Guess what we have!? We have an 18 hour travel day ahead of us. Yikes! But it’s sort of okay because we’ll have plenty of time for reflecting on this epic trip. It really was an adventure of a lifetime. Currently writing this from the airport in Amman, Jordan. On this trip, we visited 4 countries (Italy, Jordan, Palestine & Israel) and over 25 cities! Long flights can be tough but we love going places and it’s the best time to reflect back on a trip. I usually order wine, grab my journal and list out bullet points of moments from the trip until I can’t think of any more, then I order more wine and snooze. Anyone else love reflecting and journaling on the plane ride home from a big trip?! We are honored and so very excited to share our very first feature in Martha Stewart with you!! The story posted today in @marthastewart is a stunning home tour and holiday party that will inspire your future holiday decorating. Find the link in our profile. ____ Devin and I made goals for 2018 and one of them (the one I was intimidated to announce) was to be featured by Martha Stewart. We are so proud and excited that these photos have a fun home outside of our hard drives. ____ This is incredibly fun for me because I’m a big fan of Martha Stewart, her magazines, cookbooks, her show (I went to a live taping in NYC with my gma in 2011), everything I grew up around! I can still remember when I was 12, my mom made me watch a special episode on how to iron a dress shirt. She told me how I would “need to know this one day”. Martha was a staple in my home growing up and we mentioned her frequently. This is a huge milestone for us at @purasoulphoto and we’re thrilled to share this spectacular home and engagement celebration with all of you. Thank you for your love and support. Babe Ruth used to live here. It’s true. On the upper west side of Manhattan, he called this building home. And when I lived in NYC I always dreamed of visiting this gorgeous apartment building that used to be the home to America’s ultimate baseball legend. After living in an apartment in NYC for 7 years (west village for 6 and Williamsburg for 1), I moved to California with Devin where I still live in an apartment. Good thing I like it! I’d like to graduate to a house one day and give a proper home to all of the cool artifacts and artwork I’ve collected from my travels. But until then, it’s apartment living for us. We opened up the Martha Stewart’s Baking Handbook and chose the most intimidating looking cake, the Dobos Torte. That’s what we made for my birthday cake that year, and we made it together, me and my mom. I cherished spending one-on-one time with my mom, especially in the kitchen. There is so much warmth and love that goes into creating food and experiences for family members & kitchens play such a big part in every home, all over the world.
