The office discussion actually made me so uncomfortable, it was so inappropriate and unnecessary, why didn't we take that time to... just show at least a bit of the surgery and aftermath or whatever? Like that was such a huge thing in the past 2-3 eps but it just... disappears and we assume it was successful bc of the ending

Overall:

I'm so glad I got over my pseudo-incest brother-lover aversion because I can now watch this stuff in delight. Though I must say, my favourite aspect of this show is the little family trio with Qian, Yuan, and Lili, with San Pang occasionally invited as well. I loved how they cared for each other and how though Lili was left out of the romantic duo inside their trio, it didn't feel like she was forgotten or sidelined. They each had specific relationships with each of the other people, their interactions had their own flavours and it was so good.

The romance itself hm I think the development was nice, especially from Yuan's side since we saw how he thought of Qian and how he supported him and such. We also saw a bit of how Qian was so lost when Yuan was gone that even San Pang was wondering whether Qian liked Yuan and it would've been better if they hadn't sent him away. It just feels like since there was so much angst and build-up for like 10 episodes, their actual coming together should have been grander. The sex feels a bit sudden, I don't think it should've happened right after that conversation because Qian was barely ready to admit whether he saw Yuan as more romantically than just a brother, and then the editing of it all was terrible.

The surgery stuff also kinda dwindled, if they'd brought it up, I wished they would've at least shown the direct aftermath or whatever. I despised how we had the office Yuan/Qian gossip for so long in episode 12, we could've used it for better things. At least we ended with the Lili pregnancy announcement and coming together over that, which reminded me just at the end why I liked the show.

Some other things I really loved: 1) Qian's face, holy shit. Qian is so beautiful, like incredibly attractive to me, woah. Reminds me of Na Jaemin who I was also taken by when I stanned NCT; is it the lower half of their faces/their mouths? 2) The 2 scenes where Qian finds out Lili and San Pang are dating in ep 8 + finds out Lili's pregnant in ep 12 and just going to kill San Pang lol (also loved how Yuan was enjoying it in ep 8 but was helping San Pang and Lili out in ep 12 lol). 3) The episodes, especially the earlier-middle ones, were so addictive, I didn't end up reading the on-air reddit threads because I was too into watching the next ep instead of reading about it.

In the end, I don't think I'll think about it often, especially not the Yuan/Qian ship unless just to remember the brother-lover trope and even then, Kiseki's Chen Yi/Ai Di gave me more intense brainworms for a similar trope I think. I'm disappointed that I didn't love the show, its flaws are at moments that are too important. So deeply conflicted about whether to give 6 or 6.5, I'll go with 6.5 for now.

to answer how jeno felt when he found out about 'mosquito boy', aka jaemin being mc's rebound in ch2, he was very... confused. by a lot of things. the first being that he didn't even know mc liked jaemin like that at one point (because in his head he doesn't quiiite realize that it was just a hookup, that there were no serious feelings involved- plus, he's always taken note of how much jaemin dotes on mc, so he's always had a suspicion that maybe, just maybe, jaemin might've had some kind of feelings for you too; and this rebound thing only confirms that for him) and he's kind of beating himself up about the fact that he never 'noticed' something going on between mc and jaem at the lake house. the second thing he's confused by is why he is so pissed at jaemin. he assumes he's mad at him for fucking around with mc in the first place when that's marks little sister (like cmon, brocode, wtf) (or maybe jeno is projecting? hmm) (or maybe he's just envious that jaemin had the balls to do something about how he felt regardless of how mark might react, hmmmmm) and he's also definitely mad at jaem for just... not telling him.

and about the siblings LMAO i only realized when i was rereading ch3 for the last time before posting that big brother mark is this huge, looming figure in the fic, mentioned every five seconds, and that basically all the conflict is because of him either directly or indirectly.... but he has literally not showed up in this fic at all 💀 he has not had one line of dialogue in misdial yet (that text in ch1 doesn't count 😭) but i promise you mark's time is coming

and yes, to clarify, you're pretty much exactly right about why jeno never said anything to anyone about how he felt,,,, like mark is his Best Friend, yknow? there are so many different reasons jeno felt it would be better to just keep his mouth shut about 1. knowing mc liked him, and 2. liking her back. the main one is that mark has made it clear how much he admires and cares about his little sister, and while he's never outright condemned any of mcs relationships or crushes or interests, it is so incredibly, painfully obvious that he does not think any human being on earth is good enough for her. (not to mention the fear of fucking up with mc somehow and the wrath mark would put rain upon him if so... with the added depressing edge that jeno knows mark would Hate having to play mediator between him, his best & closest friend, and mc, his literal baby sister)

and i think thats it omg i apologize for responding with such big walls of text, i just loved your message so much LOL all the questions and emotions you had were great and i enjoyed reading and thinking about my answer very much,,,, if you have any more questions i would 1000000% love to answer them 💪

Pairing: Reader x IdolBoyfriend!Jaemin Summary: In the midst of NCT Dream’s comeback, you find your boyfriend Jaemin sulking over the scandals surrounding him and his group.

When Jaemin had not responded to your texts for a day or two, you were not worried.

He was an idol, after all, with an unpredictable schedule and so he often did that, not being able to reply from his personal phone for a couple hours due to the demanding nature of his job. At first it had bothered you, but as your relationship together surpassed a year together, you had grown accustomed to it. It was your way of being accepting and understanding of your boyfriend’s job.

What does worry you is when Jeno texts you one afternoon on a Wednesday, asking for you to come over immediately.

At his tone, you immediately drop whatever unimportant task you’re doing and catch the nearest taxi to NCT Dream’s dorm.

Being the middle of the week, Dream had seemingly had no schedules (aside from Haechan who had been working simultaneously with NCT 127). So when you knock on the door it is not Jaemin, but Renjun who greets you.

“Oh. Hi Y/N.” It is his laidback typical tone, but he offers you a small Renjun-like smile as he welcomes you in. “I take it Jeno called you over?”

“Yeah,” you quickly reply, taking off your shoes to leave you in your socks. “Where’s Jaemin?”

“In his room.” As you expected. You are about to make your way through the familiar dorm and into Jaemin’s shared room with Jisung, until Renjun grabs your shoulder softly. “He’s really upset, Y/N. We’ve tried everything but he just.. he wanted to be alone. So we had no choice but to call you too.”

He was upset?

You immediately knew why, both from your general knowledge and Renjun’s tone. It had been hard to miss, actually. All the drama that surrounded your boyfriend. First, the day of Dream’s comeback had also dropped a rumor of him dating one of his co-stars from his drama. This rumor had not bothered you, for you knew you had a secure relationship with Jaemin, and with a quick confirmation from him did you put these worries to rest. The next however, was harder to shield. Do not let this interfere with your dream, which you worked so hard for.” With this you press a soft kiss to his lips, and you feel him smile against yours.

After a moment you feel his arms wrap around your waist, pressing him to you. “Thank you,” he whispers softly. “I’m sorry to complain to you.”

“It’s okay, I know you were upset… I want you to talk to me when you need to, Jaem. You don’t have to keep a strong front because you don’t want to worry me, or because you think I won’t understand because I’m not an idol.”

Right 10 seconds before the end of the first period, Jaehyun managed to shoot the puck into the goal to make it 3-2 then they will be having a 15 minutes intermission and they went back to the players bench to rest.

Ice hockey is a physically demanding sport, so players in the first period won’t be participating in the second period. The second group of people will be playing for the second period.

On the other hand, Korea University’s team leader Kwanhae witness everything himself, he has a crush on you too. A few weeks ago, when he came to Yonsei University, he saw you from a far distance immediately attracted by your beauty. Just as he was about to talk to you, his coach called him away.

The ice hockey team is actively practicing a lot for Men's Hockey Asia Cup as Korea will be start selecting 2 groups of representatives for the Men's Hockey Asia Cup. The selection is coming to an end, and the remaining 4 groups including Yonsei University will go to the final.

Due to Kwanhae's serious injury, the organizers decided to discuss whether to postpone to another day or disqualify Jaehyun to continue playing the game. “The game today will be cancelled, announcement will be made in a few days.” The referee said and dismissed the crowd.

You ran down to the players bench. “Are you okay? What happened?” You are very worried about Jaehyun. “I’m sorry (Y/N).” Jaehyun caressing your face as the doctor is checking on Jaehyun’s legs. “What? Why? You okay? Are you hurt?” You looking at him worriedly. “It was Kwanhae. “I'm afraid he has broke his calf, I recommend more-detailed images using CT scan or MRI.” The doctor said they get a wheelchair and ready to go to the hospital. “It's only going to be a minor operation, you can follow him in an ambulance.” You nod and follow them to hospital.

When you all arrived the hospital, they sent him to MRI and diagnosed Jaehyun with Greenstick fracture. He will have to plaster his leg for 6-8 weeks and will come back to follow-up. “So he couldn’t participate in this game?” You asked the doctor. “Unfortunately he can’t, even after he recovered he still have to rest for about 2 months is my recommendation but 3-4 months is even better.” The doctor shake his head and said. You nod then head back home with Jaehyun.
