#putt pop swap

sorry i died for a few days, i had school + i was sick all week but didn't know it

i'm working on some digital art and some more sketches for my silly trolls au, so for now i'll just share some miscellaneous thoughts i've been having about it:

- in this au, i'm using my own age gap headcanons for the bros. so, at the time of the brozone split, branch was 2; floyd was 13; clay was 14; bruce was 16; and john dory was 19. poppy is 2-3 years younger than branch, and viva is 2 years younger than clay.

- viva has been the acting ruler of pop village since she was 19, king peppy's grief over the lost of poppy leading him to retire early. poppy and branch became co-leaders of the putt-putt trolls when they were 16 and 18 respectively, after the original leader passed and they were deemed best for the job.

- instead of the snack pack being viva's best friends, her relationship with them is a bit more complicated. having found cooper as an egg not long after poppy was lost, he became something of a little brother to her; so, to viva, the rest of the snack pack are both her brother's friends and are kinda like little siblings to her.

- neither clay nor branch sing in this au (at least, not at first), though for different reasons: branch doesn't sing because singing killed his grandma (at least in his mind), and being lost during the escape only worsened his state; clay doesn't sing because, despite having already begun to gain back her colors by the time of the first movie, the lost of her entire family was a wound that never truly healed.

- i've also been considering having branch or poppy being the one kidnapped by velvet and veneer instead of floyd, since both are believed to be dead in this au and i think it would be interesting. should i make the change and have either of these two kidnapped, it'll be the other that goes on the hunt for brozone. so if branch is kidnapped, poppy will be the one to look for his missing brothers; and if poppy is kidnapped, branch will be looking for his brothers to help her.

- speaking of lost siblings, like in canon poppy isn't aware that she has a sister; the only hint of a past she has is an old hug time bracelet she doesn't remember being given to her. branch remembers all of his brothers to varying degrees, the one he remembers most being clay since he'd came back before the tree escape. and clay and viva both know about poppy and branch - their mourning of their lost loved ones helped spark their friendship - but viva isn't aware that clay had other siblings.

- also i'm gonna mention this now so i don't forget, but the reason i haven't talked about floyd, bruce, or john dory all too much for this au is because they remain mostly unchanged. all that really does change is floyd probably not being kidnapped and instead just…doing his own thing. solo career shit yknow. this au is more so centered around clay, branch, poppy, and viva overall.

anyway these are some silly thoughts, and i'm gonna get back to drawing :]

Viva, Queen of the Pop Trolls, and Poppy, leader of the Putt Putt Trolls, for the role swap AU I posted about yesterday. Now it's their turn for an info post let's gooooo:

- Poppy is now the older sister in this scenario. Like in canon, she was separated from her family when Viva was only a baby, on the night of the trolls' escape. She and her group of survivors became the nomadic Putt Putt Trolls, taking their name from one of their earliest settlements, the abandoned Bergen golf course.

- Instead of settling in one place, the Putt Putt Trolls travel between different temporary homes throughout the year, moving with the seasons and never staying in one place for longer than a few months. If they keep moving, they have less of a chance of being spotted by the Bergens and taken captive again.

- Poppy retains her cheerfully optimistic personality here, and as the leader of the group she's always encouraging that they keep their spirits up through their music. I imagine she keeps up a bit of a "tough unshakable leader" facade, always putting on a happy face for her people to hide how stressed out and anxious she really is. She already lost her family. She'd hate to lose anything else.

- It was during one of their yearly migrations that the Putt Putters ran into Clay, and invited him to join them.

- Viva, Poppy's younger sister, is the recently crowned queen of Pop Village. She's a friendly and charismatic leader who always looks out for her people, and prioritizes their safety and happiness above all else.

- In this AU, Viva did grow up knowing about her older sister, and how she was lost during the Bergen attack. Viva here is a lot less paranoid about letting people leave the village, but she's definitely a lot more cautious than Poppy is in canon, maintaining constant vigilance over the village and the surrounding forest to avoid losing anyone else to the Bergens. And being careful about the scope of her parties—she knows that too much noise and light runs a pretty big risk.

- John Dory is her closest advisor, helping her put together security systems and evacuation protocols with the planning skills he picked up from Branch. Part of the reason JD is drawn to Viva is because she reminds him of Branch in that regard—that deep desire to protect the ones she loves that's sometimes a little misguided but comes from a place of genuine care.

- Viva's hug time bracelet originally belonged to Poppy

Peppy was originally king, right?

So why/how did Rosiepuff end up as queen? I mean I guess Peppy died, but I still don’t get why Rosiepuff?

If Poppy was a princess, why did Branch end up as king?

And Viva, she got separated and formed the Putt Putts like in the movie, right?

I PLAN TO GET TO THIS MORE LATER but i can explain it in text for the time being ^_^ HUGE yap session under the cut

basically, yes peppy was king beforehand. in the au specifically, (and sort of hc generally ??) rosiepuff and king peppy were close as friends leading up to the escape. rosiepuff had helped him plan out the escape routes and tunnels as well as just general planning for the escape itself

during the escape, to sort of sum it up anyways, king peppy handed poppy to rosiepuff before he was killed (yea shocker the man dies). the pop trolls didn’t have anyone to really rely on, and since rosiepuff was closest to peppy + was trusted with the life of poppy, they sort of just flocked to her ? it wasn’t really an instant thing, just over time she became more recognized as the queen.

rosiepuff never really wanted to be the queen, she didn’t feel it was fair, but she just had to go with it as the pop trolls were looking to her for answers suddenly. they couldn’t really look to poppy since she was a literal baby + she was grey :’)

branch was actually a prince like the rest of his brothers for most of his life before the first movie’s storyline :P like rosiepuff, branch ended up being crowned as king instead due to him saving the pop trolls and making peace with the bergens. (it’s a little weird but honestly these trolls ditched the traditional monarchy rules when making rosiepuff queen so LMAO)

and about viva, yes she does end up separated as she does in canon, the only main difference in her storyline is that she doesn’t have clay, so she ends up taking a more serious role in turn since she had to step up as a leader by herself

but uh yeah. i do plan on drawing out all of this so don’t worry 😭 mainly bc my instagram audience doesn’t get to see these asks, but also because i’ve just really wanted to draw more pre movie story :’3

okay so it'd be a basic swap au where the pop trolls are the villains and the rock trolls are good

"But Moose, isn't that the whole point of the second movie? That the Pop Trolls were the ones who started the whole thing?" Shhhhhhhhh shut up shut up shut up

Anyways-

The plot would basically start from World Tour. But the first movie is a little bit different, but the main character is Barb so we don't really ""see"" any of it.

First movie context: first of all I would want the snack pack to do more and be their own characters, especially DJ (girlie just disappeared off the face of the earth in the other movies) Branch is more like Creek while Creek is Poppy's childhood, gay BFF. Branch also has all of his colors for reasons. So Poppy throws an obnoxiously loud party and Bergens find them blah blah blah (side note: Poppy acts like a mixture between Adam and Alastor from Hazbin Hotel) Branch and Poppy go on their super fun road trip, they still think the other is annoying because they are massive hypocrites. They're kinda in a rivalry, always trying to one up each other with songs, parties, ect. The movie is basically the same. Creek doesn't sell them out and everyone is happy

World Tour: Barb and Riff are siblings for starters. Riff is older and king of the Rock Trolls, also an older protective big bro. Barb kinda has Poppy's personality, making her the odd one out. Branch is the one going out and stealing all the strings while Poppy stays in Pop Village to look after it's citizens. More Pop Trolls are with him, including Creek. Who does not like this at all. Between the first and second movie, Poppy and Branch grew much closer to each other, with rumors going around that Branch is going to be the king of the Pop Trolls. Which everyone is pretty fond of the idea, since he's very popular among the Pop Trolls. And Branch has grown very loyal to Poppy during this time. Then the same thing with the road trip happens, but with some minor changes. Poppy not only wants to take the strings but leave nothing left standing, so Branch also goes to Vacay Island where Bruce and Floyd are and take over that place as well taking over where the Putt Putt Trolls are staying. So on they're road trip they come across Branch's brothers + Viva. Then yeah when Branch takes the Rock string, Creek finally stands up to Branch (Creek probably had a bonding moment with some of the people on the road trip at some point) either way Branch ends up leaving Creek in the rock place while the Pop Trolls go to bring all the strings to Poppy. Branch probably tells Poppy that Creek is traitor and she probably doesn't even question it. Anyway they also kidnap Barb when she lies and says that she's the Queen of the Rock Trolls, while Riff is like "you fucking idiot"

things happen and now the leaders of each tribe are Pop zombies. The ones who aren't hypnotized notice that Branch looks kind of similar to the Pop zombies. Something that Poppy also notices. So apparently Branch would sometimes use the pop string on himself to make him happy and have color so he'd fit in, which Poppy had no idea about at all. Also Poppy has an existential crisis when she learns that Pop Trolls were the reason why they were divided. And things kind of play out the same until the third movie

also Branch gets taken in the third movie instead of Floyd but that's a different post

If it's not to much trouble, what in the world is Bruce and Clay doing?

In someone's else art they had Grey John Dory and swapped Brue and Clay over, making Clay the vaycayer and Bruce the Co-survivalist with (I'm guessing) Putt-Putt Queen Poppy.

Idk if you think about that too or if it's just Grey John Dory and Pop Queen Viva but seeing them react/1st meeting with Grey John Dory would be fun/heartbreaking either way.

Cause it’s the irony in the story you know, brace was put in an uptight routine and ended up in vacay island, clay was the fun one and ended up as the serious admin, I don’t think they’ll compliment each other’s roles if they got switched up

Indie pop superstars the Kaiser Chiefs will bring the curtain down on the BMW PGA Championship when they headline the BMW Show Stage at Wentworth on Sunday May 28, rounding off an unmissable week of entertainment on and off the golf course.

The Leeds band will bring their multi-million selling catalogue of hit singles – including Oh My God, Never Miss A Beat, Everyday I Love You Less And Less, I Predict A Riot, the Number One smash Ruby as well as live favourites Hole In My Soul and Parachute from their new top five album Stay Together  – to the BMW Show Stage in the Championship Village after the final putt has dropped on Sunday May 28.

Fans can now book tickets to see some of the world’s best golfers in action at Wentworth, whilst experiencing an electrifying performance on the Show Stage from the Kaiser Chiefs here.

General admission tickets, onsite parking and grandstand seating for the 2017 BMW PGA Championship are available for purchase online, including a new Twilight Ticketing offer, which allows general admission to the venue from 4pm Sunday evening to enjoy the final round of golf and 90-minute live music set for £42 including fees.

Golf fans are sure to be enticed by the first event of the new Rolex Series, with star attractions on the course set to include four-time Major winner Rory McIlroy and defending champion Chris Wood, before Kaiser Chiefs hit the stage as the headline act, building on the hugely successful sets last year from Mike and the Mechanics and Tom Chaplin.

Kaiser Chief’s front man Ricky Wilson is known to millions for his primetime television stint as a coach on The Voice, where he mentored the winning act for two years in a row, the only coach ever to do so. With the band undertaking a big international tour on the back of their successful sixth album, Stay Together, the singer is looking forward to swapping headlining festivals for fairways later this year.

“We’re really excited to be playing at the BMW PGA Championship, but for the golf fans it will be a great fun way to close what will be a great weekend,” he said.

“I’ll promise to not play golf if Rory McIlroy promises not to sing, though if he wants to get up and join us he’s more than welcome! With the important business of the golf out of the way, hopefully everyone will be in the mood for a bit of a party on the Sunday night.”

viva found cooper a few months after the pop trolls began setting into their new village. still fresh off the loss of poppy, viva took him in and helped raise him alongside king peppy.

in this au, he's something of pop village's "adopted prince" (before later learning he's the long lost prince of funk). should anything happen to viva, he would've been the one to take over.
