Top 5 fav movies
bitchhhhh i hav so many wtf music and movies are my fav things in this world idk where i would b or who i would b without them.. i think about that sm like if i don’t listen to certain music or watch certain vids/shows/movies daily i deadass go insane n want to die n go full homicidal n suicidal without fail idk what that is but shit is apirittttuaaalll. ima give u 5 that i believe are must watch, off of an substance or sober and ones i hav watched 1000000x n still am obsessed w but in no order ok!!! i love cult classic movies n sumtimes wen i say that ppl get confused on wtf i mean by that... but by ‘cult classics’ i think of movies that started it all for their genre/generation n were both creative asf yet super realistic.. so like tovme there amazing cult classic horror films n cult classic psych thrillers that started it all for movies yeaaaaars to come n the majority of ppl ive spoken to either haven’t bothered to watch, didn’t kno it existed or only watch the new ones.. which angerrrrrrs me beyond belief bc wtf???
my oldest cousin on my dads side used to collect vhs when he lived w my aunt n it was mostly always ‘horror’, shit like scream (2,3,4) i know what u did last summer (i still know wydls), urban legend (1998), prom night (i saw this w my dad in theatres i think lol), the original halloween n the sequels except the most recent one lol ect ect so i was introduced to alllll that shit suuuupeer young at like idek 8 years old mayb? mayb younger. n was never scared of any of it surprisingly lol wen i would get random weekends or whatever tf w my dad we would spend time watching movies n then he would show me his favs too which i looooved but they were more psych thrillers like silence of the lambs, the shining, along came a spider (a lot of original Alex cross ones), the bone collector, the sixth sense (AMAZES THE FUCK OUT OF ME HOW MANY PPL DONT KNO BOUT THIS MOVIE??)
I never liked super gory movies tbh which is kinda weird cuz i luv blood?? i jus hate when they try so gory overkill shit with the sound effects n it looks fake n stupid so i avoided watching the saw movies for soooo long BUT THEN i was best friends w a girl who loved the saw series n explained like the entire premise of the Saw movies n realised how well thought out that shit was n then i was soooo fucking into it.. cuz it was more psychological than anything else it’s jus hella gruesome w the pain he inflicts on ppl but he justifies it n i kinda like that shit lmao.
ANYWAY OMG I BEEN RAMBLING BC ADDERALL I NEED TO AHUT THE FUCKCUP. IMA GIVE U 5 FROM AKROSS THE BOARD OK.
i will never not say scream (i could watch it every single day n it was the first of its kind baaaaby i fell inluv w this film the first time i saw its perfect in every way)
remember the titans!!!! (i still remember where i was the v first time i saw this n i thought it was so fucking incredible n it still is u could watch it 30 years from now n it will still hit) in
silence of the lambs (one of the first movies that really got me interested in studying criminology and forensic psychology)
menace II society & straight outta compton (do i even needa explain why... like.. shittennnnme?? iconic)
gia or the bone collector or girl interrupted or the virgin suicides or prozac nation or pulp fiction orrrr like requiem for a dream, donnie darko, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind (but like high), american psycho, fight club, changeling, den of thieves, foxfire, Forrest Gump ect ect the rest would b documentaries but although a lot seem sporadic n all over genres to me they all realistic in so many ways.. i love movies like that. no fanasty bs

Part 8 via Pitchfork an in-depth/review of Dirt Dirt is quite a tough hang, nowhere so much as the mid-album back-to-back paeans to pain. Staley is still buried in his own shit, and things seem to be getting worse. “Junkhead” is a simultaneous ode to heroin and a sneering dismissal of the normies who’ll never know the truth. The refrain—“What’s my drug of choice?/Well, what have you got?/I don’t go broke/And I do it a lot”—is frighteningly celebratory, delivered like a valedictory address from a newly minted 25-year-old rock star who’s reached the absolute apex of fame-fueled addiction. The title track follows like a depressive solo come-down in the hotel after the show, with Staley doubling Cantrell’s opium-den riffs with that same ghoulish moan. They concoct a disconsolate psychedelic requiem, like Sabbath in Prozac Nation. Even in the “I Hate Myself and I Want to Die” moment of hard-rock self-loathing, the second verse of “Dirt” is chilling: “I want you to scrape me from the walls/And go crazy/Like you’ve made me.” The obvious precursors here are Ozzy Osbourne’s “Suicide Solution” and Judas Priest’s “Better By You, Better Than Me”—both of which led to unsuccessful lawsuits from grieving parents of children who died by suicide. But maybe a better comparison is the Geto Boys’ 1990 track “Mind of a Lunatic,” a hyper-detailed gore-fest of murder and mental illness that its own record label initially refused to distribute. Indeed, as Seattle joined Black Los Angeles as the music scene-spectacle du jour, “Junkhead” and “Dirt” sketched a white outlaw icon to join the “gangsta” in the public imagination. But where the Geto Boys and N.W.A. rooted their provocations in a radical, if occasionally contradictory racial politics, the desperate, vengeful addict of Dirt pushes his body and mind to the edge of the abyss mainly to scare the squares. Depression and What You Can Do
According to Nation Health Institute 17.3 million adults or 7.1% of all U.S. adults had at least one major depressive episode in 2017. The CDC reports that in 2019 symptoms of anxiety disorder was 8.1% and in 2020 it is 25.5% of adults in the United States. The CDC also reported that symptoms of depressive disorder was 6.5% in 2019 and 24.3% in 2020. With these staggering numbers mental health is a concern to many. Prozac which is one of the most commonly used medications to help with depression increase serotonin levels. These medications can have many side effects including anxiety. Wouldn’t it be super helpful if there was a way to get serotonin and get rid of your depression without all the side effects and cost of medicine? Well I’m here to help!
95% of Serotonin is Produced in Your Gut!
Basic gut health could help increase serotonin. Getting the bacteria, you need into your gut is super important.
Probiotics to get good bacteria in order to digest food.Probiotic supplements can help but aren’t as helpful as getting the good bacteria from food. Here are some ways you can get the bacteria you need from your diet:
Kombucha (my personal favorite)
Sauerkraut
Kimchi
Pickled Veggies
Cucumbers
Carrots
Radishes
Cauliflower
Sourdough beard
Miso
Increase Tryptophan in your diet
Tryptophan is used to help make serotonin so a deficiency of this amino acid can cause a decrease in mood. Some ways food high in these amino acids are:
Oats
Dried dates
Chickpeas
Almonds
Spirulina
Peanuts
Chocolate
Move Move Move!
Being inactive is will increase your odds of being dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with life 2.5 times higher than those who exercise.
Exercise is Key
Exercise has been proven to have amazing long-term effects on decreasing depression and increasing mood. Physical activity can increase self-esteem and reduce stress and anxiety. There is a 20-30% lower risk for depression for adults who have some form of physical activity.
Low intensity aerobic exercise for 30-35 minutes 3-5 days a week for 10-12 weeks was optimal for increasing mood. Aerobic exercises can be:
Walking
Running
Biking
Swimming
Rowing
Stair-climber/elliptical
Walking 10-15 minutes can be sufficient in positively impacting moods!
Light up Your Life!
Exposure to bright light is used to increase serotonin in patients with seasonal depression and can also be effective for nonseasonal depression.
Get more Sun Light
Getting 20 minutes of sun light or bright light is shown to decrease depressive symptoms. When using this method studies indicated after 40 minutes of light exposure there is no significant benefit, so stick to 20-40 minutes. Light exposure can be from going outside or if you live where there is not a lot of day light in the winter you can get a light box. Light boxes emit bright light up to about 10,000 lux. There are other forms of a light box including a lamp, or visor but all work the same.
If you are struggling with severe depression talk to a doctor or health specialist and incorporate some of these alternatives into your treatment either before starting any treatment or combined with medication and therapy. Depression can take a toll on your life. The world we live in can be scary at times and seem unfair. Your mind and body are capable of so much and you, yes you, are no exception. Happier days can be found, and emotions are a part of the wonderful, crazy, amazing human experience we all have. Never give up on yourself or your happiness. I hope incorporating some of these tricks can improve your mood and overall wellbeing.

Prozac Nation: Young and Depressed in America by Elizabeth Wurtzel
Elizabeth Wurtzel's New York Times best-selling memoir, with a new afterword "Sparkling, luminescent prose . . . A powerful portrait of one girl's journey through the purgatory of depression and back." —New York Times "A book that became a cultural touchstone." —New Yorker Elizabeth Wurtzel writes with her finger on the faint pulse of an overdiagnosed generation whose ruling icons are Kurt Cobain, Xanax, and pierced tongues. Her famous memoir of her bouts with depression and skirmishes with drugs, Prozac Nation is a witty and sharp account of the psychopharmacology of an era for readers of Girl, Interrupted and Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar.
