Daryl Dixon x Fem!Reader "Alright, and who is that over there? Standing with Carol and Maggie?" Aaron asked, nodding toward you. Daryl followed his gaze.
"Oh, tha's Y/N. We call her the Grim Reaper," Daryl drawled. Aaron looked over at him with wide eyes.
"Wh—what—are you serious?" he asked.
Daryl nodded and tried his best to keep a straight face. "Mhm. I've seen her kill a walker with nothin' but her pinky finger," he said.
"You've—wait..." Aaron gave him a suspicious look. "Are you messing with me?"
Daryl couldn't help the gruff laugh that left him. "Yeah. I am." His blue eyes went back over to you. "She actually prefers to avoid fightin' if she can. And there ain't nothin' wrong with that. Besides," he said, fiddling a bit anxiously with his hands, "she ain't gotta worry. To keep her safe, for her, 'm the Grim Reaper if I gotta be."
Aaron was smiling at the softness on Daryl's face. He'd never seen a look quite like it on the archer's face before. "Are you two... together?" he asked.
"Huh? No. Why?" Daryl asked, feeling his face and chest flushing with heat. "Why'd ya ask that?"
Aaron shrugged, still smiling. "No reason."
Prompt: "My best friend is the grim reaper." A/N: Don't ask me what ADHD thought process got me from that prompt to this scenario but I love it haha

Don’t Leave Me Again.
⚠️Warnings: Attempted Sexual Assault, Violence, Blood, Swearing.
Description: You and the group are on a run and stop overnight to rest, but a stranger somehow makes their way in.
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Reader
A/N: Please make sure you read the warnings, it’s not too graphic but I don’t want to trigger anyone. Stay safe! And thank you for all the love recently<3 - dixonsarrows
Crash.
I wake up quickly, my heart beating loudly in my chest. Slowly, I stand up and make my way to the door of the room, making sure to not stand on anyone. I poke my head around the door, peaking out.
All of a sudden, I feel someone grab my shoulder and I go to scream but feel a hand slap over my mouth. I look up at the man. A stranger.
How the fuck did he get in here? Where’s Daryl? He’s supposed to be on watch.
I struggle in his grip, trying to work my way out of it. My body thuds against the floor as the man throws me to the ground, still holding his hand over my mouth and the other pinning me down and straddling me with his legs either side. I whimper, trying to make any sound to wake the others.
“Shut the fuck up, bitch. I was just gonna rob your group, but after seeing your pretty face..”
The man paused for a second, licking his lips.
“I’m gonna get something else I want.”
With that, he puts a hand around my throat and reaches into his pocket, grabbing a cloth which he then ties around my face, making it into a gag, so I still couldn’t talk. Attempting to scream into the gag, I reach my hand up to try and punch him in the face. He quickly pulls a knife to my throat.
“I said shut up. You try anything and I’ll slit your fucking throat.” He muttered, his voice laced with venom.
The man briefly lifts his hips up to attempt to unzip his pants and I take the opportunity to lift up my knee and whack him in the balls, making him fall to the side.
“Fuckin’ bitch, you’re gonna get it now.” He grunts, attempting to get on top of me once again.
Luckily, I was already knelt on one knee, so I somehow manage to shove him away and stand up. Before I know it though, he’s got me pinned against the wall, one hand around my throat and the other still clutching the knife. Struggling to breath, I attempt to knee him in the balls again; but this time he only moves slightly to the side, but enough for me to bring my hand up grabbing the knife by the blade. I wince as I feel it digging into my hand. In a split second, I whack my head against his, causing him to stumble back and let go of my neck, his grip loosening enough on the knife for me to grab it- flicking it round so the handle is in my hand.
Using all my body weight, I slam him against the wall and on instinct, I plunge the knife into his neck, taking it out and doing the same thing again- blood splattering all over me and up the wall. He slumps to the floor and I stumble back, dropping the knife and slowly bringing my hands up to untie the gag.
“Y/N? What the fuck ‘appended?” I hear Daryl’s panicked voice along with his thumping footsteps.
I can’t move, my feet stuck in place and my eyes stuck on the man I just stabbed. The man. Not a walker. But a man.
I feel Daryl’s hands on to tops of my arms and I jump, looking up at him.
“I- He was gonna-”
He pulls me into a tight hug. His strong arms wrapping around my currently fragile body.
“‘s’okay. Ya did what ya had to.” He mumbled against my hair, not letting go of me.
“I- I killed him.” I mumbled, feeling completely numb.
“He was gonna r-” I can’t even finish the sentence as I attempt to swallow the sob I feel rising in my throat.
“Don’t ya dare feel guilty about killin’ that motherfucker, Y/N. Ya had to, alrigh’?” He says as he pulls away, holding me at arms length to study me.
Scanning my body for any marks, his eyes land on bleeding hand. He pulls out a handkerchief from his back pocket and gently wraps it around my hand- enough to stop the bleeding with it not causing more pain.
“W-where was y-you, Daryl?” I mumble, trying to stop my voice shaking.
“‘m’so sorry, Y/N. I was patrollin’ round, I never even realised. Shit, I’m sorry.” He responded, bring his hand up to rest on my cheek, his thumb wiping away a stray tear.
Suddenly, I hear the door the room behind us open, Rick’s voice ringing out.
“What happened? Is everyon-” He started.
“How tha fuck did none of ya wake up?! Y/N almost got fuckin’ killed!” Daryl suddenly yelled, taking his hands from me and pointing accusingly at Rick.
“You were the one on watch-”
“STOP.” I yelled, interrupting the soon-to-be argument.
“Just stop. I- I handled it.” My voice reduces to a whisper at the end of my sentence.
Reaching my arm out, I tug on Daryl’s sleeve, trying to get him closer to me. I hear him sigh as he steps back towards me and embraces me in a hug once again, gently kissing the top of my head.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there, darlin’.” He mumbles quietly, his hand rubbing circles on my back.
“J-just.. please don’t leave me again.” I mutter, my voice breaking.
“‘M’kay.” He responds, hugging me tighter.

Daryl is so fine omfg
thinking about riding daryl, but as you’re cumming your hips lift up slightly and he roughly forces you all the way back down onto his cock … a gasp escapes your lips but you obey nonetheless. you continue to ride out your high, although daryl didn’t really give you a choice because he was rolling your hips back and forth as he pleased. you lean down to press little wet kisses onto his chest. his hands trail up to your hair and neck. he pulls you into his lips and gently grabs a fistful of your hair, keeping you pressed into him. it didn’t hurt at all. it was intimate and possessive and you wanted more. you pull away for a moment. “can you flip me on my back?” you ask in a soft, needy tone that could never be denied by your archer. your pleasure always came first to daryl, so within one sudden movement he had rolled over and switched positions with you. he gave you those eyes. the ones that search yours for permission to keep going.. permission to fuck you stupid. you smiled with flushed cheeks. “go crazy.” you rasp out. he leans down, open mouth, kissing you and slowly making his way towards your ear. “careful what ya’ wish for, sunshine.” he whispers with a devilish smile. your walls clench around him involuntarily and you get ready to dig your nails into his back while he fucks you senselessly into the mattress.

The Lesson of Reality
[Rick Grimes and Child!Reader]
Synopsis: You accidentally get a lot more “experience” than what Rick had planned.
WC: 3080
Category: Slight Angst, S6!Rick (no TOWL spoilers) {TW — Gore, Violence, Walkers, Blood, Death}
There’s so many fics about Daryl being a father figure that it’s about time that Rick had his Joel Miller moment (especially now that all the episodes of The Ones Who Live have aired). So have fun with this cute Protective!Rick moment.
『••✎••』
They say when times are tough, people can rise to the occasion and show their true colors. For some, it's an opportunity to prove they can survive the hardships and come out the other side stronger, wiser, and more experienced. Then there is the scum of the earth. They will take any opportunity to steal, kill, and hurt others while they try and make it out unscathed.
For Rick, he wanted you to be part of the former. He always saw your potential to become a fighter—a survivor. Hell, you made it this long by yourself, after all. You had to learn and adapt to the world.
And given your age, it was a hard thing to accomplish.
Your innocence didn't help, either. On one hand, he wanted to keep you as innocent and childlike as possible for as long as he could. The world was already a shit-show. The least you could do was still have the mentality of the child you were supposed to be. Being only ten years old, it was the right thing to do.
But then he remembers what the world was like now. If he let you live with that naivety, it'd get you killed. And it didn’t matter how intelligent you were because even if it saved your ass a few times, it won’t forever.
The fact of the matter is you were going to be hurt no matter what. And you had to be prepared for it.
He had already shown his own son, Carl, the harshness of the new world. He didn't want to do it, but the world left him no choice. And he couldn't deny the boy the means to defend himself and his family.
And even if you weren’t his kid, that didn’t mean he wouldn’t do the same for you.
He just needed the right time to teach you… to remind you that Alexandria isn’t the safest place on the planet.
The perfect time came when the Wolves attacked the group, and the gates were broken down.
After all the tragedy and loss, and Alexandria started to rebuild and strengthen their walls once again, Rick decided then was the time to toughen you up.
And thus, there you were, sitting on a tree stump as Rick stood in front of you, knife in hand, and Daryl beside him.
Eugene was also there, but he was standing to the side, watching with mild curiosity.
“You sure ‘bout this?” Daryl asked, looking from you to Rick, brows furrowed in concern. “It’s good takin' 'em outside the walls, but now? After everything that just happened, I mean? The people need yah right now, man. And the last thing we need is for the lil' squirt here to get hurt, too. Yer already lookin' rough as it is."
"I'll be fine, Daryl," Rick replied, his eyes not leaving yours. “Besides, I won’t be gone long. It’s just a quick look around. In and out, and then I'll be back. Two days, tops.”
Everyone around you seemed to be on edge, with the attack on the walls still fresh in their minds. But you?
Well, you were too busy staring at the shiny, shiny knife. Excitement shone in your eyes as your fingers twitched.
Truth be told, ever since Daryl and Aaron found you alone, wandering the woods and eating raw squirrel, and brought you to Alexandria, you felt as if something was missing.
You had never been the most social kid. You had the bare minimum amount of friends at school. None of them stuck around after you were pulled out of school. You had no close relatives that wanted you around. No father figure and the only motherly presence in your life was gone before you understood the new reality.
And while there were other kids in Alexandria, the older ones were already too busy trying to act like adults, and the younger ones were too immature. Sam, the kid that had once been closest to your age, was just a crybaby who didn’t know any better. He was scared of the dark and the idea of a walker. He never went outside the walls, so it was no wonder.
It was like living in a house full of strangers. They were all kind to you, but there was something missing.
But the Grimes family? Well, you couldn't help but feel more comfortable around them. Carl didn’t seem to like you, at least not at first, but ever since the “Wolves” attack and sudden loss of his eye, he was becoming nicer.
And then there was Rick. He was always kind, but after the incident, he became even kinder. More attentive and caring. Always checking on you, making sure you were safe and comfortable. Something about that night must've really changed him because he's been different since then.
And you liked it. You felt more comfortable around him. You didn’t know what it was. Maybe it was because he had saved you from a walker, or perhaps it was the way he talked to you, but you enjoyed his company.
You also loved destroying him in Gin Rummy. With the mix of his shocked expression and Michonne’s laughter, it was priceless.
Rick looked back at Daryl, who was still giving him a doubtful expression. But it wasn’t a no. So, Rick took it as a sign of agreement.
Daryl huffed and put a hand on his hip, shifting his weight to his right side. "Alright, alright. But if somethin' goes wrong, I won’t hesitate to tell ya I told ya so, yah hear me?”
Rick snorted. "Wouldn’t expect any less from you."
Daryl rolled his eyes and shook his head, a smirk on his lips. He gave you one more glance, and then he turned and left.
With that out of the way, Rick focused on the task at hand. That’s when Eugene made his presence known. He was the man with the map, so to speak.
He came over and laid the map of the area on the ground in front of you.
"I've marked the areas of the woods I believe would be best suited for your scavenging mission. However, should your route take a turn, there are several alternate routes to get back. There are also a few marked areas with potential food sources, water, and the possibility of tools or other survival necessities.
"Thank you, Eugene. I appreciate this," Rick said, putting a hand on the man's shoulder. Eugene smiled and nodded.
"You're welcome, sir. Now, if you'll excuse me, Rosita and I have an appointment at the gate to inspect and repair the damaged panels.” Eugene stood up and straightened his clothes, and then he was gone, heading back to the gate.
"Ready?" Rick asked. You looked up at him, smiling, and gave a nod. Soon, you were off into the rusty car that Daryl had brought from outside the walls.
You sat in the back seat, along with the bags semi-full of supplies and some extra weapons. Most of them belonged to Rick, however, so all you had was your old baseball cap.
And, of course, the old switchblade that Daryl gave you a while back.
For most of the scavenge trip, it was peaceful. The occasional walker showed up here and there, but for the most part, they were few and far between.
You found a lot of supplies. Food, medicine, clothes, and anything else you could think of. Rick also made sure to teach you how to pick locks, avoid traps, and a bunch of other skills.
But, of course, as things go, something has to go wrong.
A group of walkers, about twenty or so, showed up. It was no big deal. It was a lot, but nothing you couldn't handle.
You and Rick quickly got to work, taking them out one by one. You had gotten good with your knife, and with some pointers from Rick, you were practically a pro.
And then there was Rick, swinging his machete, stabbing and slashing his way through the herd. His face was a mix of focus and calm. It was impressive.
But the problem wasn’t the walkers. You were both doing fine. The problem was the aftermath. When the last walker fell to your feet, a gun rose and pointed at Rick's head.
And the guy holding the gun? Well, he looked like a psychopath. He had a smile that sent shivers down your spine, and it didn't help that the sun was starting to set.
"Hey there. Nice work taking out those rotters. But I'm going to have to ask you to hand over the bags and all the weapons you have. Oh, and I love that baseball cap. That'll be mine, too."
Well, Rick wanted you to toughen up. It seemed the universe had the same idea.
Somehow, you ended up behind Rick, shielded from the man and his gun. Your heart was pounding in your ears as the adrenaline kicked in. You didn't know what to do.
Rick didn't, either. Not when a group of armed men stepped out of the trees and aimed their guns at him. He didn't even have the time to reach for his machete.
Rick raised his hands, but his body was tense.
"Don't," was the only thing he said. His voice was stern, a growl hidden underneath. The man grinned and laughed.
"Oh, I'm gonna have fun with you," the man sneered.
Suddenly, all of them charged forward, grabbing the two of you. Your cap was taken, and Rick's machete was tossed away.
Despite the stronghold, Rick was able to kick and punch his way through his attackers. Even with the gun being pointed at him and the man pulling the trigger, he still managed to dodge the bullet and throw a few more punches.
The man growled, but the smile didn't leave his face.
"Feisty, aren't you? I love a challenge."
With a flick of his wrist, he knocked the butt of the gun against Rick's temple, sending him to the ground.
"Rick!" You yelled but were cut off when someone grabbed you by the hair and pulled, eliciting a scream from you.
"What a cutie," the man purred, grabbing you by the chin. You tried to pull away, but he held tight.
"How old are you, huh? Six? Seven? Eh, it doesn't matter. All kids are the same. Little shits who don't know their place."
You took that as a sign. You spat in his face. He didn't even flinch. In fact, the smile only widened. It pissed you off so much that you did the one thing that would definitely take a smile off his face.
You saw it done once, with a foot. A woman back in Alexandria seemed upset with a man, and she took her boot and kicked him right where you aimed your switchblade.
You weren't sure if it was a good idea, but it was the only thing you could think of.
So you did. And let me tell you, that was one of the few times you had ever heard someone scream so loud. He dropped you in an instant, unfortunately taking the knife with him.
“Son of a-!! You little-!!” Pain and anger laced the man's words as he clutched himself. You scrambled back, watching with wide eyes as he slowly recovered.
He didn’t dare try to crawl over to you, though. He didn’t trust his body to move.
Instead, he turned his attention to his side, where his small pistol had been tossed. He reached over and picked it up, pointing the barrel in your direction.
“I was gonna be nice… maybe have a little fun, but now?” He let out a painful chuckle. The smile was still there, but it was laced with anger. He groaned in pain, and his body shook.
Still, his hands remained steady.
"You little shit. I outta blow your head off. Let the rotters tear you apart, limb from limb. Would serve you right.”
Rick's heart stopped at that. The gun was aimed at you, and he was too far away. Even if he charged, he wouldn't make it in time.
There was no other option.
Just as the man squinted his eyes, about to pull the trigger, the sound of a gunshot rang through the air. It made the man jump and look around, right in time to see one of his men fall to the ground.
"What the-?"
You turned and saw Rick tussling with another man, the one holding a gun, who was fighting for control.
The man who had his gun pointed at you took the opportunity to shoot it again, but you were prepared enough to duck out of the way.
The bullet went into a tree, and by the time the next one fired, he was the last one standing.
And boy, was he pissed. The bullet once again missed his target, but only barely.
That was enough, though. Just enough to get Rick to kick the gun out of his hands before pressing his boot right where your pocket knife was still sticking out.
Rick had the advantage, and it was obvious, with the screams of agony coming from the man. He was on his knees, clutching his crotch, and Rick had a firm hand on the back of his head, ready to bash his skull into the ground if need be.
But he didn't. He had other plans.
He pulled out your knife, only to stick it right back into place and then some.
"Ah! You crazy bas-!! Fuck!!"
"You’re going to listen to me. Real good, you’ hear?” Rick’s voice was dark, and the man nodded frantically.
"Grab his gun and come over here."
You did as you were told, picking up the pistol and slowly walking over. The man whimpered, tears staining his cheeks as blood seeped through his pants.
"You're gonna stand there and keep your gun pointed at his head while I tie his hands together. If he even twitches, shoot him."
You gulped but nodded. You kept your arms out, hands as steady as you could make them.
“You sick, twisted, fuckin' asshole. I'll fucking kill you!" The man snarled, his teeth gritting and his face contorted in pain.
"That's cute," Rick said. He was quick to tie the man's wrists together. Rick was just as quick to grab him and force him on his feet before kicking the back of his knees and sending him sprawling on the ground.
"Stay," Rick commanded him like a dog, and you couldn't help but smile a little at the man's pained, angry expression.
Rick quickly gathered the supplies and the bag, and then he was over to you, giving you a once-over.
"You hurt? Bleeding? Anything broken?"
"N-No, I'm okay," you replied, voice wavering a bit.
"Good," he breathed out, and you noticed he was shaking a bit, too. Not enough to notice at first glance, but enough to know that he was trying his hardest not to.
He took the gun from your hands gingerly, and then he was kneeling before the man.
"Who are you?"
The man was silent. Rick didn't wait long before aiming the gun at the man's right thigh.
"Let me rephrase that. Who are you? What's your name?"
"Fuck y—”
Rick shot the man in the thigh without any hesitation. The scream of pain made you jump.
"Try again. Who are you?"
"Aah!! Fuck!! I-I'm Dave, okay? My name's Dave!"
"Okay, Dave. Good. Now, why did you attack us? And don't think I'm above shooting you again, or worse, so be honest. I can tell when someone's lying to me."
"We were just passing through! Saw you and thought, 'Hey, easy pickings!' Didn't expect you to be the goddamn terminator!"
"Passing through to where?"
Silence. Rick sighed and shook his head, but before he could fire another shot, Dave finally caved.
"Back to c-camp. Please, we have family. Wives, children… We meant nothin' by it! We swear! We just-! We were hungry. We were starving! Please, have mercy!"
"Children? Like the one you just threatened to shoot in the head?" Rick growled. Dave flinched.
"N-no, I-"
“Where are they? Down that stream? I saw your tracks earlier. That was you, wasn’t it?"
Dave's silence spoke volumes. Rick looked back at you, and you were staring at the man, wide-eyed and fearful, not of him specifically, but of what Rick could do to him.
Rick took a deep breath and then turned back to Dave.
"How many are there?"
"T-Ten. Maybe eleven."
"Are they armed?"
"J-Just with knives and stuff."
"You got anything else? Any other guns or ammo?"
"N-No. Please, just let us go! We won't bother you again! Just don't hurt me."
Rick looked back at you again. Your eyes were still locked on the man, but you could feel his gaze. You looked up at him.
"With that stunt, you just pulled,” Rick stood up, his eyes still aligned with yours, but he wasn’t speaking to you. He was addressing Dave.
"I can’t take that chance.”
Then the bullet fired, and soon it was just you and Rick with a bunch of corpses.
He quickly holstered the gun and rushed to bags left on the ground.
"What about his family?” Your voice was shaken. You had never seen someone shot like that, point blank.
Rick sighed, pausing in his movements.
"They don’t exist.” Rick stood and turned, looking you in the eye. “I know people like him. If he had a family, they're already dead, or he killed them himself.”
You didn’t break eye contact, “and if you’re wrong? What then?"
Rick didn’t even blink. "Then I saved them a lot of suffering."
Rick didn't like doing this, killing people, taking life. He hated it, really.
But he would be damned if anyone ever laid a hand on his family or his people. Even if it meant getting a little bloody.
You had to turn away from him, from the intensity of his stare.
Rick sighed and walked over to you, placing a hand on your shoulder.
"You did good back there. Really good. The world it’s… It ain't kind to people. And even though I hope it never happens, you have to be prepared for anything. For anyone."
Rick squeezed your shoulder, and his voice was gentle.
"And, for what it's worth, I'm proud of you."

Don’t Push It
Pairing: Daryl x GN! Reader
Era: Alexandria (Pre-Season 8)
Pronouns: You/They/Them
Warning: Crack, Eugene being a perv, Angy Daryl, Protective Daryl, insinuated spicy scene, forgiveness of Eugene
A/N:
Hello lovelies. I would like to state that I think Eugene is a very unique character and I adore him in a very special way. I have many HCs about him and might release them eventually but for now please enjoy this fic. I just wanted to state for the fact I do not hate Eugene even though I placed him in a not fantastic light here!
The warm summer air buzzed with excitement in the Alexandrian homestead. Gardens were planted in the early spring and only now were starting to begin to produce flowers and food that the community so desperately needed. The sweet smell of earth's nectarous vegetables and fruit mixed with that of fresh cut grass, a scent you had never known you would ever miss so much in the apocalypse. It was a smell so heavenly you wished you could bottle it up.
Sitting on the garden wall with one of your freshly picked winnings you perched your leg up, resting your elbow on your thigh to help stretch out your aching back.
“Hell of a harvest.” Abraham murmured wiping a thick layer of sweat from his brow.
“Might be too much to use at one time…” Sasha sighed shaking her head examining the bounty standing next to Abraham. She stared down at the bushels of veggies and fruits the community had grown counting out loud. "It would all go bad before we'd use it all..."
“Could can it. Could make good jam and preserves.” You suggested taking a bite of the veggie you held in your hand.
“Or dry ‘em out.” Daryl murmured popping out of the crops covered in soil as your boyfriend tossed another bushel of carrots onto the pile.
“Could rehydrate them in stews or jest eat them like jerky.” A hum of affirmation rolled through the group as you all eyed the feast sitting in front of you. No matter what you chose, Alexandria was going to be well fed for a long time.
Glancing over your shoulder at footsteps crunching down the gravel pathway towards the gardens toward you and your group, your first instinct was to tense and prepare yourself for the worst. This world had hardened you. Made you jumpy and pessimistic.
His eyes plastered to the rocks beneath his feet you felt your body recoil. Eugene had never been someone who made you feel comfortable to be around. He always eyed you a little too closely, analytically. And this time as you saw Eugene trudge in as if with a purpose and a mission not even bothering to acknowledge Abraham or Sasha as they greeted him, you felt more like prey in his sights in his eyes than ever before.
Your stomach sank as his intent gaze turned from the ground onto you. He eyed you as if you were a science project he was so desperately trying to get ready for a middle school science fair. Or maybe an ameba that he was studying under a microscope desperate to understand. Your breath felt heavy in your lungs when you looked at him, so you turned your gaze to your fresh breath of air. To Daryl who all but shot Eugene with his glare. The scientist pissed him off in a way way too many could. He made him feel dumb and insignificant. He asked him questions to deliberately make Daryl feel stupid and uneducated. A nerve that the Dixon was very sensitive with and thus you were very protective of.
You shifted where you sat on your perch upon the wall watching as Eugene took his place right in front of you, just a tad too close for comfort.
"Hello... I'd like to formally request a private audience with you." The doctor's thick southern accent did not accompany his attempt at "proper communication" well. Instead he just sounded like he was parodying Shakespeare to a point it was painful and inappropriate. But that was Eugene... and he was in fact inelegant in some aspects... but profoundly knowledgeable in most so you let it slide in some cases.
This one however had you cocking your head and raising your brow in a sort of amusement at him.
"Private audience? What do you think I am now Eugene?" You teased. The doctor nodded, his throat bobbing as he swallowed thickly, staring at the ground in thought for a mere second before meeting your eyes once more.
"Someone worthy of it... a monarch... a deity even." He mused. Sitting up straight in surprise you glanced behind the portly man to see Abraham pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation.
"God damn it Eugene..." The red head hummed with a giggle from Sasha by his side. Daryl however did not seem amused by any of what was going on. His glare planted firmly in the middle of Eugene's back.
"Shut up Abraham." Eugene bit out harshly.
"I said I wanted ta talk ta them in private... so get out." He ordered pointing down the path he just came up.
Abraham rolled his eyes and sighed his mustache fluttering with the act. But he didn't move. Instead he his hand wound tight around Sasha's, his eyes meeting yours, silently reading your face. He was friends with Eugene, yes. Best friends even. But that wouldn't stop him from kicking his shit in if he ever made someone uncomfortable, especially someone he considered a friend. But you just shrugged offering Abraham a little smile. It was Eugene... what's the worst that could happen?
Abraham didn't seem to like that answer.
"Nah... We're stayin'." He growled glaring at the back of Eugene's head.
"Can't fucking tell me what to god damn do." He hissed with Sasha nodding by his side.
"Damn right. We were here working..." She hissed crossing her arms over her chest. Rolling his eyes Eugene gestured for you to follow walking a few steps down the path.
"They ain't comin'." Daryl growled defensively, making Eugene jump nearly a foot in the air as he turned to stare wide eyed at the archer then back at you who hadn't moved an inch.
"Daryl's right Eugene..." You hummed sending your archer a loving look that only somewhat softened the bristles on the man.
"I'm here to work even if I'm here on break right now. I can't just walk away... and really whatever you have to say... you should be able to say to my face with everyone else around." You said more confidently than you currently felt.
Waffling on his feet for a moment Eugene murmurs soft and low to himself. So low in fact that you couldn't hear what he was saying beyond your name and privacy. You did however hear Abraham and Sasha murmur to themselves about finding some serious 'help' for the poor guy. Maybe medication or a trip to Dr. Denise later when the gnome of a man looked back up at you, determined once more.
"Fine." He stated walking to stand back in front of you. Somehow even closer this time so he was between your crisscrossed legs.
"I'll just condense what I had to say down to it's bare essentials, since we are in a public place. Much like how you would distil ingredients for some chemical bonds." He drawled. Closing your eyes you scrubbed your face but nodded.
"Sure Eugene..."
Whatever... You think.
"What's up?"
Taking a deep breath he steps closer so that he was pressed up against the wall which you sat, clearing his throat he met your eyes staring at you as if you were the cure for cancer.
"I just think yer the bee's knees." He mused.
Awe that's actually pretty sweet... You think, your shoulders relaxing and a soft smile gracing your lips.
"I'd very much like ta lay you out like a firm steak and pound you out on the counter top until your soft and tender." He said smirking up at you with all the confidence as if he had just solved world hunger... even going as far as to lay his hands on the wall on either side of your thighs.
You gasped completely appalled staring back down at him, completely shocked and mortified you blinked and shook your head. Truly you were not entirely certain you had just heard him correctly. And by the looks on friends' and more importantly boyfriend's faces it seemed they weren't sure about what they heard either.
"I want to split you open and eat you like Sunday dinner after church."
WHAT THE FUCK?!
Your mind defrosted. You'd definitely heard him right that time.
What the fuck? WHAT. THE. FUCK?! What gave him that idea?
One glance back you nearly broke into tears. With laughter and embarrassment. Abraham stood eyes wide, mouth agape staring at Eugene like he was the missing link. Beet red you couldn't tell if it was because he was royally pissed or if he was just as embarrassed as you felt.
Sasha glared. She glared hard with intent. You had a feeling if Abraham didn't have her wrist in his hand she might have slapped the ever loving shit out of Eugene.
But then Daryl... God Daryl was unreadable. He looked somewhere torn between murderous and betrayed. It had taken you months to get Daryl back out of his shell after everything on the road... after the prison. If it weren't for you and Rick... He might not be in Alexandria at all. Your heart broke. A cold fear fell upon your shoulders. Daryl could fall back into it. Retract. Leave.
In your thoughts you'd missed what Eugene had been saying. He just kept talking... and talking... and talking. He always did. But this time was different, it was vile, filthy degrading things coming from his mouth. Things that made you angry and sickened and embarrassed.
"-tell you about how I could use my knowledge of science in the bedroom. I am smarter than you in everyway which is a huge turn on."
Enough...
"Oh and don't get me started on-"
Shut up...
"You should let me-"
Glaring daggers at Eugene you stood on the edge of the wall, now a full body height taller than him. Not that he seemed to mind one bit. Creep.
"Shut the fuck up." You hissed, feeling dirty as he nodded greedily at you. Hopping off the wall you landed on your feet beside him. Grabbing him by the collar you shoved him hard into the wall knocking his head into the the rocks. The shiver of pleasure that ran through him made your skin crawl.
"Let me get this through your thick fucking skull." You hissed getting into his face. "I do not want to have sex with you. I will never want to have sex with you." You growled shoving against him. But instead of an immediate pleasured sound he seemed to just examine you once more.
That is until you felt the presence shift behind you from emptiness to tense and protective. A dirty calloused hand gripped your forearm pulling you back a step to stand behind the archer's back to see his wings.
"They ain't gonna repeat it... but I sure as fuck will." Daryl growled stepping up nose to nose with Eugene.
"Don’t fuckin’ push yer luck. Stay the fuck away from 'em. If I ever see you houndin' round them again... I'll beat yer ass." He hiss tilting his head threateningly.
Eugene shivered and shook. His eyes wide in terror searching for yours and Abraham's for what you could only assume was assistance. But as you stood there, feeling not a drop of empathy for him, Abraham and Sasha came to stand beside you. Slamming his hand into the wall beside Eugene's head Daryl huffed.
"Hell if I even get wind of you comin' near them again and it's not for somethin' life or death. I'll beat your ass." Shoving away from the wall Daryl eyed Eugene with a shake of his head, distaste dripping from his expression.
"Ya think yer such a big man. Can do whatever the hell ya like jest cause ya can throw a few big words round... ya ain't shit. Now fuck off." He hissed walking over to you wrapping his arm around your waist. A dark angry look filled Eugene's eyes. One that sent shivers down your spine and creep to hide behind Daryl once more.
"You think just because you have strength that they are attracted to you. But you are an ignoramus a-" His rant was short lived. Daryl only had to move slightly, pretending to pull back in preparation to punch Eugene before the doctor was scurrying down the path faster than anyone had ever seen him move before.
"I'm gonna have a real stern talk with him... Excuse me" Abraham sighed scrubbing his hand down his face as he followed down the path to follow his friend. Sasha however waffled her feet her eyes flicking between Daryl and you.
"I'm going to just... go harvest... over there if you need me." She said awkwardly moving to the other side of the garden where she could very much still hear and see you both.
Slowly Daryl turned to face you his eyes glimmering with something dark and dangerous.
"Daryl..." You whispered shaking your head softly a pout playing on your lips. Slowly Daryl's fingers curled and unfurled around the nothingness that was the air. His piercing blues scanned down your body sending a shiver down your spine. You opened your mouth a breath was all you could take before his hand shot out and gripped your neck backing you into the wall he looked down at you with an intensity that brought goosebumps to your skin.
"He do this before? He hurt you?" Daryl growled protectively. His grip on your skin wasn't tight. But inviting and comforting. Reaching up to his wrist you felt him release his hold. Bringing his hand up to your lips slowly you kiss his knuckles then the palm of his hand.
"My love..." You whispered. "I would have told you in a heartbeat if anyone came near me."
Daryl watched you. Studied your actions. His hand relaxing against your lips. Fingers unfurling to take up your cheek and hold it as he pressed his forehead against yours.
“Fuckin better have.” He whispered softly. His eyes meeting yours. A deep yearning sucking you in as he met your lips, wrapping his arm around your waist possessively. Pulling you tight to his body you felt his need press into your hip. His tongue tangling with yours before trailing down your lips and jaw to the soft spot on your neck.
His breath caught in his throat. Words going unsaid Daryl pulled away glancing down the path Eugene and Abraham had just walked down. The soft glint in his eyes melting back into a hateful tone.
“Hey…” You whisper. “how about we go for a ride?” You ask interlocking your fingers in his. Cocking a brow Daryl simply blinked at you.
“Yeah. Why not?” You ask smiling up at him. “We can. Grab our gear from the house. Go to Aaron’s get some supplies. Tell Rick and make a week of it. How’s that sound. Just us outside the walls for a week?”
Lifting the side of his thumb to his mouth Daryl chewed and picked at it for several minutes, glancing over to where Sasha had wandered off to.
“Would you like that?” You whisper stepping forward slowly. Reaching up you wrapped your fingers around his wrist gently caressing your thumb across his skin, gentling his hand back to your side away from his mouth. Blue eyes met yours and you couldn’t help but swallow the thick nothing that got caught in your throat.
“Yeah…” He murmured. “Yeah let’s get the hell outta here.”
The ride to no where was soothing for the both of you. The rumble of the bike both lulled you into calm and ushered in a heat neither of you could ignore. Holding tight to Daryl’s middle your hands roaming did nothing to help the situation. The first safe place you found became the loudest once secured.
Scratch marks adorned your back. Sweat dripped down both your skin as you pressed your lips together. Murmuring of I love yous all throughout the night.
When you both returned a week later. Throughly happy, pleasured, relaxed and with treasures a plenty for Alexandria; Eugene, Abraham, and Sasha stood alongside Rick at the entrance. Daryl looked back at you. Waiting for your blessing before turning off the bike. Patting his side you nodded. You’d hear them out.
“I… would like to throughly express my apologies.” Eugene said softly, waffling his feet. “I acted irrationally and inappropriately. That was completely unacceptable. I hope we can continue to be friends.” He finished, glancing to Sasha and Abraham.
Sighing you glanced to Daryl. The murderous glint and anger was gone. Though he was waiting. Watching. He was watching you. Waiting on your reaction as much as you were watching his.
“I forgive you.” You say turning to Eugene, hugging Daryl tight around his middle. “I forgive you but I’m not happy with you.” A relief washed over Eugene though he nodded a serious look to his face.
“Understood. I have crossed a line I should never have crossed. It will not happen again.” He murmured. Hugging Daryl softly as if soothing a growling guard dog you smiled. “Good.”

My Woman | D.D.
Summary: Everyone knew that you and Daryl were together. That doesn’t stop the new group member from shooting his shot, maybe a little too aggressively, and Daryl isn’t happy about it.
Warnings: protective!Daryl, fem reader, swearing, threats, angst, unwanted touching, suggestive talk at the end, etc.
~
No one thinks that they’ll find love at the end of the world. Especially Daryl Dixon, of all people. That is… until you.
Daryl was a hard shell of a man with a heart bigger than anyone you had ever met. The day Michonne and Maggie came back from a supply run with another figure behind them, everyone was surprised. No one had been brought back to Alexandria in so long. This resulted in people concluding that they were the only people left in the area.
Daryl was the one to open the gate to allow the three women back into the gated community. Besides from Michonne and Maggie, Daryl was the first member of the community you laid your eyes on. He scared you, he scared you for a long time. There was a while after settling into your new home that you were scared to leave your home. You had lost everything and everyone- you had been alone for so long. It was almost as if you didn’t know how to be apart of a group anymore.
Looking back on those memories now still makes you laugh to this day. To say you’ve grown as a person is an understatement- you changed. You weren’t a scared woman anymore who couldn’t even make eye contact. You were better, healthier, and bolder.
You were officially introduced to Daryl through Rick. Daryl didn’t say much, simply grunted as an acknowledgement to your greeting. It pained you- you knew everyone saw you as weak. But, despite the bad first impression, something about you sparked Daryl’s interest.
So, he started coming around more. Some days he would even sit on the porch with you and talk about the past. He found himself opening up to you about things he hadn’t even told Carol, and you soon understood his rough exterior.
Now, 2 years later, that same man allows you to put his hair in a ponytail and loves to make you breakfast. No one would have expected Daryl to be this soft for a person, but he was for you. He loved you more than he ever remembered loving anyone.
“He’s starin’ again.”
Daryl’s gruff voice brought you out of your thoughts. You weren’t sure as to what he was talking about.
The small fire you and the group were sitting around illuminated the features of everyone around you. You looked up, trying to see who Daryl was talking about, only to immediately lock eyes with Tyler. You instantly regretted ever looking.
You looked away fast. Daryl’s hands tightened around your waist- he was burning holes in Tyler’s direction. The two didn’t like each other for two simple reasons: Daryl had you, and Tyler wanted you.
It was uncomfortable to be under another male gaze. It made you shiver in your skin and adjust yourself uncomfortably in Daryl’s lap.
“Leave it alone, Daryl.” You whispered softly to him, placing your hand over his. Daryl was tense, that’s for sure. Tyler had stopped looking after noticing Daryl shooting daggers in his direction.
“Nah, he’s gon’ learn.” Daryl speaks, finally tearing his eyes away from the younger male and looking at you. You were only inches from Daryl’s face, locking eyes with him through his bangs. You couldn’t help the smile that crawled into your lips.
“You’ve got me, baby. He’s nothing,” you reassured knowing that was what Daryl needed. Tyler glanced over at the couple and grimaced, not liking how close they were.
“Damn right,”
You giggled and placed a soft, quick kiss on his forehead. Daryl leaned into it, grunting.
The night drew on, everyone sitting and laughing around the fire as if there wasn’t a problem in the world. Daryl loosened up a bit after a while, soaking in your scent. He talked to Rick while you listened in and even added to the conversation here and there. You weren’t one for conversation, so they didn’t mind when you would speak up.
But, again, you felt eyes burning holes into your head. You knew you shouldn’t look, but you did anyway. Tyler’s eyes met yours when he noticed you looking, but he looked away quickly. You huffed in annoyance, not appreciating the extra attention.
“You alright?” Daryl questions, feeling your sigh. You were quick to plaster a smile on your face as if nothing had happened, standing up from his lap.
“Yes, everything’s fine.” You said softly to him, “It’s cold, I’m going to go grab a blanket real fast.”
You weren’t entirely lying. It was a chilly night and the fire wasn’t emitting as much heat as you liked. But, deep down, you really just needed break from Tyler’s gaze.
“Alright,” Daryl nodded, letting go of your hand. You smiled at him and made your way to the house which, thankfully, wasn’t far. Everyone was out by the fire so no one thought much of your absence.
It didn’t take you long for you to walk into the house and grab a blanket from off the couch. While you were in there, though, you went ahead and got a cup of water for your unusually dry throat.
Gulping down the refreshing liquid, you heard the front door open. You weren’t worried, though, figuring someone needed to use the bathroom.
When you didn’t hear the door close, though, you turned around. You were undeniably uneasy when you saw Tyler standing there, the front door slightly cracked behind him, hands in his pockets, rocking back and forth on his feet like he had something to say but didn’t know how to say it. You were confused, giving him a weird look as you placed your glass on the counter in-front of you.
“Um.. hey,” you spoke, obviously weirded out, “Do you need something?”
“I’m just trying to understand something..” Tyler starts to speak boldly, taking you by surprise how blunt he was being, “What do you see in him?”
You blinked and furrowed your eyebrows. Was he serious?
“Excuse me?” You scoffed, resting your hands on the counter.
“You know what I’m talking about, Y/N,” he said confidently, stepping closer, “The guy doesn’t even shower. What is so special about him?”
You didn’t appreciate your love for Daryl being questioned or your intentions.
“I’m not talking with you about this,” you speak quickly, grabbing the blanket you came for, “I don’t owe you shit.”
You went to walk past him, hoping he would catch the drift and drop it. Hopefully never even talk to you again. But, those dreams were shattered when he grabbed your wrist aggressively.
“Don’t walk away from me, Y/N.” He spoke lowly, it almost frightened you, “I think you’re trying to leave cause you know I’m right. He’s not good enough for you.”
“Tyler, if you don’t let me go, I’m going to break your arm.” You spat, not letting your nervousness get the best of you. He only tightened his grip, looking between you and his hand on your wrist, almost debating what he wanted to do.
“She said let go, you hard of hearin’?”
Daryl. He had seen it all, standing outside the door listening before making his way into the house. He grew concerned when he saw Tyler get up and leave the fire and wanted to make sure you were okay. Clearly, his fears were justified.
Tyler’s eyes widened at the sight of Daryl. He immediately dropped your wrist, letting you go as if you were fire and had burned him. He started backing away, hands up in defense.
“W-We were just talking, man.” Tyler stuttered out nervously. Daryl looked at you and you gave him a look telling him how uncomfortable you were. He snaked his arm around your waist, pulling you into his side before looking back to Tyler.
“Tell ya what,” Daryl speaks, “If I ever find ya even talkin’ to her again, I’ll blow yer fuckin’ brains out.”
Tyler looked like he was ready to piss himself. He nodded in agreement aggressively, ready to leave the tense situation. But, as he went to leave the room, Daryl grabbed him by the arm.
“And if I ever see ya touch my woman again, I’ll make ya cry for yer mama before I let the walkers have ya.”
That was enough for Tyler. He bolted out the door, making you laugh. Daryl had an amused smirk on his face, knowing you got a kick out of that.
“My hero.” You joked, leaning up to catch Daryl’s lips in yours. He grunted against your kiss and held onto your hips, pulling you into his front. You smiled, wrapping your arms around his neck.
Your hands tugged at his hair as he deepened the kiss, putting his hand on the small of your back to keep you upright and pressed against him.
Daryl felt his jeans tightening by the second, so he knew you could feel him hardening against you.
Pulling away, you smiled at him, biting your bottom lip.
“Wanna take this upstairs?” You suggested, bringing your hands to play with the hem of his shirt.
“Hell yea.”

reader pronouns: unspecified warnings: references to domestic abuse, descriptions of injury, fear and anxiety, Daryl to the rescue. Please read with care.
Daryl rushed to the opening of his tent, crossbow in hand, as he heard the rustling of something or someone approaching his camp through the brush. "Who's there?" he growled, crossbow at the ready. But when the figure emerged his stomach dropped into his boots.
You stepped out of the woods, tear stains on your cheeks, not even a pack with you and no outerwear despite the cold and rainy day. But worse than all that was that you were completely battered and bruised.
"Y/N—" he asked, rushing over to you, discarding his crossbow hurriedly nearby. "Jesus... look at ya," he gasped, studying your face. One half of your face was covered in a spattering of dark bruises and your eye was still a little swollen. He gently gripped your upper arms and you began to cry all over again, going to pieces under his soft touch. He clasped your face and tilted your chin to the side so he could look at the particularly dark and puffy bruises on your cheekbone and jaw. His fingertips were so light on your skin so careful. That alone was enough to bring you to tears again—he touched you with such care, the complete opposite of what had been happening to you at home.
A caustic rage began to boil in his stomach. He knew exactly who had done this to you, and he knew exactly what he was going to do about it, but for now he had to bite back that anger and be here in the moment for you. Your safety and comfort was the most important thing in the world right now. Vengeance could come later. "C'mon. Let's get ya inside outta the cold rain."
You staggered after him, gasping in a few breaths as you tried not to sob. He led you inside his tent and sat you down on the edge of his makeshift cot. "I—I didn't know where else to go," you stammered. "I'm sorry f—for j—just showing up here." You were shivering and shaking from some combination of the cold and the obvious trauma. Seeing how bad the bruises were on your face had him wondering what injuries were under your clothes that he couldn't see... "It's alrigh'," he soothed. "Don't ya apologize to me for that," he said. He wrapped a thick wool blanket around you and sunk down beside you on the edge of his cot.
You huddled into the blanket and met his blue eyes. His constantly flickered over your injuries, a pronounced ache in his chest accompanied by a surge of fury every time they hit one. Tears continued to run down your cheeks and he gently wiped them away with the back of his fingers before resting his hands on your shoulders. The weight of them was grounding. "Yer okay now," he drawled. "Yer safe here, alrigh'? I ain't gonna let anythin' happen to ya. S'okay."
You sniffled and fell against him, shutting your eyes and listening to his strong heartbeat. "You're the only place I feel safe," you admitted.
And Daryl realized right then just how much he'd left behind in Alexandria. He wrapped you up in his arms and pressed you tightly against him. "Yer safe. 'M so sorry I wasn't there... 'm so sorry..." He'd been selfish, running away. "'M so sorry."
You fingers gripped onto his familiar vest and curled into it. He smoothed a hand over your hair and tucked you into the crook of his neck.
"'M gonna take care of ya and all of this. Dun worry. I've got ya."
Prompt: "I didn't know where else to go." A/N: *sobs* Protective!Daryl is just the best thing ever...

Protective
Rickyl x fem!reader
Summary: When Spencer tries flirting with you and won't take the hint that you're not interested Rick and Daryl come to your rescue.
You were out in the garden helping Maggie all morning. She had just run back inside to get some lunch when Spencer approached you. You didn't particularly like Spencer mostly because he was always flirting with you. "Hey Y/N" He says. "Hi Spencer" you reply going back to work. "You should take a break" he says. "I'm fine. But thanks" you reply trying to remain kind. "Well when you're done you should come over to my house for dinner." he suggests. "No I don't think my boyfriends would like that very much." you reply. You notice Rick and Daryl watching you out of the corner of your eye. "They don't have to know" he say taking a step closer. He puts his hand on you arm and you pull back. That's all it takes for the two men to storm towards you. "She's not interested" Daryl snaps. "I suggest you leave" Rick says. "Or what you'll arrest me?" Spencer jokes. "Oh we'll do way worse" Rick replies and they both stare Spencer down until he gives up and leaves. "Thank you" you tell them. "Are you okay?" Daryl asks. "Yeah I'm fine. Let's just go home" you say and grab their hands before walking back to your shared house.

oh god the first three gifs… dating pre-apocalypse daryl and him waiting everyday for you after your shift 🥺 either takes you home cause you’re tired or rides around cause you’re stressed
pls :') you work at an old diner and he waits by the backdoor cause there's almost no one there, ever. most of the other workers leave through the front door except for one or two others like you, but they don't work the same shifts as you. that means there's no one to watch you as you skip towards daryl and slump yourself against his chest with an exhausted sigh while he leans against the bike.
"hi, handsome," you whisper and leave a sweet little kiss on the base of his neck. if there were people around you know you wouldn't be able to do it, so you take full advantage of the empty street.
"hey." there's the tiniest bit of pink on the tip of his ears that you think is adorable. he flicks the end of the cigarette, ashes falling to the ground. he could see the tiredness on your face the moment you opened the diner door. "shit day?"
"the shittiest," you whine and squeeze his middle tighter.
daryl tangles his free hand in between the strands of your hair and massages your scalp. "somethin' happen?" he asks casually, but you know there's an edge to his question.
you like your job, you really do. but there's been a few times daryl's had to resort to his fists and mean words to get creepy guys to leave you alone. more times than you'd like.
"no, just an entitled old lady and some annoying teenagers." you skip over the part where you could feel the teen boys trying to take a peak under your uniform skirt. daryl looks relaxed for once and you'd like to keep him like that, not give him an aneurysm on a friday afternoon. "just wanna go home and sleep the entire weekend."
"can do tha' for ya." he throws the cigarette away and places the helmet safely over your head. he only has one and he never wears it, only carries it around for you. doesn't matter how many times you tell him to wear one you always got the same scoffed answer: "ain't no pansy, woman. don't need no helmet."
he helps you get on his bike and gives your thighs a good old pat before kicking the kickstand back into resting position and bringing the bike back to life.
#..why did i write so much lmao#i was reading a fic earlier and merle said smth about daryl always liking the sweeter girls and idk it inspired this#(it is true tho i was one of his girlfriends!!!)#lowkey wanna date pre-apocalypse/s1-s3 daryl like.. he's so mean to everyone but so sweet to you ughhhh i want him to protect me 🥺#daryldixon#daryl dixon x reader#daryl dixon imagine

I got to see the premiere in New York this week and I do think that if you are torn about TBOC (like me) bc you want to support Melissa but don't want to support nun shipbaiting etc., then watching just the premiere is a good way to do that.
That episode is almost entirely about Carol and so driven by Melissa's creative input. I think and hope that showing up for her by watching that episode will help.
I still hope that the following episodes will be better than many of us fear, but none of us can know until they air.
I'm in the UK, so the episodes will be released here a few days after the US. I think my plan is to watch the premiere as soon as I can on 4th Oct (the release date here). And realistically, I will then keep watching until/if things that happen start to get too unsettling for me to enjoy.
Always look after your mental health first.
#i cant believe how serious this account has gotten#i just wanted to post funny shippy shit about caryl and now i feel like we're all in a mission to protect our mental health and actors#this is so insane to me#caryl#the book of carol#twd: daryl dixon

Arrow and Her Boss man
Notes: not proofread, Tell me what you think and if i should do a pt.3! 900 words DDxY/N - platonic (y/n is Daryl's younger sister) RGxY/N - platonic (Y/N sees rick like a dad and he sees her as a daughter) Daryl calls reader Arrow as a nick name and she calls him Boss man.
Tears spilled down her face. Daryl was here, he was here and alive…and bleeding.
“Oh my god Boss wait, you’re bleeding…” She hurriedly pulls away and inspects his face. It seems Rick landed a blow to the face, and split Daryl’s lip but other than that he seemed fine, she concluded. Unbeknownst to her, her brother was looking at the months toll surviving took on his sister.
Winding her arms around her brother again, her emotions reign back in. While she was the more feeling of the Dixon children she still didn't know like 90% of the people around her.
“What are you doing with this pig and why’d you call him that?” Daryl whispers to the girl.
“Long story. Tell you later” slowly pulling away from her older brother she tries to lead him away.
But Daryl is nothing if not stubborn, wrenching himself away from his sister he walks over to the man again and grabs him by the collar,
“What did you do,cowboy?” he growls.
Rick has his hands up, “Nothing, man. Except watch her back.”
“It’s true boss!” she cries, trying to pry her brother off her pseudo father.
“You stay away from us, cowboy. Or you and me gonna have problems.”
“Daryl-” she looks at him shocked, “i said what i said! You are my responsibility! Not his! You are my kid, not his. Now get!” he growled as he pulled her back to his secluded area of camp.
All while Rick stares sadly, watches the girl that became another child be pulled away by her blood, with no way to stop it.
Over the next few weeks Daryl noticed Arrow retreat into herself a little. She would smile at him, happy to have her big brother back, but Daryl did see the lingering sadness that hung in her eyes like stars. A sadness that just got deeper as she looked on the Grimes Family. A family that could’ve been hers. She felt like she should resent her brother, somewhat, for ripping that from her. But she knew it came from a place of love and protection. All through her youth she looked to Daryl. She looked to him to stop the relentless beatings of their father, she looked to him to protect her in the night from merle’s skeezy friends were around, she always looked to him. And she knew he didn't know or trust Rick yet. So she understood, and she hated how damn understanding she was. but she couldn't help it. She loved Daryl and didn't want to leave him. She stayed isolated at their little Camp a ways from the main camp. She went hunting with her brother during the morning, and made runs in the afternoon. Like Daryl, she helped provide for the group but stayed to herself.
Rick saw this and knew this was her relenting and respecting her brother, but it still saddened him. He missed teasing her finds and telling her dad jokes. He missed her. But he didn't push her. Daryl however he pushed his buttons all day long. He couldn't understand why her brother wouldn't let her be with her family. In fact he had invited the both of them to join his family and was declined with some very choice words.
That was until one day when it all came to a head. Arrow had been out on a run to a nearby town, alone. as she was scoping out of the store she ran into some trouble with some walkers. gracefully taking them out only to then be hounded by raiders. Now the fight with the Raiders was not when most would expect she was well qualified to handle herself. However the back-to-back incidents of the Walker herd and the Raider assholes, made this run in that much more disastrous.
To this day the group still don't know what exactly went down, except that all the Raiders didn't have to worry about walkers anymore.
What they did know for sure was about an hour after Arrow was supposed to be due back she spotted entering camp with a limp. the first person to notice is Rick because he is closest to the road and had been waiting watching across from Daryl who had been sitting at camp. He runs out to her and hugs her; she hugs him back only to then slump forward after a wave of dizziness hits her.
“ Arrow what's wrong?” Rick asked and panicked.
“ i-i-m not sure…” Arrow lets out.
It's then that Rick sees the blood seeping through her pant leg.
“No, NO. You’re fine, you’re ok… Shane! HELP ME.” Rick is doing his best to stop the bleeding as his friend pushes past where Daryl stands in shock. As he stands there watching Rick and Shane help wrap the wound and haul his baby sister into Hershel's RV, he starts to see that Rick really is her father, because while yes he raised her when it came down to it.
With his sister in pain and bleeding out from a leg wound he stood there in shock. Yes, there was panic. Yes, there was fear. But not the same kind of gut wrenching, blood freezing, heart pounding fear he saw in Rick. As he is coming to his epiphany, he realizes another thing, Would she live long enough for him to apologize?
