Here's a glimpse of a gig I did with a very talented musician @ar.vinod at @poonarepublic . A lot of #euphoria, #jal and of course, #retro Hindi song made up our setlist. And you can never end a gig without #gulabiaakhein, because no other songs exists .. #classics #ftw :) . . It's not that I hate Hindi music or anything that Bollywood makes. I just think that the music in Bollywood or any Indian music industry (other than what is the genuine independent artists) have no solid content in their music. The only lyrics you hear are about partying or girls or love. Music to me is an extension of words and actions, if the extension of yourself is so limited and sexist, it says a lot about your soul. I'd like to take this opportunity to appreciate the effort MTv Indies took, although briefly, to promote Indian independent artists.
