SMOOCHES UR PROBABLY SICK OF ME [đź“ş] JUMLIGMV INTO UR INBOX BUT IR POST ABOUT THE SONG DOCTOR WITH DOTTORE
Like, he’s fully convinced there’s something different about you and that’s why he’s so utterly enamored with you. But like months of him getting blood samples, measurements, brain scans and other things he just realizes he’s in love..
He was fully convinced there was something different about your anatomy or biology that made him fascinated with you but, he’s just utterly and madly in love with you..
NO NO đź“ş ANON DON'T APOLOGIZE!! I ALWAYS LOVE SEEING YOU POP IN HERE!! AND YESSSSS!! I adore thisss đź’—
It's actually very amusing to think about, how much Dottore's perception has changed of you. He went from thinking you were the plainest and boring person to ever (dis)grace his presence, to wondering what about you could possibly make him feel so tingly and good, to realizing the problem lay with him instead. He went from being entirely disinterested, to suddenly wanting to know every single detail of you, down to the ones you didn't even know yourself (he is willing to find out for you though). He goes from hating you to suddenly being enamored with every part of your being. You find the whole thing rather amusing because you're probably already aware of his feelings, but you let him indulge. Let him indulge in his unawareness for the time being. Because you already know how his experiment will end.
So you watch for months (a bit impatiently toward the end, because you want him to hurry up!! just realize you're in love already!) as Zandik analyzes all the things he recorded of you. You've already told him that there's nothing that special about you, but he has yet to believe you. So he analyzes and scrutinizes and examines every single thing carefully, but nothing. Absolutely nothing comes up. You're really just... quite normal. He really... does not understand. He spends a lot of time just thinking after, wondering where he could have gone wrong, because surely he couldn't have failed, right? When Zandik finally realizes all of the obsession with you stems from his love for you it all just... clicks. At first, he vehemently denies it, but connecting the dots is unfortunately really simple and everything points to that. He feels quite... stupid and foolish after that.
(You just give him that 'told ya so' smile and kiss him before he can get mad.)

Search Through the Universe (3/6)
Rating: M
Read Chapter 1 here
He was leaving? Already?
You set the bowl of raw cookie dough on the counter and followed him to the living room where his spaceship sat. He was inside, but the door was still open so you peered in.
It was small in there, with one seat and many screens. “Are you leaving?” you asked, trying not to sound sad about it.
You had given him some cookie dough and he seemed to enjoy it enough to share his name with you. You tried to do the same, but it seemed he thought your name was now Cookie.
But then Kai was climbing out, and you took a step back. He had a small pouch in his hands and he rummaged through that before pulling out a little microchip and a tool that looked like a hi-tech Q-tip.
His hands rested on your shoulders as he turned you to face the dark window and you could see him putting the Q-tip and microchip together in the reflection.
“What are you doing?” you asked warily.
Kai leaned in and put one arm around your waist, keeping your arms clasped at your sides. He whispered something low into your ear and you leaned away to try and see what he was saying.
But he pulled you close, whispering the same words again, and holding you still.
Okay, he was definitely going to do something with that mighty Q-tip.
Suddenly your knees buckled and you gasped as a shiver ran down your spine. An embarrassingly loud moan escaped your lips as something touched your inner ear and your hands gripped onto Kai’s arm to hold yourself steady.
You heard a chuckle. “I guess you’re one of the lucky ones that find it pleasurable,” a smooth voice drifted into your ear.
“What?” You whipped your head to the side and found Kai with a smile tugging at his lips. “What did you just say?”
“I said most people find the translator chip insertion painful, but there are some that get immense pleasure from it. You seem to be one of the lucky ones.” His hold on you loosened a little bit. “You okay, Koo-kee?”
You stepped away and rubbed your warm cheeks before clearing your throat. “My name isn’t Cookie.”
“It isn’t?”
“No.” You looked up and saw that his expression had completely changed. You might as well have kicked a puppy with what you had just said. “But it’s all right. You can call me Cookie.”
He still looked a bit wounded, but he tested the sound on his lips. “Cookie.”
“There,” you gave him a pat on the shoulder. “Like a natural.”
He seemed to enjoy the praise, but you were still reeling from that eargasm earlier.
Jeez, you could not believe you had had a legitimate eargasm.
You cleared your throat again. “Now that we can understand each other, I have a lot of questions for you.”
Kai suddenly put on a serious face and took a seat on the couch. “And I you.”
“Good.” You took a seat and clasped your hands in your lap. “So are you an alien?”
There it was. You needed to know if you needed to call up Area 51.
He seemed to find the question funny. “I can ask you the same thing.”
“You’re the one that had a crash landing on Earth, my planet!”
He shrugged. “I guess I can say I’m not from Earth. But your people have yet to discover my planet.”
Well, that opened up another thousand questions. “So why do you look human?”
“What do you mean?”
You pointed at his hair. “You have regular black hair. You have two eyes and a nose. No horns, no fangs, no extra appendages.” Or none that you noticed while you were cleaning him up earlier.
“This is how your human eyes and brain interpret me. It is not far from my true form, but your brain would not be able to compute it so this is a simpler form.”
Your lips parted in surprised. “Wow... Well, if you ever consider staying on Earth, you might want to look into being a model,” you teased. He was handsome, that’s for sure.
“A model citizen?” he asked earnestly.
You choked on a laugh. “Sure.”
“So will you help me?”
You sat back and crossed your arms. “Help you?”
“I doubt you were the one to shoot down my ship, so will you help me find the one who did?”
Oh man, how did you get yourself into an intergalactic space chase?
“I... I can try. If your spaceship carries the right data, I can access it and try to figure something out.” You looked over at the metal spaceship in your living room. “I can’t promise anything though.” You sifted through data for hours and hours as a career. Surely, this couldn’t be too different.
He took your fingers and pressed his forehead to them again. “I appreciate your help.”
Like last time, you patted his shoulder awkwardly. “Just a friend helping a friend.”
Yeah, a friend from outer space.
---
Kai had tried a system reset at least seven times now. Nothing had worked. The auto-fix function just wouldn’t start.
They had moved up the steps to Cookie’s personal room. Beside his ship, he could hear Cookie clicking away on her primitive computing system. It had been a long time, and she had not once taken a break.
They could both use a break.
He poked his head out of the ship and found Cookie on her bed under a tent of heavy furs that she had tried to give to him earlier. He lifted a corner and found her tired eyes looking back at him.
“Did it work?” she asked as she yawned.
“No,” he said, hoping his dejection didn’t show too much through his voice. “You should rest.”
“I’m okay,” she replied, rubbing her arms and going back to clicking away. “But if you want, you can take that side of the bed.” She scooted to one edge, leaving enough space for another person to take a rest. She made sure to take the heavy sheets with her.
It seemed this Earthly temperature was unsuitable for its inhabitants.
“When the sun rises, we shall get back to work.” He moved her portable computing system away and got under the tent with her. “I will rest if you rest.”
Her cheeks turned pink. “In the same bed?”
Kai cocked his head to the side. They now understood each other’s languages, but some nuances were still lost in translation. “Did you not just offer me a space here?”
“I did but...” She let out a sigh and rubbed her arms again, this time letting out a big yawn. “Yeah, I did.” She curled into a small ball and laid on her side, closing her eyes.
Kai laid down beside her, unzipping his suit.
Cookie’s eyes shot open. “What are you doing?”
He stopped. “My suit has a temperature regulator.” He slowly zipped just past his navel. “If you lay under it, you can warm yourself.”
He could see the hesitation in her eyes warring with the want of warmth, but Kai couldn’t blame her. She was a mere human with no fighting skills whatsoever. No defensive exoskeleton, no secret compartmental weapons, nothing.
He caved. “I’m going to tell you a secret.”
She was visibly holding her breath as she nodded.
“There is a suicide button on my suit.”
“What?” She hissed.
He gently took her fingers and brought them to the third button on his belt. “If you hold this for ten seconds, the suit will self-destruct with me in it. If I do something inexcusably wrong, if I am ever a danger to you, you must press that button.”
“Why the hell do you have a suicide button?”
“It is more honourable to go at my own time than at the hands of others.” And he figured, at the rate of seven failed system resets, he wasn’t going back to his home planet to die anyway.
Cookie held her hands out in exasperation. “And you trust me with this information?”
He took her hands in his, realizing how cold they were. “Of course. You are my Earth friend.”
It jarred him to see her eyes suddenly turn glassy, but a moment later, she had closed the distance between them and rested against his bare chest.
“You’re so stupid,” she muttered. Though he thought this word was negative, she had wrapped both arms around him in a tight embrace. “We’re going to find the person who shot you down, and then we are going to send you home.”
He patted her shoulder, much like she had done before. “You are stupid, too,” he said, hoping the endearment translated the same way.
He could feel her shaking with laughter. “Okay, goodnight, Kai.”
“Goodnight, Cookie.” He breathed in the scent of her hair which was sweet just like everything else in this strange world. A weird sense of longing washed over him, as if he felt like he belonged here all his life with his little human snuggled up in his arms.
