Okay, so A Change of Mind often isn’t considered one of the strongest episodes of the series or whatever but it's a pet favorite of mine all the same. I do wish the earlier themes in the episode - the methods and impacts of rapidly escalating social isolation and outright hostility - had been explored more fully BUT it’s still pretty powerful! This tiny bit alone, where Six storms off after officially being declared Unmutual and the sight of a flock of geese causes his expression to go from his usual pissy scowl

to something much more wistful

imho it’s one of the saddest and most vulnerable Six moments in the whole series, and also a perfect illustration of the desire to belong and feel accepted, even as a loner who resents + doesn’t doesn’t fit neatly into the society around them.

Current Obsession: vocal synths (it's been on and off since i was 12 but right now it's going strong. just recorded an UTAU for the first time in years), Neon Genesis Evangelion (my brother and I watched the '95 anime for the first time just over a month ago and it's stuck in my brain now), and currently some specific OCs and their story (1930s-thru-60s inspired capitalism hell planet. it may not be good but it's fun for me to think about) 🤖
