“Well, some humans are OK, I guess!”—Undyne’s Odd Dialogue

In the Lost Soul battle, it appears Asriel suppresses characters' memories of friendship with Frisk/reverts them to their most hostile states. With this in mind, Undyne's Lost SOUL line: "All humans will die!" makes sense. However, upon being saved, she says: "Well, some humans are OK, I guess!".

The way this is said is strange and seemingly out-of-character. Undyne is normally very confident, stating what she believes without shame, hesitance, or uncertainty.1 So why this line of dialogue?

Maybe she feels conflicted over two beliefs: "Humans suck"/"Humans are amazingly anime", and hesitantly tries to reconcile the two

She committed herself to killing humans/incapacitating humans and bringing them to Asgore so he can kill them,2 but on the other hand befriended a human and did some things in reflection of that friendship, causing cognitive dissonance over her actions and beliefs

Is, overall, prejudiced towards humans despite befriending one, and reconciles that with something approaching the " You Are a Credit to Your Race" trope

Her relationship with Alphys being an exception. I'm not quite sure why. What, is she afraid she might scare the nervous Alphys with a shouted love declaration? Is she embarassed she has to use a passionate letter as a workaround? ↩︎

Black Battler's sprite is nowhere in the main game, regardless of art set. I think that screencap is from one of the side works.

I didn't get a screenshot of lucifer, but she's the oldest, so she'd have to be krauss. satan could fit eva or natsuhi, and mammon could fit eva or rudolf. leviathan, who I also didn't get a screenshot of, should be envy, which... also sounds like eva?

I don't know what to think of belphegor and beelzebub, though. they don't seem particularly related to hideyoshi or kyrie
