im gonna rant about wanting a cat in the tags so theres that
#okAY so#i want a cat (wow!!)#but since i still live at home i obviously have to ask my parents#proplem is a few years ago when i asked for a kitten for my bday a few years ago mom said no bc money and stuff#and she also says we cant get a dog bc both my parents and me work full time and i dont wanna put expectations on my brother lmao#and dogs are really dependent on you hOwevER cats are way less independent#so i googled a bunch and working full time is fine while having a cat#but its best to get a cat a few years old bc kittens do need a lot of attention#so i was thinking okay cool theres plenty of cats at the shelter that are looking for a home and i can adopt one of those!#BUT THEN the moment i was like 'cool let me go talk to mom' i realised were getting a new couch in two weeks#i dont know a lot about cats though but im pretty sure cat + brand new expensive couch = uh oh#so ive been googling ABouT THAT as WELL and you can teach them to not scratch your couch BUT its easier to teach kittens#but older cats are fine to teach as well i think? idk probably#also read something about small plastic cap thingies that you can glue on their nails so they cant scratch anything with sharp nails#bc im not gonna declaw a cat like i also read about that but no way thats cruel man#so in the mean time i was talking to a friend who got a kitten a few months ago like hey hows your couch#AND THEN TODAY#SHE TEXTED ME THAT !!! KITTIES!!!!!!!!!!!! NEWBORN KITTIES!#half siblings of her kitty were born last night and if im interested she can give my number to the owner and i could get one of those kitten#and theyre SO CUTE but then i remembered kittens do need a lot more attention which is hard if im constantly at my internship hhhhhhhh#so i looked up the shelter near me again and i saw they have a whole facebook page with the slightly older cats that they have#and !! so cute man!#but most of them are all really scary and hm idk if you can tell but i dont have a wholelot of experience with cats lmao#so anyways i was planning on talking to my mom about this all today and then were both free tomorrow so hOPefully if shes okay with it we#can go to the shelter tomorrow (were both free) and get some more information on the cats they have there and all#but i have absolutely no clue how to start that conversation hhh why is this shit so hard#nathalie talks#nathalie rants
