Details:

Ravenkit has a long list of problems growing up.

He´s the runt of the litter, expected first to not make it through his first moon, then his first six.

Spends a lot of time in Spottedleaf´s den.

He and Dustkit don´t get along great. Dustkit spends his time wrestling with Sandkit and Graykit, and Ravenkit was often too sickly to participate

Robinwing coddled him a little.

After the greencough epidemic, Bluestar gives him to Tigerclaw as an apprentice in the hopes that he´d give the struggeling kitten some strength

It Does Not work out

Tigerclaw is harsh with Ravenpaw, demanding results you´d expect from an almost a year old cat, not a six months old, sickly apprentice

He has nobody to turn to, since Dustpaw is actually jealous of him and their older siblings are pretty distant

Tigerclaw leaves him to hunt alone a lot, berating him for what he considers insufficient results

The combat training borders on physical abuse, but nobody sees it that way. ThunderClan is at war with RiverClan and ShadowClan is expanding, they can´t afford a weak apprentice

On one such hunting trip near the Twoleg place, he meets a kittypet his age named Rusty. Rusty´s house has a birdfeeder hanging over the fence and Rusty invites Ravenpaw to hunt under it.

They make friends in the following days and Rusty expresses concern when Ravenpaw comes hunting with injuries.

Ravenpaw, at this point, has burried the childhood notion that being a healer might be nice pretty deep.

Redtail´s Murder Happens

Ravenpaw is pretty traumatized and Tigerclaw is getting harder on him, slowly morphing into actual murder attempts.

Things come to a head one day when Ravenpaw is send to Snake Rocks to hunt.

He catches an adder when the warning cry of a goldfinch makes him turn around

Tigerclaw attempts to pounce on him and Ravenpaw books it

He arrives at Rusty´s fence panting and bleeding, and Rusty leads the way over the long fence seperating the gardens from the forest to escape Tigerclaw.

They loose him in the garden with the rottweiler

Raven is pretty injured and ends up in the healer´s nest in Mist´s Colony, making friends with Yellowfang

To say that she takes to being a grumpy grandma would be an understatement

He requests being allowed to train as a healer and Mist gladly agrees, happy to have another healer amongst their ranks.

Ravenpaw´s test of fire is going to help WindClan, and grappling with the fact that he can´t help them.

He carries Gorsekit part of the way home and tries not to cry all over the little kitten who´s littermates died in his paws

He is named for many things after that. For the carrion birds he watched circle above. For the wings of freely soaring birds. For WindClan, a little bit.

He helps Cinderpaw recover from her broken leg and contemplates how it´d feel to share Yellowfang with a little sister, a little.

After the fire, he trains her.

He´s the main healer credited for Braveheart´s, Brightheart´s and Longtail´s survival

He names Cinderpond when she discovers the Moonpool and he and Barleyfur adopt three orphaned kittens

I’ll probably draw up a better map later on, but here’s a general idea of where the Clans are in relation to each other. The biomes these Clans occupy are meant to be similar to northern California with a bit of SoCal squished in, but they don’t live in a real-world location (this will also reflect in the herbs they use, since they’ll likely be the same as canon herbs. i know nothing about plants. please forgive me).

OakClan and LakeClan (yellow and green) live in the mountains. LakeClan occupies the hilly forests, while OakClan has learned how to survive on the more sparse mountaintops. LakeClan boasts the most variety in prey, from fish, to birds, to forest creatures. They’re excellent hunters and swimmers. OakClan warriors have the most variety in territory, and as a result are highly adaptable and versatile cats.

RainClan (blue) lives in a huge meadow in the foothills of the mountains. The terrain is marshy most of the year (greenleaf is usually dry). These cats are extremely fast and capable of running down rabbits and frogs, which are their main food sources. Learning to swim is also mandatory in their training, though they don’t use their river to hunt as much as LakeClan does.

StormClan (red) is the only Clan who isn’t located IN the mountains. Instead, they live by the lake at the base of the mountains in a chaparral/desert. The scorching temperatures make hunting a challenge, which is why their territory is so large. These cats have learned to work with the heat to out-endure prey and catch them by surprise.

The Twinkling Tree and the Burning Stone (purple) are two sacred locations that all four Clans are allowed to access. The Twinkling Tree is a huge willow tree that juts out into the lake below the mountains. This is where medicine cats and leaders go to share with StarClan. Lots of fireflies hang out there at night, making the tree look as though it’s full of twinkling stars. The Burning Stone resides in a gorge in RainClan’s meadow. This is where Gatherings take place every full moon. It got its name from how hot the stone’s surface can get.
