まずは以前書いた「レアリティによってフレームが変わっていたはず」という認識はあまり正確ではなかったことについて。

(I would like to point out that the "OK sign" in Japan, formed with the thumb and index finger, can be interpreted as disrespectful in some cultures. However, it is just a common positive and kawaii gesture for us🥺I had just very little. . .)

まず、2015 5thライブから神1弾まで、SR以上のプリチケは豪華なフレームのソロチケで固定だったことが思い込みを作っていたようだ。具体的には

SR=銀背景に銀のツタと白いお花があしらわれたフレーム

CR・PR・MR・SCR=金背景に星や宝石があしらわれたフレーム

になっていた。同じ色でもコーデの属性によってデザインは変わらないし、金チケのレアリティ別デザインもほぼ同じだ。MRのみ流れ星の中に「MYSTERY」と書かれたマークがQRの少し上に配置されていた。CRではコーデの属性によって左上ハートマークアイコンを囲う色が変わるという違いはあった。確認できた限り、

ラブリー=赤寄りのピンク

ポップ=青寄りの水色

クール=紫

プレミアム=水色

だった。ほかに当時の現物はなかったが、この法則なら多分ナチュラルは緑、セレブは金色で囲われているはずだ。他のプリチケからぴったりな緑色をスポイトで取ったり、ネットで配布されている適当な金グラデを使えば解決するだろう。

SR以上ソロチケ固定の始まりは2015 5thライブ、つまりゲームにひびきが登場した頃だった。ソロチケ固定については賛否両論あり、巷では「セレパラ仕様」と言われていたようだ。確かに。キリのいい神1弾ではなく、なぜか神2弾からランダムなポーズに戻った(現物で確認)。

下の2枚は「コーデチケ」と言って、マイキャラのデータが保存されていないものになる。マイキャラを作らずにゲームで遊ぶと、このタイプのプリチケが排出された。アニメでのデザインと似ているのはむしろこちらだろうか？　筐体をやっていない人からしたらこちらのほうが馴染みがあるデザインかもしれないので載せる。

ちなみに「コーデチケ　※マイチケではありません」「マイマネージャー」という表記について少し。これらは和製英語の固有名詞で、誰のものであっても「マイ◯◯」と呼ぶ。日本のプリパラアーケードは最新の「マイチケ」に最新のマイキャラのデータが保存されていく形式だったので、マイキャラデータが入っていない「コーデチケ」とは区別して呼ぶ必要があった(でも大陸版ではアプリでデータを管理できたとか)。マイマネについては後述する。

アーケードとアドパラコーデのレアリティは一部変更されているので補足。コーデ時代のレアリティが変わったものもあるが、主に変更されたのは、

では2015 5thライブから神1弾までのSR未満はどんなプリチケだったのかと言うと、

当時、フレームの形状は同じでもラインストーンの色に違いがあった。

の4種類だ。確認した限りではランダムだと思うが、銀が一番多く、カラフルなものが一番少なかった。この発見によって、むしろあらゆるカラーバリエーションを作ることができることに気づいてしまった。(最も見慣れた記憶からか、私は低レアは銀、高レアは金で統一されていると思い込んでおり、カラフルなものは記憶に残ってさえいなかった。機会がなければきっと知れなかった、ありがとう！)

左上のポーズは中央上のポーズのバグ。立ち位置が入れ替わっていてうまくハートを作れていない。他にも本来いるはずのチームメートが消える、印刷されたコーデと実際に着せられるコーデが違うなどのバグがよく起きていた。まぁ、アドパラの世界観にもある意味で受け継がれている伝統芸かもしれない。

2015 1stライブ(2015年4月2日)からQR の形状が変わった。QR を囲んでいたリボンが消え、二回りほど大きくなっている。コーデや名前欄の位置も違和感がない程度に微調整されている。 QR が小さいとマイキャラのイラストをより大きく・デザインをより自由に配置できて映えやすい、QR が大き��と長らく親しみを持ってきたデザインに近く馴染みやすいというメリットがあるように感じる。

さて、違和感に気づいた人がいるかもしれない。中央下に映っている6人ライブは期間限定である。後ろのそらみスマイルの3人は固定で、トモチケメンバーとして呼べるのは2人まで。(ちなみにNintendoプリパラではいつでも遊ぶことができ、こちらではトモチケメンバー全員を自由に選ぶことができる。)

そして右下の5人チケについて。これはドリームシアターとは別に5人でライブできるモードがあったわけではなく、ドリームシアターライブの後で課金した時に出てくる通常プリチケだ。2017年12月27日までドリチケの追加課金はできなかった。

信じられないかもしれないが、昔は人からマイチケさえ借りれば誰でもそのコーデを着られたわけではなかった。各マイチケ右上にご注目ください。アーケードのプリパラではマイキャラの名前ごとにマネージャーが決まっていた。全7色×5種類の35パターンである。リンク

このシステムは「マイチケを別のマイキャラと共有できるかどうか」に関わっていた。右上に何もない頃は全く同じ名前のマイキャラとしかコーデの共有ができなかったため、大量の同名マイキャラ持ちも珍しくなかった。(コーデチケは誰とでも共有可能) まずは卵の状態(生えている耳や足などの特徴および色)、孵化してからは同じ動物および同じ色のマネージャー同士(たとえば緑の鳥同士)でのみコーデの共有ができた。この仕様変化により、プリチケトレードに革命が起きた。(うん、クマやウサギは卵から生まれるのかよってのは気にしちゃい��ない。) 神1弾からその縛りはなくなり、コーデ共有のためにマイマネ厳選をしたり、マイマネ占いに頼る必要がなくなった。遊びの幅もより広がった。(マイマネ厳選=名前に記号を付けまくってマイマネを調整する挑戦のこと。マイマネ占い=かつてファンによって作成された、デビュー前にマイマネを確認できたサイト。)

と、まぁ「自分のマイキャラにマネージャーがいたら……」なんていうふうに妄想するのも楽しいかもしれない。現状アドパラには一切登場しないため、この歴史は豆知識に過ぎないかもしれない。マイマネ占い亡き今、どのマイマネになるか正確に掴みにくいことは残念だ。開き直ってしまえば、もう誰も確認できないので捏造し放題である。ちなみにハムのマネージャー兼召使いは人間の私という設定。 . (´Y｀)ふぅ ◯l￣￣L(涙)

また、これはデザイン上の細かい話だが、マネージャーの登場に伴いプリパラのロゴとランク名及びいいね♥の枠が小さく、かつ左寄りに配置されるようになった。 こういったアップデートは時折挟まれていたが、開始や終了のアナウンスがないものも多い。たとえば「クマのフローズンスタンプ」があるプリチケは2014 2nd ライブから排出されていたが、終了時期は不明だ。

好評だったり要らないと言われていたりと評価は様々。ちょっと手間がかかるだろうけど、オリジナリティのために何か��って貼るのも楽しそう。

神2弾以降はレアリティアイコンの形状がブランドの属性ごとに違うものになっている。リンク

一部の高レアリティ(MR・SCR・神・夢)を除き、フレームは属性ごとに同じものに統一され、全体的に豪華仕様になった。特徴的なのはコーデ背景のレースが廃止されたこと、属性ごとのイメージを表すような装飾が多くあしらわれたこと。

MR・SCR・神・夢はそれぞれの属性のフレームを主に金色にカラーチェンジしたものになっている。(セレブのフレームはもともと金色なので違いが分かりにくい。)

それ以前のシンプルなフレームもまた魅力的なので好みが分かれる。比較画像を用意するのに時間がかかっています……。私はコーデの後ろに円形のレースがあったほうがパッと見やすかったので好き。

デュオプリチケ。2人モードで遊ぶと「ずっトモチケ」付きの「ずっトモプリチケ」がもらえた(ずっトモ=Forever friends)。

デザインが対になっていてトモダチ感がマシマシになり、超絶大好評のモードだった。友達と遊んでトモチケをパキるも良し、「ぜひペアで呼んでね！」というつもりで友達に渡すも良し、一人でやって大切に保存しておくも良し。私もいくつか額縁に入れて飾っている。

大まかなフレームは各属性のものだが、左右を囲むフレームだけはレースのみとシンプルなデザイン。2人の友情を美しく飾るための引き算を効果的に使っていることが伺い知れる。デザイナーのこだわりを感じられる瞬間は楽しい。

Okay, so I have a bit of an announcement to make!

I've decided I wanna become a panelist! It's high time I combined my special interests with my teaching skills in order to spread the prism sparkle.

Plus I need something to do an anime cons when my body doesn't let me do idol activities anymore.

My first panel will of course be on Pretty Series! I'm writing it as an introduction for beginners, but I'll be including some deep cuts for people who are already familiar, as well as setting up a little museum on the table of various arcade artifacts!

I'll be touching on every season but honestly it will probably be like 30% Pretty Rhythm and 60% PriPara partially due to my own preferences but also because I think PriPara is the most relevant series since you can play Idol Land from overseas. (Ideally I'll get to present this while Idol Land is still running so I can end with a tutorial on how to play!)

(I won't be touching upon King of Prism aside from a brief mention because that could be its own panel... hmm hmm.)

But yeah. I probably won't get to present this until at least spring 2025 (if not summer), mostly because there aren't any anime cons coming up in the next few months that I'd feel comfortable presenting at. But, hopefully this will all be coming soon to a con near you!! ...I-If you live in the Northeastern United States, that is... I probably won't be going farther than that. Haah ha.

Anyway, I just made myself sad when I realized one of the big reasons why Pretty Series isn't popular in the west. Literally my three favorite seasons (Rainbow Live, Idol Land PriPara, PriChan season 2) have never been officially translated. Is this all correct?

Tonight Pripara Information!!!

1. New Character Parts: new character parts will be added! We don’t have any info on who it will be? I’m hoping it’s not anime character parts, and would like to see some of the arcade parts. But if we do get Anime Character parts my guess is it’s gonna be Hibik or Yui parts.

2. Added Login Bonus: a new login bonus will be available for players to obtain! I’m hoping for more Gacha tickets!

3. New Song added: we are getting a new song! However this one is a bit different. When I translated the wording I got this “ Addition of collection linkage project”. Meaning this could be a whole new song that wasn’t in the switch version! Tomorrow we are getting the release of both Pripara Albums. Are we getting an Idol Land anime song? Also here is the kanji for those who can read Japanese “ソング♪コレクション連動企画の追加”.

Bonus Info!

1. Dressing Pafe: the Dressing Pafe Gacha will be heading out, and being replace with a new Gacha to go with the update add on.

2. Prism Stone Shop: Garumagdon items will be heading out of the shop to welcome in returning and hopefully new Coords to the shop!

3. Bug Fixes: They plan to fixes the few bugs in the Photo Studio. The main one being not being able to use it after a while.

What is Idol Land PriPara?

Idol Land PriPara is a web-anime and spinoff of the TV Anime PriPara. The main protagonist in Idol Land PriPara is Amari Katasumi, a shy outcast high school girl who once wanted to be idol but was laughed at by her classmates. One day, she meets Laala, rediscovers her dream to become an idol, and debuts in Idol Land, the new and improved PriPara.

WITH Stage

It's been almost 3 years since the show dates, but I present to you the full stage show! The story mainly revolves around Koyoi's past when he left WITH, and his relationship with Dark Nightmare/YamiPri. If you're interested in the two DarkMare boys, it's great to watch because most of their settings are explained right here. (Also for divorce drama likers too, this one's for you.)

Oh yeah, they all wear plastic sheet over their mouth because it was 2020. Wild times, but thanks to that I get to watch this show online at least.

Pretty Series song reviews: 0-week-old

Song

This was the first (and maybe only) PriPara song to give me chills/goosebumps. It's amazingly effective at what it sets out to do; a perfect character song.

I really love the way the song begins with the sound of a creepy music box, alluding to Falulu's doll-like nature. I like that they didn’t use electronic music for a robot character, but instead went with robotically-played classical instruments (and the aforementioned music box) to hint at the fact that she’s not entirely organic.

The version from season 2, Love Week Old, aims to give off a divine and grandiose feeling by replacing the lead instrumentals with the sound of a choir, but it feels a bit forced to me, or maybe I just don't like it. The season 1 version definitely has the better instrumentals.

The first verse has an eerie melody that you should NOT hum to yourself while walking down a dark corridor at night. But as the chorus approaches, the song seems to force itself into a major key. The chorus' melody is almost aggressively classical.

There's something about this song, especially the chorus, that makes me slightly angry... I get the impression that it was carefully constructed to have emotional appeal, perfectly designed to be a song that people will sing along to. A rhyming structure, a high note here, a key change there, and then a long note. It's like it was made by studying countless classical pieces and catchy ballads, following the structure perfectly, sounding both emotional and emotionless at the same time. It's as if it was composed by an alien who studied song formats and thought, “this will make the audience feel something,” without the alien composer necessarily feeling anything themself. It gives off a chilling impression, and it works so well that almost feels manipulative, which is a ridiculous thing to say about a song.

Vocals

Falulu's voice actor did an excellent job giving her that robotic sound – the first time I listened to this, I was in utter disbelief that this was being sung by an actual human and not a computer. From beginning to end, almost every syllable is staccato. The only thing that breaks the illusion is an audible breath before the final note. I almost wonder if that was done on purpose.

Love Week Old has more natural-sounding vocals. As unique as the robotic vocals are, I do prefer the vocals from the second version, which is a shame because I prefer the instrumentals from the first version.

I have to say... I don’t like the duet version with Hibiki. Their voices are too different and they keep overpowering each other. Or maybe the track just isn't mixed that well. But now I usually hear the "la la la la" part in my head when I think about this song, even though I'm imagining the solo version.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Hibiki sang an octave lower than Falulu, which means that Hibiki has sung the lowest note (A2) out of everyone in the Pretty Series. (Well, I'm not sure about some of the game/album exclusive songs, but definitely the lowest note out of all the songs from the anime series.)

Lyrics

Probably my favourite lyrics in all of PriPara. My absolute favourite line is the one that the subs translated as "a history of mere existence". I find the lyrics relatable, as I've felt for a very long time like I've only been existing and not actually living. Trapped in a world that no one else can see. Etc. The lyrics also resonate strongly due to their rhyming structure and clear delivery.

Love Week Old's lyrics are like a response to those of 0-week-old's. Falulu's life has truly begun; she is living in the world now. (Or, well, even if she can't go to the real world, she's still found a world to live in.) I can't yet relate to those lyrics, and I'm not sure whether I ever will, but they're so beautiful and heartfelt and genuine that I can't help wanting to believe in them.

Choreography

A dance that mimes the lyrics without looking forced. The ballet influence is nice, especially the leaps during the chorus.

Possibly the best visuals out of every PriPara performance ever. A beautiful and nostalgic stage design, stained glass, spinning gears, eerie red lights... what's not to like? It's especially neat how the stage starts off dull except for the area around Falulu, but then the brightness spreads across the whole stage at the chorus.

It's also cool how the gears remain visible in the background even during the Cyalume part of the performance, and, of course, the neon silhouettes that dance with Falulu. The post-Cyalume scenes are usually kind of an eyesore, but this one is good.

Good points: Memorable lyrics, song suits the character perfectly Bad points: Some people may not like the vocal style

ajimi is the best-designed character in pripara

...okay heres reasoning

cohesive, overt theming. its a kids show so the in-your-face nature works really well, yet its still somehow not TOO overt? shes wearing a beret and her cylume coord features the most basic landscapes-- not only is she an artist, shes specifically an art teacher and thats clearly reflected in her main/cyalume coord. probably the strongest theming out of anyone (save maybe peppers animal thing)

glasses representation. pripara should NOT bestow perfect vision to people!!! blind bitches exist too

her colour scheme is reaaaaally nice. the pinks are complimented nicely by her brown eyes. and in the anime shes got cute pink cheeks (which the game excluded🙄 even though player avatars could add those same exact pink cheeks???)

her hair... hello...

while her brand is a bit more limited since she wasnt really important for long :((( candy alamode more is easily my favourite brand in pripara (which says a lot since im usually drawn to more gothic and punk inspired brands)

okay actually this is becoming reasons why shes just a great character in general. but her being an artist is soooo fun and it wouldve been so fun to have more profession-based characters. give us a pastry chef or something cmon. and if i ever regain my motivation to translate stuff... which will happen...! her artist references will be so fun to translate (yuppp. the same references that contributed to me being unable to understand a word she said since s2 didnt get fansubs? theyre good now actually). but yeahhhhh also id always wanted to be an artist as a kid so ajimi speaks to me

shes a really fun contrast to mirei. she uses an offshoot of mireis brand that really is more of what candy alamode is going for, but where mirei wears the most generic candy pop theming, ajimis coords are much more reflective of her actual personality. ajimi looks identical inside and out of pripara, including being one of very few glasses wearers, while mirei notably loses her glasses and her whole schtick is being completely different in pripara. mirei puts on her idea of a generic pop idol persona, including catchphrases that dont really mean anything and arent reflective of any facet of her personality. her "pri" just refers to pripara, cant possibly get more generic. ajimi has stupid catchphrases too, but theyre reflective of her actual personality and interests. she namedrops artists constantly, not bc shes trying to come across any which way but bc she just really loves art and wants to incorporate her favourite artists into her speech

shes involved in the undisputed absolute best songs in pripara. omomrice and aidol wo torimodose. and papipupepolice by proxy. she has some kind of midas touch shenanigans going on

while they didnt go anywhere with it, she was in a team with the indomitable shirai nanami. THEEEEE true main character. and sure they tried to remedy this w ucchari big bangs but q p cosmix never got the respect it deserved. kyupikon mothafuckas
