10.25.2021 🇳🇱 Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands open the new construction of the Kalorama Center for the deafblind in Beek, municipality of Berg en Dal, on Monday afternoon, October 25, 2021. Kalorama focuses on people with specific care needs. The Center for the Deafblind is one of the organisation's five locations. Princess Margriet opens the Center for the deafblind by symbolically laying the last stone. Afterwards she visits various residential groups where she speaks with residents and their supervisors. In total, the Center for the deafblind has seven residential groups, each with eight residents. The residential groups function as independent households. The hearing and vision limitations of the residents were taken into account during the construction and furnishing. This is expressed in the choice of materials, colours, conveniently operable household appliances, walking routes and windows that filter sunlight. 05.19.2021 🇳🇱 Prinses Margriet heropent Artis na versoepelingen Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands reopened Artis Zoo in Amsterdam on Wednesday morning 19 May. Due to the corona pandemic, zoos have been closed for the past five months. Princess Margriet is the patroness of Artis. As of today, transfer locations, such as zoos and amusement parks, can open their outdoor areas again under certain conditions. Visitors to Artis must reserve a ticket and a starting time online in advance via the website. The necessary adjustments have also been made in the park to guarantee the safety of visitors, employees and animals. Zoos have seen their income decline in the past year due to closures and limited visiting options. Artis was supported by members, friends, donations and grants to pay for the care of the animals and the maintenance of the park. Many children have supported the zoo with self-conceived actions. Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands will announce the winners of the final of the Princess Christina Classical Competition via a video recording on Saturday 24 April. Just like last year, the final will be organized digitally this year because of the measures regarding the corona virus. Princess Margriet is a member of the Recommendation Committee of the Princess Christina Competition. About four hundred young musicians took part in the digital preliminary rounds of the Princess Christina Classical Competition. Seventeen participants were selected for the final in which they performed for ten minutes before a jury. These performances will be broadcast on April 21, 22 and 23. A day later, Princess Margriet will announce the prize winners in the categories 12-14 years, 15-19 years and conservatory students. The broadcasts can always be viewed at 20:00 via the website and social media of the Princess Christina Competition.
