For What It's Worth - Part 1 Rex x Reader
Summary: You've never been very subtle about your support of clone rights, especially after you started secretly dating Rex. But you never thought a few simple pins would bring you this kind of trouble. All alone, on the mean streets of Coruscant, your life is suddenly in danger and you don't know if you'll be able to make it back to him. Warnings: reader is afab, mugging, attack on the street, general violence, degrading language, clone rights propaganda, physical violence but no noncon/sexual assault, mature sexual content in later chapters, minors: get out
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7
The button had been a joke.
Clones Do It Better, emblazoned on a bright red & blue button in obnoxious font and accompanied by a little cartoon helmet, was pinned to your work bag. A gift from a very close friend who knew your habit of decorating every surface you owned with stickers, patches, and yes, pins.Â
She also happened to know about your very secret relationship with a certain well-known clone high in the GAR ranks. So it was a particularly cheeky inside joke that youâd happily added to your collection. But it was still, in fact, a joke.
The men whoâd pulled you into that alleyway clearly didnât know that.
To be fair, the other buttons youâd proudly worn on your backpack - Clone Rights NOW, Fight for Those Who Fight For Us, Humanity Beyond the Helmet - were not jokes. You believed every word.
To be even fairer, that didnât give these bastards permission to shove your face - hard - against a cold metal wall, arm so horribly twisted behind your back that you swore you felt a bone start to give way.Â
You cried out, tears springing from the corners of your eyes. They laughed, a cruel, rotten sound that landed like a stone in the pit of your stomach. From the jeers you couldnât make out - you might be concussed, and was that blood you felt dripping off your brow? - and the shuffling of feet behind you, you thought there were three of them. They sounded young, irrationally angry, and quite drunk.
â...fucking meat droid whore!â Your brain finally began filtering through all the noise.
Ah. So that was it. They saw your backpack as you were leaving work for the night. It wasnât hard to spot, you were practically a walking pro-clone advertisement. And it wasnât the first time youâd gotten a dirty look or even a nasty comment because of it. But you never thought, not even in one of the rougher districts, you would find yourself in this position.Â
There were very persistent anti-clone movements out there. People who saw every soldier in the GAR as less than human. Why should they care about an expensive vanity project for the senate and the jedi, anyway? The clones were being put through a galactic meat grinder regardless, and certain people decided they didnât give a shit. And it seems, some of them had found you.
Alentia was going to feel awful when she found out. Â
You push yourself away from the wall with your other hand and take stock of your situation. Youâre outnumbered, youâre dazed, youâre trapped, and youâre not sure if the blood from your forehead has reached your lip or if your nose is bleeding too.
âCanât believe she let a bunch of second-hand cells fuck her-â
âRuined herself on a lab experiment-â
You were still in your medicâs uniform, not much protection there. One of them had you by your hair and arm. Another cut away at the straps on your backpack.Â
Great, there was a knife in play somewhere.Â
âMaybe sheâs so ugly that nat-borns wonât have her-â
But⌠They didnât know that you kept your comm hooked to your belt, instead of at your wrist. It was better when you were at work, less external nonsense near your hands. And they didnât know about the emergency button that your boyfriend had reprogrammed to go to a very specific direct line, just in case.
They didnât even see you reach down and hit it. The man who had you pinned was too busy yanking your head back by your hair. You bit your lip to keep from crying out.
His friends were slashing your backpack to bits, stomping on the buttons that fell from the scraps.
âGot nothing to say, bitch?â
No, you really didnât. You didnât care to explain yourself to a trio of prejudiced little boys with too much booze and cruelty in their blood. You didnât give a shit as to why they thought what they were doing was justified or noble or right with the world. Spots were forming in front of your eyes and you wanted so very badly to close them.
Iâll be back in three days, cyare, heâd said, late at night when he could finally get away from his men and make a covert call.Â
Right. Heâd be back. And youâd be waiting.
It would take under ten minutes for someone to answer your emergency distress call. Heâd assured you of that when heâd programmed the number in. Someone was coming. Theyâd be here any second. You had to stall.Â
So you could see Rex again.

Chapter One
One For The Money - Chapter 2 - bhaalistbabe - ćä¸ćˇąçŠş | Love and Deepspace (Video Game) [Archive of Our Own]
âThere she is!â
In a matter of seconds Iâm pulled to the bar and a drink thrust into my hand. But it isnât the too loud music or the rush of introductions that I pay attention to. Names Iâm only going to forget the moment they leave Cashâs lips. It was the way violet eyes pierce my back. Searing into me like he was trying to burn me alive where I stood. It made my skin crawl.
I easily down half of the glass in my hand. Then turn to face the man Iâd been dreading since the moment our eyes met. âCaleb, good to see youâre not dead.â
A lie.
Iâd wished he would every day of our shared childhood. It wasnât a secret that we hated each other. It was marked in every interaction we had since the age of eight. Precisely a year after my parents marriage failed and I was consistently dumped on Josephineâs doorstep with a backpack strapped over my shoulder. I didnât know what about that moment made us hate each other so. But it didnât really matter, did it?
His jaw ticks. Something like irritation flashing over his face. Like he was physically holding back from doing something he knew he shouldnât. âSomehow I doubt that.â
âGood to see youâre still a dick.â
âAnd youâre just as charming as ever,â his tone drips with faux sweetness, it makes my stomach churn, âI almost forgot what a joy you are to be around.â
A smirk pulls on the corners of my lips as I bat my lashes in a show of mock innocence, âOh, did you miss me, âLeb?â
Calebâs head tilts. His eyes shifting into something not quite warm but pretending to be. Dark hair shifting to hang in his violet eyes. Calculating. Controlled. Almost violent in the way he looks at me. Like there was something off about the boy from my childhood who was often described as kind-hearted and charming. But I never saw him as either of those things. There was always something different about him. Like he was a bomb ready to blow given the opportunity. I just happened to be the trigger.
âAbout as much as a bad case of the flu.â
An opportunity. A disgusting need to push and push and push until he snapped coils inside me. To see just how far I could push him until he gave. What it would take to see Calebâs pretty, perfect image shatter.
It takes one solid drink to down half the drink in my hand. âIf I recall, you used to fake being sick so Mckeena would take care of you. Oh wait, my bad, you dropped everything at the drop of a hat when she got sick. My mistake.â
His jaw twitched. The barest hint of annoyance. Or maybe even anger. Either way, I didnât care. I wanted him to snap. To lose every shred of control I knew he was fighting right now. I wanted to see him unhinged. To know that I was right and that carefully curated facade he had built up over the years was a lie. I wanted to watch it happen.Â
âThat was a long time ago,â he said, voice lowâcontrolled, âThings have changed.â
I tilt my head curiouslyâtauntingly, âHas it? Or are you still chasing a fairytale.â
I could see it. That slow unraveling of resolve in the deep purple of his eyes. A rope that was starting to untether until it inevitably snapped. Fraying at the ends.
âYou donât know anything.â
I smirk. âDonât I? I think I know you pretty well actually.âÂ
âYou donât. You never have.â
âI know enough to have a pretty good idea of you, Caleb.â
âYeah? What about you?â
There it was.Â
That flicker that something was breaking inside him. A rage that was slowly building into a wildfire beneath his skin. All I had to do was push a little further. Find that last little shred of control and slice it.
âWhat about me?â I laugh. A bitter, harsh, sardonic sound.
âYou really want me to list your sins? Air all your dirty laundry out? Fine. I know enough about you to know that youâre a mess. Youâre reckless, careless, and self-destructive.â
Rage.
Furious and blinding as it consumes me. It never took much to ignite the flame in me. And I had never been good at masking my emotions. I felt too much too often. My emotions running bone deep and to my core until theyâre all I am. When I was a child, Cash used to say that I often experienced one emotion at a time. That my tiny body could only handle one after another. Itâs why Caleb started calling me âpixieâ. And the shitty thing about this? I didnât know why it infuriated me that Caleb knew me so intimately. Iâd been a mess as a teen, sure. But still relatively cautious. Still careful. Enough that my mess was contained.
Caleb continued. Eyes boring into mine. âI know that you spread your legs for anyone who so much as gives you a compliment.â
Rage.
My hand curls into a fist at my side. Nails digging into my palm. And before I knew what was happening my knuckles were colliding with the side of his jaw. His head snaps sideways with the force of the hit, the corner of his lip now slightly swollen and bleeding. He brings a gloved hand to his mouth, wiping the small amount of blood from his lip with this thumb. And raises his brows, almost like he was impressed. A flicker of something I canât quite name hints in his eyes. And Iâm not sure I want to name it.
When I finally find it in me to speak, my voice is kind of deadly calm. The kind that appears before the most treacherous of storms. Like silk soaked in venom. âYou donât get to call me a whore. Not when you donât know a single thing about why I choose to live my life. I accepted all my broken, messy pieces a long time ago. Have you?â Then I turn on a heel, downing the remainder of my drink, and shove whatever unfortunate soul that had the audacity to be in my way.Â
I donât even make it to the dancefloor when it hits me.
My movements grow sluggish. My vision blurred. I blink, trying to shake whatever had just came over me. But it didnât leave. If anything it disoriented me more. I stumble when someone walks by me, my footing unstable. I didnât understand. I hadnât drank that much and it wasnât very strong. The potency diluted by the ice that melted into the mixture. I shouldn;t be feeling like this. Then thereâs a pair of hands on my arms. No matter how hard I try to shove whoever had grabbed me off, it never seemed to work.
â...calm downâŚâ
â...everythingâs gonna be alrightâŚâ
â...just come with meâŚâ
Words that donât make any sense but stir a dulled sense of panic. My heart rate spikes and my stomach churns. Something was wrong. So very, very wrong. It feels like the room is spinning; like the world is tilting on its axis and thereâs nothing I can do to stop it. Everything blurs together in a mix of color and light. It makes my head throb. My eye squeeze shut in an attempt to shut everything out. To try and find something to ground me. It takes me longer than it should to realize that Iâm not moving on my own. My feet too clumsy and unstable to properly function the way they should be. Thereâs men holding me up by my arms, dragging me up the stairs of the club. They smell like piss and cheap beer.
â...through hereâŚâ
I can barely make out their conversation. Something about the door, but I donât know which one. Everything is blurry and my head hurts. I feel heavy. At least the lighting is dull when they drag me through a door and lay me on something soft. When did my eyes close? My stomach is suddenly cold and I feel something press against my skin. My eyes open just enough to find my phone beside me. Thank god for the missed calls from Cash lighting up the screen or I would have never found it. Wouldnât have realized it fell out of my pocket.
My fingers are too slow and clumsy to spell. But I manage to send something to who I hope is Zayne. I hope it makes sense. I hope he can tell that itâs supposed to say âhelp me.â
Thereâs the sound of something being ripped before fingers dig into the flesh of my thighs. They ripped my fishnets. I donât know why. I donât know where I am. All I know is that Iâm being touched and kissed, and manhandled. I feel sick. I want to cry but my eyes wonât stay open and everything is hazy. Iâm not even sure how long itâs been since they dragged me here. For all I know, they could have dragged me out of the club. How did I get here, in this state? I had to of fucked up and sat my drink on the bar. Wasnât paying attention the way I should have been. Cash was too busy entertaining women who hung on his arms and batted their lashes while they listened to whatever bullshit story he was trying to spin.
Muffled sounds like someone is fighting fill the room. Since I canât open my eyes to look, I just lay there. Listening as whoever it is gets their ass kicked. I hope itâs whoever drugged my drink downstairs. I hope itâs the asshole who got off on touching me while I was too weak and disoriented to protest. Why is everything cold? At least I have enough control to shiver from the chill in the room.Â
âIris?âÂ
A familiar voice.Â
Zayne.
âIris, stay with me. Iâm going to get you to safety.â
Strong arms lift me to a hard chest. The chill tells me itâs Zayne cradling me to his chest like a wounded animal or a scared child. He came for me. He saved me. I didnât think he actually would. So sure he would be too busy doing whatever he was doing these days. But he did. I was safe.
__________________
Fluorescent lights greet me when I open my eyes. Too bright and nearly blinding me in the process. The faint sounds of beeping tell me Iâm in the hospital, and I see Zayne standing at a computer. Heâs typing something but doesnât look at me. His signature black button-up and slacks a key sign that he may not have never went home. Or just hadnât changed clothes.
âYouâre awake.â He doesnât look at me but continues to type whatever it is heâs writing. âThatâs good. How are you feeling?â
I shrug, not entirely sure what Iâm supposed to say. âFine, I guess? Just tired. You a doctor or some shit now?â
He coughs, clearing his throat. Then adjusts the collar of his shirt. âGood. You should rest. And yes. Iâm a cardiac surgeon.â
âWhereâs Cash?â
Zayne gestures out of the room. Green eyes shifting towards the door. Then he stops typing, turning to face me as he leans against the counter. Folding his arms over his chest.
âHeâs in the waiting room. I told him he couldnât come in until you were awake. He kept asking a lot of questions we didnât have the answers to yet.â
I nod, because thatâs all I really can do right now.Â
âHowâd you even find me?â
âMC dragged me to the same club. Said she thought she saw you with some odd-looking guys. I had a feeling something wasnât right and went looking as soon as I saw your text message.â
I scrunch my nose. âDo you have to call Mckenna that?â
âCall her what? MC?
âEw, yeah, that.â
âWell, you donât have to. Itâs just an old habit some of her friends got in. Itâs catchy.â
It isnât catchy. Itâs incredibly unsettling. Like they were all calling her the main character of some story and we were all just sidenotes. Which Iâm sure she absolutely loved. But I donât say any of that. Instead, I make a gagging sound, which earns me one of Zayneâs rare smiles. My heart skips a beat. His smile could make any girlâs heart stop dead in their tracks. Zayne takes the few steps to stand beside the bed and puts his hand on my shoulder. Careful not touch me anywhere else. Just as he always had.
âGet some rest. Iâll clear Cash to come see you.â
Then he leaves, dimming the lights before turning just slightly to give me a tight-lipped smile. And disappears behind the curtain. I hear the door click shut and decide that he was right. Falling into a sleep so deep it was as if I hadnât slept in years.

Intro / Pinned Post

(I figured it was about time I made one of these,,,)
Hi, Iâm Olivia/Liv! Iâm a genderfluid lesbian, 19, and my pronouns are he/she/they.
This blog is mostly a clusterfuck of my various ever fluctuating interests and sometimes I also make fandom content.
A non-extensive list of some fandoms I post/reblog about:
- Starkid / Hatchetfield
- Pulp Musicals
- Tin Can Bros
- Wicked
- Yellowjackets
- Smosh
- Red Dead Redemption (1 & 2)
- And more !!
You can find the fics I write on ao3, or here on my profile tapestryoftrauma.
Iâm also the current owner of @blinkysrewatchparty and a mod for @femslashfortnight !
My inbox is open though Iâm not sure what anyone would wanna send me. But if you want fucking go for it man !
dni: terfs, transphobes, homophobes, zionists, racists, ableists, people interested in debating pro/anti shipping, general bigots, any other dickholes
Some of my fics:
Hatchetfield:
The Discovers SeriesÂ
Campfire Confession (Karen Chasity/Girl Jeri), Lautity (Grace Chasity/Stephanie Lauter), and Holy Bastard (Mark Chasity/Ted Spankoffski)
A series of fics in the same universe exploring the Chasity family (and Co) through a queer lens.
~~~
unattainable temptations (take a bite)
Lautity (Grace Chasity/Stephanie Lauter)
âI want to get out of Hatchetfield,â is what she says, as confident and sure as ever. Itâs humid and hot in the hallwayâand Graceâs leg hairs prick up on goosebumps at the cool swash of air blowing out through Stephâs door, and she wishes her home had AC like Stephâs apartment does. âI need to get out,â she corrects, pulling at both the straps of her backpack, better sitting them on her shoulders. âCome with me?â For a long while Steph stares at her. Not with judgement, not like Grace is madâwhich she probably should, because Grace is sure the both of them are broken and thatâs why this moment doesnât feel as stupidly weird as it should. Steph sucks in her bottom lip, leans against her front door as her eyes blink slow and tired, something Grace canât read in her eyes. âAlright,â is her answer. Short and sweet. âFor how long?â
//
Or Grace and Steph, the only two left alive after Max's ghostly rampage, go on a totally not homoerotic road trip after the events of NPMD
~~~
you'd fall in love with anyone
Caliwood (Alice Woodward/Lex Foster)
âOh.â Alice nods, breathless. â...do you think this is a bad idea?â
âProbably,â Lex agrees, and yet neither of them make a move to untangle themselves. âDo you want to stop?â
For a long moment Alice is silent in thought. She drapes her arm across Lexâs shoulders, which is an answer enough, but she says, âno, I really donât,â anyway. All breathy and too attractive for Lex to handle.
Thereâs a beat. Another moment of silence. âMe neither.â
Alice drags her back with the squeeze of her arm around Lexâs shoulders, crushing them together.
Is this even as big a deal as she thinks it is?
//
Lex and Alice (Caliwood) suffer through the denial and the situationship bullshit that comes with friends with benefits, or a deep character study of Lex Foster
~~~
half dead, half the time
Barnkins (Becky Barnes/Emma Perkins)
âSometimes youâre such a good person it makes me feel sick.â
At that Becky laughs, loud and free and happy. Anyone else would have given up on Emma by now. With her mean biting comments, and her shitty jokes. Itâs why Tom keeps his distance however he can. Becky takes them in stride, whether she actually finds them funny or not.
~~~
shutter
Barnkins (Becky Barnes/Emma Perkins)
âI never would have pegged you as a perfectionist,â Becky says softly, face serene and eyes locked onto Emma as she moves around. Any other person might get impatient, hell knows Emma would be by now, but not Becky. She has the patience of a saint, just smiling up sweetly as she poses for the camera. âYou seem more like a jump in and do it person.â
Emma hums, taking a photo and pulling the camera from her face, raising a brow at Becky.
âIâm not, I just know how to get the right shot. Move a little to the right.â
//
Or Emma is a photographer in her spare time, and Becky happens to be her muse
~~~
my honey bee
Theatermates (Zoey Chambers/Hailey Dilmore)
Thatâs when she gets the idea.
âYou should date me.â
Hailey doesnât take her seriously, at first. She snorts softly and shakes her head, burying her face back into the flowy fabric of Zoeyâs shirt. âYeah, and I should win an Oscar too.â
Zoey frowns, face contorting in a mixture of annoyance and sickness at the sudden sway of Hailey leaning harder into her. âNoâIâm serious. Date me.â
//
or Hailey and Zoey fake date for dumb reasons, and sorta end up dating for real in the process
Other StarCanWrecked(Pulp):
i'll hear the fireworks outside
Cinderella's Castle, Matched Wits (Ella Ashmore/Tadius)
âI just wanted to say,â he begins, glancing around the hall with a nervousness to him. âThat I am here for you. All of us are. This change canât be easy, ruling so much and so far. You have lost more than anyone should take, and yet you stand tall and prideful before us all, a noble woman and a hero to this kingdom. But youâre not alone, and if you ever⌠Whether itâs matters of rule, or of heart, I will be here waiting for your call.â
âThank you, Tadius. Youâre a good friend, and a good man.â
With a small acknowledging nod he steps back. âAs are you Ella. The friend part, not the manââ
âI understood. Good night.â
Tadius bows shallow, smiling at her again. âNight, my queen.â
//
Aka a character study of Ella Ashmore post-canon, an exploration of grief, and how friendship can develop into comfort and romance (with Tadius,,,, to be clear the romance is with Tadius)
~~~
fading drums, sleepless garden
Pulp Musicals, Paper Stars (John Herschel/Rose Stratford)
Rose Stratford, the final branch of the Stratford family tree, clings to her little brother. His skin grows cold, his eyes grow empty, and still she hugs him. Just like when they were young, sharing beds and stories in sleepless nights in a home not quite home. In triumph at their success, in relief of their survival, in awe of the space hanging around them, in reunion after many days passed, and yet only hours at the same time. Only now Samuel cannot hug her back, and still she clings like he might go.
//
Or Rose post Searcher in the Shadows, and how the hell she's gonna attempt to deal with all of that
~~~
Margaret's Choice
Pulp Musicals, Margaret Cavendish
This is more important than just her. More important than her emotions, than what Margaret will lose. Itâs worth the loss, if it means protecting those she lives and dies to serve. âI command you.â
Slowly, Sia Turns. No longer does only grief and anguish blaze in her eyes, but fury too. âWhat?â
//
Or, Margaret is the one to decide she needs her memories wiping, and she gets Sia to help her do it.
~~~
deja vu, where were you?
Spies Are Forever, Gender-Swapped Curtwen (Owen Carvour/Agent Curt Mega)
Owen had never done anything like that again. Noâshe reads the brief a thousand times over. She takes careful notes and plans each of her missions step by step, nothing out of place. Never overstep, never cause a casualty, never take unnecessary risk. Itâs drilled into her head.
People like Owen Carvour arenât allowed to do that. People like Owen weren't allowed to act like Curt Mega.
// aka: The night Curt left Owen for dead -- except it's gender swapped and they are lesbians!
Other Fandoms:
i'll meet judgements by the hounds
Yellowjackets, ShaunaHat (Shauna Shipman/Melissa), JackieShauna (Jackie Taylor/Shauna Shipman)
Melissa is like a dog at her heel, desperate and panting and Shauna wonders if sheâll ever bite back. Shauna wants her too. It would shatter the illusion. Jackie didnât bite, didnât scratch, didnât do anything like that. Jackie wasnât a dog.
Shauna had been the dog. She bit and she tore and she left nothing but a corpse behind. Nothing but bones.
For once it⌠It feels good to be in charge. To have that thrill she has to assume Jackie had; it had to be why Jackie refused to let her control slip. To know the dog can bite, could try and tear you to pieces.
Will Melissa bite?
~~~
you cap-ture my heart
Yellowjackets, ShaunaHat (Shauna Shipman/Melissa), Genlissa (Gen/Melissa)
Itâs not⌠Itâs not stalking if you donât mean it in a creepy way. Right? Like, sure, there are stalkers out there. But Melissa isnât one of them! Sheâs normal. Or, well, maybe not ânormalâ normal, but she likes to think she isnât a creep. Itâs⌠Itâs fine.
Or Melissa has always been a bit of a stalker.
~~~
the word's on the street
The Sex Lives Of College Girls, TayBela (Bela Malhotra/Taylor)
âWe both need a girlfriend, and weâre both single,â Bela points out, gesturing between them. âSo if we pretendââ âThis feels like the plot of a seriously bad rom-com.â âBecause it is.â And that idea is a little exciting, Bela has to say. âCome on! What do you think?"
Or: Bela and Taylor come to the conclusion that fake-dating will solve all their problems.
There's definitely no way this can go wrong.
~~~
with everybody watching us (we do have reputations)
Wicked, Gelphie (Elphaba Thropp/Glinda Upland)
Then, Elphaba pulls a single poppy free from her bouquet. A tiny thing, so small and so lonely, now clasped in Elphabaâs left forefinger and thumb. Smile shy, glasses tipping down her nose as she holds it forward.
âFor you, Miss Galinda,â she says gently, the words pulling her smile wider to show the shine of her teeth beneath.
And Galinda cannot help the way her heart stutters in her chest at the delicate gesture. Her hands shake as reaches out, plucks the flower free of Elphabaâs grasp and spins it slowly between her own fingers. The white petals swirl, stem wet and so soft against her skin, and she brings the flower to her nose.
âThank youâŚâ
//
Or Four Times Glinda Is Gifted A Flower
And The Second Time She Gifts A Flower To Elphaba
~~~
but it's warm and it's heavy (and we're trying to float)
Wicked, Gelphie (Elphaba Thropp/Glinda Upland)
Glinda had long despised the idea of tattoos.
Why ruin perfect skin with marks of ink, of magic, of whatever it was you wanted to use to decorate what should be perfection? Especially her own skin, porcelain and smooth and⌠Well, there was simply no other suitable word than perfect really. Everything Glinda strived for, the plan her life was set to follow. One of few obstacles, of elegance and grace.
After she got her first scar, the reason felt far more stupid.
//
Or: the train to emerald city deleted scene had ariana's tattoo visible and i had some thoughts about glinda with tattoos
~~~
once more to see you
Smosh Vs Zombies, Dread Girls (Gracie Gorbo/Savannah)
Savannah is very good at keeping secrets. She holds many, for many people. Though she holds the most in for Gracie. Her best friend, her everything, her⌠Her.
Savannah knows more about Gracie than anyone else on Earth, and a selfish part of her gorges on those snippets and secrets.
//
Or Dread Girls are stuck in a silly situationship thatâs doesnât get resolved (wish them luck in space) and also mostly a Savannah character study
Without you
Tomura Shigaraki X reader
{you are the younger sister of a pro hero (I made up) who is ranked up high within the hero society with a quirk related to telekinesis. Told to try and follow the footsteps of her older brother with a quirk that isnât quite as strong as his leads to some issues within her life but soon with some inconveniences and unfortunate events to occur she soon comes across a villain who took notice on who she was lead to their paths to be crossed more and more despite her efforts of preventing that to happen.}
âââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Chapter 2
Arriving to Hosu, you got off the train and began your way to the building of your apartment. Pushing past the crowd, you swung over again the strap of your backpack as it kept falling with the amount of weight of papers and folders. Gripping it tightly as you heard a few voices talking as you passed by them.
âHey isnât that the younger sister of that hot Pro:MindForce?â
âHey it is. But whereâs the Pro? Could he be patrolling here?â
âNot sure. But can you believe she quit his agency? Who would do that?â
âShe couldnât handle the hate of not being able to keep up with him. Honestly itâs embarrassing. How did she even pass in school, did she go to UA like he did?â
âNo she went to uhâthe 3rd popular school I forgot which.â
âOh yeah! That one! I wonder what her parents said when she couldnât apply to UA.â
âHow embarrassing.â
You turned your head in their direction and sent them a glare. They giggled and hurried away, she saw they were girls a few years younger than her.
âIâd blow up their fucking brains if I could .â
Making it to your apartment building and walking into now the main lobby. You were greeted to the usual fellow at the desk. âMiss Y/n, I received a package for you. But it doesnât exactly say whoâs itâs from.â
You tilted your head a bit confused and shrugged. âOh uh, Iâll come back and get it later. My hands are kinda full.â He nodded and placed the package away as you took the elevator to the floor of your apartment.
The phone rang at the front desk and the guy answered it. âDid she take it?â
âShe hasnât yet.â The guy said. The person on the other phone groaned and spat back before hanging up. âWell make sure she takes it!â
Papers were scattered on your small dinner table of your apartment, divided into dates from crimes in the past youâve wanted to work on but couldnât. And other few files you had hidden from your old office you had when working in the Force Agency(itâs made up). Cases that very much interested you and had mysteries.
Both hands on the edge of the table as you leaned over looking down at the papers. You hadnât been able to get the recent information of the U.S.J attack but you plan too soon.
You had flies also of yourself and your missions youâve been on in the past. But those were in a box hidden in your room. Most of the files in front of you were files that interested you the most, some from years ago.
âLeague Of Villains they call themselves Iâve heardâŚhow strange and plain of a villain name.â
You jumped upon hearing hard knocks at your apartment door and hurried footsteps fading away. You got goosebumps and tense at hearing the sudden noise, slowly walking to the door and peeking through the peephole. No one was there but you saw a familiar package sitting at the mat.
Gripping the doorknob, you quickly opened the door and slid the box inside and slowly shutting the door. You looked at the package at your feet, it had scribbles and then at the bottom corner: Miss Y/n
In script, looking at it puzzled at to why it was crossed out. Crouching down and running her fingertips on the package feeling how rough it was. Without thought she opened it with the pour amount of tape on it. Puzzled as she found to what seem a metal bracelet and a letter, lifting an eyebrow she hesitantly took the letter first. It was just an original envelope, carefully opening it.
She began reading the letter, as she read it told:
âDear Y/n L/n,
Itâll be a pleasure to have a talk with you, about a few topics that I believe will interest you. But Iâll explain further once we meet, and Iâll appropriately introduce myself. And I donât want to worry you, I mean no harm at all. Iâm fully aware if I did try anything in which I wonât, you stop me. Well youâll stop me once you put that bangle on, just something a friend of mine created especially for you with that type of quirk. A friend of mine will arrive at your door at exactly 5 pm tomorrow. We people want to help you to a better future for you. And if you donât comply, my friend will come anyways. He is very friendly.â
You blinked blankly at reading the letter, then again to make sure it was true what you read. Then looked back into the box at the so-called bangle.
âMy type of..quirk..? The fuck does that mean. Do they..know?âimpossible. Like hell Iâll put it on.â
You threw the letter and bangle back into the box and stood up, kicking the box. âNo what am I supposed to do. Apparently someone is gonna come to my door tomorrow..â you muttered and looked down at your palm, thinking of your quirk. And the incident.
About 10 month into the past of the present
It was late into the evening. You were out with your brother on patrol when he was called that a near by building was being attacked and there was people being held hostage. Haruki turned to you and put a determined smile on them spoke, âready to be a hero?â
With a light in her eyes she smiled and nodded as she began to follow up with her brotherâs pace. As he ran he quickly made another call alerting the agency to send back up if the situation worsened. As you ran behind your brother, excited and nervous of the situation ahead. You had a goal, to save as many lives as possible.
Seeing as the smoke clouded the sky from the distant, you and brother stopped and saw countless people, police officers, firefighters, and medics. Haruki jogged up to a police officer to get a summary on what is happening. Apparently a villain barged into the building attempting to rob for money, from what bystanders said some are injured or wounded inside then on accident perhaps involved with the villains quirk, a fire started. Most of the hostages escaped including the villain but there was still people inside.
None of the any top pros have arrived, Haruki looked at you. Then started to run around the building to get in by a different entrance as the main was blocked. You gulped, sweat running down your forehead. You sensed something off with the building, it was unstable.
âH-hey Haru, be careful. The building isâ"
âYeah! I know! Hurry we have to get in and save the people inside.â Haruki interrupted as he summoned a force field as a shield and broke down a door to get inside. Smoke was already seeping down to this floor, Haruki ran inside with you behind him. Then spoke.
âThe officer said there was people on the 4th floor. We have to go quick. Got that?â
You nodded and followed Haruki up the unstable stairs to where the smoke thickened. Haruki created a shield to push out rubble and fallen ceiling tiles out of the way. Cracks were able to be heard from above and a part of the building fell and was heading straight for Haruki.
Your eyes widened as you yelled out your brotherâs name and activated your quirk immediately stopping the titles from falling on Haruki, a glowing aura surrounded the titles as it floated in air, your veins pulsating and glowing as you felt the weight of the titles. Pushing the titles to the side carefully. Your veins stayed glowing, Haruki smiled at you then turned to keep going.
You ran up the stairs and finally reached to the floor. âIs there anyone here!? Weâre heroes!â Haruki yelled. You flinched and placed a hand on his shoulder then spoke, âdonât shout. Youâll cause the building to collapse more.â
âWe need to find those people first. Then take care of the rest. You can do that right?â Your eyes widened he said that and nodded hesitantly.
âY-yeah. Yeah sure.â You grumbled and followed behind Haruki soon to find 6 people. 4 adults, 1 teen and one child. Barely even conscious all of them. Haruki ran to them and created a shield around them as protection. Walking to them carefully to assure them theyâre safe. But you stood where you were, as you felt that sense again. That something was off, your head turned and looked up seeing cracks. The voice of your brother zoned out for you, an aura forming around your hands and your eyes glowing.
The faint voice of your brother calling your name was low, you turned to see cracks and crumbling. Your eyes widened here the people scream in fear so then you activated your quirk, its power flowing down to the ground and up the walls to hold it in place. Usually youâd just use your mind to activate your quirk but with an object this heavy and big, including the building. You had to use your hands to activate it more.
Haruki found a near broken window and instructed the people to carefully and calming following him while you held the room in tact, but your quirk began to roam within the walls and throughout the whole building trying to keep it in place. Side affects of using your quirk too much would cause headaches and nosebleeds, those were minor but going over your limit will lead to the quirk to get out of control. You quick like lifted the collar of your hero suit to cover your mouth as you held the building in tact.
âY/n!â Haruki called from the window.
âOn myâ" you paused hearing a low cry. Turning your head you saw a closer door far down the room. And saw little feet. There was still someone in there, looking back at your brother who was urging you to come along. Your hands were shaking and your veins glowing.
Carefully moving your feet towards the closet, but itâll take forever at this pace.
âBe stronger, be the hero you wanted to be.â
You thought to yourself and lowered your hands and made a run for it to the closet. Your quirk lessening on the building you reached the closet and found an injured girl. Scooping her up, you collapsed to your knees clutching the girl.
âFuckâŚMy limit.â
Haruki ran quickly over to me, and took the girl from you and grabbed your arm. âHurry, youâre at your limitâ"
You didnât even process what he said when you saw the ceiling falling down and towards him. Your quirk activating more as the ceiling piece held in place. The whole building was moving. It was about to collapse. Haruki pulling you, causing too much movement on the ground making it crumble more. Your eyes widened and your quirk activated more, as if on its own. The ground had your quirk flowing through it as it held in place.
Haruki shook you violently. âStop using your quirk! Itâs over your limit!â Shaking your head, more blood dripping down your nose. âThe building will crumble and collapse on us..â you managed to mutter. Wincing and you fell to your knees as you felt your quirk getting out of hand, head aching as hell. You felt sick.
Last thing you heard and felt was Haruki shaking you and calling you name.
Present
âI ended up in the hospital after that incident, and was told that I activated my quirk too much and it led to spread throughout other building around to crumble and crackâŚâ
With activating your quirk over your limit. It let for something inside of you to crack and break. Now causing your quirk to be unstable and weak after that incident. Sure youâve used your quirk at times almost to its limit but this time was surprisingly different. Shaking your head at remembering that day. You looked back at the bangle again.l and thought.
âNo way that can help me..no way.â
OMELETTE RECORDS PT.2
Question:Â How would the new batch [new designs of the omelettes] react to the old batch and vice versa?
Answer: Jerard would be so distraught like âthis is who I am? No thatâs literally not meâ even though itâs literally the same person.
Andrew is just so aghast at old himâs hair and lifestyle like definitely heâs the better one.
Jules would get along pretty well and they wouldnât have any qualms but theyâd also have slight differences where if they found out either of them likes this or that ,it would end up in a blown-out argument and theyâd struggle to reconcile.
Tomathy's probably poking his own old face even though theyâre practically the same but heâd be jealous of old himâs siblings.
Eustace's probably hugging each other and like grasping each otherâs shirts as they meet the other Monty which would turn out to be a really sweet moment.
Luigi would literally have a staring contest and after an hour would go âoh red hair huhâ.
COMMENTARY:
Andrew had the DEFINITION of a glow up like, both physically, arguably intelligently and job wise
Jules: yeah I torture people and I might be a serial killer Jules 2.0:âŚ. I work at a pharmacy and volunteer at animal shelters Jules: omg I love animal shelters cats are so cute Jules 2.0: omg
I see your Tomathy response and raise you the idea that they both assumed the other was Timothy and they glared at each other âď¸
Question: What are the omelettes' reactions to playing Roblox horror games?
Answer: Jerard would be like âwhat is this lolâ before playing and then just screaming his head off if someone shines a torch on his avatar and he thinks itâs the monster.
Jules is âyou go first no youâ she would NOT be going first at all đ but it would be hilarious at the same time.
Andrew's trying to explore everywhere to distract himself from the pain lurking around until his head gets snapped cause he didnât hear the monster approaching him đđđ
Eustace would definitely be vibing with Tomathy but split apart when they go through a chase with the monster and he ends up getting killed the most.
Tomathy's actually a pro at it despite not having played it he would actually like accidentally discover all the caves and secret entrances.
Luigi has his game glitched so the monster canât actually kill him so heâs just doing the tasks as heâs face to face with the monsterđđ
COMMENTARY:
Jules would spend 80% of the game just saying sheâs not going first and arguing about going first, and when everyone else dies sheâll just camp in the corner and cry about not wanting to go onđ
Andrew just talking the entire time like heâs running a commentary channel because thatâs the only way he can play the game đđ
Eustace seems like the type of guy to accidentally throw his mouse across the room when he gets jumpscared..
Tomathy: guys it wasnât even scary lmao Also Tomathy: **accidentally speedruns the game and doesnât even see the monster because itâs chasing everyone else**
Question: Omelettes zombie apocalypse gear. What are they wearing and what gear are they carrying on their persons?
Answer: Jerard probably has a belt that holds everything he needs like water strapped to his belt, a dagger while he looks all disheveled and his hair is all tangled.
Jules has a backpack that has everything she needs except a weapon so sheâs really vigilant and cautious when sheâs passing through the hordes.
Tomathy's wearing his sweater thatâs all ripped apart now and his pants are dangling on by a single thread as he fashions a knife taped to a gun for extra efficiency as well as less storage.
Eustace has some fanny pack that has only a biscuit or two and some extra glass shards that he picked up on the way.
Luigi's carrying a bow and some arrows as he has a bandana wrapped around his head so only the first half of his face is revealed.
COMMENTARY:
I can imagine Jerard rushing in all disheveled trying and on his way to block the door but he just always looks that disheveled so his roommates donât even bat an eye.
Eustace keeping glass shards in his fancy back that also has some snacks in it is some cruel form of Russian roulette but I respect the hustle
Luigi is on his way to shoot zombies AND survivors, no one is safe. He is the real threat.
Question: What are the omelettes like as baby sitters, should they be trusted?
Answer: Jerard keeps the kid alive by feeding them and keeping the indoors by playing tv, probably annoyed that he has to spend time but like will read them to sleep as he tucks them in and does his own thing.
Jules will accidentally set the kitchen on fire with a little small flame but is good at calming the kid down if they have a tantrum or like verbalising their feelings.
Luigi will literally keep the kid alive just barely cause heâll try to feed them like extreme food combinations like avocado with scrambled egg without realising the kidâs allergic to egg.
Eustace plays really well with the kid and like going with the flow with the kidâs figureâs storyline and all that.
Tomathy would honestly be the best out of all of them like heâd make sure the kid doesnât get driven over when they visit the park and pushing them on the swing and making the kidâs favourite food.
COMMENTARY:
Luigi will ALWAYS somehow feed people things theyâre allergic to. Itâs not even malicious, heâll randomly just offer them the one thing that could kill them.
Question: What are the omelettesâ favourite movies?
Answer: Jerard - Interstellar
Jules - The Devil Wears Prada
Eustace - Everything Everywhere All At Once
Tomathy - Legally Blonde (guilty pleasure)
Luigi - The Seashell and the Clergyman
Andrew - The Usual Suspects
FAVOURITES TO LEAST: CITRUSY
Andrew
Jules
Eustace
Luigi
Tomathy
Boris
Brews
Dave
JJB
Timothy
Ms Harmon
Monty
Rue (sorry girl youâre the new kid and I know nothing about you đ)
COMMENTARY:
TOMATHYâS ABOVE BORIS I WOULDâVE NEVER GUESSED BRO THAT TOMATHY/ BORIS RANKING CHOICE HAD ME BITING MY NAILS đđđ
Question: What are some cute yolk interactions you can think of (e.g. Timothy and Dave gushing about sharks, Brewster fishing with Boris, Tomathy drawing on a sleeping Jules face ect)đ
Answer: The yolks would go to barbenheimer all dressed differently so Jerard's in all pink, Jules is absolutely in a suit with the same hat and sheâs tipping it off like Oppenheimer, Tomathy in both pink and with pink bracelets with a coat, Eustace in pink but also dressed in dark colours.
Boris taking a selfie with That Smile⢠while Brewster is struggling to raise a fish and itâs just so chaotic.
Jules holding a duck and chasing Tomathy around cause heâs scared of birds.
Jules dressed as a minion but didnât realise no one else got the memo so sheâs all dressed up as the only one and everyoneâs laughing đĽ˛đĽ˛
Luigi climbing up a tree with only a knife and then the aftermath being a photo taken at the exact time he falls.
Eustace trying to be all serious when posing beside a bunch of leaves and bush as Tomathy just starts cracking up.
COMMENTARY:
I love them all so dearly they have a special place in my heart, theyâre all such dumb idiotsâ¤ď¸
PROMPT: Omelettes if they were in the Blair witch project?
Answer: Jerard's freaking out and just being scared after the whole rocks scene where they cross the border.
Jules is just losing her mind eventually and tossing the map in the river without thinking and sheâs just hysterically crying every night.
Tomathy's rocking himself to sleep and filming every moment of the day as much as he can and he just yells at everyone.
Eustace is probably so scared that he barely follows Tomathy in the murder house that he finds Tomathy staring in the corner and screams so loud.
Luigi's the witch.
COMMENTARY:
I should NOT be laughing at Jules but her âtossing the map in the river without thinkingâ and her just sobbing every night is making me cackle đđđ
Tomathy âanger issuesâ Stoker𫶠blaming everyone but himself
STOP I DONT KNOW WHY BUT EUSTACE JUST WALKING INTO THE MURDER HOUSE AND SCREAMING UPON SEEING TOMATHY IN THE CORNER IS SO FUNNY???đđ
Luigi: so youâre probably wondering why Iâve gathered you all here today **camera pans to everyone dead**
Question: How do you think a yolks' ghost-hunting au would work?
Answer: Jerard's absolutely scared of every noise even if he pretends to be nonchalant and cool (he's not by the way).
Luigi scares the ghosts back but also just holding the flashlight in his mouth the entire time and turning around.
Tomathy has the whole vlog camera and ghost recorders out so you just see a tiny child-man dressed in the heaviest equipment and fanny packs.
Eustace is probably in his tropical shirt and just accidentally bears witness to several ghost incidences/occurrences like the strongest evidence but never catching it on camera.
Question: How do you think each of the yolks would play the sims?
Answer: Jerard plays the sensible "proper" way.
Luigi basically kills his sims in the weirdest ways possible. (He would love pufferfish, rabid rodent fever and mold infestation)
Tomathy has the most cursed family line like either constantly affairs, cheating, babies out of wedlock etc, fighting, paternity tests etc
Eustace would join in with Tomathy.
Question: How would each yolk react to being stuck in a time loop?
Answer: Jerard's losing his mind.
Tomathy's grooving with it and having the time of his life.
Eustace's very stressed and bouncing everywhere.
Luigi's already stuck in one. It's a life without [REDACTED].
Question: Do you have any of those funny/weird group photos that you'd feel would be the yolks?
Answer: There's one where they're all wearing matching hats at a theme park [and one that takes a photo while riding a rollercoaster and it's just Tomathy with his hands up, Jerard screaming and clutching onto Jules, Luigi with a stoic face and Eustace off to the side like he's about to puke].
Another would be just Tomathy looking like he had a baking disaster with his hair all black and his face sooty. [There's another photo where Eustace managed to convince Tomathy to dye his hair unnaturally and the photo is just of Tomathy after the results and his hair is raccoon hair].
Another is when they took a photo of Jerard sleeping with marker drawn on his face [and Luigi takes a photo where Eustace is posing next to Jerard's body with a marker in his hand].
Question: What would each yolk do if they discovered they could stop whenever they wish?
Answer: Tomathy would lick every child's ice-cream in his vicinity.
Eustace would sleep more [but also I think explore the bakeries and cafes near him].
Luigi would make cups full of water or coffee float in mid-air before they spill on Jerard.
Jerard would either use this time to finish his work or have a day off every now and then.
Question: Who does each yolk main in Mario Kart?
Answer: Jerard is Princess Daisy (vibes?)
Tomathy is Princess Peach, Baby Bowser, Wario or Yoshi [Peach to annoy Jerard but his most main would be Baby Bowser]
Luigi is King Boo.
Eustace is Toadette for some reason...
Jules is Baby Bowser.
Boris is maybe Diddy Kong.
Brewster is Wario.
Dave is Luigi.
Question: How does each yolk react to being stuck in a death time loop eg. Happy Death Day?
Answer: Tomathy would actually try to stop the cycle or find out the cause (he'd win).
Eustace would try stopping it but he'd end up getting killed way too many times that he just feels hopeless at the end.
Jerard is going through the stages of grief.
Luigi would try to stab the killer back.
Question: How do the yolks in Minecraft play? What do they do?
Answer: Luigi would try to fit in with the villagers and would even have a villager skin.
Tomathy is just a miner.
Jules hunts for food and resources.
Eustace is probably a farmer but also explorer like he'd probably own a farm where he breeds cows and horses.
Jerard's playing with his roommates and wouldn't even play it if it was just him.
Andrew's trying to charm his way to get resources and food for free.
Boris is a rider.
COMMENTARY:
The good olâ reliable way-back-machine **pets junk pile of metal** (AKA my camera roll đđ)
ALL PRAISE THE WAYBACK MACHINE (oopsiedaisiesroundabout's camera rollđ)
prelude
today is especially hard. they say that trauma is stored in the body, the spa showed me that to be true.
as i lay, disrobed and sweating on the hot sandbag floor of the meditation room i stretch my hip flexors. as i deepen my stretch i feel my stomach drop. breasts out, mostly unclothed on a warm bed i am suddenly thrust back into j's home.
i feel his tongue along my spine for the second time in one sitting as he licks himself off of me, while i think to myself "what have i just done?" and whisk that fear away into my indulgence and bliss. i think j is so tender and kind that there has to be a catch. there is, i just do not know it for many weeks at this time.
that little inkling i had was my fear for those many weeks after. many meaning 2, because exactly on my ovulation day, i had allowed a man to fuck me raw twice in one go. i had allowed it with barely a sliver of doubt that i hastily brushed away because i was having too much fun.
i think now, honestly, thank god he wasn't the one to accidentally inseminate me. a deceptive man could never be the genetic material for the pure thing that my body will create. i could not allow a deceptive man to change my genetic makeup, to manipulate my body. i know this now that it was narrowly avoided.
my cycle was 37 days. my always 27 day cycle was 37 days. i was over a week late. i tested more than once in fear of my dream and my nightmare coming true simultaneously.
negative. negative and 2 hours later i cramp and bleed with ferocity, my body adding insult to injury when the emptiness begins.
3 days later he takes me out. i leave the ocean early to see him, i love the ocean. i dont love him but think i could. he doesnt touch me, he looks away, he talks about himself. hands on his backpack straps, my emptiness gets emptier.
he stops. he tells me, this entire time he has been fucking someone else raw too and hasn't told me. i have asked him and he has withheld this information. i am paralyzed. evil creeps into my body, i realize nothing was consensual.
we'd never have fucked at all if i knew j was putting his dick in anyone else, im too guarded for that. i want to be courted, not hastily fucked while in his head he weighs the pros and cons of both the bodies he has turned into options.
i will never be an option. "...im sorry that i hurt you" are you? i beg to differ.
he says he understands. he will never understand what i went through in 3 excruciating weeks.
one day, baby kitty. but not today.
Rainproof, Rugged, Ready: The Best Outdoor Equipment to Own
When nature calls, only the best outdoor equipment can answer. Whether you're scaling rocky terrains, hiking through rain-drenched forests, or setting up camp under starry skies, your gear can make or break the experience. Seasoned adventurers know that investing in the best outdoor equipment isn't just about comfortâit's about safety, performance, and reliability when it matters most.
In this blog, weâll walk you through the essential gear you need, the features to look for, and how to choose equipment thatâs truly rainproof, rugged, and always ready.
Why the Right Outdoor Gear Matters
The outdoors is unpredictable. One moment itâs clear skies, and the next, youâre battling strong winds or sudden rain. The best outdoor equipment is designed to withstand such changes. It protects you from the elements, helps you navigate terrain, and supports your physical efforts throughout your journey.
Hereâs what sets the best outdoor equipment apart:
Weatherproofing: Gear that performs in rain, snow, or heat.
Durability: Materials that resist wear and tear.
Functionality: Multi-use tools that save space and weight.
Comfort: Ergonomic designs that reduce fatigue.
Must-Have Rainproof and Rugged Outdoor Gear
Letâs break down the categories of best outdoor equipment every adventurer should consider:
1. Waterproof Tents with Reinforced Seams
Your tent is your home in the wild. The best outdoor equipment includes tents made from high-denier ripstop nylon or polyester with full-coverage rainfly protection. Look for models with sealed seams and tub-style floors to prevent water ingress.
Pro Tip: Choose a tent with good ventilation to prevent condensation build-up inside during rainy nights.
2. All-Weather Backpacks
A rugged backpack is more than a storage unitâitâs your lifeline. The best outdoor equipment backpacks come with water-resistant coatings, weather-sealed zippers, padded straps, and internal frames for weight distribution. Some even include built-in rain covers.
3. Layered and Breathable Rain Jackets
No adventure kit is complete without a high-quality rain jacket. Look for breathable materials like Gore-Tex or eVent that keep water out while allowing sweat to escape. The best outdoor equipment ensures you stay dry without overheating.
4. Tough Hiking Boots with Waterproof Membranes
Footwear is critical. The best outdoor equipment includes boots that combine waterproof linings, durable outsoles, and ankle support. Vibram soles and leather uppers are ideal for rugged terrain, wet surfaces, and long treks.
5. Multi-Tool or Survival Knife
Compact, lightweight, and versatile, a good multi-tool or fixed-blade knife is a must. It can help with food prep, gear repairs, and emergencies. Itâs one of those best outdoor equipment items you never leave behind.
6. Portable Water Filters
Clean water is non-negotiable. From LifeStraw to Sawyer filters, the best outdoor equipment includes tools that allow you to safely drink from streams and lakes. Go for options that are compact, fast, and field-tested.
7. All-Terrain Sleeping Bags
Even in wet conditions, a quality sleeping bag keeps you warm. The best outdoor equipment includes sleeping bags with water-resistant shells, insulated fill (synthetic or down), and compression sacks for easy packing.
8. Weatherproof Lighting Equipment
Headlamps, lanterns, and flashlights with water resistance and long battery life are essential. The best outdoor equipment provides visibility when the sun sets early or storms roll in. Look for IPX-rated lighting with adjustable brightness.
9. GPS Devices and Offline Navigation Tools
Modern tech like handheld GPS units or smartwatches with offline mapping features are lifesavers. The best outdoor equipment ensures you never lose your way, even in remote zones with zero cell signal.
10. Compact Cooking Gear with Wind Protection
Cooking outdoors is easier with gear thatâs windproof and stable. The best outdoor equipment for cooking includes compact stoves with fuel efficiency, non-stick cookware, and foldable utensils. Bonus if it packs into one small kit!
What to Look for Before Buying
When buying the best outdoor equipment, donât fall for fancy branding. Instead, consider these factors:
User Reviews: Real-world performance beats specs.
Weight-to-Performance Ratio: Lightweight gear that doesnât compromise.
Warranty & Brand Reliability: Quality gear often comes with guarantees.
Compatibility: Ensure your gear works well togetherâfor example, your stove fits your cookware.
Budget vs Premium Gear: Whatâs Worth the Splurge?
Not everything has to break the bank, but for some items, itâs worth spending more. For example, a reliable tent, rain gear, and shoes fall under the âinvest now, thank yourself laterâ category. The best outdoor equipment isnât always the most expensiveâitâs the most reliable under pressure.
Maintenance Tips for Longevity
Owning the best outdoor equipment also means taking care of it:
Clean your gear after every use.
Store in cool, dry places.
Reseal seams or re-waterproof jackets annually.
Keep your knives and tools sharp and rust-free.
Regular maintenance not only extends the lifespan of your gear but keeps it ready for last-minute adventures.
Final Thoughts
When nature is your playground, preparation is your power. The best outdoor equipment isn't just about brand names or hypeâitâs about choosing gear that keeps up with your spirit of adventure. Whether you're a weekend warrior or a seasoned trekker, investing in the right tools will always pay off.
Rainproof, rugged, and readyâthat's how your gear should be. Now the only question left is: where are you headed next?
What Should You Look for in a Tennis Racquet Bag? Key Features to Consider
You have the perfect tennis gear and tennis racquets, and now you need something to carry those racquets and equipment to the court with you. We mean, you are not gonna hold everything in your hands, obviously. Thatâs where the perfect tennis bag comes in. And trust us, choosing the best tennis racquet bag for beginners is not just about looking goodâitâs about protecting your gear and making sure you have everything you need on the court.Â
But with so many options, so many different types available on the market, how do you know which one is right for you? If you are wondering the same thing, youâve come to the right place. Letâs discuss the essential features you should look for before investing in the perfect tennis bag for your needs.
Best Features of a Tennis Racquet Bag
From backpack tennis bags to tennis duffle bags, the choices and styles are endless. Consider these features before you spend your money:
How Many Racquets Do You Carry?
Are you a beginner who is just starting out with a few racquets in hand or a pro player with more than 10 different racquets? Tennis bags come in different sizes, typically holding anywhere from 1 to 15 racquets. Hereâs a quick guide:
1-2 Racquet Bags:Â This kind of bag is best for beginners or casual players who do not need much gear on the court. You can get a tote bag for this purpose as they are quite multipurpose. You can use it as an everyday bag and a tennis bag as well.
3-6 Racquet Bags:Â A great choice for club players who carry backup racquets, extra grips, and balls. These bags have one main compartment and an additional small pocket outside of it to keep your phone and wallet. They come with carrying handles as well as a single shoulder strap, so you can sling it over your shoulder as well.
9-12+ Racquet Bags:Â Now, if you want to carry other items such as your shoes or a change of clothes, this is it for you. Most of them often include thermal protection to maintain the string tension of your racquets.
Protection: Keeping Your Racquet in Top Shape
Tennis racquets are an investment and the correct bag helps to protect them from damage. Hereâs what to look for:
Thermal Protection:Â As mentioned above, some high-end and designer tennis bags come with thermal lining to shield your investment from extreme heat and humidity. You might wonder what the need is for this? Itâs because this prevents string tension and helps maintain the performance of your racquets.
Padded Compartments:Â A well-padded interior in your tennis bag ensures that your racquets donât knock against each other. This is necessary to prevent scratches and unnecessary damage to your gear.
Water-Resistant Material:Â Unexpected rain, spills, or even your sweaty clothes can ruin your gear. But if your bag is made from waterproof or water-resistant fabrics, you can avoid this.
Comfort: Can You Carry it Without Straining Your Shoulders?
There is no point in buying anything if it brings you no comfort. Your tennis racquet bag should be easy to carry, especially if you are walking to the court. Letâs see what makes your bag comfortable:
Padded and Adjustable Straps:Â Helps in reducing the strain on your shoulders, and prevents discomfort during long walks and commutes. (Very common but underappreciated feature.)
Ventilated or Mesh Back Panel:Â If you prefer to carry a tennis backpack, a breathable panel helps reduce sweat buildup during summer.Â
If you are someone who commutes to the court by walking or biking, you should go for a backpack or a tennis duffle bag to carry your gear.
Storage: What Else Do You Carry?
The best tennis backpack for players holds more than just a racquet. It should have space for all your other game essentials, such as:
Tennis Balls:Â Dedicated compartments for these inside the bag can help keep them organized (this way you wonât have to dig through the mess just to find one tennis ball that got lost among everything else in your bag.)
Shoes:Â Some high-quality bags also feature a ventilated shoe compartment to prevent bad odors.
Water Bottles & Spare Clothes:Â Â Look for side pockets that can hold your water bottle securely. Plus, having some space for extra clean clothes is always nice.
Phone, Wallet, & Keys:Â Small zippered pocket hidden inside the bag to keep your valuables secure.
A designer tennis bag with multiple compartments is ideal if you carry a lot of extras. However, if you prefer a compact option, a tennis backpack works pretty well.
Durability
We mean, sure, you can get something cheap from the market, itâs just a tennis bagâbut trust us, it wonât even last a few months because of its poor quality. Invest in high-quality bags with reinforced stitching, heavy-duty zippers, durable fabrics, and more. Polyester and nylon are excellent choices as they resist harsh wear and tear. Make sure your bag can handle heavy loads and repeated use without tearing.
Style & Versatility
Lastly, your tennis bag is not just limited to the court. It can also work as a functional everyday bag. Many players use them for gym, travel, college, or just everyday in general. Look for something that suits both your tennis life and daily routine. There are tons of different styles and color options available in the market.
Choosing the Perfect Tennis Bag
Letâs be real, you do not want to juggle your racquets, shoes, water bottle, and gear in your arms like some kind of circus act. You need a tennis racquet bag that not only carries it but keeps it organized and protected as well. And the best? The right tennis bag is not just limited to tennis, it can be your everyday go-to for gym, work, or even travel.
So, before picking a tennis sling bag or a duffle bag, think about what fits your routine. We hope this article helped answer your question about how to choose a tennis bag. Once you figure that out, it becomes easy to find what you need in the sea of options.
Affordable: Generally less expensive than a laptop case portfolio.
Stylish & Trendy: Available in various colors and designs.
Cons of Laptop Sleeves:
People who prioritize style over heavy-duty protection.
Why a Good Tennis Bag Is Essential for Your Game
When it comes to playing tennis, having the right gear is crucial for both performance and convenience. Among the essential equipment, good tennis bags are often overlooked. Whether you're a recreational player or a seasoned pro, the right tennis bag can make a significant difference in how you organize, protect, and carry your gear. In this blog, weâll explore why a good tennis bag is essential for your game and how to choose the best one for your needs.
1. Organizing Your Equipment
A tennis bag isnât just about carrying your rackets; itâs designed to help you keep your gear organized. Tennis bags come with multiple compartments, allowing you to store rackets, shoes, clothes, balls, water bottles, and personal items separately. This organization ensures that you can easily access everything you need during practice or match day. No more scrambling for your tennis balls or searching for a place to store your extra water bottleâeverything has its place.
2. Protecting Your Gear
Your rackets are the most important pieces of equipment for your game, and they need protection. A good tennis bag provides ample padding to keep your rackets safe from damage during transportation. Many tennis bags come with thermal compartments designed to shield your rackets from extreme temperatures, which can affect the tension of the strings. Proper storage and protection of your rackets ensure they remain in top condition and perform optimally on the court.
3. Carrying Comfortably
Carrying tennis equipment can become a hassle, especially if you're walking to the court with a heavy bag. A well-designed tennis bag is equipped with padded straps, ergonomic handles, and adjustable features to ensure that you can carry your gear comfortably. Whether you prefer a backpack-style bag, a duffle bag, or a traditional racquet bag, a comfortable fit reduces strain on your back and shoulders, allowing you to move easily between the court and your car or locker room.
4. Convenience and Quick Access
Tennis bags are designed to give you quick access to your essentials. Some bags feature easy-to-access side pockets for water bottles, towels, or personal items like keys and phones. You wonât have to waste time digging through your bag to find what you need. Additionally, many bags have specialized compartments for storing wet clothes or shoes, which is especially helpful if you're playing on outdoor courts.
5. Stylish and Professional Appearance
While functionality is key, the right tennis bag can also add to your overall appearance and sense of professionalism. A sleek, high-quality tennis bag from top brands like Wilson, Babolat, or Nike not only serves its purpose but also gives you a polished look. Whether you're walking into a match or showing up for practice, a well-chosen tennis bag enhances your image as a dedicated player.
6. Durability for Long-Term Use
A good tennis bag is an investment that should last for many seasons. High-quality bags are made with durable materials like nylon, polyester, or leather that can withstand the wear and tear of frequent use. Whether you're traveling to tournaments or carrying your gear for weekly practice sessions, a sturdy tennis bag ensures your equipment is always protected and easy to carry.
7. Storage for Extra Gear
In addition to holding your rackets, a tennis bag provides ample space for extra gear. From tennis shoes and socks to hats, wristbands, and even a change of clothes, a good bag can carry everything you need for a complete tennis session. Some bags even have specialized compartments for keeping dirty or sweaty clothes separated from your clean items, helping you stay organized and fresh.
8. Choosing the Right Tennis Bag
When selecting the best tennis bag, consider the following factors:
Size: How much gear do you need to carry? Larger bags are ideal for players with multiple rackets and extra gear, while smaller bags work well for minimalists.
Compartments: Look for a bag with multiple compartments to keep your items organized.
Style: Decide whether you prefer a backpack, duffle bag, or tote-style bag, based on your preference for carrying comfort and design.
Brand and Quality: Choose a reputable brand known for producing high-quality, durable bags. Brands like Wilson, Babolat, Head, and Nike offer some of the best tennis bags on the market.
Conclusion
A good tennis bag is more than just a place to store your racketsâitâs an essential piece of equipment that helps you stay organized, protect your gear, and carry everything you need comfortably. Investing in a quality tennis bag ensures that your equipment is well cared for, your gear is organized, and you can focus on your game rather than worrying about your bag.
