wore it to lectures the next day. And every day after that. Two years went by, and as soon as the air turned chilly, Myungjun would reach for that scarf immediately.
You shook your head, poking a hole at the sagging corner of the scarf. From washing it, some of the loops had snagged, and it had seen better days. “You need to stop wearing this.”
“No way. You gave it to me.”
“So, I’ll give you another scarf to replace this,” you offered, but Myungjun shook his head, stepping away from you. “Why won’t you give it up?”
“It’s the first gift I’ve ever received from someone I like,” he admitted, and your eyes grew round. Chuckling with the change in atmosphere, Myungjun tightened the scarf around his neck. “It’s my most prized possession.”
“Really?”
“Mm.”
“No, I mean, you really like me?”
“Should I not?”
“Truth be told, I crocheted it to distract myself from my feelings for you. When it was done, I didn’t know what to do with it, so I gave it to you.”
“You crafted this whilst thinking about me?”
You smiled shyly. “Yeah.”
“Then you won’t ever get this off of me. Not until the last thread gives out.”

Their Parents’ Wish
Pairing: Kim Namjoon x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Word count: 497
“Ah,” Namjoon said with a chuckle as he sat down across from you.
It had finally happened. You should have seen it long before the moment when he walked through the bistro’s entrance. You had fallen trap for your parents’ wishes, after all.
You had lived next door to Namjoon for five years now. You were both close enough to be seen as friendly neighbours, but nothing more than that. There had been a couple of times where you had shared a meal before or had a drink together when your day had been rotten, but neither of you had stepped past that point.
Despite both sets of parents wishing for you to.
“Should we go?” you wondered, and Namjoon shook his head immediately. You smiled. “You do know if we stay here, it’s considered a date.”
“Our parents will be thrilled, won’t they?”
You grinned, peering around. “I’m amazed they’re not hiding away in a corner watching on with glee.”
Of course, you understood why your parents were vying for Namjoon as your next partner. He had all the traits in a man that made him the ultimate catch. He took good care of your parents and had charmed them both. Apparently, you had done much in the same towards his. Yet, the idea of dating Namjoon had never been one you wished to push.
“They want this Christmas Eve to be where we fall helplessly in love with one another over this candlelit dinner,” Namjoon commented with humour laced in his tone.
Yet his eyes didn’t match the dimpled smile. They lingered, far too long, too hopeful. And as you stared back, you found yourself falling.
----
“It’s the same table,” you mentioned with a fond smile and Namjoon nodded, helping you into a chair before sitting across from you.
You watched as the lights danced across the walls nearby, enchanted by the romance of it all.
This past year had been full of it.
It was rather ironic, you thought. A year ago, you had simply believed you would share a quaint meal with your neighbour and then go home, curl up on your couch watching a Christmas movie.
You hadn’t even gone home that night, finding yourself across the hallway entangled in Namjoon on Christmas morning.
And over the next few months, you had fallen deeply in love.
“It’s not entirely the same,” Namjoon mentioned, lifting a hand in greeting to the set of parents seated in a booth down the room. He then leaned across the table to you. “We’re being chaperoned this year.”
“Maybe we should have last year, and then I wouldn’t have ended up pressed against your front door,” you mused, and Namjoon laughed.
“I’m sure you wanted that more than me, Y/N.”
“All those years we told our parents no, and then one Christmas Eve, we ended up here.”
“They were right.”
“Should we let them have all the glory?”
“Definitely. Their plans led to me falling for you.”

Wrapping Confessions
Pairing: Kim Woosung x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: none
Word count: 489
“Oh, hello again!”
“Hey!” he greeted with a broad smile, distracting you from why he was visiting. Clarity returned, and you hastily reached for a sheet of wrapping paper.
It wasn’t unusual for patrons over the Christmas season to return to the gift wrapping station as they gathered new presents for their loved ones. However, the handsome stranger had appeared over the last two days at the same time.
“How’s your day been?” he asked a moment later, and you paused at folding the end of the paper inward against the boxed vase he had bought over to be wrapped.
“I guess the highlight has been executing a perfect folding job on an oversized item earlier.”
“I bet that’s why you apply to do a job like this, right? To see how perfect you can wrap an item?”
“It does satisfy the workers in this booth, yeah.”
Sadly you only had one more corner to tape down, and then your gift wrapping services would be done. And with the line forming behind him, you didn’t have much opportunity to continue the small talk.
He seemed disheartened when you handed the present back over. “Well, have a good day, Y/N.”
“How do you--?!” You realised your name badge after the fact and tried to cool down the heat radiating to your cheeks before the next person stepped forward with their presents for wrapping.
 ----
Every day around the same time, he would appear at the wrapping booth, holding just one item each time. At first, it infuriated you. If he brought along more, you could actually spend some time conversing. However, you realised you liked that he turned up daily and found yourself awaiting his arrival, smiling immediately when you saw him.
You were even on a first-name basis with him now. “Hey Woosung! What am I wrapping today?”
Placing down a plastic set of bowling pins and balls, he quirked an eyebrow. “Reckon this will be hard to wrap?”
“What do you even need with something like this?” you laughed, ripping off a piece of paper and setting to work.
Woosung was unnaturally quieter today, and you tried to read his expression. When you reached for some tape, he finally spoke.
“Tomorrow is Christmas Day. You won’t be here after that.”
You took off too much tape and jarringly threw it in the bin, reaching for a more suitable amount. “Well, no.”
“I thought I would have asked you by now.”
“Asked me what?”
“I bought random things just to stop by here each day.” You gaped at Woosung and pointed at the package. He chuckled. “Yeah, I have no one to give it to.”
“Then why buy it?!”
“I wanted to see you. And I still want to after Christmas too somehow.”
“I finish in an hour. Reckon you can give me more than the amount of time it takes me to wrap a present in your company then?”

More Than A Tree
Pairing: Cha Hakyeon x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: none
Word count: 466
It was that time of year again, and as you smiled in greeting to some of your colleagues, you attempted to not look in the direction of Hakyeon’s cubicle.
You weren’t quite ready to face the decorations you knew would be there just yet.
It wasn’t that you had a thing against Christmas decorations. They had their place, and you could appreciate them after December first. However, it was an entire month before that and, you knew without fail, the tinsel, fairy lights and elves would have found their spots around his space by now.
And it bugged you entirely.
It was November first! Surely Hakyeon could wait just one more month before bringing in the North Pole. Or at least, keep it at home until December rolled around. Then he would be happy with it at his place, and you wouldn’t have to catch the sparkling lights in your peripheral due to how your desk was angled towards his.
However, after stealing a glance, you didn’t find Santa’s elves or lights or tinsel at all. You blinked, relieved that Hakyeon hadn’t arrived early today to decorate like usual. You hoped that this year, given how off it had been for most people, that he’d save the Christmas cheer for December.
Smiling easily, you continued the short distance towards your desk.
And then halted in your tracks.
You saw tinsel. Lights were flashing all around. And was that a miniature tree?!
“What have you done?” you breathed, your nostrils flaring with your rising emotions. Your co-worker beamed at you proudly.
You decided Hakyeon wouldn’t make any nice list this year. You’d have words with Santa yourself.
“I thought I’d bring the Christmas spirit to you early. Maybe it’ll help you remove some of that anger you have for festive cheer outside of December.”
“Oh, did you? How gracious of you.”
“You have to admit, it looks great.”
“It looks like I’ll be moving cubicles immediately if you don’t remove it all now,” you corrected with a strained tone.
Hakyeon’s smile faded. “No?”
“No.”
“Not even the tree?”
“Definitely not the tree,” you agreed, and Hakyeon pouted dramatically.
“But I placed a present under it for you,” he said dejectedly. “Fine. I’ll be back in ten minutes to remove it.”
“Make it five!” you called after him, though your curiosity was piqued. Slipping into your cubicle, you stealthily reached for the envelope propped against the tree base.
Opening it, you read over the note and smiled.
You might not like Christmas as much as I do, but I hope you’ll be my date this Christmas season. Maybe you’ll like me more than Christmas by the time Santa comes.
Glancing at your desk as you grew giddy; you looked at the décor again.
Maybe the tree could stay.

Christmas Charm
Pairing: Lee Jungshin x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: none
Word count: 495
It wasn’t like you to be running late for anything, most importantly, a client meeting. However, this morning had been the worst. The heating in your apartment building had cut out overnight, lending you a restless sleep as you shivered under your blankets. You then slept through your alarm, and by the time you were half-done with your shower, you realised you had washed your hair with your body wash by accident. You were ready to cancel the entire day, but you had worked on this project for two months now, and you wanted to see it through to fruition.
You were convinced your mood would improve once you had some caffeine in your system. After lining up for your preferred brew of choice, you then dashed for the exit, flinging the door open and misjudged the step entirely.
Thankfully someone was there to catch you before you fell. Unfortunately for them, they also wore half your drink over their woollen coat.
You couldn’t even pretend this was okay. Raising your hands to the heavens, you screeched incoherently for a second before taking a deep breath and sent an apologetic look at the tall man before you. “I’m so sorry. My day has been absolutely horrible, and you’ve collided with my bad luck. Here’s my business card. Please send me details of the dry-cleaning costs.”
Reaching down to collect your bag that surprisingly came away unscathed, you went to step around the man.
He held out your takeout cup. “What about your drink?”
“Honestly, I don’t think the universe wants me to have any simple pleasures in life today,” you remarked, nodding your head in farewell and hurried down the wintry sidewalk to the closest subway station.
You felt more composed by the time you reached the predetermined location for your meeting. Lee Jungshin was the curator of a music school that your company wanted to work alongside for a Christmas concert. Although you had spoken several times over the phone, you had yet to meet in person.
He had arrived before you, and you entered the room, plastering a smile across your lips. “Mr Lee, it’s so nice to--”
“It was you,” he mentioned with a small twitch to his lips as he turned to face you, holding out a takeout coffee cup. Although he was now sans the woollen coat, the man before you was the one you bumped into earlier.
Letting out a groan, you collapsed into the closest chair. “I should have known.”
“Hey, it’s not all that bad. First impressions count for something.”
“Mine was awful, though!”
Jungshin shook his head, despite his smile itching to spread across his lips. “I actually found you rather charming. Especially the part where you screamed at the heavens.”
“Can’t we just erase that from our memories?”
“It depends on how well you can wow me today, Y/N. Let’s see if we can change that bad luck of yours into something more promising too.”

The Missing Stocking
Pairing: Im Jaebum x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Word count: 495
This year, Christmas was something you were really looking forward to. Not that you hadn’t on other years, but this time, it would be your first one spending the festive season with your boyfriend Jaebum. You wanted to learn all about how Christmas was for him, and show him a little of how you enjoyed it too. You had romantic notions of curling up together on the couch and watching movies, fighting over who got the bigger candy cane, cooking and eating and breathing in the same festive air. You wanted every adorable Christmas movie happening to be your world. Everything fluffy, domestic and romantic was on your bucket list for this December.
And for the most part, it had been just that. You sung Christmas songs obnoxiously at one another, decorated the tree, strung up lights around his apartment and baked gingerbread people together. You were steadily checking off the list in your mind of what made Christmas special when you could share it with someone you loved.
Staring at the mantelpiece, however, you counted the stockings hanging there once more. One, two, three, four, five, six… where was the seventh one?
Your one.
“Jaebs.”
“Yeah, babe?”
“Why are there six stockings?”
“Well, one for me, and one each for the cats.”
“Yes, that makes complete sense,” you agreed, nodding along. “But where’s mine?”
“Oh.”
“Mm, oh.”
Darting his focus between you and then the stockings, Jaebum laughed first. “It’s not a big deal.”
“Isn’t it?”
Then he tried explaining. “I’m so used to hanging these out that I didn’t think to hang you one too. Don’t you have one at home?”
Finally, he offered a resolution. “Let’s get you one if you don’t and then we can hang it here together. Look, I’ll even move Nora’s along so we can put yours next to mine, how about that?”
“Is this what it’s truly like to be dating a cat person? Wow, now I know where I stand.”
“Y/N, it’s just a stocking!”
“And I guess its just another time of year, no need to get so caught up in it.”
“Don’t be like this. It was an easy mistake.”
You hadn’t watched enough Christmas movies with cat people in them to know what would happen in this situation.
“I just wanted this Christmas to be like no other.”
“And it is. I’m normally lonely this time of year. But this time, I have you.”
“You got me in my weakness!” you exclaimed, and Jaebum grinned.
“Winning you over with sentimental and loving sentences like they do in all the Christmas movies you watch?”
“You figured me out?”
“How about instead of basing what we do off movies, we enjoy ourselves this Christmas?” Jaebum offered, pulling you into his arms. “Oh, and let’s make sure you have a stocking before we go to bed tonight. I don’t want any spirits of Christmas to come for me in the future about our first Christmas together.”

When’s Present Time?
Pairing: Song Mingi x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: none
Word count: 494
You blinked several times before frowning. “What?”
“It’s not Christmas yet, Y/N!” Mingi mentioned with a chuckle, but this didn’t ease your mood. “Why are you looking at me like that still?”
“It’s Christmas Eve.”
“I know, and tomorrow is only a sleep away.”
“You don’t open any presents today?”
Mingi shook his head loosely. “No, why would I? It’s not Christmas.”
“Really?”
“Of course. Do you open presents before Christmas day?”
“Every year,” you announced and Mingi’s mouth fell ajar slightly. You smiled bashfully. “I thought everyone opened presents on Christmas Eve.”
“Well, that makes absolutely no sense. Santa hasn’t even been by then!”
You snorted. “You and I are both a little too old to believe in Santa still, don’t you think?”
“Even as a child, you opened all your presents on Christmas Eve, though?”
“To be fair, my family never told us about a jolly man coming down our chimney. I guess that’s why I never felt I missed out on anything when there was no present from Santa. I had friends who would open their presents on Christmas Eve who did believe in Santa. They would simply open his present the following day.”
“I just don’t get it, Christmas morning is when you open the presents. We’d wake up at the crack of dawn and sneak in and out of our parents’ room until we heard them stir and then beg them to wake up so we could open the presents under the tree.”
You stared in disbelief. “We’d always open our presents on Christmas Eve after dinner. I couldn’t imagine a morning opening!”
“Well, what do we do now?” Mingi wondered, looking towards the Christmas tree.
It seemed unfathomable to him to change his tradition and open all the presents you had gifted him before the twenty-fifth. Yet this whole debate stemmed from you announcing that it was time to open the presents in the first place.
You had your own tradition too.
For a moment, you were thoughtful, and then you smiled, raising your index finger in answer. “I have it!”
“What do you suggest?”
“You open one present tonight,” you stated, and Mingi sighed. “And, to match, I’ll open one present tomorrow.”
“We have more than one present from each other, Y/N.”
“Well, for the others, we’ll leave them for the time we each enjoy most.”
Mingi laughed. “Did you come up with this so you could open presents right now?”
“Whilst I admit, it’s a good deal for me, it does solve our disagreement over when is the right time to open our presents, doesn’t it?”
“I like that,” Mingi agreed, pulling you into his arms. “And I like you.”
“You ought to. I’ve got you some really nice gifts this year. I guess, aside from one of them, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.”
“I’m looking forward to you singing my praises all night now,” he teased, handing you the first present.

Tolerance
Pairing: Lee Minhyuk (Monsta X) x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: could be seen to be a little suggestive?Â
Word count: 497
“Are you kidding me?” you grumbled under your breath, pasting a smile onto your lips as a customer crossed passed the booth you worked in. Once they were gone, you turned to your co-worker and let out a huff of air. “It’s playing Let It Snow, again!”
“It really bothers you,” she mused, and you rolled your eyes. “Welcome to the life of retail workers. Since November we’ve heard these tunes. Why does it bother you so much now? It’s December, Y/N, it is expected now!”
“But for the second time today?!” you countered, shaking your head as you checked stock inventory. “Surely you’re sick of the same music too.”
“It doesn’t annoy me as much as youuuu,” she answered in sing-song, even humming the tune to the music playing around the department store.
Cursing inwardly, you busied yourself with replenishing empty spots in the display cabinet. Two songs went by before another Christmas tune merrily made its way around.
“Why would I want to have a Merry Little Christmas, when I’m going mad from all this music?!” you exclaimed to the ceiling dramatically, groaning thereafter. “I swear, management is doing this just to mess with us! Can’t they tell they’re driving their staff to the end of their ropes? I pray I can last the Christmas rush if I have to hear Mariah Carey one more time in my shift today!”
“You have to admit that at least the Michael Bublé songs aren’t all that bad.”
Shifting around, your mouth fell ajar as the man before you chuckled. He leaned onto the counter comfortably. “I happen to like when his songs come on.”
“Mr Lee,” you breathed awkwardly, bowing apologetically. “I’m sorry you had to hear that.”
“Don’t be,” he replied, still amused. “It’s nice to hear the honesty of my workers. Should I go up to the office and ask Carol to change the playlist so you can relax?”
“Oh no, please don’t!” you gushed, now mortified.
Lee Minhyuk, your boss, was someone you admired a little too much. He was efficient and friendly, and looked amazing in a suit too. His waistcoat today was especially attractive, and you scolded yourself for swooning over him after being caught in such a predicament. You really had problems, further than Christmas songs this December.
Minhyuk was still grinning from the interaction. “I can’t have one of my star team members this upset though, Y/N. What can I do to make retail life easier for you this Christmas?”
“A date,” you blurted out, shaking your head instantly. “I’m joking! Ha ha-”
“Done deal,” he murmured, leaning in closer to you. “Just don’t go telling other departments, they’re all asking for bonuses. If word gets out, they could date their boss instead, they might ask for more in their bonus to avoid the option.”
“I’d rather the date than a bonus,” you confidently told him, and Minhyuk winked.
“We’ll see what Santa delivers this year for your tolerance, Y/N.”

A Big Reaction
Pairing: Kim Jaehyun x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: none
Word count: 478
“What are you making?” Jaehyun wondered, leaning over your shoulder to see why you suddenly hid your creation under a throw cushion. “Is it for me?!”
“You’ll have to wait until Christmas to find out!”
Except, when Christmas finally arrived, and he opened up his gift, Jaehyun felt mixed emotions. It wasn’t that he couldn’t appreciate what you had made. As he stared down into the box, he could see the intricate details and loved the colours you had chosen.
He just couldn’t ever wear it.
“Do you like it?” you prompted, and blinking away from his thoughts, Jaehyun attempted to paste a satisfied smile upon his face. You saw through it, however. Shoulders slumping, you deflated. “You don’t?”
“No, I love it!”
“I just saw your reaction. Next time, let’s not make presents for each other. I’ll buy you something from-”
“I want to love it, Y/N, I really do. I just can’t wear it.”
You blinked in confusion. “Why not?”
“I’m allergic to wool,” he admitted, and you gasped noisily. “So as much as I’m in awe of this sweater, and can see all the effort and love you stitched into it, I’ll end up in hives if I put it on.”
“Oh my God, I’m a fool! Why didn’t I ask you if you could wear wool or not? I could have adjusted the type of yarn I used had I known!”
“You’re not a fool,” he corrected, placing down the box and pulling you into his arms. “You made something amazing for me, and I feel awful that I can’t wear it. It must have taken you days of constant effort to make this. Weeks even!”
“It doesn’t matter how long I’m just glad you didn’t put it on to please me. Your poor skin would hate me!”
“Should I? So you could at least see if it fitted? I’ve got a turtleneck on right now, so it won’t hurt to try it on!” Leaping up, he reached for the sweater before you could dismiss the idea, slipping it on over his head.
And then you began to laugh hysterically.
Glancing down at the way the garment hung on him, and shoving up the sleeves so he could protect his hands, Jaehyun tried to model it for you without joining you in the laughing fit you were having.
Except, it was hard to model something so unbelievably large for him.
“Wow, I really overshot the mark on this one,” you managed to squeak out, gesturing for him to take it off.
“Maybe you made it big enough for us to use together?” Jaehyun offered, coming over to snuggle you up inside it with him. The neckline was v-shaped, allowing plenty of space for your head to pop out the top too. He grinned. “You know, this is worth coming out in a rash for.”

Idol Advent - Day 6
For the first twenty-five days of December we will be opening up a door on the Idol Advent tree to see who is behind it and waiting with a drabble to share!
To find out who is there for Day 6, click the keep reading!
Pairing: Lee Seunggi x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: none
Word count: 460
Rolling over as soon as he grew alert to Christmas morning arriving, Seunggi smiled lazily as his hands blindly roamed the bedding for you. His search, soon coming up empty, led to him opening his eyes and blinking with confusion.
Where were you?
Padding out into the kitchen, Seunggi’s yawn was stifled back with amazement. There you were in front of the oven, basting the turkey with a concentrating expression over your face.
“Babe?” he said, and you barely lifted your gaze from the large bird to shoot him a genuine smile. Walking over to your side, Seunggi then peered at the clock on the oven. “It’s not even seven yet.”
“I know, but my mother always got up early when I was a kid to start on Christmas lunch just like this. She was up before Santa even left, I’m sure of it!” you answered, sounding far too stressed already.
Seunggi knew it was a big deal to be hosting Christmas for the first time, but he hadn’t realised just how important it was to you. Normally on Christmas morning, you weren’t one to leave bed before nine, and he could tell you had been up for some time now.
Watching, as you placed the turkey back into the oven to cook, you then wiped your hands on your apron and moved towards a mixing bowl.
“Y/N,” he called out, and you turned again, now flustered. “It’s Christmas.”
“I know, and I have so much to do! I don’t know if I can really rely on my Aunt to bring enough dessert so I thought maybe I could whip up a cake to slice up with ice-cream for those who don’t like traditional pudding. And then-”
“Breathe,” he instructed as he pulled you into his arms, rubbing your back gently. “You don’t have to do everything alone.”
“I want this Christmas to go the way it does when Mum’s in charge. Since she’s unwell and can’t take on this task, I have to.”
“It’s going to be fine,” he assured, and you stared up at your husband worriedly. Easing your stress lines on your temples, Seunggi then placed a kiss there. “I’ll help you.”
“Great! Could you-”
“In an hour.”
“What?! Why an hour?!” you exclaimed, growing panicked once more.
Taking your hand, Seunggi led you over to the couch and pulled you down into his arms. You resisted the embrace momentarily before sinking into it.
“Oh. This feels really nice,” you admitted, resting your head on his shoulder.
“I thought you might appreciate a calmer start to your day. Let’s enjoy some time together before we get busy in the kitchen. I promise everything will go swimmingly.”
“You think so?”
Seunggi nodded. “Oh, and Y/N?”
“Mm?”
“Merry Christmas.”

Confessions In A Christmas Card
Pairing: Moon Taeil x female reader (NCT)
Genre: christmas au
Word count: 497
It had taken you all year long to scrape together enough courage to confess your feelings for Taeil. Christmas was almost upon you, and you had foolishly told your parents that you were dating. Not only did you need to admit to Taeil that you liked him, but it had to turn out successful also.
It was too much pressure, and you only had yourself to blame.
So, to end all the stuttering and quick change of direction of the topic that was your current attempts thus far, you wrote him a letter. At first, you felt juvenile doing so. You were no longer in high school, and that was the last time you had written a love letter.
Yet, it had worked to your advantage, so you hoped you would be lucky again.
Once you were satisfied with your attempts, you placed it on Taeil’s desk and waited anxiously for a response.
By lunchtime, you had noticed the envelope sat on top of a stack of the month-end files and hadn’t been touched. You took a peek in the afternoon when you returned from a toilet break and found the letter was no longer there.
Nor was the stack of files.
Had Taeil seen it, and placed it with his belongings? Or had he…
Oh no.
You sourced out the stack of files, but it was like a cat and mouse chase. No one could give you a straight answer, and by the time your shift was over, you were exhausted and anxious.
You didn’t know how many eyes had read your letter by now.
Taeil appeared then, looking you over hesitantly. He smiled when you caught his gaze. “Oh, finished for the day, are you, Y/N?”
“Yeah, I am.” You lurched forward, only to rock back on your heels. “Did you, uh, see an envelope on your desk today?”
“An envelope?” he repeated and then shook his head. “Did you?”
“Me? I’ve been busy handing out the sales reports. Are you sure you didn’t find one for you? Addressed to you?”
“Nothing.”
“Oh, great,” you moaned suddenly and then glanced up at the man. “It’s gone.”
“So is what I was hoping you’d find today. I should have just told you.”
“Told me what?”
“That I like you,” he admitted with a chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. “I stupidly wrote you a confession in a Christmas card.”
“Y-You did?” Blinking rapidly, you stepped closer. “I did too!”
“What?”
“That’s what I’ve been looking for all day. It was on your desk before lunch-”
“Kun came and took the files from my desk at one.”
“And I’ve been trying to chase it ever since!”
“We both tried to confess to the other, but failed.”
“Well, not really. I just told you.”
Taeil grinned. “And I did too. We might not know where the letters have gone, but reckon we could go for dinner tonight?”
“That’s the result I was hoping for all day long.”

Winter Enchantment
Pairing: Choi Yeonjun x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Word count: 487
Yeonjun had never seen someone so entranced by the snow as you were now. You had warned him that winter was your favourite season because of the snow, but he had assumed that might be because you participate in winter activities like skiing or sledding.
You did neither, and the longer the white flakes flurried to the ground, the more intriguing you became to him.
He hadn’t dated someone so affected by the weather before, and it made him stop and focus too. The wind blowing everything in its path wasn’t just an annoyance anymore. Witnessing you crouching down to protect a budding flower from the harshness of a gale felt maddening at the time. Why did he long to see your gentleness towards nature again, though? Over the summer, what was it about the sun you liked the most? You would play with reflections often, causing Yeonjun to stare at the prisms of colour bouncing around.  And when autumn arrived, why did the rain fall as it did? Why did its rhythm on the rooftop calm him?
Snow, however, was cold and wet and he didn’t enjoy it much. Yet here you were watching it intently through the windowpane as you drank your hot cocoa. You were mesmerised as he was with you. But what about it garnered your heart?
Cup soon abandoned, you went to the front door.
“It’s cold out, Y/N.”
“I have my coat,” you called back, the sounds of you slipping into it and zipping it up heard.
And then you were gone. To wander. To wonder.
Yeonjun forgot about his drink as he watched you. There was no rhyme or reason to how you frolicked around. Sometimes, you appeared childlike, dashing about as one would in a snowball fight. Then you would grow still, angling your head to the heavens and allowing the snow to land upon your face. You looked so peaceful, so angelic to him.
A desire within him grew. How could he adore someone more than you? It was as if you were sent to his side to remind him to slow down from his crazy lifestyle and breathe. As you stood with arms outstretched at the full mercy of mother nature, Yeonjun hurried to fetch his coat. He stepped outside and fastened his scarf tightly to aid against the chill and then marched over to your side.
You looked at him then, overwhelmed with joy. “Do you love the snow, Yeonjun? It’s beautiful.”
“I wonder if this moment could become greater,” he murmured, glancing at the sky momentarily before kissing you softly. When he pulled back, you stared at him curiously. “You love the snow so much I wondered if you would love kissing in it as well.”
Slinging your arms around his neck, you marvelled his words. “Could I? I think I need another taste to see how magical a moment like this can truly be.”

Your Christmas
Pairing: Kang Dongho (Baekho) x female reader
Genre: christmas au
Warnings: none
Word count:Â 474
He was in a daze. It wasn’t only from the flurry of your family setting up on the beachfront for the barbeque lunch you were having. Dongho had been this way ever since you both touched down in your hometown yesterday.
It wasn’t as if he hadn’t travelled before. And Dongho did know the science behind it all, but it was still surreal to be feeling the summer sun beating down on his back on Christmas Day. There wasn’t a snowman in sight, and the idea of plaid pyjamas and a hot cocoa in this climate seemed laughable.
All his Christmas traditions made no sense in this world.
Then again, all your traditions seemed so unfathomable to him as well. Noticing your partner out of his depth, you reached for Dongho’s arm and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Watch out. Aunt Molly is coming through with the pavlova.”
“The pav-what?” he breathed, looking at the creamy dessert the woman carried into the beach house your family rented for the Christmas festivities. Â
Giggling, you patted his hand. “You have much to learn about Christmas in summer, don’t you?”
“It feels like I’ve stepped into another universe,” Dongho admitted, and you nodded.
“Now you know why I was so quiet last Christmas with your family. I’m used to wearing my swimwear on Christmas day at some point in the day.”
“A white Christmas makes the most sense,” he murmured, and you shrugged.
“It’s all about where you’re raised, babe. You’ll get the hang of it.”
Dongho was dubious at first, but once he was given tasks by your father to help with the cooking of the meat, he settled in. And lunch was truly delicious. After resting for a bit, you headed out with your younger cousins onto the sandy dunes and played for an hour before being called back up for dessert.
He had to admit, whilst the pavlova looked questionable, he was one of the many who went back for seconds of the dessert.
The day wore on and the inky night now filled the skies, the pair of you walking hand in hand down the beach, listening to the waves roll in. It had been different for sure, and it still didn’t quite feel like Christmas.
However, Dongho was glad he got to experience the twenty-fifth in the way you had your whole life.
Smiling up at him as if you read his mind, you stopped walking. “It’s not all that bad, is it?”
“No, you’re right.”
“I bet you’re looking forward to a wintry Christmas next year though,” you guessed and he grinned in answer. Snuggling into his side, you hummed. “Me too.”
“I thought you missed all this?”
“I did, but I know we won’t be here next year. Wherever you are, that’s the type of Christmas I want to have.”
