Goodreads Summary:
I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it. And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are. But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game. Falling for Katy—a human—won't just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen...
My Review:
5 / 5 Stars for Oblivion by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Have you read Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout??
If your answer is yes, then you must know our legendary Alien book boyfriend, Daemon Black!!
When I heard Jennifer came back with her new book, oblivion, which is told from Daemon's point of view. For the most part, I am not a fan of rereading the book because more often than not they're just a way for the author to resell their books without adding anything of consequence within the story. It is usually the same story told from a different perspective in a watered down verisimilitude. I didn't jump on this book when it came out because I knew the story. I knew how it started, how it ended, I knew the character, so yeah, what could be different right? Wrong. There was so much more to this book. Despite my reservations, I ended up reading this book. Because the truth of the matter was I missed the characters tremendously. That's the main reason why I decided to go ahead and read this book and I was blessed with obsidian, onyx and opal in the ebook version of oblivion.
Reading from Daemon Black's pov was beyond and above incredible. It felt as though I was reading the books for the very first time. Oblivion was comical. I don’t know how to put it in words, but Daemon has very comical personality. His personality and his actions was hilarious and yet amazing. He made me laugh out loud throughout the entirety of oblivion. He was amusing and oh so swoon worthy. He is famously known for his sarcastic comments from the original series, but this book just doubled that. This book felt fresh and Daemon's thought process and his sarcasm was glorious and it made this book that much better. He made you smirk and giggle and laugh while keeping you interested to finish the book that much quicker.
“Just thinking about that made me want to punch a hole through the ozone” – Daemon
“I didn’t respond because I was busy mentally punching myself in the face.” –Daemon
“He didn’t get a chance to blink before I introduced his face to the shiny surface of the table. The thump was nice and fleshy and wholly satisfying.” Daemon
“I was so going to duct tape her mouth”- Daemon
Daemon's protective side which I always adored won out in the end. Reading from his pov gave me so many feels. I got high because of him! We need baby Daemon in our lives xD Please Jennifer L. Armentrout give us books with alien babies.
“I don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring, what a year from now is going to be like. Hell, we may end up killing each other over something stupid next week. It’s a possibility. But all I do know is what I feel for you isn’t going anywhere.”
Boring? Never. You can read this book for hours on end without getting bored. I just wish the author had rewritten the last two books in Daemon's pov as well. So, definitely go check this book out, the ebook, because the physical book only has obsidian in it whereas the ebooks has obsidian, onyx, and opal in it.

My Review:
4 / 5 Stars for Dawn of Dreams by Bronwyn Leroux
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was convinced by the author who described this book as YA science fiction romance genre. I will never refuse romance.
In my opinion Dawn of Dreams is not purely science fiction; it’s a mix between science fiction and fantasy. This book has an eccentric beast-like character which you will not find in any other book. Each animal was unique and seemed so glorious and so majestic that you could almost picture them as living, breathing, real things you’d find in reality. I loved the beast. Here let me quote you one of the beasts from the books.
“Huge and like nothing he had ever seen before, its neck was disproportionately long for something that should be a bird. Not only was the neck too long, but it also appeared to have some sort of scaly armor sticking out at odd angles along its length. And the tail was not the tail of a bird, but what appeared to be the hard-shelled stinger of a scorpion” – Jaden
Isn't it so peculiar? But to the contrary these beasts don’t leave in remote areas rather they lived in the world which was so advanced in technology. The book is set in the year 2073 and there were many dissimilar things from reality, but they were all written in a very believable manner. This was a plus for the author who could create this kind of ambiance in a book. Both of them together affected the plot line of the story very much. I flew through this book because I was not only intrigued by the premise of it but also because my curiosity level was peaked with every twist and turn the book took. The whole story is built like a puzzle which sort of drowns you the more you plunge forward deeper into the depths of the story. I loved it! The other thing I loved was the science fiction part of it. I’m not a huge sci-fi reader so this book really enthralled me.
The world the author created was so beautiful. She set everything from school systems to the urban layout, and the city layout in such a way that it all seemed real. A scene that comes to mind is how Jaden and his mom cleaned out the house regularly every year in order either to “return to the closet” or “donated” their things Jaden and his mother organized everything in a very particular way. They had the box with pre-coded color
“Orange for the clothes, blues for sport gear and green for miscellaneous, “ – Jaden
For someone who loves romance within novels, that was the only part I didn’t like. The romance was lacking in many ways. I couldn’t understand the attraction between Jaden and Kayla not was I excited to see them form a relationship. I just couldn’t connect with them as their relationship progressed through the book. Even though the author tried to show their attraction to each other I just couldn’t get into it. It wasn’t felt natural for me. It felt almost like it was too forced. Aside from the romance though I enjoyed this book wait for the second book to be release!
Because I know their adventure has just began..

Goodreads Summary:
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016. It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
My Review:
5 / 5 Stars for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Part One and Two by J.K Rowling, John Tiffany, Jack Thorne
I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. To be honest, I started reading this book without any expectations. It was just pure excitement because I was finally able to meet them again, the coolest and the most infamous gang ever, the Harry Potter Team.
I got to see the beloved characters in a slightly different lens. The main cast of characters, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and Draco, were older and I absolutely loved them all very much. Hermione’s and Draco’s relationship was extremely entertaining to read about. Their relationship was ranked second for me personally as a favorite. It was both fun and cute to say the least. Without a doubt, their scene always made me grin from ear to ear. The interactions between the two were pure joy to read about.
“Hermione Granger, I’m being bossed around by Hermione Granger. And I’m Mildly enjoying it”. – Draco
Now that I’ve mentioned my second favorite relationship within the book, you guys must be curious as to which relationship was my favorite. Well,of course it has to be Albus Severus Potter’s and Scorpius Malfoy’s friendship! They were like yin and yang. Their personalities were dissimilar and yet they had this synergy between them. It was quite stupendous to see the interact. Highly fascinating! Albus is a hot tempered, complicated, and reckless kind of boy meanwhile surprisingly a Malfoy, Scorpius is book smart, innocent, and kind hearted.
“You know what annoys me most id all? Dad will think we did it deliberately” – Albus
“Albus. Really? I mean, really really? We’re – trapped – lost – in time – probably permanently – and you’re worrying what your dad might think about it ? I will never understand the two of you.” – Scorpius
The plotline is well built. I enjoyed every second and minutes of their adventure. The only issue I had when I initially jumped into the book was the way it was written. The script format was somewhat hard and slightly strange for me to read in the beginning. Script format has this very significant flaw which is its lack of details. As we already know The amount of details and description afforded to the original series was off the charts. Those books dripped with excruciating details hence my disappointment with this somewhat for it not being the same. Okay, it is safe to say that is my only complaint for this book. Other than that, I adored everything about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. 330 pages are not enough, particularly when it was in script format!! I want more!
Until next time - IS

My Review :
First of all , I want to tell you that this review was wrote by me who use English as my second language
3 / 5 Stars of The Last Valentine by Felix Alexander
I scrolled through my twitter timeline for my next reading books recommendation a few weeks ago. And I stumbled upon this intriguing mystery novel by an indie author, Felix Alexander. If you follow me, you must know that I am a hopeless romance reader to the core. But for the past 8 months I extended my area of reading including nonfiction, classic, memoir, mystery and other genres (you can look at my other reviews to get a better idea). That’s why when I read The Last Valentine’s synopsis, I got the vibe this novel would help me make my scope of reading all more richer.
The story is set in Old Sienna, Puerto Rico in 1935. I knew next to nothing about Old Sienna and thus the premise became all the more intriguing. I ended up googling and gathering all sorts of pictures and information on Old Sienna, Puerto Rico, 1935 just to help myself get immerged within the story.
The story started off with a murder case and the chief police inspector found love letters as the only leading evidence. Unfortunately, he lost that piece of evidence and this is where the story grows more intense and more puzzles to introduced which are later solved. Truthfully, I was so mesmerized by the story during 26% progress of my reading because I desired to know what happened and how this case was linked to every character.
This book brought up very fascinating topics about love and marriage up and how things were in 1935. The purpose of marriage was to form alliances and secure family’s future, not the notion of love. This situation made unequal social layer where love even if it was true love was categorized as forbidden love.
The author’s writing style is almost lyrical, melodic and rich in vocabulary. The writing enhanced the beauty of these stories including the vivid sceneries that the author managed to paint within this novel with words alone. I cannot seem to make up my mind with the conclusion if The Last Valentine is a mystery novel with romance as an adding ingredient or vice versa even after I finished the book.
“The day waits for the sunrise and the night waits for sunset. This is how I wait for you, without regard for time, because I know you will return to me when you are ready”
“The longing in a stolen glance, the confession lingering on his lips, and the agony of unfulfilled desire swirling in his heart, like a breeze on a deserted mountainside. At that moment, he realized another shared his pain.”
“Love is the only memory one never loses, because even if one loses his mind the memory always remains in the heart”
Other facts that I love from this book are every characters who stand out in their own beautiful uniqueness. Each of them has their own insight about love based on their own history. They all oblivious to the fact that all those loves eventually link them together. There was one mythical character that I was oh so fond of. Every time he showed up even for only a couple of scene, it got me in creepy but curios mode. I won’t give you any spoilers or hints, but this character somehow managed to not only develop the story’s mystery and romance side of things but another genre hmmm… fantasy maybe? Hehehe
Now the big question, why did I gave 3 stars?
First, I did praise the author in his rich vocabulary but English is my second language, it impacted enjoyment of the overall story and at times pulled me out of the story completely. There times where I literally had to stop myself from reaching for a dictionary in order to get better understanding. Every time I stumbled upon words which I hadn’t heard before, I had to open the dictionary only to resume reading a couple of line back to understand the whole thing. Furthermore, this book has less conversation, and most of the story is written in wordy paragraphs. Some of the paragraphs have grammatical error and missing punctuations. So yeah, I hope you can imagine why this problem definitely slowed me down and annoyed me a lot because I could not fully take pleasure in reading The Last Valentine. Second, the slow pace of the story kind of interfered with my reading. I told in the first paragraph above that I enjoyed The Last Valentine during 26% progress (I realized that the beginning had been far more fast paced) and after that the story slowed considerably though the ending really got me in the feels. I had thought I knew the direction the novel was heading managed at 78% of reading though I never expected the coming ending we got.
Overall, my instinct was right. This book made from reading richer not only in scope of genre matters but also in vocabulary. Thanks to Mr. Felix Alexander. I found poem on a whole new level. I still recommend this book to you guys who are not having any difficulty in English though. I do believe you will enjoy it even read it in just one sitting :)

Short books review
hello bookish fellas, it has been a while since i posted any book review..
cause here I am again stuck.. in a reading slump !
I only managed to read two books and one novella this past 4 months and this post is my short book review for them
1. 1/5 Stars from One with You by Sylvia Day
I am so sorry Ms Sylvia Day, in my opinion this book even has slower pace than the previous installment. No offense, I did like the first three books of crossfire series but in “one with you” I found the line between Eva and Gideon was just too cheesy for my taste. There was couple of times i contemplated between continue or stop read this book. This story is the reason I felt into a very huge reading slump.
“she does love me the best way she knows how. Just because it’s not always the way I want her to doesn’t mean it’s not precious for what it is” - Eva
2. 4/5 Stars for Arrive by Nina Lane
Even tough its only has 93 pages , i was very satisfied. Spiral of bliss series is one of my favorite adult romance. I LOVE IT TO MY BONES.
The plot built smoothly and i never thought pregnancy sex would be so smexy before. ops!
Surprisingly, my favorite scene was the process of childbirth. The pain, the contractions, the delivery were got under my nerves. it was like I felt the exact anxiety and pain like the one liv had to endure. Lucky Liv, she has VERY heartwarming PROFESSORS as husband who is not only HOT but also VERY HUSBAND MATERIAL! #heartcannottakeit #bestfictionhusbandever
Thank you Nina for gifted us with this beautiful short stories!
”You’re sugary and sweet like a doughnut. Not to mention you have a delicious hole.” - Dean (LOL)
3. 3/5 Stars for Iniquity by Amy A Bartol
slow pace plot.
i'm just really sick of Evie having like more than one love interests.. even after the long 5 books...
But gladly we have the truth revealed in this last installment. it was the only thing that got my attention and give three solid stars for this final from premonition series.Bye bye , My Guardian Angel Reed ..
P.s: why I always think Reed deserves more than just someone like evie.. sorry

Neon Genesis Evangelion Summary:
In the year 2015, the Angels, huge, tremendously powerful, alien war machines, appear in Tokyo for the second time. The only hope for Mankind's survival lies in the Evangelion, a humanoid fighting machine developed by NERV, a special United Nations agency. Capable of withstanding anything the Angels can dish out, the Evangelion's one drawback lies in the limited number of people able to pilot them. Only a handful of teenagers, all born fourteen years ago, nine months after the Angels first appeared, are able to interface with the Evangelion. One such teenager is Shinji Ikari, whose father heads the NERV team that developed and maintains the Evangelion. Thrust into a maelstrom of battle and events that he does not understand, Shinji is forced to plumb the depths of his own inner resources for the courage and strength to not only fight, but to survive, or risk losing everything. (Source: AniDB)
My Review:
5 / 5 Stars for Neon Genesis Evangelion by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto
Hello reader, been a long time Fyuuh… finally I have the time to make this manga review. The reason for the delay of this review was because I am slightly fearful this review will not adequately express how freaking good this manga is! ! FYI this is my first time reading a mecha and post-apocalyptic manga genre. My friend who is a diehard fan of Eva successfully convinced me there romance within this manga and thus I reluctantly agreed to read it. Oh lord! The truth is, no romance detected, however amazingly enough I was drawn into the characters and it didn’t matter whether there was or there wasn’t romance in it.
The main-series Neon Genesis Evangelion manga started running in Japan in 1995, towards the end of the anime production. English translations started being released in 2004, and both languages completed their fourteen volumes run between late 2014 and early 2015.
At first, I was a bit under pressure when I read this manga because I am a novella reader, not a graphic book reader. I am not a multitasked person therefore I can’t focus on the graphics and on the dialogue at the same time. It was without a doubt slowed me down whilst consuming this manga. However, by the time I reached volume three I had gotten fairly used to the concept of reading and taking in the images at the same time. This manga clearly illustrated the fight scenes depicted in it. The heroic acts and the robotic fight to save the world were done incredibly well. But for me though, I felt what it really portrayed was about a boy’s struggles to learn how to deal with other people—a character’s observation and study of the double-edged sword of loneliness and companionship. The author did an amazing job illustrating how complex each and every character truly is within the manga and due to that unconsciously made me gloomy and depressed on bright days when I had no reason to be depressed. This goes to show how wonderful the author was at drawing up those emotions within the reader.
The characters of Evangelion struggle with their interpersonal relationships, their personal problems, and traumatic events in their past. These are brief explanation some of the main character :
Shinji Ikari is the series protagonist and the designated pilot of Evangelion Unit-01. After witnessing his mother Yui Ikari's death as a child, Shinji was abandoned by his father, Gendo Ikari. He is emotionally hyper-sensitive and sometimes does as expected out of fear of rejection, but he has often rebelled and refused to pilot the Eva because of the extremely excruciating harm that has been done to him, or done to his friends (source:Wikipedia) Asuka Langley Soryu is a child prodigy who pilots Evangelion Unit-02 and possesses a fiery temper and an overabundance of pride and self-confidence, which often gets her in trouble and difficulty, especially during battles. As a little girl, Asuka discovered the body of her mother shortly after she committed suicide, leading the child to repress her emotions and vow never to cry. (Source:Wikipedia) Misato Katsuragi is the caretaker and commanding officer for Shinji and Asuka. Her professional demeanor at NERV contrasts dramatically with her carefree and irresponsible behavior at home. Misato has an Electra complex and is consumed with conflicting love and hate for her father. (Souce:Wikipedia) The withdrawn and mysterious pilot of Evangelion Unit-00, Rei Ayanami (Source:Wikipedia)
The plot itself was so amazingly built up. It built little by little until you were so absorbed emotionally in the story that it keeps turning page after page. I have to say it was amazeball! and I cried a lot T__T
My final thought is this manga is worth a read! It looks like they show you nothing explicitly, but believe me they show you everything implicitly! You may not understand what I mean reading my review but once you have read this manga, YOU WILL UNDERSTAND !
Stay safe and Happy reading, fellas! Until next time :)

Amazon Summary:
This book is the result of seventeen years research in analyses of the human brain as a computer. The book is written by a computer technician and is illustrated with graphs tables and charts, (sounds complicated?). The book is written in an easy to understand format particularly for the young reader to understand. The book has a foreword written by Gemma Hughes Bsc Hons psychology. This book has an extensive coverage on what causes mental illness and how to avoid it, also, there is extensive coverage and an answer to the age old problem of what is love?
My Review:
5/ 5 The Brain Natures Own Computer
“if you can read this books then you are very lucky to be alive in such a time period to be able to read such book” – Anthony Johns
In the beginning of The Brain Natures Own Computer the author explains this book is primarily for children, and people that do not read science or know very little about science in general. In my opinion, the author did deliver this book in a decent manner. Whilst reading this book it did not feel like any other science book I’ve read, but rather this book in particular somehow managed to peak my interest effortlessly. It felt as thought I read a science research journal or an except, which is easier to digest. Due to the writing style and how the book is structured it was easier to understand, and was enticing, but also less stressful than a normal science related book would be.
This book starts with a strong point which in a way prods the reader to think behind what they would normally. This book is thought provoking and makes people question things.
“What is the point of life if we are just machine? The point of life is to enjoy life to the full, enjoy every minute of it, and live it to the full: to give and receive love”
I always have soft spot for topics such as, “what makes us human” or “mental illness” but every book or journal that I’ve ever read is nothing compared to this book. The author explains “feelings” and “love” in a scientific manner which will make you nod your head if you agree with some of the statements or wrinkle your forehead with some statements that you may or may not agree with. We are introduced to a simple system process in our brain which is called positive future drives and negative future drives. They are the significant parts which influence our mental stability.
Alas, every theory and research is mind boggling. I’ve highlighted more than half of the book because each and every line in there was stupendously written. And of course that’s one of my many reasons for loving this book, I love quoting books! HAHAHA *believe me this is by far the most highlighted book on my kindle.
This book is divided into religious parts and evolutionary parts. I believe not all of you will agree 100% with the author’s explanation in each aspect. As for myself, I did not see anything atrociously negative about this book, or something that I disagreed with wholeheartedly. But that being said, everyone has different beliefs and opinions thus you may not agree with what the author has written within this book. Life is all about doing good things, happiness and acceptance. One must not feel obligated to change because of the pressure put on them or because a book points out something. We are creatures of habit thus cannot and should not change ourselves in accordance what some say.
My only critic is there are some typos here and there which need further editing. I want to review more about this book, but it may spoil the book for you guys. I don’t want to ruin your experience or your enthusiasm whilst reading this book. After I read this book, I feel I am more aware of what mental illness is; what causes it and how to prevent more serious nervous breakdown. You will get knowledge about love, why do you get attracted to someone in a scientific approach (This was also my fave). This book seriously blew my mind in terms of mental illness, as far as I can bring to a close conclusion is I am one of them.
“This life us a one shot deal, the only chance you get, don’t give up, fight to survive, you must take steps to enjoy your life!” – Anthony Johns

Goodreads Summary:
From New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones comes the fourth and final part in the sexy, suspenseful The Secret Life of Amy Bensen series—finally revealing the long-awaited wedding between Amy and Liam. But with the explosive secret they’re hiding, will their enemies ever let them live happily ever after? For six long years I lived on the run, in fear and devastated by loss. That began to change the day I met Liam Stone, who is so much more than his money and power, and even the protection he has offered me. He is passion. He is friendship. He is love and happiness, and the man who made my enemies his own. And now with his help, the secret that drove me into hiding is buried, our enemies contained. Liam and I can finally start our life and put this behind us. The nightmare is over. Unless…it’s not.
My Review:
3/ 5 Stars for Unbroken by Lisa Renee Jones
UNBROKEN is the fourth and final installment from The Secret Life of Amy Bensen Series.
The basic and main premise of the story follows what happened after Forsaken. In this case it was, Liam wanting desperately to do anything and everything to make Amy happy and of course to marry her.
“And in case you don’t know. Any place you are is a home to me” - Liam
He has to gather all high ranking resources in order to protect Amy and to prevent their past from repeating itself all over again. For this reason, we get to meet two new characters which I adored so very much, Josh and Dante. Even though they only have a few scenes in this short story, I admit the author represented Josh and Dante as almost robust personalities really well. As a result, we cannot help but get rather attached to them and instantly love these new characters. I honestly did love Josh and Liam together, and cherished the witty banter they had throughout the story.
“Oh no. I’m no Stone Man. I only have millions. And I’m much better looking than him.”
“whatever makes you feel better when you get up in the morning Josh”
– Josh & Liam
“Would I kill someone? Yes, in appropriate, necessary situation” – Dante
The main emphasis of this 132 paged final installment was on Amy and Liam relationship. I went into this book anticipating and expecting the author, Lisa, would deliver something with hardcore suspense and romance scenes like the previous installment. However, unfortunately I felt a tad bit disappointed because unbroken turned out to have a slower –pace. At first I was about to give it 2.5 Stars, but because there were some surprises in the storyline from old characters which I SINCERELY DID LOVE (I BET YOU WILL LOVE THOSE SURPRISE TOO) I ended up giving it 3 stars instead.
Until Next time XO

Goodreads Summary :
I won’t write it down, since it contains spoiler ! :)
My Review :
- 5/5 Stars for Forsaken by Lisa Renee Jones
Okaaaay!
Honestly this is my favorite so far from the series .. Secret has been revealed but not yet resolved completely! I feel like the last 30% of the manga is a bit too rushed. I would've liked to see more in depth progression leading to the end because the way it is now it flies over some of the things. So, it makes me a bit unhappy since it was rushed but don't get me wrong I do love the ending .. I believe You will do!
This story has different vibe from the other two books. Forsaken is more fun to read, full of thrilling suspense, passionate relationship, money and power! It has everything you could ask from a manga and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling it so I'll end the review here. Last,,, I just wanna said This is a must read from me! So, go and READ IT!
Until next time bookish!

My Review :
-5 / 5 Stars of Absolute Boyfriend by Watase Yuu
I do love WATASE YUU SO MUCH, so when I saw a complete set of her series in a thrift shop. I bought it without batting an eye!
One thing that I like the most from Watase Yuu and I believe it distinguishes her from other manga authors is her use cutting edge technology element weaved within her works.
Absolute boyfriend is so hilarious !! I laughed out loud whilst reading this manga in the middle of my lunch break at the office, and I couldn't stop because it so darn hilarious. The manga was extremely engaging and entertaining.
As the tittle said absolute boyfriend, watase yuu introduce us to the perfect character, the perfect boyfriend so to speak who isn't human but rather is a robot. Since I cannot fathom or imagine there being a actual PERFECT human being, this made the manga feel more realistic in a manner and this little fact made the storyline more enjoyable for me. Also, have I mentioned how stupendously humours this manga is?
Honestly, I was so intrigued by the story, from the moment Night showed up! My curiosity got the better of me and I had to read this book asap when I bought the boxset just so I could see how the relationship between a human and a robot would end up or begin? :p
ughh... the feeels...

I am in a huge reading slump for roughly 3 months already. But last week, I miss reading very much my heart is hurt. I told myself, “okay! I need to get back into reading life and I need to read suspense romance genre!” The next thing happened was I already in my TBR folder scrolled through all of suspense romance. I need to choose carefully since I was in my reading slump. I need book with the story line which could hold me interested to read until the last page. After thought for about a day, I finally chose Escaping Reality.
Goodreads Summary:
Infinite possibilities…. Infinite passion….. Infinite danger…. His touch spirals through me, warm and sweet, wicked and hot. I shouldn’t trust him. I shouldn’t tell him my secrets. But how do I not when he is the reason I breathe? He is what I need. At the young age of eighteen, tragedy and a dark secret force Lara to flee all she has known and loves to start a new life. Now years later, with a new identity as Amy, she’s finally dared to believe she is forgotten–even if she cannot forget. But just when she lets down her guard, the ghosts of her past are quick to punish her, forcing her back on the run. On a plane, struggling to face the devastation of losing everything again and starting over, Amy meets Liam Stone, a darkly entrancing recluse billionaire, who is also a brilliant, and famous, prodigy architect. A man who knows what he wants and goes after it. And what he wants is Amy. Refusing to take “no” as an answer, he sweeps her into a passionate affair, pushing her to her erotic limits. He wants to possess her. He makes her want to be possessed. Liam demands everything from her, accepting nothing less. But what if she is too devastated by tragedy to know when he wants more than she should give? And what if there is more to Liam than meets the eyes?
My Review:
- 3 / 5 Stars for Escaping Reality by Lisa Renee Jones
Amy is a kind of a mundane character. There isn’t anything extraordinarily special about her personality. I keep going back and forth between somewhat liking her and despising her as I read the novel. I won’t spoil why though; you’ll have to read it by yourself though.
“A lie is all that I am” - Amy
In contrast, her love interest, Liam has a terribly domineering and strong personality. I kind of like him. If you hate overassertive and officious men, I recommend you to stay away from this book.
“You want to fuck or you don’t. I am not a yo-yo anymore than you are my mathematical equations.” – Liam
How are Amy and Liam together?
Unfortunately, it’s an instant love and therefore, it fell flat for me and it seemed as though the characters lacked a connection. The sexual tension which transformed into lust between them was a bit too rushed in my opinion. How can you fall for someone you’ve known for no more than five minutes prior?
Author Lisa Renee Jones did a great job in delivering a suspense filled novel. The storyline has a strong plot which kept me wanting to read more despite not getting attached to the characters themselves. Have you ever read a book which left you with a million questions on the last page? Or have you read an entire book but you still have no idea what has happened with the characters? Or much worse, who are the characters? I read the entirety of the book and yet I KNOW NOTHING. The author isn’t very forth coming with answers; thus I’m left with more questions to ponder over. There is a full-size mystery, and lots of pieces of the puzzle to try to work out. Lisa also wrote great steamy hot sex scenes, very detailed, very intense which personally I think is somewhat vulgar yet not gross at the same time.
All in all, I thought this first book has a steamy sex story more than the suspense element itself. The focus is more on the romance/lust side of things than progressing the story itself and for some that might be a reason to read this novel. I for one though would’ve preferred a bit more storyline development. That’s why I gave this novel three stars. But gosh, this book has an explosive ending. The cliffhanger is what gripped me the most. The ending had me beyond intrigued to find out what happens and that cliffhanger is making me want to read the second books “Infinite possibilities” asap.
“I guess ghosts are like lies. They swim like sharks all around me.”

My Review:
4 Stars / 5 Stars for Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
For almost four years I never read young adult genre. I spent these past four years reading adult suspense and fantasy genre. Why? That’s easy because I am no longer a young adult. I made a promise with myself in the beginning of this year, I will read more books in the young adult genre. After doing some research, I decided to start with this hyped book, Fangirl. When I first saw this book, the title caught my eye; it was so relatable to me because I spend my whole life as a fangirl.
Cath is an introvert girl who has an anxiety disorder. She is a teenager who grew up without her mother to nurture her and her twin, Wren, who she loves so much but chooses to part ways from her when they go to college. She has roommate with the most sarcastic personality, Reagan (she is my ultimate favorite character in this book!). Reagan introduces Cath to Levi who is starkly different from Cath in some ways. He is bright and radiant, lit from the inside with happiness. This storyline is focused on the dilemmas Cath faces between herself, her twin, her father, her mother, her passion and her close friend.
Cath has a vibrant personality which feels real. She is such a relatable character which makes her feel alive almost.
She is distraught because her mother left and that is the major reason she is the way SHE IS.
“You don’t get to be the mother if you show up after kids are already grown up. She’s like all those animals who show up at the end of the story to eat the Little Red Hen’s bread. Back when we needed her, she wouldn’t even return our phone calls. When we started our periods, we had to Google the details. But now, after we’ve stopped missing her, after we stopped crying for her ---- after we’ve got shit figured out --- now she wants to get know us? I didn’t need a mother now, thanks. I’m good” – Cath
“I don’t trust anybody. Not anybody. And the more that I care about someone, the more sure I am They’re going to get tired of me and take off”.
She is indeed a hardcore fangirl. She writes fan fiction as her tribute as a fangirl. What I respect about Cather’s personality is how she pursues her hobbies and passion into another serious level, which is her career path.
Now, let’s talk about the romance part, if I have to describe in two word, it would be “delightfully adorable.” Rainbow Rowell is a wonderful author, and although this is a young adult, she can write a romance part that I honestly really enjoyed. The romance was done right and without the use of cheesy lines, it felt fresh and innocent. The author wrote it and the entirety of the book with an affectionate passion which made me grin from ear to ear like an idiot. I liked how Levi always made Cath feel comfortable and didn’t show his affection too much and I think that is precisely what I love about him the most.
“Levi, don’t. This happens all the time” – Cath
“This happen all the time?” – Levi, with eyebrow jerked up
“You don’t get to look at them that way, just because they look alike. You fucking pervert.” – Levi to stranger pervert
“Cather. I know you’re capable of carrying this. But I’m not capable of letting you. I literally couldn’t walk next to you empty handed. It’s nothing personal; I’d do this for anyone with two X chromosomes.” – Levi
“Take off your glasses."
"Why? I thought you liked my glassess."
"I love your glasses. I especially love the moment when you take them off.”
This book is written from third person POV. I rarely read books from third person POV, so it definitely slowed me down whilst I read. There are two things I didn’t like about this book. First, it is one of those books with a slower pace to it, at least that’s how it felt for me anyhow. I finished this book in approximately a month and a half. At times I had to just put the book down and pick it up again in another 4 days. Second, the parts with Cath’s fan fiction, Carry on, bored me at times. I think showed up way too frequently and I didn’t get any attachment for the fan fiction parts. They did not interest me as much as the overall story did and thus I would have liked to see less of the fan fiction in the novel itself.
Overall, this is a book I would suggest to teenagers to read. It enlightens teenagers who are going through maturity. It gives us a glimpse on how as you move on in your life, how you will meet new people, new opportunities, new obstacles and people will always change. You will be inevitably go through ups and downs. The novel illustrates the emotional turmoil people go through, but it also shows how being strong and having close knit relationships can help you overcome and persevere. Growing up is not always easy especially when you have to give up your lighthearted, seemingly childish hobbies. But if those childish hobbies make you happy, then don’t give up on them when growing up. The importance of growing up is you stay true to yourself. Changing because you want to change is different than changing because someone tells you to change. Life is all about happiness and acceptance, and therefore one must not feel obligated to change because of the pressures put on them.
“I choose you over everyone”

My Review:
- 6 SOLID STARS / 5 STARS for The Swan and The Jackal by Ja Redmerski
“Because love is pain… Because love is the greatest scam of all time. And because as much as I fucking love you, I hate you for inflicting it upon me”- Seraphina
If you think you will be disappointed when you start reading this book (because yeah there isn’t much of Izabel and Victor here), you are completely and utterly wrong. Fredrik’s back and his recent story is outrageously captivating. J A Redmerski said this isn’t a love story… oh dear! But this whole book is indeed a freaking messed up love story between mentally messed up people.
Fredrik is a broken soul bastard who likes torturing people for his pleasure. I am cautioning you the torture part is immensely beastly, disgusting, creepy, displeasing and mucky. His trademark “say goodbye to your nail” is the most ugghhh worthy part for me. While reading this book I wanted to stop and to throw up because it was so gruesome yet I could not and did not want to stop reading it. At times it felt like I was the one suffering despite all of his victim. #thatistheultimatepain #omg
“The past has shaped me, molded me into a monster. A monster with a persecuted heart and a dead soul.” – Fredrik
“Attachment make us weak and vulnerable. They Fuck with our emotion. And I don’t like my emotions fucked with” - Fredrik
Seraphina, what is a perfect word to characterize her?
She is dangerous.
She is no human soul.
She is worse than Fredrik. SHE IS THE EPITOME OF AN EVIL SPIRIT.
“I feel like I’ve just been introduced to a man who looks like me, yet is so very different on the inside that nothing makes sense anymore. I’m staring into a mirror at my doppelgänger and all I want to do is kill him fucking dead so that I can feel normal again. So I can be in control again. So that I can go back to not caring about her again.” – Seraphina
You will hypnotize from the very first page. The way JA Redmerski wrote the story in dual perspective of Fredrik and Cassia, makes us as readers blend well with the characters and the story line. As a consequence, your mind is their mind, their curiosity is your curiosity, their pain and suffering is your pain and suffering, and when they cry you without a doubt will cry too.
This is a beautiful heart wrenching and tear-able love story. It tells each of us that a living person despite being a criminal or a sinner in this life has a light and love deep in their hearts. Yes, it’s true that the dark would embrace the other dark, but it never is going to redeem the darkness itself. The ultimate things that can enlighten the dark is the light.
“Love always comes first” – Fredrik
“I fell in love with probably the most mentally fucked up woman on the planet” - Fredrik
Furthermore, the story isn’t just about Fredrik and his uncertainty of love, but we also have get a glimpse of Izabel and Victor. We have get a better look at the relationship between Izabel and Fredrik, Izabel and Victor, Dorian and even Niklas. This is what JA means that you can’t read the story as a standalone because you will lose the importance of their relationships with each other.
JA knows how to entertain us, but at the same time is torturing us. You can visualize every scene in your head clearly. It does not feel like you are reading words on a page but rather seems like you are watching a movie. This proves that she is indeed a spectacular author!!
The Swan & the Jackal was brilliantly paced with twists and continuing shocking revelations. The plot continually blows your mind, leaves you open mouthed at times, and rips your heart out as you try to hold back tears in THE END!!!!! OH MY GOD!! The third book in this series is without a doubt the best!! If you want a story about a tortured soul but with a heart that loves beyond the depths of reality, then in company of killer series is definitely for you!
“There will be no one after her. There will be nothing afterher except the shell of a man I was before we met”- Fredrik

[Book Adaptation Movie Review] Allegiant
I know the two previous movies’ plots had steered away from the book. So I went to the cinema without any expectation for Allegiant. To my surprise, I did enjoy the movie!!
Allegiant started with Tobias/Four and Tris kissing in the top of abandoned building. They are shortly disturbed by Evelyn (the temporary Leader who is also Tobias’s Mom). She makes an announcement that the criminal trial will begin soon. I was pleased with this because it picks up exactly after what happened in the end of Insurgent movie.
The fundamental idea of the contaminated earth and the fringe is in the movie. But the execution of it is nothing like in the book. Chicago is all red and looks like Planet Mars and the fringe clan’s physical appearance doesn’t terrify me like it did in the book. But it was okay though for me. The radiant is getting me to realize this is a very likely possibility for our future; the global climate issue. Nothing is impossible, if we keep being careless with this earth, that visualization in the movie will be happening in our future.
The movie has somewhat of a slow-fast pace. Why? Because sometimes it is slow and made me cringe hard.Sometimes it is so fast you didn’t see what is coming and it’s kind of cool!!Even though the action scene isn’t as intense and thorny as in the book, all the action scenes are awe-inspiring. The action packed scenes supported by dope cinematography were what really got me engaged in the movie.
For me Shane’s acting is okay, same as in the two previous movies. But Oh my goodness, Theo James’ acting was what really hooked me since the start of the movie. There is a scene when he is just standing with his back side to us, and I was still drooling over him. How Is he in the action packed scenes? Duh!! *it indeed pleased my eyes and fulfilled my heart.* Hahahahaha…He really captivated me, he wholly brought out our beloved Four, the one we swoon over in the book. Ansel Elgort as caleb and his dorkiness is fun to watch. I laughed multiple times during his scenes, especially when Caleb and Peter were together XD. Peter oh Peter, there is a moment I want to punch him in the face because he is the epitome of a jerk, but other times I feel sympathy for him. If an actor/actress can turn our emotion up and down like that in my opinion they are a great actress/actor. Miles Teller is a great, perfect Peter!
My final thought: I give it4 Stars /5 Stars. I believe some of you will feel this is a 2 stars movie because it doesn’t follow the books very well (sorry to say they change almost everything from the books). The acting and the cinematography are what bring me to the conclusion that this was a good movie. Tbh I gave 2 stars for the Allegiant book because it got a tad bit boring with the plot and the ending, they’re just errr. But I was entertained watching this movie, and I feel fulfilled. In reality books do things movies can’t and vice versa. Movies can’t ever follow books word for word. They are separate entities. Books are so special in our hearts. That’s why we choose living in book world.

But there is one test that Izabel must face that has the potential to destroy everything she is working so hard to achieve. One final test that will not only make her question her decision to want this dangerous life, but will make her question everything she has come to trust about Victor Faust.
My Review:
– 5/5 Stars for Reviving Izabel by JA Redmerski
I did not set a higher expectation when I started reading this sequel, because usually if the first book made such a strong impression the sequel doesn’t ever exceed the first book’s excitement. But I was wrong! I was totally wrong!!! “Reviving Izabel” is far more unfathomable, dark and brutal than “Killing Sarai” even some of the scenes were a tad bit disturbing to me. This book is freakin phenomenal!!
In Reviving Izabel, JARedmerski lets Sarai dive deep in The Order world, Killing World. It means we also get acquainted with how the assassin organization recruits its member, operates and executes its mission.
Victor rocks my world!! He always is my favorite and I was drooling over him through the entire book. He left the order and he is the most wanted man dead or alive. Every day is a death sentence for him. That’s why he refuses to take Sarai along with him; because it means Sarai will also be in danger.
“You’re sleeping with an assassin, running for your life every single day from men who want to kill you and you’re convinced you’re going to die of discomfort.” – Victor
But Sarai is Sarai, persistent and a manipulator badass woman. If you like her in the first book, you will love her even more in the second book. She got her “normal” life, but she can’t live peacefully knowing there are bastards and terrible people still free out there. She had tasted the killer world, and her instinct to kill is on the edge every single day.
“When you’re that different from society, from what’s acceptable in society, finding someone just like you is a very rare thing.” – Sarai
She is meaner and braver. She knows what she wants and what she’s getting herself into. Ughh girl.. Sarai is a girl that I want to gay for.
“I chose this life. I’m not a child, Victor. You can’t sit me down and tell me that what I did was OK, that I have a right to make mistakes. Because in this life mistakes get you killed.” – Sarai
Now let’s talk about the romance. I got great pleasure from the romance plot!! It’s just the two of them, no one else. They are learning to trust each other. I really enjoyed their dynamic. They are a kickass killer couple! You want real raw hot suspense romance, READ THIS STORY.
You’re not in love with me?“ he asks and it seems like nothing more than a simple inquiry. "No, I don’t love you, Victor.” He nods, completely accepting it. “Good. Because I’m not in love with you, either.” “But I uh would maybe…appreciate it if you didn’t sleep with anyone else. I…well, I don’t think I’d like that much.” “I agree,” he says with another solid nod. “I think if I caught you with another man, I would have to kill him.” I nod a few times, as casually as he had. “Definitely,” I say in return. “The same goes for you.” “Agreed.” – Victor and Sarai
How should I describe this book’s writing style? In three words action packed, twisted and wicked. JA Redmerski writes Reviving Izabel in dual POV. I love being in Sarai’s head, but to also be in Victor’s head is enthralling. The plot is still fast paced but it detains every detail and every moment so flawlessly it keeps you captivated the entire time. JA is also a mastermind in turmoil and plot twists. You will never know what will happen in the next chapter. I am warning you, once you start reading, you can’t put it down or stop.
Notes: WE GET MORE FREDRIK HERE! He has some scenes with Victor and Sarai. There is also a chapter that was written from his POV and IT MAKES ME SO SAD, I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN. I developed feelings for him. It never ceases to amaze me how JA creates such complex characters with dark a past which lead them into a killer lifestyle!!

Goodreads Summary:
Embrace the Forbidden What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences? This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels. Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna. Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns? My Review :
– 5/5 stars for Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins
“Life was often so cruel, so ugly. And then, in the midst of all the madness, a precious gift would be placed in your lap. Because life could also be so sweet.”
I am a big fan of paranormal romance. I am a sucker for an angel and demon story. I read this book for the first time 4 years ago. This is a story about Nephilim (human-angel sons and daughters) who were able to get freedom, to live the life they want without the fear of being killed by their fathers. The idea of nephs helping their dad by “working”, and how their daddy controls them in demon world is so entertaining.
What I like about this trilogy is THE CHARACTERS.
- KAIDAN ROWE, Son of Pharzuph, Demon of Lust. He is smoking H-O-T, add an extra T, H-O-T-T! So far in my opinion of YA paranormal romance genre, no one beats Kaidan Rowe’s sex allure. His job in the demon world is to make people lust for each other (in a very sexy way) and HE IS OUTSTANDING IN HIS JOB RESPONSIBILITY! This means the author, Wendy, successfully created a demon of lust character, because every time Kaidan was in a scene I was practically bouncing up and down with excitement and lust *ooopss sorrrryyyyy.
Note: if you read the lux series (the sweet evil series was mentioned in the fourth book *swoon)
- Anna Whitt, Daughter of Belial, Demon of Substance Abuse. She is special and she is unique. At first she didn’t know she was a neph, but she knew she had supernatural powers; she can see others’ aura. She is pure, sweet and full of kindness. When she meets Kaidan, she finally understands that she is one of the Nephilim, and should help her demonic dad too. But it’s against her nature and heart. Her soul and blood is all angelic despite the fact that she is a half blood demon.
- John LaGray , Belial, Demon of Substance Abuse. Not like the other demon father. Belial really loves his daughter Anna with all of his life. He doesn’t want the demon world to know he has neph children. He keeps Anna away from the demon world, to keep her safe, to keep her angelic soul intact. Belial has a secret about the truth of her daughter. The truth that will only be revealed once you read this book, I won’t spoil anything for you guys!
- Kopano, Son of Alcher, Demon of Wrath. He is a Harvard student. And he refuses to help his dad to spread the wrath.
- Marna and Ginger, Daughters of Astaroth, Demon of Adultery.
- Black, Son of Malchom, The son of Envy.
- Patty Whitt, Anna’s adopted mother. She is a religious and spiritual woman. She’s been taking care Anna since she was a kid.
- Zania, Daughter of Hatred, she originally lived in Arab, but now lives in Syria with her father.
- Flynn, Son of Greed. He is all muscles with a soft heart. He is also an MMA fighter.
The first book of this series centers around Anna’s adventure to find the truth about herself. She meets Kaidan, who ends up falling in love with her. He accompanies her to seek her father, Belial. During 40% progress of this book, it blew my mind away with angels & demons mythology. This is YA but the romance scenes are extremely hot! Kaidan and Anna’s connection is hard to deny. They are an amazeballs couple, HaHa! Kaidan’s part of the story is so thrilling, and of course because YES HE IS A DEMON OF LUST BABY! I know some readers might think parts of the book are so cliché, and too good to be true. But, heiya it didn’t bother me, this is “just a fictional world” after all, that’s why we are reading fiction right?
“You told some human kid?" I coughed, buying time. "He's Neph, too." Jonathan LaGray went rigid and his ruddy cheeks paled. I squirmed as his eyes bored into mine. "Which one's his father?" he asked through clenched teeth. "Richard Rowe. I guess you'd know him as Pharzuph." Oh, boy. He wasn't pale anymore. "You came across the country-" "Shhh!" I warned him as people looked over. He lowered his voice to a shouted whisper. "-with the son of the Duke of Lust?! Son of a-” ― Sweet Evil
“The purpose of life is to find your way back to a spiritual way of thinking and living—to be able to get past the physical stuff.” – Jonathan LaGray
The second book focuses on Anna and the rest of Nephilim’s attempt to make an ally, and fight for their freedom, which brings them close to death. Sweet evil offers us more of an inside look into the sons and daughters lives, doing their “work”, which is being bad influences in the human world. We not only see demonic Anna, and how she works to turn humans into druggies and alcoholics, but also see Kaidan’s ability to seduce woman and pursue humans to have sex. Gosh! I am warning you Kai’s mind is dirtier in Sweet Peril! He set me on FIRE !!
"My every instinct is telling me to have my way with you. But not nearly as difficult as going all this time without you," -- Kaidan
Not like Sweet Evil, Sweet Peril is full of unstoppable action, and has so many new and interesting characters. It is very addicting and leaves you unconsciously begging for more.
In book three, the Sweet Reckoning, the war arrives. The best book in the series, it makes you have all the emotions; nervous, calmness, happiness and sadness. The characters grow more mature and smart. The obstacles and the challenges are exciting. It’s so consuming that you don’t want to stop reading. The plot is fast-paced but it’s perfect in every way. What captivated me in the middle of the story was a major plot twist, with many surprising revelations. There’s also steamy scenes but not so gross that it takes away from the plot. This is a great talent of Wendy’s.
“Life, although it may only be an accumulation of anguish, is dear to me, and I will defend it” – Mary Shelley, Frankenstein , Sweet Reckoning
Wendy is a great author. I would say mostly there’s a high rating for the first book, but a lower rating for the next installment. Worst case, the ending is a disappointment. But this series starts out so simple, and yet it’s engrossing until the end. It’s perfect in every place. It’s a great YA story for an adult reader.
