i feel like everyone talks about james as the “protector” the “sacrificer” the one who sits with his pain in silence so everyone else can keep living, particularly in a jegulus context, but when you think about it

it was regulus who sacrificed himself in silence. his canonical reason for not telling anyone he was going after the horcrux was to protect those he loves. he stood by and quietly accepted the role of heir so others could live on freely and without pain.

the two have more in common than you’d think.
