The two of them blink in surprise, silent for a moment, before they exchange a taken-aback glance. ‘You wanna go first?’ ‘Hell no. They spoke to you first,’ Changbin says, Chan sighing. ‘There’s no point in me apologising. There’s literally no point at all. It’s not like they’d forgive me if I did, so why would I put myself through that? Go ahead, ruin my dating life. I don’t need all those girls either. I can get by alone, without the prom committee, without jeongin, without girls. I’m fine by myself,’ he says defensively, Changbin just shaking his head at him.

‘Your turn, changboob,’ Chan says with a small grin, Changbin letting out a little noise of annoyance. ‘My name is not changboob. And Chan isn’t influencing me. He was a dick to me on the group chat too, remember? It wasn’t just the others he went for, I was included. So don’t make out like he’s peer pressuring me, or whatever. And fine, burn my gucci. I’ll buy more. Your mum’s slipper isn’t nothing against these biceps,’ he smirks, flexing his arms, and both Chan and Minho roll their eyes at him.

‘I guess I got put in the problematic group chat because I was part of the problem. If it weren’t for me, none of the stuff on the group chat would’ve even happened in the first place, so I get why Jisung put me, and Hyunjin, in the problematic group chat. But thanks, I appreciate the support,’ Minho says awkwardly, small smile on his face, the other two boys looking jealous at not getting any form of support like Minho did. 

‘Sorry if I hurt your feelings. That’s the only apology you’re getting. Not a written one,’ Changbin says drily, before looking to Chan, prompting him to apologise too. ‘I didn’t even apologise to any of those guys. What makes you think I’m apologising to a reader? Don’t be ridiculous,’ Chan scoffs, both Changbin and Minho sighing.

I AM BANNED FROM PERU!’ he complains, looking like he’s trying to hold back a laugh. ‘We’re well aware!’ Hyunjin’s disembodied voice can be heard, and Changbin just stares deadpan ahead of him, looking like he wants nothing more than to go home.

The moment Changbin hears the beginning of the question, he gets up from the sofa and runs out of view, the others bursting into laughter. ‘Go back, you moron!’ Hyunjin shouts at him, his footsteps still echoing through the room as he sprints away, not bothering to stick around for the rest of the question.

‘I was being an idiot that day in the group chat. I know fully well that we all flirted with her way more than she did with us. But I was just... well, you’ll find out soon why I said it,’ Changbin sighs, wishing he could fully explain himself.

‘Um... yes and no. I regret it because it was a shitty thing to do, and it caused me to lose my friends, but... I don’t regret it because I think y/n had a right to know, and now she does. Yes, I shouldn’t have been the one to tell her, but at least she knows. I just didn’t think it was fair that she was in the dark about it, and she was getting all upset over Minho not being with us. You might not believe me, but part of my motivation was because I care about y/n. I didn’t like seeing her stress and worry about him, and it wasn’t fair to leave her clueless when all of the rest of us knew. But if I could go back, I wouldn’t have exposed him. I’d have just bothered him a lot to get him to tell her himself,’ Changbin says, a little desperately, as though he really wants to be believed.

‘No, they don’t taste like ass. They’re the best brownies I’ve ever had,’ Chan admits quietly, and Changbin raises an eyebrow at him. ‘So why did you say it?’ ‘I... it doesn’t matter,’ he says emotionlessly, staring ahead unseeingly, and Changbin just shakes his head, looking at the other boy with concern all over his face.

Silverlightqueen said we can’t discuss our motives for what happened that day on the group chat, because you’re gonna find out soon, but there’s more to this than you think. We didn’t start all of that stuff on the group chat for fun,’ Chan says tiredly, Changbin nodding in agreement. ‘Yeah, we do have reasons. The reasons don’t excuse what we said, obviously, but it’ll at least explain stuff a bit. And no. We’re not simps for y/n. Well, I’m not anyway,’ Changbin says with a side-eye at Chan, who lets out an exasperated sigh. ‘I’m not a simp for y/n either.’ ‘And we know it was all friendly flirting. It was nothing serious, we know that. And you’ll find out the explanations for everything soon. Please just... wait before you hate us,’ Changbin says quietly, looking down at his hands ashamedly.
