Oh to be free of this damn hellscape. What the Ultimate Lifeform wouldn’t give to have his full power restored once more, to show the demonic creature that had ensnared him within its web just how big of a mistake it was to involve him in its games. Shadow did not stop nor wait for anyone, or anything. He had a purpose to keep, and this little hang up would not deter him from doing so. Eventually, he will find a way out. And destroy that damn creature.

Skulking through the forest, he’d made sure to keep his head low and on a constant swivel. He’d had enough experiences within these trials to keep humble, despite how humiliating it was ( the hybrid was never built to be prey. )

He paused then, ears pricked. Something wasn’t right, it was far too silent. And just as he is registering this observation, he feels the wind be knocked out of him as an unseen force slams him into a tree, his head colliding roughly against it. The hedgehog’s grunt of pain is cut short by a silent wheeze, though the pain that stung his nerves was not nearly as striking as the voice that graced his ears. No, not .. not him. Don’t be him. Crimson eyes snapped open, gaping down at his attacker with a mixture of surprise and dismay.

“ ... ”

Silence prolongs the Ultimate Lifeform’s response as he does nothing for several seconds, in utter shock by this revelation. A gloved hand lifted, feather light as it reaches to brace against the other hedgehog’s shoulder, as if he were trying to confirm what was in front of him as real. His voice, soft and.. terribly vulnerable, murmurs. “ ... Impossible. ”

I’m just very obsessed with the idea that mihawk is useless in a weapon less fight like he cannot throw a punch or get out of a pin to save his life like one he can’t kick he’s done out for the count, and this is why Shanks ends most of their duels this way. Because he’s a filthy cheater and Mihawk is even worse off because it’s Shanks pining him and he has eaten a lot of dirt.

Shanks decides to teach him the art of fighting dirty cause he’s nice that way but also let’s just say that Shanks likes being in a pin a little too much
