Richard Impossible x reader headcanons (post-divorce)

He's sworn off love, after what happened with Sally he just thinks it will cause him too much pain to be in a relationship again.

The Revenge Society gave him something to take his mind off of her, and Phantom Limb's care got him back on his feet, but he still felt like he was missing something.

When he met you, he felt like you were too good for him. He doesn't even try to charm you, he just...mopes around in your general vicinity. He just stands there awkwardly until he finally manages to say something to you

If you're patient with him, he'll quickly revert back to his old suave personality. And if nothing else, he is very entertaining. He knows how to tell a damn good story and capture your attention- and your heart.

You're probably the first to admit your feelings for him. When you do, he is IMMENSELY relieved. But also terrified. Romance didn't work out that well for him in the past, after all.

You reassure him that you love him, even with his many flaws and skeletons in his closet.

Ok, onto when your relationship is established

He doesn't just hug you, he wraps his entire body around you. Literally. He's like a snake. And if you like being tied up...well, I won't go into detail on that.

He's always been a smooth talker but you can fluster him easily. Squeeze his hand and he immediately starts blushing and fumbling over his words. Kiss him and he literally blacks out for a few seconds.

At first he hates when you bring up Sally and tries to outright ban talking about her. But he quickly learns that's not going to work with you, and he'll have to confront his actions to keep dating you.

A while into your relationship, you'll end up sitting with him one evening and listening to him as he spills everything about Sally and how their relationship fell apart. He cries in your arms at one point. Just hug him and give him a forehead kiss or two, he'll be back to his calm self in no time.

CUDDLE. THIS. MAN. He craves physical affection more than anything.

Despite the strands being pretty much rubber, his hair is actually very soft

His ideal sleeping arrangement is wrapping you in his arms and covering the two of you with many blankets. He even has a couple of plushies that he sleeps with, but nobody is allowed to know about them except for you.
