Aren't you technically proship if you just leave people alone/block them if they write gross stuff? Feels odd to see "proship dni" in your bio, since you obviously know what it means and part of that is knowing it doesn't actually mean people who write or draw gross stuff.

I do know what “Proship” means, but do you? Like, the modern definition of it? Do you know what it implies in shorthand? Do you even know what “DNI” means? I don’t want people using incest and pedophilia as a basis for romance/shipping rather than horror interacting with me, which means I don’t want to interact with them, either. If someone’s into that kind of thing to the point of making it an open labeled part of their identity, I’m not going to magically change their mind by badgering them about it in their inbox. This is not difficult to understand.

I am allowed to be uncomfortable with a certain crowd to the point of not wanting to be near them. This does not magically make me a part of that crowd. This line of logic is insane, and I can’t even tell if this is bait or not because I’ve seen so many fucking people argue like this before. Predominantly card carrying Proshippers. I am often followed by people whose blogs say “proshippers DNI.”

I am a proshipper. This is not a secret. I ship Ravage/Soundwave, and I’ve been harassed by antis because of it. I don’t care if you like it or not because you can block me or choose not to read my stuff. I have a zero tolerance policy regarding the harassment and defamation of writers and artists over their works.

If your blog says “proshippers DNI” but you interact with me anyway, then I’m going to assume you didn’t really mean it and are just virtue signalling.

this week ive confronted three proshippers in less than a day on twitter. I'm not even going to censor it because holy fuck people are brain dead in this waking green earth we live in. and it was trigun. plantcest. the tweet proved my point that people would give more of a shit with shipping siblings than fucking walk outside from the sun on their faces.

I only tweeted about a few ships I like having this odd second interest with an plantcest, because I was grossed out. ofc ud be grossed out its incest for fucks sake. and then these assholes showed up quote retweeted. and guess what? these guys were adults. with their nsfw accounts open wide. interacting with a minor. getting my point here?

first one joked about it's cool to have more the merrier with the incest ship, one had the fucking gall to call me 'darling' or 'honey', making me look like the stupid one.

and the other one I fucking despised my whole life, was this nsfw account, who's 24 YEARS OLD, misgendering me, tell me to do my research about an incest ship I couldnt give less of a damn to even look up, and telling me to leave them the fuck alone, with a corny ass aizawa reaction image.

like what the fuck? did they think what their doing was a smart move because of something so gross I don't have some kind of decency to react about it like any other person would? are they really trying to embarrass themselves?

I say on this blog more often than should be necessary that if a blog isn't actually harassing anyone, leave them alone. That what you should do is remove yourself from the offense you feel by unfollowing and/or blocking. Not engaging with them or their content, directly/to their knowledge or otherwise, out of a desire to take them to task for whatever it is that's offended you.

However, I feel like maybe that's unclear, as the message people seem to be getting is something like "yeah, that's so true, except this because it offended me personally."

Harassment does not mean being offended, having one's feelings hurt, or being told not to interact. No, does not matter how hostile someone's content, rules, DNI, or general attitude on their blog is, it's not harassment because it made you feel some kind of negative way.

As an example:

A blog has on their pinned post a DNI that is definitely offensive, immature, patently ridiculous. They vaguely use terms like "proshipper" paired with descriptors, but they don't actually drop any URLs or have links to callouts present.

Another blog does the above, but also has numerous URLs and namedropping and as well as links to callouts.

The first blog is gross and you should avoid them, you're totally entitled to be offended, angry, or even hurt. They are definitely part of the problem, but they're entitled to be as ignorant and offensive as they wish to be in their own space if they're not harassing anyone. And so far? They're not. So, just block and avoid because doing otherwise isn't going to magically change their mind or anything anyway.

The second blog, however, is harassing people, promoting harassment, and serving as a hub for harassment. While I don't feel like returning the favor does any good here either, you can block, use their posts to further cultivate your block list, not reblog anything from them, and even privately advise friends of what you've seen so they can do the same if they so choose.

Harassment is actually going out of your way to target other people for hate anons, callouts, and the sort of mindless group attacking that happens easily in the RPC. Not just something that you don't like, agree with, approve of, or feel is immoral.

I'm sorry, but it's perturbing that people are against harassment and the things that lead to it while partaking in the same mindset that fuels it. The same logical fallacies are quite glaring.

If you feel like fiction doesn't equal reality and people can write what/who they want...except for xyz

If you feel like everyone has the same rights in their personal space...except for xyz

If you draw the line at even vehemently disliking someone else, being put off by their negativity or aggression, or having polar opposite takes

If everything comes back down to a nugget center of Think Of The Children/protect children at all costs

You are literally dealing in the same "logic" as the purity police, congratulations.

Actual best rule to follow: if you don't like something on a blog to such an extreme that you want to drop into their inbox or comments about it, unfollow them, this isn't the blog for you.

So, okay. I've been ignoring an ask we got and I blocked the sender, but it's annoyed me so much these past few days I've decided to address it.

The sender accused us of using gifs made by people with "proship and fujoshi dni" for our Hagrid stimboard and that we should just "leave them alone."

That simply isn't true. 7/8 of the gifs we used were sourced from explicitly proship safe blogs, and the 8th one was from a blog with no DNI whatsoever.

Sorry (NOT sorry) antis, but, not all the nice gifs come from your toxic community. In fact we take pride in doing our best to source gifs from sources that are inclusive, not toxic. Because why tf would we want our followers to be exposed to that??

Anyway, we're not perfect either. If any of our stimboards have sources that are gross towards proshippers, fujin etc please tell us (with evidence and telling us which gif specifically) and we'll fix that bc fuck no im not platforming antis. But anyway yeah. Hope that clears some stuff up.
