Hubby and I went to visit a house in The Lake District (England) that was designed according to the Arts and Crafts movement.

And it's so good!

One of the essential ingredients is make 'rooms' within rooms'.

So you'll get a big communal hall, and it has alcoves, all with intimate seating areas. Every fireplace has inglenooks, where you could cosy up on cold nights.

We agreed that it'd be an amazing place to play hide and seek.

I hate the “open floor plan” that everyone is obsessed with in houses now. I want nooks and crannies and bizarre floor plans. I don’t need to be able to see what someone is doing on the other side of the house. I want places to hide and lurk and dwell in the shadows. I am the beast who awaits in the labyrinth

2024 BBC Proms seemed to have a story theme today.

Out in the car this morning, we listened to a performance of The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Of course the conductor mentioned Mickey Mouse in 1940 Fantasia.
