I love seeing your progress and how you keep everything real. I am on my fitness journey, and looking to hear of suggestions for gluten free protien bars and shakes. What are some great go tos? I use built bars and bucked up, but I'm looking at costs and such to factor in trying other lines of products for powders and bars.
Thanks, I’ve not tried many of the brands out there right now but a few makers of bars I’ve liked are DeTour, RX Bar, and Kind, I believe all three have some gluten free options. As for powders I’ve tried a few different but nothing has come close to beating Optimum Nutrition protein powders for me. They are pricey which is the only downside but all the cheap stuff I’ve tried has never been good. Right now I’m not using any supplements and just trying to get extra protein through my daily diet. May not be an efficient choice for faster gains but definitely more sustainable and easier on my wallet.
Hope this helps a little…hopefully some other people may chime in on some other brands or options they’ve tried and liked.

Hello, your friendly neighborhood biogum maker. Yes Xanthan and its newer cooler brother Gellan gums are made from corn syrups. Gellan being Non-GMO at least but still corn and rarely wheat. Gellan is being made from non wheat or corn dervied protiens and moving towards non allergenic protiens (yay) but still has a long way to go and even then corn syrup is a big base for it so it is hard to replace such a sugar for the process. I work at the worlds biggest producer of biogums and we are trying to move towards a more inclusive way to produce them but it is a difficult process. Please know if anything (and thats most things especially vegan prodcuts) has xanthan or gellan it has either wheat corn or soy in it. Please stay safe.

Family ate fresh cut mango with #vanilla #icecream I just looked at them helplessly. Being in Keto doesn't permit me to have dairy or sugar. Summers are coming and I need to cool down sometimes. So I came home, mixed a can of #coconutmilk 2tbsp of #kopra or dessicated #coconut, little vanilla essence and 2scoops of my vanilla flavoured #protien powder. Whipped it in the food processor for 5 minutes then put the mixture in the icecube maker. When frozen hard, took 6 to 7 cubes in a grinder/food processor and added fresh mint leaves to it. After grinding them together the delicious creamy mint vanilla #ketoicecream was created. What an awesome taste. I also plan to grind the remaining cubes with chilli flakes so that I can get a chilli vanilla flavoured icecream next time.
