Just needs a steek and buttons, and we are finished! . This is my #stonecropcardi by Andrea Mowry. I knit this for our #prscmay2020 KAL in our House Fingering and Homestead Sport . The only modification I made was moving switching the button band sides. I put the button band with the holes on the right side of the cardigan and the solid band that I will sew buttons onto, on the left . I thoroughly enjoyed making the bobbles on this cardigan by using the crochet hook method described in the pattern. It really helped me fly through that portion of the knitting once I got into a rhythm . In the mornings, I have been taking some much needed time to sit in my chair by my side of the bed, and knit. If this pandemic has taught me one thing, it was to how to slow down and enjoy my craft again . . Before I was constantly feeling rushed, and completely drained of energy; leaving me no time or desire to knit. I have taken this time at home, as well as my natural nesting instincts that have been at an all time high since becoming pregnant, to make time for myself and the things that I love. I know it’s a small silver lining, but given how quarantining can wreak havoc on our mental health, it has become something I look forward to every morning and has really helped me . . I finished my #ginnycardigan by Andrea Mowry, and immediately cast on her #stonecropcardi that we are knitting for our May Yarn Club KAL (#prscmay2020). I’m loving every stitch, and found that due to the nature of the pattern and the amount of time it takes to make the bobbles and cables, it is paralleling my practice of slowing down and enjoying my time to knit. Andrea has a fantastic YouTube tutorial on her channel that shows you the Half Double Crochet Bobble technique that I find incredibly helpful, and much more enjoyable then the back and forth and flipping of knit bobbles. I actually look forward to the bobble rows and watching them pop up as I knit my way around the sweater ! . If you are finding that isolation is hurting your mental health, try making time for yourself and the things you love. Use this quarantining as an excuse to slow down and enjoy time to make. Knitting a sweater in 2 weeks was something I haven’t done in years, but the productivity I am experiencing now is really filling me up . . Be well fellow makers.
