Bose Institute Kolkata (An autonomous research institute of Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India)

A Walk-in-Interview will be held on 4th January 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Unified Campus of Bose Institute, Block-EN, Plot No. -80, Sector-V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata 700 091 for four (04) positions of Project Associate-II and three (03) positions of Senior Project Associate for different intramural projects. The positions are purely temporary and are not to be associated with any degree-granting courses.

Post-I

Project Associate-II (01 position) for the project entitled “Biosensor development using microRNA-mRNA-TFs and pathways” under Dr. Debjani Roy, Department of Biophysics.

Desirable Qualifications: Hands-on experience in cell culture, drug delivery and biochemical assays.

Tenure: Initially for one(01) year and renewable upto thee(03) year subject to successful assessment.

Post-II

Project Associate-II (01 position) for the project entitled “study of small molecule – DNA interactions using NMR spectroscopy” under Prof. Gautam Basu, Department of Biophysics.

Desirable Qualifications: Hands on experience of collecting and analyzing NMR spectra of nucleic acids.

Tenure: The position is tenable upto 31.07.2021

Post-III

Project Associate-II (01 position) for the project entitled “Functional characterization of Plasmodium falciparum Alba (PfAlba) family proteins with a view to develop new antimalarial drug target” under Prof. Uday Bandopadhyay, Division of Molecular Medicine.

Desirable Qualifications: Hands on experience in culturing malaria parasite (in vitro and in vivo), cloning over-expression and purification of proteins. Expertise in FPLC techniques, functional characterization of protein by Site-Directed Mutagenesis, confocal Microscopy, antibody generation from Rabbit, Rat and Mice. At-least 01(one) publication in the field of Plasmodium.

Tenure: Initially for one(01) year and renewable upto thee(03) year subject to successful assessment

Post-IV

Senior Project Associate (01 position) for the project entitled “Proline-mediated structural and dynamic effects on folded and unfolded proteins” under Prof. Gautam Basu, Department of Biophysics.

Desirable Qualifications: NMR and Structural Biology.

Tenure: The position is tenable upto 31.07.2021

Post-V

Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent; and

02 years�� experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services

Upper Age limit (years): 35

Monthly Emoluments (Rs.): 35,000/- + HRA

Essential Qualifications for Senior ProjectAssociate

Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent; and

Four years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services OR Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Pharma / MD / MS from a recognized University or equivalent

Upper Age limit (years): 40

Monthly Emoluments (Rs.): 42,000/- + HRA

How to Apply

Eligible and interested candidates may appear before the Selection Committee with a typed application addressed to the Registrar(Officiating), Bose Institute, Block-EN, Plot No. – 80, Sector-V, Salt Lake City, Kolkata 700 091 along with complete Bio-data giving details of qualification i.e. examination passed, year, division, percentage of marks from Secondary onwards and stating the area of research experience with self-attested copies of Certificates, Mark-sheets. Candidates should also bring original mark-sheets, certificates, testimonials etc. at the time of interview.

No TA/DA is admissible for appearing at the interview.
