Laser treatment can be quite effective in fading/removing unwanted skin discolorations like freckles and age spots, but did you know over exfoliation can cause more hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin)? Exfoliation stimulates the production of new skin cells which can help with removing some darker pigmented skin cells, but too much exfoliation can lead to "inflammation pigmentation." You cannot "scrub until the hyperpigmentation disappears." Typically you only want to gently exfoliate the skin once a week at most, and try to avoid exfoliation soon after laser treatment. When the skin is already irritated from laser treatment, any exfoliation could be enough to cause further hyperpigmentation. Proper aftercare will result in the best possible results from laser treatment. #factfriday #hyperpigmentation #lasertreatment #laserskinaesthetics #SkinAesthetics #VanishDFW #overexfoliation #properaftercare #bestresults (at Vanish Laser Tattoo Removal) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDUl1QZhSYe/?igshid=u2ux4d02zxcv
