Finished Commission for @radioproto of their character Calamity the protogen! It was a delight to work in this project! I absolutley adore how it came out < 3

They sit around 40cm tall and they are made of supersoft microvelboa and felt, with details on fur fabric like the op of the head and tail. < 333 again absolutely in love with the result

My thoughts on Alexis since I finally listened to the Summit videos!

Before I get into it, I want to state that these are just my own personal opinions and thoughts about her as a character. I've seen fans be very aggressive and down right hateful towards other fans who do like Alexis, all I'm asking is that we please keep things civil if you do decide to add in your own two cents on this post. The block button is your friend, use it if you personally don't like what you read. Thank you!

I've heard a lot about Alexis' on here before I even really started listening to Redacted Audios stuff. Fans seem to be split about her with a lot of people thinking she's a more complex character underneath the bitchy personality she has, while a lot of fans see her as a villain who shouldn't be seen in a favorable light at all after what she did to Sam. Both are valid opinions and I'm not going to deny that Alexis is supposed to be a very hateable person from the get go.

I'm gonna be honest here, I was excited to see her in action! I've heard a lot about her and was trying to catch up on the other character videos that surrounded the Summit so I wouldn't miss anything. She played her role very well in the terms of she managed to piss off the listener with how her words were vindictive. She's petty, mean, and everything we expected out of her in her official introduction. I think she's an interesting character because of how she acts, but what I also find interesting is how she reacts to when Sam confronts her about staying away from Darlin'.

Despite the obvious hate the two have for each other, Alexis obliges by Sams plead to leave Darlin' alone. I feel like in that moment the connection of 'Maker' and 'Progeny' (I hope I'm spelling that right-) shines through a little here. It's canon that a maker and a progeny can feel each others emotions especially when they're very intense emotions. An example was Sam feeling his progenys emotions when waking up from their nightmares of Quinns attack. Alexis could feel those intense emotions from Sam in that moment where he confronted her.

This is where I can see the standpoint of Alexis fans seeing her as a more complex character. She did care for Sam at some point and in that moment it could be interpreted as those old feelings resurfacing. With the effect of the connection they still had as a maker and progeny, she decided to oblige his request. She could have very well denied him that, she could have ignored him and done as she pleased by continuing to instigate Darlin' yet she decided to grant him the minium of at least leaving them alone. However, I can also see the side of fans who do not like Alexis. Because in that same Summit video, she admits to not regretting turning Sam and even doubles down on that fact.

My overall thoughts on her? I can see she has layers to her character and I really like her, it's fun figuring out and picking her apart to see those layers. It was thrilling to see how she would interact with Darlin', Sam and the other characters because despite her being an asshole she says and does interesting things. However, it doesn't change the fact she turned Sam for selfish reasons. Yes she was trying to help, but it was deep rooted in her own desires. She knew the extent of what it meant to be a maker and a protogen. She also knew how important it is for someone to have a choice in whether or not they even want to be turned. Even if it was a life or death situation, it wasn't her choice to make. Alexis ignored Sams choice not to be turned and has to live with those consequences no matter how hard she tries to justify herself.
