I had a rough day today so I decided to de-stress by doodling a bunch of Snakmonster Peeply, inspired by @grim-mouse once again

A lot of the Majora’s Mask artwork has heavy shadows and I wanted to try something like that out. Also wanted to draw Floofty seeing the Snak Monster Journalist for the first time, which didn’t go the best

Peeply encounters the Snakmonster journalist from @grim-mouse's neat AU. Poor critter really needs a hug, I think. (And I have a major soft spot for cursed protagonists, hence Peeply's concern)

I'm quite enamoured with @grim-mouse's AU (I've really enjoyed chatting about it), so I had to draw what it would look like if Peeply fell into it. Probably ending up as a squishy little mochi bug guy with a chipped fork...

If the AU is based on Majora's Mask, will the journalist end up with other forms, or is it a lot of spending the first act trying to reverse being a funny little melon ball guy

I've been thinking about possible other snak monster forms for the Journalist, even incorporating different bugsnax for the different biomes, and I have concept sketch for the ocean one

But yeah, the first loop/arc I have in mind is trying to get Buddy back to normal. Which I haven't fully figured out yet myself. Like the stand in for the Ocarina of Time is a silver compass/sundial the Snaxsquatch steals off them, but I don't know yet what the "Song of Healing" stand in should/could be. Something to do with Jamfoot for sure but other than that I'm still working it out

Also I haven't had the chance to mention it, but in Snak form Buddy can't talk. Though I have debated on them developing a rudimentary language so they can communicate with Filbo a bit easier. (Kinda in the vein of how Ash's Pikachu has certain names it can say, like “Pipipi” for calling out to togepi)

Pumpkin Moon of the Everlasting Autumn

It's a Bugsnax AU heavily inspired by Majora's Mask, and takes the basic premise of the game; Snaxsquatch takes an artifact containing ungodly powers, starts causing problems for everyone including altering the Journalist's form into a little snak monster, and tries to have the moon cause a calamity. Also the journalist is stuck in a time loop trying to prevent the calamity, but instead of a 3 day time limit like in MM there's a 3 month time limit that spans somewhere in the August-November time of year

I WISH I KNEW THINGS ABOUT MAJORA'S MASK SO I COULD ASK MORE, but just in general: what would be each character's role in this AU? :O

I'm still working out more for the rest of the cast but here are the ones so far:

*The Journalist – Link: knocked off airship and had Snaxquatch steal from them; chased after, fell again and got turned into a small snak monster (Deku Link adjacent)

Snaxsquatch – Skull Kid: ended up taking a stone grump era artifact that Jamfoot had found, has been increasingly antagonistic ever since

*Aleganger – Happy Masks Salesman : dug up something that should have stayed buried, lost the thing, and now the world's going to end

Lizbert – Tael : trapped and struggling to get a warning out to the others, figured out a way to prevent/slow down the disaster

*Filbo – Tatl : looking for Liz, and when mini snak monster Journalist finds him collapsed and still half blind from the purple flower, Filbo bit their arm but quickly let go when Budelyn puts up a fight, end up helping each other out and end up working together

* aware of the time loop once it starts

Possible MM character roles/story arcs

These ones I'm debating and trying to blend/adjust the roles to better fit the Bugsnax cast. For the most part personalities and relationships of the Grumps won't change, just altering how their quests/side quests go

Wambus – Anju (Inn keeper who's fiance went missing)

Beffica –

Gramble – Romani and Cremia (live on the ranch and aliens steal their cows)

Wiggle – Lulu (zora singer involved with Ocean Temple)

Triffany – The Gibdos Mask guy (guy studying the ancient kingdom of Ikana), Kafei (missing fiance that got cursed then robbed)

Cromdo – Ikana Canyon Thief (stole wedding mask from Kafei), Undead king of Ikana??? (involved with Canyon Temple)

Chandlo – Monkey and/or Deku Princess?? (involved with Swamp Temple)

Snorpy – Kotake (Potion Shop), Gorons? (involved with Mountain Temple)

Floofty – Koume (Boat tour + Pictobox),

Shelda – Anju's Granny (knows old stories related to current events)
