Reposted from @mipatria.pr Yesterday we were able to take supplies to Yauco including 2 inverters. We also distributed water and food to the hardest hit areas of Ponce. 50 cases of water and 50 bags of food. Also were able to provide a inverter to a community center that has been providing services to their community with little resources. Thank you to local community leader Indio and other community members that were able to guide us to where the need was the greatest. Thank you to all the volunteers and all the people who donated. Here is footage of some of the work your donations have made happen please keep helping Reposted from @mipatria.pr Today we were able to deliver a pickup truck full of mattresses to Añasco. Tomorrow the rest of them will be delivered. A total of 32 mattresses of all sizes and 14 platform frames. @teamplayaanasco will be distributing them to those in need to the community. Many lost most of their belongings due to flooding. A special thank you to Julie from @berriostedamas in Isabela. She was super helpful and worked with us to be able to get these much needed items to those in need. Also want to thank our volunteer @mr.ocho_ for helping facilitate everything. Tiene 91 años y se desempeñó como Especialista en Transporte del Ejército de los Estados Unidos de 1951 a 1954. Actualmente vive en una casa de madera con techo de zincReside con su esposa quien tiene problemas auditivos y del habla esposa, hija y tres nietas. Su hija Jennifer, que vive con ellos, tiene dos hijas con necesidades especiales. El Sr. Mercado está discapacitado y ayuda a mantener a su familia con una pequeña compensación de VA, pero no es suficiente y su hogar no es seguro. La temporada de huracanes ya ha comenzado. Las termitas están consumiendo lentamente su pequeña casa de madera. No tienen paredes para separar las habitaciones, hay grandes fracturas en la pared de cemento del baño, hay cables eléctricos expuestos, el piso de madera está sostenido por bloques de cemento y está desnivelado. Tanto el Sr. Mercado como su esposa se han caído y han resultado heridos debido a los pisos de madera dañados.
