    “--oi. Oi, Nic-nic, Blue-Bunsie, my trusty dude buddy homie bromie--”

    The tall robot walked over, but his eyes weren’t focusing on where he was going at all. His gaze was glued to sheets of papers haphazardly held in his hand. One hand dug through his hair, signature blue cap nowhere to be seen. He was chewing a piece of gum, shown by the loud smacking of the piece being chewed between his teeth.

    Napstaton looked just-- a bit preoccupied. He didn’t seem to realize he was tracking... was that neon ink on the ground? To come to think of it, it looked like he had some in his hair too. The blinding oranges contrasted awfully with his bright blue colors.

    “Are ya free tomorrow? I know it’s technically your day off, but-- I need you to man the Snowdin-location food stand for my winter-special party. The last guy said he’s allergic to snow so he can’t come... That’s your OG home place, ain’t it? You’d know the ins and outs of that place then, right?”

     He walks over to where he thinks Nic is, but still hasn’t looked up. Instead-- he just turns around, scratches at his scalp, smears more ink across his forehead, then lets out a soft rumble of frustration from deep in his chest.

     “Ah-- seriously? Why aren’t we stocked for this? I thought I told Hands t’take care of all o’this!” Napstaton mumbled under his breath, sighing as he leaned his backend against the counter where the fast-food restaurant’s register was.

     He put the papers down on the counter, some of it scattering-- then finally turned his gaze up, looking for the familiar blue rabbit monster. He hadn’t been able to visit the fast food chain at all that day-- it was a breath of fresh air for NTT to be back here, but he was frazzled and distracted still.

     “--Nic-nic?”

     Today was great! Or -- it was supposed to be, at least.

     He had just finished a successful tour around New Home last night, and now he technically had some more free time to enjoy himself before the big ( but more low-key ) show tonight. Monsters still loved him, as always, and all things considering, life was good.

           So why-- why did he feel so out of sorts?

     Napstaton’s entire day felt like static around the edges --- uncomfortable, stuffy, and all too much on the senses. He almost thought about clocking out early ( something he felt couldn’t afford to do, either ) , but instead of doing that, he found himself gravitating towards...

      -- the NTT-Brand Emporium.

     Not exactly the place most people would consider a go-to for cheering oneself up, but for Napstaton...

     At the sight of familiar bright blue fur, Napstaton immediately felt the static around the edges fade, even just a bit --- and that made it easier for his smile to widen just a bit more and feel just a bit more genuine.

     “YOOOOOO, Nic-Nic! How’s my favorite grumpy employee doing, huh? I felt like I haven’t seen you in ages, dude! Have you been keeping tabs on my tour in New Home? Hm? Hmmmm??”

       What was with this weird sense of nostalgia that overwhelmed him these days? It was annoying, it was painful, it sucked, and --- he was wallowing again by sprawling himself down on the ground like a giant, metal starfish. But he wasn’t doing this in his room like a normal person would, though --- no, he was laying on the ground in Waterfall, of all places.

      He was pretty sure this place was far enough from Blook Acres... but even then, he was still doing risky things. Like, for example, playing tapes of his old music aloud, too. The superstar DJ was really making a mine field for himself today, wasn’t he?

      Napstaton sighed, hoping that a few hours of feeling like trash in silence could... help lift his spirits (ha) more, but his audio receptors picked up on a soft sound.

      Immediately, the robot shot to sit ram-rod straight. If there was a look of panic on his expression, he didn’t realize it.

      “Y-yo! Who’s there? Y’sneaking on me or something?! Really un-rad, dude!”

     Napstaton’s heard of a human running along the Underground trying to help people and all. And that was nice, but Napstaton had a job to do --- a role to fill in, really.

     He wasn’t so sure if he’d be able to keep up this game he was playing --- but he remembered his promise to Undyne. He had to try his best! Don’t be a weenie now, Napstaton.

     “But look at the bright side, dudeski! At least you get to die hearing my sick tunes! Not every human gets the tubular chance to do that, yeah?”

     “W-well–!” Napstaton’s voice cracked, but he laughed and poised his hand at himself, his entire body trying to feign an air of confidence despite the fact that he literally looked like he was about to implode from embarrassment.

     Even though Blooky wears gloves like, all the time, they still get dirt and shit stuck in the little joints and their ( nonfunctional ) built-in palm weaponry of their hands. So every few days or so, they have to sit themself down and carefully clean that out.

     Napstaton actually owns more than just his stupid blue cap and puffy jacket! Even though he doesn’t have to, he recently got into the idea of pajamas. He’s trying out a bunch, and so far he really likes oversized graphic tee-shirts and boxers with goofy patterns on them.
