Last night's show started with 2 songs from the great Centrafrican Jazz, a beloved group from the Central African Republic 🎶 The band was led by Prosper Mayélé, pictured on the album cover above. According to the incredible site Maziki.fr, Prosper filled in as guitarist for the Congolese band African Jazz during a show of theirs in the Central African Republic in 1954. The bandleader Joseph Kabasele was so impressed by Prosper's playing, he offered him a spot in his band.
