Hi hi! Hope you're doing well~! Do you have any experience with PVC rather than latex? I recently got my first PVC maid uniform, and I'm having trouble finding reliable info on how to store/clean it. Would you know what works best to get out dust and dirt.?

I have a little knowledge of PVC, just enough to know that I prefer latex. Honestly, the smell of PVC doesn't do it for me, but plenty of my friends relied on PVC to add a touch of shiny to their wardrobes.

Compared to latex, or even cloth, PVC is fragile in a lot of ways. It develops permanent creases if too much force is put on it. It becomes fragile when heated. It absorbs odors permanently, making maid uniforms that are regularly used for cleaning somewhat fragrant.

Washing PVC is easy enough. You can hand wash with lukewarm water and dish soap. My goth friends swear by throwing it into a laundry machine on a gentle warm/cold cycle with a small amount of liquid detergent. (Make sure you zip up everything first if you go the machine route.) Either way, you'll want to hang dry. I recommend also wiping your dress down with a towel if you have hard water.

Store PVC hanging or flat, someplace that doesn't get a lot of sunlight or gets hot. A corner of your closet works great. DO NOT store PVC with anything heavy placed on top of it.

As always, make sure you keep PVC dresses the heck away from latex or any soft plastics. Cheap PVC fabrics may still contain active leftover plasticizers, which can destroy rubber over time. If you have a full kink wardrobe, make sure your PVC outfits get their own corner.
