I had the great honor to collaborate for an amazing cause. For 8 weeks in the months of September and October, I traveled to Hillsboro, Oregon every Monday to meet with 10 latina women to make art. These brave, beautiful, warrior latinas shared their stories and their time with me. The art we made is for #AnEveningOfEsperanza, a fundraiser gala benefitting @bienestaror, an organization that supports immigrant families and helps them have safe, affordable housing. I was brought into this project by the amazing Megan Diana @i.like.leo (songbird, musician extraordinaire and the genius behing @pianopushplay) and I cannot wait to experience tonight’s event. The super talented @esperanzaspalding will perform a never been heard before music she wrote based on these women.
