We left the secure room, it being necessary to lock the inner door before the outer one could be unlocked from the inside.  In the hallway outside, Arianne said, “I must go to my apartments and there change to my proper Robes of State.  I will join you for the processional.”

As she was turning to go, she paused and asked, “Knowing his importance to you, though at the time I knew not why, I did have the High Table seating the same as last feast, that Dawnfire be between your Highnesses.  If that is no longer satisfactory, I can have him put wheresoever you wish it.”

Celestia chuckled happily as she responded, “It will be most satisfactory, Corbiestep.  We shall enjoy it immensely.”

As she trotted away, she giggled, “Good!  So will I!”

As predicted, the Processional caused a stir of very unhappy nobles!  As it was her castle, Arianne led it off paired with King Leiuee. Celestia and Luna followed.  Dawnfire was placed by himself just behind the Princessses.  The Dukes of both lands followed, paired, one of Equestria to one of Prance.  Their noble mares followed, except for those cases where the holder of the title was the mare! Then it was their consorts who followed.  Bringing up the very end of the Processional, by the joint Royal Orders of the Princesses and King Leiuee, were Duke Grabaland paired to General Falshort!

Grabaland was already a bit into his cups, and literally rubbing his side against the General's uniform saddle bag.  As they were seating themselves, Grabaland got a puzzled look, his brow furrowing and sweating profusely.  He tried to get a breath.  Almost to his place of disgrace, he collapsed!

The whole hall looked on in horrified interest!  Arianne called out, “Surgeons!  Attend to the Duke!”

Luna literally leaped across the High Table and sprinted to the fallen Grabaland!  Skidding to a stop, she had him in her magic!  Careful not to touch him except by magic, she conducted a swift evaluation of the corpse.  

She called out, “Nopony eat or drink anything at all.  Grabaland has been poisoned!

From her Royal Robes, she produced a small case.  Open, it held many small vials.  Judiciously, she selected one.  Its stopper had a small glass rod attached.  A minute drop of the contents was applied to Grabaland's nostrils.  The result was a slowly spreading ring of pale red.

She applied a second minute bit to his tongue.  Nothing happened at all.

Her magic lifted him up as if he were standing.  His side that had been facing the General had visible corruption.  His robe showed some damage.

The Princess' magic took the General before he could flee!  A touch of the tiny glass rod to his saddle bag produced a spreading red stain that smoked slightly.

Princess Luna, holding the struggling General effortlessly, in spite of his attempts to use the magic of his horn, called out, “Guards! Horncap the General but do not touch him!  Use magic only!  Grabaland leaned against that saddle bag and died of it!  There is a potion of Death Angel Aminita in that bag and it has leaked some.  It may have been used to poison a cup or plate, as no food has been brought out yet!

Sturdy unicorn guard ponies came out.  The General's struggles were in vain. With Princess Luna assisting them, he was horncapped and in manacles in short order.  

Princess Luna quietly strolled up to the High Table.  She paused and turned back.  In the U shape of the banquet tables was a small table set for two.  Countess Arianne and King Leiuee.  Applying tiny amounts of her test potion to the cups showed both to be poisoned.  There was none on the rest of the service.

Trying the High Table found no further poison.

General Falshort was screaming for mercy!   “Get that bag off of me!  The bottle has leaked!  Save me!”

Taking her time, and leading King Leiuee and Arianne, Countess Corbiestep, Princess Luna paused to inquire of the restrained General, “Please tell me WHY we should save you?  The Gryphon Empire, at the southern end of the Sunset Mountains call poison the Coward's Weapon.  They are right.  

“When this filly, only an heir apparent, due to your cowardly attack without a Declaration of War, beat back your invasion on Hearthwarming, you abandoned your troops and ran, allowing her to capture hundreds of them.

“You next tried to infiltrate an invading force.  You supplied the plan but were afraid to lead them.  She caught them too.  She came to Our Court in Canterlot with gold filled pay chests that she captured as well.  That was when, in open Court, War was Declared,  

“Your next attack was to be an invasion through four passes into Equestria. Arianne, with a lawful war declared, struck first by two days and drove you out of THREE PROVINCES.

“You did lead the Highfold Road counter attack.  When the big railroad guns opened up on your troops, you fled the field again, leading to a rout.

“You devised General Triard's attempt to cut Arianne's conquest into two. She captured the whole six thousand pony army and all of its munitions.

“She found out about your Notes of Payment fraud scheme that you had with a few other nobles to effectively steal the three provinces from your own nation by bankruptcies and foreclosures.  She defeated that scheme too.

“Now, at the last, returning the conquered lands as she promised to do, you have tried to assassinate both her and your King.  That plan has also miscarried.

“Our Warrior Countess and your King will share that vintage and meal as friends, just as she hoped to do.  You will not have to see it happen though.”

“Princess! You can't just stand there and let me die!  You must save me!”

Arianne turned to King Leiuee and asked curiously, “Can you think of a single reason to spare his life from this poison that he meant for us?”

King Leiuee shrugged.  “I can think of one, yes.  I would prefer to see him publicly hanged and gutted.  That is really not reason enough to save him from his own poison, though.”

The General's struggles took on a less coordinated aspect.  He started to have difficulty drawing breath.  He shut his eyes to keep from seeing those watching him die.  His breath slid out in an impossibly long sigh as his heart beat its last.

All returned to the interrupted feast of friendship.

Do you think we should have been shown twilight do more concrete princess duties besides solving minor disputes, or going to utterly useless ceremonies. The most we see her do as far as accomplishments as a princess(besides beating up near-do well), is making an alliance with the Yaks. Becuase as it stands,clestia simply gave an empire to someone who's princesss experance consisted of usin lazers to beat magical terrorists, one negpotiation, and struggling to manage a single ceremony.

Ever since season four, fans have convinced themselves that for some reason giving Twilight more to do as a princess will somehow fix the flaws of the later seasons. If you were to apply all of the changes you listed, none of what made the later seasons flawed would go away. It doesn’t fix the bad redemptions, it doesn’t fix The fixation on friendship as a religion rather than a concept, and it definitely doesn’t fix the lore pandering. That’s the stuff that needed changing.

There’s a reason why we don’t see Twilight doing any of the stuff in the show, and it’s the same reason why we never saw Celestia or Luna doing it prior to Twilight becoming a princess.

It’s because that shit is BORING.

While the next two show how far Ive come on drawing humans. The first one of the pair I made in 2014ish the second one was made this year and is of M arinette from Miraculous ladybug.

Karen sighed as she leaned back against the wall, pulling a cigarette out of her pocket. Her lighter was finicky, and as she tucked the cigarette between her lips she began the age old struggle of fighting with it. “I’m gonna win, you bastard,” she muttered out of the corner of her lips, and, two clicks later, the flame sprang to life. “Fuck.”

Smoking during the summer was always odd, especially at a place like Harvest Academy. On one hand, smoking was one of the most soothing experiences alive. On the other hand, the Academy seemed to have set up every single smoking area in such a way that sunlight shone on it directly, practically baking her against the wall.

Worth it, though. Sweaty as she was, it was fucking worth it to take that first long drag.

She squinted against the sun when she heard someone coming down the road. There had been a storm just the day before, and though the hot sun had baked most of the moisture out of the ground so it wasn’t squishy, there was a big ass branch that had ended up in the middle of the sidewalk. And along came a pinkette - Luna Sinclair, somebody every student knew, even if, like Karen, they’d never spoken a word to her - with her nose buried in her phone. As usual. “Yo, cotton candy,” Karen called out with a smirk as she tapped the ashes off the end of her cigarette. “Watch your step, sweetie.”

•｡ ღ Bianca rested her chin on her fist, tilting her head and puckering her supple lips in the most adorable fashion whilst angling her phone to catch the perfect lighting for the ultimate selfie to post to her Snapchat story. Charitable was one word to describe her, for the world deserved at least one picture of her each day -- even moreso when new filters were released, they were suitable test material. Alas, at least for today, she chose to provide her viewers with another typical puppy dog face -- it was never a risky hit or miss, for it always hit well with the observant eye. In all honesty, however, she had been fiddling around on her social media in an attempt to quickly pass the time while she waited impatiently for her friend -- the word still foreign to her tongue -- to join her by the fountain. The two young girls had urgent matters to discuss, such as their next venture on this academy.

Tick tock the hand on the clock struck past. For Luna’s sake, she merely hoped that she could hear the sound of her amethyst eyes rolling in annoyance that she always tended to struggle to meet their designated time to meet up. Then, much to her satisfaction, the familiar sight of two luscious pink pigtails emerged from around the corner of one of the buildings.

“Luna!” She smiled sweetly, clicking her phone off for the time being. “Thank you so much for being prompt. You never cease to amaze me.” Her voice dripping with sarcasm, even though she should know that she wasn’t genuinely upset -- yet.

“H-Help,” he muttered weakly, and that was so not what he wanted to say, lips still pressed against hers, a shaking hand coming to rest on her shoulders.

I was tagged to provide 8 facts about De Writer.  I got a little carried away, as usual.

I was tagged by both @ask-the-chan-family and @howisthedoc for eight facts about De Writer.

1 . De Writer is ancient.  Equestria the world was only about 1500 years old when he was born.

2 . De Writer was the inventor of the concept of writing and devised the first script ever used.  Modern Equestrian, though much changed, is directly descended from that script, which he taught in the first school of writing and reading.  His school was opened under the wise auspices of Jarl Natchin and Jarla Peachtree  That was before the Hearthwarming Invasion.

3 . As recounted in DE WRITER AND THE ORB  OF THE AGES, De Writer was made foster father of the fillies Celestia and Luna.  They were forced to flee for their lives during the Hearthwarming Invasion and went to the Sunrise Isles, the secret  fortress home of Skyglow, the Creator Titan of Life Creation, the mother by direct creation, of Celestia and Luna.  She instructed them in the use of Creation Magic to keep the heavens in order.  That took about 200 years.

4 . De Writer exists in the absolute instant of the True Present.  To appreciate this, time itself must be correctly understood.  There are four parts.  They are not Future, Present and Past.  

The future does not exist in any real way.  It is only mathematical possibilities.  A real future would require predestination and destroy the concept of free will.  Mathematical probabilities are mutable.

The Mathematical Probabilities condense to the Absolute Instant of the Present.  This mathematical point is were De Writer was put by Skyglow.  The De Writer that others see is a three dimensional shadow cast on the fabric of time.  Due to the fact that the Absolute Instant of the Present exists EVERYWHERE that time does, De Writer can use that fact to be anywhere that time itself exists.  Instantly. No magic required.

There follows a short span, no more than a few seconds, called the Plastic Present.  This is what all beings exist in.  All that they see or hear, due to the lag between eye or other sense picking something up and reacting to it, is already past.  Reactions and actions taken in this space are the basis of Free Will.  They can influence the Probabilities of the future.   This is where De Writer's time shadow is perceived.  He is NOT actually there.

Finally, there is the past.  The PAST is fixed and immutable.  Using the Orb of the Ages, De Writer can see ANYTHING in the past from mere seconds ago, almost to the creation of Equestria.  He cannot see any of the Creator Titans but can see what they have done.  The future cannot be seen because it does not exist.

The result of where De Writer is trapped in Time, is a form of Immortality.

5 . De Writer, using the Orb of the Ages, keeps the Chronicle of Equestria, which besides containing facts about important issues, also contains his observations about possible threats to the Kingdom and the Twins, that he loves.  

If the threat is severe enough, he may intervene, though that is actually rare, except for incursions from other dimensions.  Those, he deals with ruthlessly.   Through unfortunate experience, he uses his Temporal Translocation ability sparingly.  Doing too much for the ponies causes them to become complacent and careless.

6 . The EDICT OF BANISHMENT - About 1000 years after the founding of Equestria, at the end of what is called the Fortress Canterlot Days, a cabal of Unicorn Supremacists began trying to sunder the Kingdom for their own advantage.  They drove wedges between the Lesser Sorts, Earth Ponies, Pegassi, donkeys, goats and others and the True Unicorns.  They used the followings of Luna and Celestia to drive a wedge between the Princessses.

De Writer's counsel to bring peace between the factions led the plotters to get the Princesses to use Creator Magic to banish the nuisance to their plans.  The Scroll that was intended to be a limited and reversible thing, was altered by the plotters, for “Grander Wording and Poetic Effect.”  The Creator Magic, was unfortunately literal. De Writer, the foster father that they did love, was banished from the Very Shadow of the Walls of Canterlot and from the SIGHT of the Princesses FOREVER.  The wording had NO loophole.

Due to Creation Magic not being able to be undone or set against itself De Writer was able to continue the Chronicle, a task set him by Skyglow, ages previous.  It has became the only avenue of direct communication between the Princesses and De Writer.

7 . Much later, De Writer, using a magical disguise, roamed the eastern and northeastern hinterlands of Equestria, appearing to be the elderly donkey Marchhare, pulling a trade cart between assorted remote farms.  When the Gryphon Empire expanded southward along the Sunset Mountains, De Writer, as Marchhare, distinguished himself as both Ambualance puller and Medic, receiving decorations for both bravery in action and Mercy to even the fallen Gryphon warriors.

Shortly after that, he learned, through the Orb of the Ages, of the famine and Drought in the ancient and long vanished Kingdom of Gyptia, a land of horses, rather than ponies.  In the course of hauling valuable provisions and water across the deadly desert still known as Celestia's Anvil, he found a band of seven cast off slaves who were nearly dead from thirst and starvation.

He used his provisions and water to guide them safely to a pass into Equestria.  These became the original nucleus of the Rom.

8 . For the last 843 years, Marchhare has lived with and guided the Rom on Equestria's Roads.  They call him the Ghost Who Guides, believing that he died in the desert, rescuing the first Rom.  

Finally having a mate for the first time in his very long life, all of his foals were horse sized, horse conformed, and horse colored UNICORNS of considerable power.  They all bred true, both stallions and mares, bearing more unicorn foals.

Now, most Rom have horns and are, at some remove, descended from him.

Celestia and Luna are frequent visitors to Marchhare's Band of Rom, believing, along with the Rom, that he is a Ghost.  Because they are not aware that he is actually De Writer, they can see and interact with him and take comfort in having a father figure back in their lives.
