Ok so...recently ive been recreating old psintings (sketching them) to try snd get better and ive been doing a few feom john willism waterhouse. Now hid paintings are often inspired by women feom grewk mythology, for example his circe painting. My nan challanged me to do something like that by myself, come up with it myself.

I really think we as a fandom should call out disgusting fanfic writers. Like I understand it's fictional and not real but it's still scary to think people will wholeheartedly write abusive scenes about a fictional character and psint said character in a bad guy light and then gaslight the audience to think that said character deserves it. And some audience members fall for it and say equally rotten things in the comments. It's dangerous behaviour because at the end of the day people learn from reading be it fictional or not

I don't know which fandom I post about you are speaking of but I'll just assume it's HotD because I've talked about how disgusting I find most of the fanfics.

And I agree. I have been reading and writing fan fiction for years and I understand that it's supposed to be something that a fan can use to expand on characters they love or hate, and I understand that it's normal for people to bash characters they don't like in their fanfics. But there's bashing a character and portraying them the way you see them (aka badly) and then there's sadisticly putting a character you hate through trauma and torturing them in your fics.

I once saw a fan fiction, written by a greenie and rhaenicent, in which Rhaenyra is raped by Aegon and Aemond. And it's framed that Rhae deserves it because of how mean she is to Alicent and the targtowers. That is sadistic and disgusting. Why would anyone write that? Rhaenyra is a loving wife and mother and someone casually wrote a fanfic of her brothers raping her. And we're expected to not call out that behavior because we can just not read it and because it's just fan fiction. I'm not trying to say I'm better than anyone but I HATE Alicent and I would still absolutely never write a fic where she is brutally raped. Because that's horrific and disgusting. Call them out, let them know that is insane behavior.
