Literally begging u to post ur psych opinions on here that’s the best show ever I think say what u have to say queen !

im glad u asked anon bc ive been DYING to talk about >:) i think psych has truly mastered the genre of police procedurals while also being a highly nuanced comedy with an incredible amount of references to appeal to literally anyone who watches like i dont wanna spoil any episodes for ppl who havent watched it but the twin peaks episode, the hitchock references in the yin episode, psych: the musical (which i could write a whole nother essay on oh my god), they’re just able to expand the genre and be so flexible with the storyline while still remaining true to the characters and the comedic base of the show?? and i think a lot of it has to do with shawn and gus and their incredible comedic timing like..... talk about a duo!!!!!! litchrally legendary...... and its only made better by the other characters like they dont detract from shawn and gus’s incredible dynamic but rather enhance it

also im pretty sure i once read that at the time the show was airing gus was the only black lead character on a major tv show? sure there r also some questionable jokes and references relating to race and gender and stuff and im definitely not disregarding that but i also wanna give them some credit especially since i <3 dule hill

i think when it comes down to it its just the fact that they took the time to put in those little details like: the episode titles are all rlly creative and funny! the theme song intro changes a bit from season to season and even sometimes for special episodes! the show goes on for 8 seasons and never once gets boring or too over the top ridiculous it just stays the perfect amount of exciting and comforting and it just feels like they care? like not to be a cynic lmao but some shows u watch and it feels like the writers dont give a shit about the audience they just wanna churn out episodes to get views to make money but with psych it doesnt really feel like that to me?? idk maybe im crazy and thinking about it way too hard but just do urself a favor and watch psych <3
