John x Vincent. Churchduel sends my brain into immediate overdrive. I am thinking about it all of the time. Sometimes, I try to think other thoughts, and Churchduel thoughts assert themselves out of the ether instead. Unconditional love and impossible levels of redemption. Throw your punitive justice out the window to prove you're not a cop, we came to cum and it WILL save him. Actually healthy underneath it all because this is secretly an NPD/cluster B positivity story about how a narc can have a healthy relationship with proper accommodations. The flavor of this whump is strawberry and it is mixed with so much cocaine. I NEED Vincent and he needs so much help. Kiss this sad wet cat!!! Kiss him now, John, with tongue!!!!!!

John x Santino. I can't think about them without my heart fluttering. I feel their love for each other inside my own body. They are pure entities of angst and hurt/comfort, to the extent that I can write endless drabble and ficlets about them which I don't normally do. They don't even require context, Santino is just distilled clinginess and need while John is distilled comfort and they just produce an outpouring of gentleness as John helps Santino heal and Riccardo Scamarcio's pronounced eye bags haunt my daydreams (I swear to god, there is never a time when this man looks like he's had a full night of sleep and I think that's just his face. What a face <3). The flavor of this whump is coffee and cigarettes, and the whumperflies make me feel like I'm passing out.

John x Caine. It is a goal of mine to get feral about John x Caine. That one GIF of Caine saying "are you dead John?" and looking like his heart just shattered is buried in my brain, waiting to blossom. Also the fic with the head pats. THE HEAD PATS. And the wet spot induced by the head pats...I can't. I'm dead. People should please send me John x Caine asks, I need to figure out how to write them so I can dive into this because there's so much potential. Their whump flavor remains a mystery and I need to know. I'm getting hints of something slow and ponderous and gentle, perhaps a relaxing tea?

Vincent x Chidi. Let's be honest: Beyond Judgement could just happen with Chidi instead under slightly different circumstances. The point is for there to be a bodyguard who will do anything for Vincent and love him unconditionally like daddy didn't. Chidi might not offer that enemies to lovers factor, but he could absolutely bring out the best in Vincent. He's the one person in the world who is canonically there for Vicent and doesn't want him to die alone and forgotten. Also I spent the better part of today thinking about that Vincent web weaving image set and how much I want there to be someone there to prevent Vincent's tragic fall

Intro Post: Hi <3

I thought I'd do a PROPER intro post on here, because I wanna interact with the whump community so bad, y'all seem so sweet (and talented wth, I can't stop reading!)

I've literally only recently learnt what 'whump' entails like within the past month or so, but now it's clicked into place sooo many things I've loved my whole life and realised that I apparently got whumperflies for! Was definitely convinced something was wrong for me for wanting all my fave characters to be whumped hehe

I'll be posting drabbles, one-shots, maybe some prompts and other kinds of stuff that just springs to mind :)

Favourite Whump Tropes: SUCH a weak spot for captive/kidnapped whump, pet whump, intimate/obsessed whumpers, sometimess bad caretaker (but it depends), injured whump, villain/hero (especially villain whumpee, the angst is immense), hurt/comfort and all that good stuff :)

Kind of Icks?: It's not an ick per se and I'm not opposed to it but I personally cannot write non-con elements simply bc I'm just so bad at it!

Pleasseee feel free to send prompts and asks if you'd like, it'll motivate me to stop being lazy perk up and write something <3

Hey, anon! Thank you very much for the ask and I would be perfectly delighted to answer more whumpy questions :)

Here we go:

2. Do you prefer illness whump or injury whump?

Uhhh, injury, I think. Just because…I don’t know, illness whump tends to involve a lot of relatively the same stuff, and is caused by an external force rather than another character, so that kind of…I dunno, anyway, however, I still do very much like them, don’t get me wrong, and the character development that can form between the sick person (who is not sick thank you very much) and the person who is very much going to help, or one who gets roped into reluctantly helping because said sick person has just collapsed, can be really good. (Did I say really good? I’m sorry, I meant perfection.)

However, have you also considered…

…both at the same time? Or, or, wait for it…

The illness comes after all the injury whump (possibly torture) and it causes the character to become delirious? The opportunities- (Yes I’m evil, I know.)

(Have I used this gif before? Yes. Will I do so again? Also yes.)

11. How and when did you discover the whump community?

I….didn’t know there was a specific community? lmao, uh, I sort of just started writing and reading whump on Ao3 (without really even knowing that was what it was called until much later) and always very much appreciating it when it happened in canon….I was actually really relieved to find out other people liked it, cause I felt….honestly like a terrible person. Now, I have fully embraced the fact that tormenting my favourite characters is just something I do and will continue to do and read about. Believe it or not, that was a weight off my chest. Anyway, I just sort of kept to myself about it, still do, except for writing fic, so..I guess since I got onto tumblr a couple of months ago? Finding other writers gushing about the whump they’re writing has honestly been really helpful to me haha, if that sounds strange. Anyway.

15. Are you interested in any niche whump genres, such as fem!whump or non-human whump?

Ahh, I am still extremely new to fandom and all the lingo, and everything, so I don’t actually know what exactly constitute as niche genres, but ah…for some reason I’ve never really gotten into fem!whump? I guess cause that just has too many personally squicky things tied into it, I mean, apparently I’m fine with watching my favourite male characters get turned into absolute messes, but I’d rather not the same stuff happen to my favourite female characters? I mean, some stuff is okay, but not..a whole lot, except the emotional stuff to flesh out their issues, and then some injury or illness? I honestly don’t know why I’m like this, so please don’t ask. As for non-human, I mean, absolutely yes. If they’re my favourite character, human or otherwise, chances are they’re going to get whumped if I end up writing them. 

I can’t really think of any other specific niche whump genres, but if anyone would like my opinion on any specific ones (this is honestly a really weird sentence to use. My opinion? Honestly who wants that. This is why these ask memes are still baffling to me…but I enjoy them…..) don’t hesitate to send me some, I would be more than happy to indulge. 

17. When was the last time you got the whumperflies?

Just now, honestly. (And I have never heard of this term before xD) Thank you for sending this ask, anon, it got my pretty lousy writing brain to finally start cranking some rusty gears, and I am extremely grateful

Other than that, well, uh, there has been a recent influx of Crowley whump circling the internet and I am very much enjoying it. I also read the wip Walked in These Quiet Hazes by ratsats a short while ago, which featured some excellent Loki whump (do I tag the author? I don’t know the proper tumblr etiquette here….) and is an overall masterpiece and I highly recommend it.

5. Whumper turned Whumpee or Whumpee turned Whumper?

Hm, I think Whumper turned Whumpee. I like to see powerful or arrogant characters being brought down and put in their place. Like what happened between Rumple and Hook. At the beginning he was quite an ass and it was fun to see him loose against Rumple. Also if the whumper did bad things it just feels good whumping them xD I like characters as whumpees who are used to be dominant and the ones everyone fears.

22. Most controversial whump opinion?

I prefer gifs and fanfics over OC-stories. For me whump is about shows or movies and especially actors who look nice while being whumped. Only texts don't do it for me, if I don't have a character I can picture.

Whumpmasinjuly Day 2 - First Whumperflies

I actually can't remember. I think I've always enjoyed whump, that's why I can't remember a moment where I thought oh, I like that. One of the first whumpees was Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh. In one of the mangas he wore a collar, I liked that. Afterwards most of the actors I liked where because they were good whumpees. David Caruso in Kiss of Death, Tim Roth in Lie to Me, Simon Baker in The Mentalist to name a few. And now of course everyone in my pinned post 😅

I' m really curious to hear your stories.

Trapped

So this somehow happened. I hope you like it.

Warnings: Blood, restraints (let me know if there has to be more)

Word count: 475

Steven woke in a dimly lit room. Opposite of him he could make out a pedestal with a little figurine. Khonshu? Obviously the god had actually been turned to stone. Steven would’ve lied if he’d said he was sad about that.

Unfortunately he wasn’t in a much better position. He was on his knees. Again. And his hands were cuffed behind his back. ...Again. The dull aching in his wrists turned to searing pain when he tried to move his arms. Apparently the handcuffs had been chained to the wall behind him and someone had pulled on the restraints till his skin broke. This also explained the sticky feeling on his hands. It was dried blood.

“What happened?” His voice was hoarse, like he’d screamed for some time. On the polished wall next to him he could just barely see his reflection. Well, not exactly his reflection. Reflections didn’t talk.

“The gods deemed it wiser to not only bind Khonshu in stone, but also lock up his last avatar”, Marc answered matter-of-factly.

“But they can’t just leave us here, we’re going to starve.” Steven thought of the poor souls who used to be entombed alive with their dead masters. Was he to meet the same fate?

“We’d die of thirst first, but Khonshu’s still keeping us alive.”

“Oh, good.”

“But I fear we’ll still feel the hunger and thirst,” Marc went on mercilessly. That didn’t sound so good anymore. Somehow dying of thirst once sounded less unpleasant.

“What are we going to do now?”

“We wait. They’ll come for us. At the latest when Harrow frees Ammit. They’ll need us.” Suddenly, Steven felt as if he didn’t get enough air.

“What if they don’t come? What if we’re forgotten?” He was desperately gasping for air now. His breathing had turned ragged and shallow. Instinctively he tried to pull his arms in front of him, which made everything worse when the pain from his wrists made tears well up in his eyes.

“Steven you have to calm down, you’re hyperventilating.” He bloody knew he was hyperventilating! But what else was he going to do? He’d just learnt that he was facing an eternity chained to a wall in the Great Pyramid. Feeling the agony of starving or dying of thirst without being able to die!

“It’s ok... You’re gonna be ok. Just let me take over. You won’t have to feel anything.” The reflection looked and sounded determined. There was only a hint of fear. Surprised Steven stared at Marc. He hadn’t said anything. Either Marc was reading his mind now or he’d just had the same thoughts.

Steven nodded. He’d give up control, for now. But if this was their fate he wouldn’t be reduced to a bystander. And he prayed to whichever god was listening, that Marc was right and this was only temporary.
