The 2 times Eric realized he loved you and the 1 time he told you.
Tumblr media
Summary: Basically the title. The two times that Eric realized he loved the reader and the one time he finally admitted it.
Prince Eric Masterlist
THE FIRST TIME
You and Eric were on the beach near the shoreline. Lying down on the sand looking up at the stars, Eric showing you the constellations, you listening attentively.
"They're so beautiful," You said admiring the stars resting your hands on your stomach.
"They are, aren't they," he agreed but what you didn't know was he wasn't looking at the stars, he was too busy looking at you. You looked over at him, only to find him already looking at you, embarrassed he smiled at you shyly before looking back up at the stars.
You reached out to grab his hand intertwining your fingers with his. He looked over at you and smiled shyly before holding your hand tighter.
THE SECOND TIME
You and Eric were in his study. He was showing you some of the artifacts he brought back from his most recent voyage. Picking up a conch shell you brought it to your mouth and blew into it, making a clear and precise sound.
"Where'd you learn how to do that?" he asked smiling at you brightly.
"A magician never tells their secrets," you claimed smirking at him.
"Well good thing you're not a magician," he remarked taking the conch shell into his own hands. "Show me, please?" he begged.
"Alright fine," you rolled your eyes sarcastically. Deep known you were happy to help him. You put your hands over his showing him how to hold the shell. "Alright watch closely," you pointed at him sternly.
"Yes ma'am," he replied looking at you attentively. You puckered your lips slightly and blew, the Prince trying his best to replicate your actions but it was a little bit difficult when the only thing he could think about was how ridiculously cute you looked.
"Alright I think I got it," the prince claimed confidently. He put the conch shell up to his mouth and blew into it making the most horrible sound you've ever heard. The two of you looked at each other and immediately burst into a fit of laughter.
He looked into your eyes and you returned the gaze making a long moment of eye contact. You smiled at him softly before looking away flustered.
THE THIRD TIME
You and Eric were out at the village festival. Stopping by multiple merchant tables the Prince buying you pretty much everything you even glanced at.
"Eric stop it!" you laughed lightly at him as he bought you another bracelet. "We did not come here so that you could spend all your money on me."
"Hey, what's wrong with wanting to spoil my best friend every once in a while," he asked defensively.
“A lot actually,” you told him, “because I’m broke and I’m not going to be able to pay you back,” He shoved you gently in the shoulder as you two walked to another merchant table.
“You don’t have to pay me back Y/N,” he insisted as you two walked around. You suddenly heard music and grabbed Eric’s hand dragging him towards it. “Where are we going?” he asked as you dragged him.
“To dance,” you said. You watched for a few seconds in order to get the rythm down and suddenly joined in. Eric watching you in amazement as you danced along with several children.
He found himself being entranced by your smooth movements. He watched you carefully but his gazing was soon interrupted when you grabbed him and forced him to dance along with you.
He placed one hand on your waist and the other took your hand as you two danced. He caught himself staring at you, admiring your beauty. You swayed your hips to the music and Eric guided your movements with his hands.
He couldn’t stop himself from smiling at you. He spun you around and now your back was against his chest. The others around you threw sand up in the air and you two continued to dance until the music began to come to a stop.
———————————LATER THAT DAY-----------------------------
You and Eric were walking back to the palace but neither of you were quite ready to say goodbye.
“What if we go for a rowboat ride?” the Prince suggested.
“Won’t your mother be expecting you,” you asked him knowing how his mother can get.
“She doesn’t have to know,” he claimed, ”we can just sneak in."
“Alright fine,” you finally caved, ”but this is the last thing we’re doing today."
———————————— MINI TIME SKIP—————————————
The prince was rowing the boat backwards onto the lake. You watched the way he used the oars.
“You want to try?” he asked noticing the way you were watching.
“You know what, sure why not,” you shrugged. The prince motioned for you to come sit on his side of the boat. You attempted to stand up but the boat was rocking slightly causing you to fall down into Eric’s lap. You two looked at each other briefly before you moved to sit beside him.
You put your hands on the oars and Eric put his hands on top of yours helping to guide your movements. You smiled at him, finally getting the hang of it. The sun was setting in the background creating a beautiful scene.
You looked at the sky, almost mesmerized by the orange and pink horizon, Eric following your gaze. “Its beautiful,” you whispered and he nodded his head in agreement, not trusting himself to speak because the setting sun was shining on your face enhancing your beauty
Suddenly the sun set and the fireflies came out illuminating the sky. It was a beautiful scene. You and Eric suddenly felt the boat spinning in circles slowly. You looked down to see a large school of beautiful luminescent fish swimming around the boat.
Eric looked over the edge of the boat and was suddenly spat water at by one of the fish. He laughed lightly and you laughed with him before reaching out and wiping the water off of face with your thumb, somewhat carresing his face in the proccess.
The prince stopped laughing and looked at you as if he were frozen. He grabbed your hand from his face and lowered it before holding both of your hands in his.
“Y/N,” he began which would have made you worry in any other circumstance,”I love you.” You froze and he looked away embarrassed thinking you would say something bad and dropped your hands.
“Sorry,” he muttered quietly. "I dont know why I-“ he started but soon found himself not being able to speak. Your lips were on his, your hands gently cupping his face.
“I love you too, Eric” you smiled at him before kissing him again.
A/N: hope you guys love this. came up with this idea at three in the morning and had to quickly write it because i knew if i didnt i would forget in the morning.

said i'd have more to request and here's another one.
Prince Eric x Fem!Reader, we know Eric's love for the ocean.. so what if while he was a child around four. he saw a mermaid around the same age as him peek her head up from the ocean curiously.. to only quickly duck down when he saw them. the mermaid is y/n..
and a small friendship grew between the two in secret, eric promised to keep it a secret. eventually, y/n stopped appearing all of a sudden.. and eric eventually forgot about them.
until around the time the film takes place when he's 21..something seemed familiar about the girl who suddenly appeared and couldn't speak something about them just seemed so familiar.
A/N: I love your request much, thank you for sending them in, and sorry it took so long <3
His Little Mermaid : Prince Eric
Tumblr media
*21 years ago*
The human world had always fascinated you even if your parents forbid you from going up there. You had found a spot semi-below the surface where you could watch the passing ships and see the humans. One night they had been shooting off fireworks which piqued your curiosity so you peeked your head out to watch not realizing someone had seen you.
"Whoa. You do exist." The voice said making you turn and see a boy about your age sitting there looking at you.
Panicked that you had been spotted after your parents told you not to be up here, you ducked your head back down and swam away much to his disappointment. The next few weeks you couldn't get him out of your mind....so the next time you saw a ship you swam to the surface and hopped into one of the lifeboats looking for him.
"You came back!" He said as he looked through the bars of the ship.
"I did. I'm sorry for running off like that last time, I'm not used to many humans." You said to him.
"It's alright. My name is Eric. What's yours?" He asked you.
"It's y/n but you can't tell anyone about me, I could get in trouble for being here." You said to him.
"As your friend, I promise not to tell a soul. Wait right here." He left there confused as he ran off but returned a few seconds later.
"I want you to have this as a symbol of our friendship and my promise." He said handing you a small mermaid figure.
"This is beautiful, thank you." You said as you placed it in your bag.
From that moment on you would always look for his ship and whenever you would see it, you would swim up to it and talk to him as the years went on you started to fall for him. But then one day when you went up to surface level and never went back to it again after what had happened, you had hated to just leave Eric like that but it hurt too much to go back up there.
Eric searched far and wide for you wondering why you had stopped coming to the surface level until one day he had just accepted that you were gone and weren't coming back and so he went on with his life.
*PRESENT DAY*
You still thought about Eric all the time wanting to see him again but could never bring yourself to go back to the surface level.
"I can help you my dear. To be with your human boy." She said as you looked at her confused.
"I whip up a little potion that gives you legs in exchange for your voice and then you'll have three days to kiss him to remain human or you'll be mine forever." She said.
"Okay." You said still not believing that you were agreeing to this over a boy you haven't seen in 20 years.
"3 days or you are mine forever!" Ursula said and the last thing you remember was barely making it to shore.
"The prince will be here soon." One of the maids said giving you a smile.
You smiled hoping that he would remember you and when he walked though those doors, he was even more dreamy than you remembered.
"You can't talk?" He asked sadly as you shook your head.
"I'm sorry you just remind me of someone I once knew." He said as you looked at him sadly.
"You're welcomed to stay here as long as you need." He said leaving you as the smile disappeared from your face.
The next day he took you through markets and for a boat ride where you guys laid looking at the stars.
"I still don't know your name." He said looking at you.
"It's begins with first letter of your name?" He asked you asked nodded your head.
"Y/n." He said after going through a few as you nodded your head
"Your name is y/n? I used to know someone with that name." He said sadly as you squeezed his hand.
"You remind me a lot of her." He said with a smile.
"I'm right here." You wanted to say to him.
"Goodnight y/n." He said with a smile.
You and Eric spent the next three days together constantly. He showed you his collection of things from his trips and it made you sad sometimes to realize how much you missed him growing up. You thought that today was gonna be the day you told Eric everything that was until you saw him and her together. You are so stupid to think he could fall in love with you, you were leaning over the balcony when you heard something break making you see the new girl's necklace break and an orb float towards you.
"Y/n." Eric said wrapping his arms around you.
"Eric there is something so much I need to tell you..." you said watching as the sunset.
"Y/n!" He said holding you to him as your legs were turned into a tail.
"You're too late!" Ursula said with a laugh before snatching you out of Eric's arms and diving into the ocean.
You guys fought Ursula, rescued the king and you got Eric back to shore. You laid there with him enjoying this moment with tears in your eyes as you knew this would be the last time you saw him.
"Goodbye Eric." You said sadly as you swam back into the water.
"Y/n! Y/N!" He screamed looking around for you not believing you were gone again.
You sighed as leaned up on the rock looking up at the castle and the fact that once again Eric was gone. You were foolish to even think that you could be a part of his world and hated that you were gonna have to leave and forget about him again.
"She really does love him huh?" King Triton asked Sebastian as they watched you leaning on the rock looking up at the castle.
"She does sir, I think after everything she's had to endure that maybe she should have a chance at happiness." He said.
King Triton agreed and pointed his staff towards you giving you legs, which made you turn and look at him as he nodded his head before you ran up to the castle hoping Eric would talk to you.
"Y/N?" He asked shocked as you handed him the figure he had given you when you were children.
"It's been me this entire time." You said to him.
"I never saw you again. What happened?" He asked you again.
"I had gone up to shore thinking it was you except it wasn't and I got my parents killed because of it. They hunted mermaids and they were gonna killed me until my parents came, they rescued me and they paid the ultimate price for it. After that I never returned to the surface, feeling guilty for what had happened. I'm sorry." You said to him.
"Oh my...y/n I didn't know. I'm so sorry I honestly thought you got bored of me and didn't want to be my friend anymore." He said.
"No, it's not that. I thought about you constantly but could never come to the surface after it. But then I saw you again and next thing I know I'm trading my voice for legs just to have a chance with the boy I fell in love with all those years ago." You said with a smile.
"He would like to have a chance with you as well especially now that you have a voice. He would like to explore the waters with you." He said looking at you with a smile.
You leaned up and pressed a kiss to his lips, feeling him wrap his arms around you and pull you closer to him as he kissed you.

The ocean waves crashed against the side of the small ship, erupting in white seafoam and bubbles as the vessel journeys through the dark, deep waters to the newest destination. You held onto the thick, coarse rope, leaning off the edge, and letting the fresh, salty sea air blow through your hair as your booted feet planted firmly against the wooden beam of the ship's railing. You were coursing through wild uncharted waters, on the day of the Prince's birthday: your best friend, Eric. Eric had been your friend ever since you were both little children. You lived in the village near the castle and met Eric after he was adopted into the royal family.
You first met at the seaside, you remembered that day well and looked back upon it fondly; even after all these years. Your tiny feet in the wet, squishy sand, the surprisingly warm water lapping at your ankles, and the sound of a young boy laughing; giggling away, had gained your attention. You remembered turning, and seeing a small boy, no older than you at the time, with a flurry of raven black curls, barreling down the beach; a bright smile on his face. As a young child, you had never seen someone so excited to be at the beach. Then again, you guessed that the people in the village were used to the sights and beautiful smells of the seashore; you wondered if this boy had never seen the ocean before. Overall, it was nice. Seeing someone love the beach just as much as you.
Seeing that you were the only two children there, you both introduced yourselves and began playing with one another. And over the days and months, you two became great friends. Tossing rocks into the water to see who had the biggest splash, building lop-sided sand castles, and racing to the castle's kitchen; little Prince Eric always let you win. Even when Eric got his pup, Max, you both played with the dog, playing fetch until both you and the Prince were called home. And, as the years went on and on, the two of you got even closer.
No longer were you friends, but the most inseparable pair anyone had ever laid their eyes on. As young adults, when Eric was free to visit the village, he'd join you at the market, looking at fabrics, jewelry, and even homemade quilts. But, most of the time, just as you did as children, you would both spend time at the beach. You spent a lot of time there since it was both a place you and the Prince held so close to your hearts. The ocean breeze was calming, as were the sounds of the crashing waters against the harsh rocks. There, you both spoke of your day, life in general, and your dreams. There was hardly a time when you and Eric weren't by each other's side. Only when Eric was needed at the castle, his home away from the shore, for whatever princely duties, did you part.
And although both of your lives seemed to be full of sunshine and rainbows, that was far from the fact. You and Eric both had your fair share of hardships. He, Eric, wanted to be free of life inside the castle walls. Eric longed for adventure, sailing the beautiful seven seas, and filling his office with more treasure he had found along the way. And you, you wanted to get away from the village, similar to Eric. And like Eric, you wanted to go on daring adventures, go away to far-off places, and see the world. But, it was hard when you had to stay and take care of your ill grandmother. She was old and frail, and you had to watch over her when your mother had to go off to work. You loved your family deeply, but you wanted to chase that freedom that blew swiftly and sweetly in the salty sea air.
But, to add salt to the wound, you had a secret. You were in love. You were in love with your best friend. Originally, you were overjoyed. The amazing feeling of love overflowed throughout your entire body and soul as you realized that you were indeed in love with Eric. You loved when he ran a hand through his hair, trying to fix it when the wind blew against it, getting into his vision. You loved the ways his eyes lit up with deep fondness as he stared off at the sea or spoke about the newest treasure he had found. You loved his voice, beautiful and soft when he would hum or sing a song under his breath. He was entirely perfect.
Though, you had an inkling that the love you had for him was always there, simmering and sizzling below the surface. Though, as some time went on, you realized that your love could never be. He was a Prince, and you were just the daughter of a seamstress. It deeply saddened you, knowing that there was no chance that you could spend the rest of your days with the man you loved. But, you dreamed and you wished upon the great, shining stars in the sky that one day you and Eric could live happily ever after. Or at least, you could be in his life in any way, just being by his side is all you could ask for. But, you were selfish, and you often let your daydreams wander and think about the ‘what ifs.’ What if Eric felt the same about you? Maybe it was all your insecurities talking.
"Beautiful day, huh?" You heard the familiar soft voice, instantly allowing a smile to grace your features.
Turning your gaze away from the blue sea, your eyes landed on the soft brown eyes of your Eric, "Yes," You sighed softly, "The perfect day for someone's birthday..." You lightly teased, watching with a certain admiration as the dimples of Eric's cheeks deepened and his smile grew.
The man before you nodded, looking briefly at the wooden floorboards of the ship before looking back up at you. He, too, had a dilemma. It wasn't the fact that his mother was probably worried that he went off sailing again when she begged him not to, nor was it the seemingly gray and gloomy-looking clouds that speckled the sky. No... Eric was completely enchanted by you.
Looking up at you as you held on tightly to the rope, staring off at the sea; Eric stood simply in awe as the slowly setting sun gleamed against your soft skin. You looked stunningly beautiful, as always, the carefree smile that he adored on your face making him grin. You were truly breathtaking, a goddess among men; he could just stare at you forever.
Really, it was only a matter of time before the two of you fell in love with one another, as said in the words of your mother. But, somehow, no matter how long you've known each other, you both were incredibly oblivious to each other's feelings. Even though you had a knack for telling what Eric was thinking, and Eric had a few tricks in finding out when you were lying, you both were totally clueless about each other's feelings.
As if sensing the intensity of Eric's gaze, you turned your head once more. Tilting your head slightly to the side, you stared down at Eric, a small smile growing on your face. You couldn't help but admire the man before you, your eyes raking across his lean and sturdy figure; from his brown leather boots to the dark ruffled curls upon his head. He was truly a handsome sight.
"Well," Eric began, voice slightly breathless before he cleared his throat, his eyes shifting slightly from the tingling of nerves that flowed through him, "I came to see if you'd be joining in the festivities, or staying up there?" He asked, only to watch as you hopped down from the railing, your boots landing on the wooden floorboards with a thud.
Smiling up at him, you shrugged your shoulders, "I wouldn't dare miss out on it, Eric. After all, I heard there was going to be fireworks." You answered, following Eric as you headed to the other side of the ship where most of the crew were setting up for the party.
Eric mirrored your smile, looking down at you as he gently took your hand in his, "Thank you for being here beside me." His voice was gentle, yet sincere as his eyes locked with yours. You felt your cheeks heat up, your heart fluttering wildly in your chest, and your stomach twisting into knots as he gazed at you.
Shrugging your shoulders once again, you smiled sheepishly up at him, "Absolutely, Eric. Anything for you."
~~~
The fireworks lit up the sky in purples, reds, and blues, creating a brilliant display of bright colors. The loud booms of the explosions echoed throughout the sea and air, almost drowning out the cheers of the crowd on the deck. However, you were not paying any mind to the beautiful lights above, your eyes and mind were on the Prince on the deck, laughing and fooling around with his crewmates and friends. You watched as they hoisted Eric into the air, some singing a bright, cheerful tune as others drank away on their mead. You admired your best friend from above, his dog Max beside you, keeping you company; his warm fur grounding you.
The sky was a dark blue, the sun had long since set and as the night continued, the sky slowly littered with stars. It had been a long, lovely day. Pushing off the railing, you wandered over to the side of the ship, taking your time to stare up at the sky, gazing at the twinkling stars as the firework show finally ended. The moon shone brightly, illuminating the waves below. You breathed in deeply, sighing contently before you heard the sound of boots against the stairs of the ship, not even bothering to turn; you knew who now stood beside you.
It was calming, looking up at the night sky with Eric. He said nothing, falling into the peaceful silence with you. Though, you began to feel jittery, almost nervous as you glanced over at him. The moonlight shone down upon him with white angelic rays, highlighting his beautiful side profile. Your heart swelled, loving every single aspect of him, whether it was the curve of his lips, or his dark eyelashes that fluttered against his cheekbones every time he blinked.
"What did you wish for?" You asked abruptly, but yet softly, gaining the Prince's attention as he raised an eyebrow your way.
"What did I wish for?" He asked in return, only for you to nod your head before looking back at the sky before you. Eric took a moment to gaze at you, watching as the light of the lanterns on the ship cast soft shadows upon your form, giving you a certain glow. He let out a small breath, eyes and mind taking in the woman before him. Oh, how beautiful you looked in the moonlight. As if hearing his thoughts, you turned once more, meeting his gaze. You offered him a small smile, which he returned almost nervously. Placing one of his hands over yours, holding onto it, your touch anchored him. Caressing it gently with the soft pad of his thumb, he turned back to the sky, "I wish that tonight could last forever." He muttered softly, thoughtfully before turning to look down at you. "But I don't think I should've told you. Hearing that voicing your wishes out loud can cause them to never come true." He gave you a small charming smile, one that never failed to make your heart race.
You smiled, nodding as you slid a bit closer to the Prince, your shoulder brushing up against his arm. "Either way, your wish sounds wonderful."
Eric turned down to look at you once more, his eyes meeting yours, causing him to lose focus momentarily. His Adam's apple bobbing slightly as he swallowed thickly. He inhaled sharply through his nose as his eyes scanned your features, noting how you had gotten a new freckle upon the apple of your left cheek; probably from the almost constant sun no doubt, and the way that you slowly turned your hand you intertwined your fingers with his sent tingles throughout his arm. If Eric hadn't known any better, he would've thought he was about to confess his feelings for you. And maybe he was. Opening his mouth, Eric was just about to say your name, when there was a loud shout from the deck.
"Fire!" A voice called from the deck, "Fire!"
Eric's eyes widened as he quickly made his way down the stairs, almost tripping over his feet. Some of the crew members were trying to put out the flames, but they weren't quick enough and before Eric knew it, the whole ship was engulfed in flames, burning the wooden deck and burning down to the bottom of the ship to the top of the masts. People screamed, shouted, and ran for the lifeboats, dropping them down into the dark depths of the ocean below. Eric cursed silently as he jumped into action; he quickly ran to the edge of the railing, ready to jump in when he heard a bark.
Looking up and over to where he had previously been, he watched as Max became trapped, fire flickering and flaming around him. Eric rushed around fallen beams, climbing up the stairs and grabbing Max before tossing him into the water; carefully watching as Max made it to one of the lifeboats. Panic filled him just as the smoke filled his lungs, Eric looked around the burning ship, his eyes tearing up slightly as the flames grew higher and higher; where were you?
"Eric!" He heard your voice, turning abruptly and tightly clutching the side of the ship to see you in one of the lifeboats. Eric felt the tightness in his chest lessen slightly, seeing you safe, but, before he could try and do anything, a loud explosion knocked him against the beam; causing him to fall back into the water below.
You leaned forward, the lifeboat wobbling slightly as you watched as Eric fell from the ship and into the water. Not seeing him rise to the surface, you threw yourself into the ocean, ignoring the cries from the crewmates. Holding your breath, the salt water burned your eyes as you swam further down, finally spotting Eric's silhouette. Pushing yourself further down, your legs and arms ached as you finally reached the unconscious Eric. Wrapping your arms around his waist, you used all of the rest of your strength to swim back up to the surface, your lungs begging and crying out for fresh air as you swam up and finally broke through the surface.
You let out a large breath, coughing as you readjusted your hold on Eric, making sure his head was above the water as you looked around, the ship was far behind you and there were no lifeboats in sight. Trying not to panic, you could see the faint streetlights from the island only a bit away from you. Swimming with all your might, your body ran on the adrenaline that flowed through your blood, pushing the fear and anxiety away as you slowly but surely got to land.
The rising sun began to shine over you, warming your chilled skin as you dragged Eric towards the nearest beach. You stumbled upon the sand first, pulling Eric with you as you crawled onto the ground. Chest heaving with heavy breaths, you laid Eric onto the warm sand, raising your hand up to brush his wet curls from his face before checking his neck for a pulse. You let out a sigh of relief as you felt the soft thump beneath your fingertips, finally letting yourself rest and calm, knowing that Eric was alive and safe.
Raising your hand, you placed it on Eric's cheek, wiping off the sand before you lightly tapped him, "Eric, Eric, can you hear me?" You asked, trying to wake him, watching in anticipation as his eyelids flickered and he lightly groaned.
Slowly opening his eyes, he squinted them, taking in his surroundings before focusing them on the silhouette above him, "Y/N?" He asked, voice deep and hoarse as he blinked a few times before finally getting his vision back into focus; his brown eyes looking up into yours.
You let out a breathy sigh, your hand still resting on his cheek, "Thank God you're okay. Well, minus the small cut on your head there, do you have a concussion?” You abruptly asked, seeing as his eyes seemed fine, you let out a sigh, “I… I don’t know what I - I thought I lost..." You stuttered and then trailed off, you couldn't finish that sentence, closing your eyes briefly and taking another breath, "I'm so glad that you're alright." You finished weakly, the front of your teeth coming out to pull at the corner of your bottom lip. Eric blinked again, trying to calm his soaring heart; he didn't know if his almost drowning was the cause of his racing heart, or you above him, your voice and touch so soothing and calming.
His own lips parted slightly, his mouth dry as he tried to speak, "You saved me," He murmured, not caring about the slight twinge of pain that burned his throat, and how tired he felt, "Thank you, Y/N," His lips curved upward, his voice gentle as he spoke.
Your eyes closed, a soft smile crossing your lips as he moved his hand up to your cheek, the tips of his fingers brushing through your wet hair. "It's no problem, Your Highness," You lightly teased before your voice softened, "I don't know what I'd do without you." Your words caused his heart to soar, a surge of emotions running through his veins like electricity.
"You're not hurt, are you?" Eric asked, his eyebrows raising slightly with concern as his eyes raked over your face for any cuts or bruises, but you just shook your head.
Opening your eyes, you could only smile, "No, no, I'm fine, Eric. Just a bit out of breath is all." A laugh escaped your lips, shaking your head lightly as you watched him, admiring the man in front of you.
He seemed almost relieved as he nodded, relaxing. "Good." He said before moving his hand, the backs of his fingers brushing against your cheek. "When I was on that ship, and I couldn't find you... I was scared," He added after a minute, his thumb rubbing against your cheekbone gently. Your eyes drifted shut at the feeling of his touch, unable to stop yourself from leaning into his hand. His touch was so tender, so sweet. It sent shivers throughout your entire body as his hand continued to rub up and down your cheek; his touch sending little jolts through every cell in your body. "I was worried I'd never get to tell you how I feel."
Eric felt his chest tighten again as he watched your eyes open, the same curiosity held in them that Eric admired, "What do you mean?" You then asked, voice no louder than a mutter as Eric moved to sit up before speaking; one hand propping himself up and the other falling from your cheek and onto his lap.
"I don't know how to explain this... Well... I don't really have a word for it... I just... Know that my feelings for you go beyond friendship. I've never felt this strongly for anyone in my life. All I ever think about is you..." Eric replied quietly, his hand holding himself up digging into the rough sand below him.
You blinked, your stomach erupting into butterflies at his confession, "Really? Are you sure you're not concussed?" You breathed out, your mind racing as the ocean waves crashed gently upon the shore behind you, merely inches from touching you; but at Eric nod, you let out a shallow breath, "That’s… Nice…" You began, swallowing thickly, "Because, uhm, I- I feel the same, ever since we were children," You whispered, flushing lightly as Eric's eyes instantly snapped up to meet yours. "I cannot get over you."
"Wait, what? Really?" Eric questioned, completely shocked that you felt the exact same way as he did. The surprise and absolute joy he was feeling seemed to distract him from his fatigue and possible pain. His eyes widening similar to yours as you nodded, feeling your cheeks burning; both your hearts pounding and racing.
"Yes, of course," You said softly, smiling sheepishly as you looked down, "But I wanted to make sure that I wasn't reading too much into things because I'm not an expert in romance or anything. But I'm pretty sure that you're the love of my life," You chuckled lightly, cringing lightly from your chosen words, your eyes glimmering. "No matter how sappy or cliche that sounds now that I've said it," You continued, feeling a bit nervous as you took in the expression on Eric's face.
Eric smiled widely, his eyes crinkling at the corners, and those adorable dimples on full show as his hands rested on his knees, "Oh no, that was very cheesy." He chuckled lightly before leaning forward a bit, his fingers coming up to brush the stray speckles of sand from your cheek and temple, your cheek tingling at the simple touch. "And I think you're right about the whole 'too sappy' thing too." His eyes flashed with amusement, his thumb running along your jawline, and leaving behind a trail of goosebumps in its place.
"You just love to tease me," You muttered, rolling your eyes slightly before shifting your gaze, a light flush appearing on your cheeks as you leaned into his touch once more.
"Maybe," Eric replied softly, reaching out to tuck your damp hair behind your ear. "May I... May I kiss you?" He asked, his eyes holding a hint of uncertainty and worry.
You looked back up at him, your hand slowly clenched around the sand at your fingertips, the course and dry sand softly scratching at your palm. Eric's brown eyes drew you in, the small specks of gold shining under the bright morning sun. You slowly nodded your head, your eyes flickering between his brown ones before they closed as you felt Eric lean closer toward you. Your heart pounded hard against your chest as you felt his warm breath fan across your face, his hand cupping your cheek once more as his lips brushed against yours in a sweet, fleeting kiss before going in and claiming your mouth with his in a passionate kiss.
Your lips parted slightly at the sensation, your hands quickly reaching up to tangle themselves into Eric's soft, black curls. The taste of salt lingered on your lips, causing his heart to race even faster as he held you in his arms. The two sat in bliss before you both pulled away, both your faces flushed as you looked at each other. Your heart goes a million miles a minute as you let out a carefree and joyful laugh, making Eric smile at the pure sound of it.
Eric couldn't help but sigh softly, his eyes narrowing lazily as he gazed at you, goosebumps rising on the back of his neck as your fingers gently raked through the hair there, sending chills down his spine and a warm feeling flowing through his veins. The warmth he felt was nothing compared to the one he felt when he was near you; the warmth you gave him made him feel safe and secure; you had such a calming effect on him. Like the open sea, you always had the ability to wash away the worries in his mind, to bring him peace and tranquility.
Eric watched in a sort of awe, watching as the sun shined over you, lighting up your skin in a golden glow; the blue sky reflecting beautifully within your eyes as your long lashes fluttered against your cheeks. He knew that he loved you since the day he met you, that's for sure.
"Eric," You called to him, gaining his attention as you gestured to a few of the members of the castle coming down the stone and grassy walkway, all looking panicked as they rushed toward the beach where the two of you were sitting. Eric furrowed his brows in confusion, his eyes widening when he saw Sir Grimsby approaching, Max the dog in tow. He glanced between you and the others, noticing that they were all looking at the both of you, worry written across their features.
"Your Highness! What happened?" Sir Grimsby asked, coming over to help the Prince up, "You've been gone all night, we heard about the ship sinking!"
Eric just smiled, albeit a bit bashfully as he turned and offered you his hand, helping you up from the sandy beach, your feet sinking slightly into the wet sand as he pulled you close to him, his hand intertwining with yours as he spoke, "Yes, well, Y/N saved me... So, we're all good." He spoke, giving you a glance as Max came bounding over, his sandy paws landing on your legs as you ran your fingers through his fur with a smile.
Sir Grimsby sighed deeply, running a hand down his face in exhaustion as he gestured for you and the Prince to follow, muttering to himself, "I swear, if he keeps being reckless like this-" He cut himself off as he realized that Eric was holding onto your hand. He cleared his throat and pointedly ignored Eric's gaze, as he led the two of you towards the castle.
"I don't think your mother's going to be too happy to hear about this." You whispered to him, causing Eric to chuckle softly as he squeezed your hand comfortingly.
"Probably not, but she'll get over it..." He answered with a slight shrug, "She can't keep me away from the ocean forever."
You nodded, slightly swinging your arms together as you spotted the castle before you, "We may have to take a break from sailing for a little while," You told him, a small teasing lilt to your tone.
Eric grinned playfully at the thought, "I wouldn't mind," He replied, "As long as I am with you," He trailed off, turning his head slightly toward you.
Your heart melted at his words, his gaze lingering on you as his lips curved into a gentle smile. "I'll be here beside you." You mumbled quietly, your own lips tugging into a smile as you squeezed his hand tightly in return.
Eric matched your smile, his eyes gazing down into yours as he raised your hand, pressing his lips gently to your knuckles as the world around you both slowly floated away, disappearing beneath the calm waves.
"Your Highness!" A voice yelled, pulling you and Eric out of your own little bubble, the Prince before you turned to the voice that called down to the both of you.
"Coming, Grimsby!" Eric called up to him before he turned to look back down at you.
A small mischievous smirk graced your beautiful face, raising your other hand, gently pressing your finger upon his nose before letting go of his hand and walking backward towards the castle, "Last one to the kitchens is a rotten egg!"
Eric let out an amused huff, his own lips curling into a smirk before he ran up alongside you, unable to stop the laughter from flowing out of him as he let you win, just as he did when you were both children.
I love your fics and I saw you wanted ideas so here I am. I thought maybe you could do a Taylor inspired fic for Laurie with Love Story maybe with like a ball or something?
ooohh! yes! I’ve been waiting on a laurie fic request for a while now!
maybe with another march sister reader??
(tumblr deleted my first draft so i have to re-write!)
LOVE STORY (INSPIRED BY THE TAYLOR SWIFT SONG “LOVE STORY”!)
laurie laurence x march sister (fem) reader!
Tumblr media
description - you have been friends with laurie (along with your sisters) since his mother passed away. laurie was the lonely boy who was living with old mr laurence who lived opposite the march house, and ever since he started hanging around with you and your sisters, you’ve started to have feelings for him. six years later, you are travelling around europe with aunt march as her companion whilst you are studying and completing your acting classes. you and aunt march are invited to a ball in paris and someone in particular is on the list for you to dance with for the night! - i tried to make it similar to amy and laurie’s story but the reader wanting to be an actress rather than an artist like amy!
you’ve always loved laurie. always.
even when he had feelings for one of your older sisters josephine (or jo).
you’d be the one sitting aside, especially during your eldest sister meg’s wedding, while you watch jo and laurie dance. amy would reassure you that you’d be okay as you sit with her and beth (as she continued to struggle slightly from trying to get better from scarlet fever).
when beth got scarlet fever, laurie was always around for you. when you found out about it, jo and meg told you to stay with aunt march until beth is well again.
“i don’t want to say with aunt march! id rather catch scarlet fever than stay with her, the poodle and the parrot!” you’d wine as you put your head between the pillows of the couch while laurie would insist for you to stay with aunt march.
he was very persuasive, but in a kind way.
he wouldn’t tell you to do something if you didn’t want to. but this was serious. the spread of scarlet fever was serious. it wasn’t a joke anymore. you just about understood that.
laurie told you he’d come and see you, and you suggested for him to bring either the carriage or the phaeton, which he did, just to make you happy.
whenever laurie came to see you, you’d be dancing dramatically (as you would usually) wearing aunt march’s feathered things. you’d smile at him when you realise he’s been standing at the doorframe of the room watching you.
you’d show him things such as aunt march’s wedding ring (which you told him that she was too fat to wear anymore - he’d snigger at you quietly when you said this), the golden bracelet that was for the only child she ever had (until it died unfortunately…) or perhaps anything else you had found amongst aunt march’s house while she was napping.
you would show laurie the will you’ve written, since you thought you’d be the next to die to scarlet fever. laurie sat with you in confusion.
“from y/n m/n march, this is her will and testament for those that may die after her,” laurie read, “for my sister jo, i give her my..”
in this case the list went on.. and on..
laurie looked at you, “y/n.. you’re not going to die! you’re not even sick!” he tells you, trying to reassure you that you were going to be fine.
then you look across to him, and slump down next to him, “i know.. it’s just a precaution! i will some day.. we all do!” you tell him.
there’s a silence between the two of you. then you finally pluck up the confidence to ask laurie to write something else on your will.
“laurie? i have one more thing for you to add?” you ask him, “i want all my curls cut off to all the men who had loved me!”
you seem a little dramatic, but laurie laughs at you slightly and quickly scribbles it down on the will for you.
“if you want to look horrific in your coffin, y/n, go ahead!” laurie tells you, laughing as he finishes writing your comment on the will.
TIME SKIP -
it had been a year since and you had been travelling around europe with aunt march as her companion, while you completed and studied your acting classes.
you and aunt march were set to attend a ball in paris! you had changed a lot since you left home so aunt march suggested that you should start looking towards marriage now that you are properly of age now.
you had met a man named fred vaughn back a few years ago (he’s a friend of laurie’s) on the lake one summer. aunt march suggested for the two of you to marry, but you were unsure, and you thought that you wanted to make your own match.
you arrived at the ball venue in paris. you looked stunning. one of the best dressed probably..
as you entered the venue, you were given a card which included 6 men that wanted to dance with you for the evening.
you glanced at the names on the card briefly (except for the first - which you headed to first).
gregory lance - the first gentleman on the list. wants to dance “the saraband” with you. so you headed towards him for the dance.
as you quickly got through each dance, you finished your fifth finally. you said goodbye to david molesey - who was your fifth dancer, and looked down to your card again to find your sixth and last dance of the night.
you looked down to spot a familiar name on your card.
‘6. theodore laurence - lancers’
you smile and start to look for laurie, not realising that he was already staring at you from the doorframe of the room.
you smile at him and you decide to meet each other half way.
you hug him straight away, trying not to let you or laurie ruin your look of the night. “laurie! what are you doing here? i thought you were in london with your grandfather!” you said, smiling at him.
he smiles at you, completely in awe of you of how beautiful you look, “well.. i guess i am needed here just incase you need anything, y/n march!” he said, “and you look so beautiful! i almost didn’t recognise you!”
you blush a little and slap his arm softly, “yeah yeah.. what have you been up to, laurie?” you ask him, “anymore of the gambling and the drinking?”
he laughs slightly, “no.. no.. none of that recently, y/n!” he tells you, then you remember something that didn’t do laurie any good recently.
“im so sorry jo turned you down, laurie.. im so sorry.” you tell him, looking at him, making sure he’s okay.
laurie looks back up at you, “don’t worry.. im not..” he said to you, smiling at you and taking in the view of you, then he remembered that you both have a dance together, “miss march? may i have this dance?”
laurie takes your hand in his, leading you to the middle of the room to start the dance. you nod at him, “one often does at a ball, laurie laurence..” you tell him, giggling at him a little.
he smiles at you, as you both walk and start the dance. the dance has become more easier for you both.
you remember when you were younger, probably about five years ago, you and laurie were stood in the laurence house dancing. beth was playing the piano, meg was constantly flirting with mr brooke and jo and amy were giggling at you two while we continued to step on each others feet as you both danced.
oddly it was the same dance that were to start dancing at the ball just then. it was a familiar feeling that you hadn’t seen or talked of in a long while. the nostalgia rushed back to you both immediately.
it felt just right.
as the music and the dance stopped, there was a sense of something between you two.
you invited laurie to talk with aunt march and a few others. a lot of aunt march’s friends thought you and laurie were married!
you just shut your mouth and didn’t say much after that.
MINI TIME SKIP -
you decided to have a break and walk outside to get some air on the balcony. it was getting slightly too warm in the building so it was good to escape for a few minutes.
you didn’t notice laurie behind you, so it shocked you for a moment.
“y/n? are you alright?” he asked you, finally catching up with you and standing next to you on the balcony.
you smile up at him, “yes.. yes.. im fine.. i just needed some air..” you tell him.
you notice two boats on the ocean near to the venue, as you both stood on the balcony. the boats were close together. laurie caught you looking at them, and swiftly looked back at you to admire you.
“those boats are pretty close together.. as if they are on the same path..” you mumble to him.
laurie smiles and takes your hand in his. this gets you to look up at him. “y/n.. are we on the same path?” he asks you.
you suddenly look from the boats to laurie, who had now taken your hand in his. you looked into his eyes. you both knew exactly what you wanted.
“i guess we are, laurie…” you finally admit, as you start smiling at him.
you both stand and admire each other for a couple of seconds, then laurie begins to hold your waist, now leaning into you slowly.
as you both continue to stand on the balcony, you and laurie lean in together for a slow but passionate kiss.
you bring your hand to his cheek, and continue to kiss. the two of you felt alive at this point. more alive than you both have ever felt, ever.
you knew you should’ve told him how you felt years ago, although laurie was in love with jo at the time. gladly, you didn’t think that was the case anymore.
laurie loved you. and you only.
you loved laurie. and laurie only.
you both moved away from the kiss, laughing and sniggering still as if you were still children. you both knew that you weren’t children anymore, since time and your childhoods have gone so fast, and you both had nothing you could do to change that.
you were just happy in the moment. the moment you were continuously picturing for years. you never thought it would ever happen, but here you both were. in that moment together.
you notice something different about him that you didn’t see before.
“laurie. you grew out your hair!” you say, playing with it a little.
laurie laughs at you slightly, “i guess you could care for it?” he says, now looking at you.
you smile at him happily, “always, laurie… always!” you say, kissing his cheek.
suddenly someone with a letter on a tray walks to you and laurie. you pick it up swiftly and open it, making sure laurie stands by you though it, as you think the letter could be what you think it could be.
you read the letter. you were right.
you stand next to laurie and sob into his arms.
“it’s beth…” you say as you put your head into his chest, letting laurie hold you.
you let laurie read the letter. it’s from marmee, clarifying beth’s death.
you weren’t as close to beth as jo was to her. but you did have your fun times. especially that same moment when you, laurie and your sisters were in laurence house together, as beth played the piano while you and laurie would attempt to dance but instead you’d be treading on each others feet.
although you and beth weren’t as close as her and jo were, she still was your sister.
it was as if you planned out her death, as if you planned out your own with the will you wrote and told laurie about a few years ago.
MINI TIME SKIP -
it took you a couple of days to get through beth’s death. you were still in paris, you told marmee you’d come home as soon as possible.
you had a mix of feelings about what could be happening between you and laurie and thoughts of beth, and the fact that you weren’t there to support her when she was dying.
you stood on the balcony of the home you were staying in with aunt march. aunt march wasn’t doing so great herself either. she was falling ill now.
laurie came to see you that same day. he wanted to talk about the relationship you had but he was unsure whether you were okay to talk about it after hearing about beth’s passing.
“i keep remembering that will i wrote when beth had scarlet fever..” you remind laurie, as you both stand together.
“you bequeathed me a plaster horse, if i remember correctly.” laurie thought, as he looked at you.
“i had my death all planned out.. all rehearsed in my mind…” you say, trying not to cry, “i had beth’s all rehearsed and ready too… thought it would.. tear me open.. or burn me down like a house. but now im just frozen!”
laurie took your hand in his again. “ill come and see you everyday, y/n…” he says, admiring you but also making sure that you’re okay.
you look up at him, slowly twiddling your thumb with his, “promise me?” you ask.
he looks at you again, watching you twiddling your thumb with his, “yes.” laurie told you, now reaching into his pocket for something.
you wonder what he was looking for, so you decided to look out at the view from the castle balcony.
it took him a few seconds to find what he was looking for. he brought a black box from his pocket, and showed it to you.
you turned back to him and looked at the box. you were stunned.
“so.. y/n.. could we make it last forever?” he said, opening the box to reveal the engagement ring inside.
you were taken by surprise that laurie wants to marry you. you smile widely, and nod at him, letting him put the ring on your finger confirming your engagement.
MINI TIME SKIP -
you and laurie were on their way home from your long trip around europe with aunt march. aunt march had briefly found out about your engagement to laurie before passing out, and being taken home with aunt carrol and her daughter florence, who had been your other company before laurie arrived.
as soon as you arrived home, laurie helped you out of the carriage to find meg, marmee, father, amy, and jo (slowly) running out to greet you both.
marmee (with her good eye) noticed a ring on your finger. funnily enough, it wasn’t the same ring that laurie gave you a few days ago. it wasn’t the engagement ring.
you smiled down at the ring, and then looked back up at laurie.
“that’s not an engagement ring!” marmee says, realising something.
you and laurie smile at each other as you notice marmee admiring your ring.
“it’s a wedding ring!” marmee says, pulling you into a large hug and kissing you on the cheek, while father shakes laurie’s hand to congratulate us both, and to thank him for marrying you.
you smile at your mother again. “i cant quite get my glove over it!” you laugh, then moving to laurie to give your ‘husband’ a kiss on the cheek.
MINI TIME SKIP -
the hustle and bustle around the march house after yours and laurie’s return and the surprise of your marriage spread amongst the house. especially to mr laurence (laurie’s grandfather), who had told him to go abroad after jo turned him down.
you were happy. both of you were.
turns out that jo was falling in love with the professor she met at the boarding house in New York. she arrived home a week after yours and laurie’s return after being out in town and the professor was waiting for her.
you knew she was in love with him. jo knew you had always been in love with laurie.
you kindly persuaded jo to tell professor bhaer how she felt about him, and from soon after that, all your sisters and yourself were in love.
you all sat together, you and laurie at the piano as laurie played and you rested your head on his shoulder, meg and john with kitty and minnie, marmee and father and finally jo and bhaer.
it just fitted together so perfectly.
please don’t copy my work! <3
(let me know what you think of this fic by giving this post a like, follow and a comment!)
Jonah Hauer King fanfiction:
No warnings, just a little fluff, and mentions of burning buildings
Jonah observed as his university campus was completely consumed by flames. The fire was flowing out of the building through several holes, giving the impression that a fire-breathing dragon was inside the house, puffing away vicariously. The roof, doors, and windows were all on fire. Jonah observed numerous firefighters attempting to put out the fire as the flames flared bright red and amber, nearly a livid purple.
In no time, the flames had spread to the rest of the building. It was a great sight for the crowds, (who were kept back by their professors), lined up one behind the other, in the fire assembly area.
But even throughout all this hecticness, there was only one thing playing on his mind, knocking him sick to his stomach- y/n.
Where is she?
Is she okay?
Did she make it out on time?
What about their dogs?
His eyes dart frantically around him, the sounds of his friends talking to him blend in with the background noises and the sound of crackling fire.
"Are you okay man?" Alec asks with a hand on his shoulder?
He was certain that everyone in the room could hear his brain spinning and his heart racing at hundreds of thousands of miles per hour against his chest. It almost sounded like thunder on a stormy night.
And just when he thought his heart would burst, he caught a glimpse of a beautiful girl in the distance—better yet, it was his beautiful girl.
Y/n.
"Y/n" he calls, wided eyed, in a desperate, rushed voice.
"Babygirl, I was so worried about you" pulling her closer with his large hands and bringing her into a tight hug as he reached her from the other side of the building.
Tumblr media
"Yeah?" Looping her arms around his body, letting his hands go under her shirt to rub her hips and bury his face into her neck.
His body vibrates in response to her words on his chest, sending butterflies through his entire body. Fluttering butterflies, that never seem to end.
He leans closer to her to help maintain his balance, as the hairs on his chest spring up and his legs start to give in.
"I'm fine, I promise, I just couldn't leave them behind", looking down at the two dogs that had become the best of friends.
"I know", he smiles as they both lean down to pet their dogs and then turns to face his and her friends, who are all giving each other perplexed looks.
They were unaware of the intimacy between the two.
Sneaking around wasn't their intention- It's simply how events transpired and how the pages of their story turned out.
Jonah and y/n met in their second year of their doctors residency, when they both coincidentally tried to sneak their dogs into the "on call room" instead of leaving them at home, all alone.
Jonah claims that their meeting was fate because, after all, no one would have given the two of them together a second thought given that he was a well-liked and well-known guy, where as Y/N prefers to keep her circle small.
They began by exchanging numbers and pulling the disappearing act on each of their friends on breaks, to hang out with each other and walk their dogs in secret; away from campus grounds so no professors would find out that they'd been sneaking their dogs into their place of education.
Y/n was hesitant at first, given his social status, but slowly started to let him knock her walls down. And with time, she eventually learnt that Jonah was not the ordinary popular guy you'd usually see around. Instead, he was a beautiful, brown headed, friendly giant with a pure heart and a lot of love to give.
They fell for each other hard.
Jonah broke out of his trance when heard and saw a guy with a medical box by his side. The name tag on his uniform, reading 'Captain Bobby Nash'.
"I'm sorry son, we need to get her checked out, she inhaled a lot of smoke"
Jonah looked at her worryingly, looking between her and the paramedics that have just arrived on scene.
"It's okay, don't worry about me.
Here, take our dogs. I think we have more things to worry about" nodding her head a few times towards the professor who's currently got a mixture of relief and rage in his eyes when he notices the two dogs now standing by Jonah's side.
"Shit".
"Let's go now please" Bobby says, admiring the couple.
Their friends watch Jonah as he talks to his professor and y/n disappears once again.
They attempt to listen in but are unable to hear anything, understanding that their friends are likely in serious trouble. However, after a few minutes, when they see Jonah shaking his hand, and the professor leaning down to pat the dogs on the head, they have a gut feeling everything's going to be alright.
Jonah is pulled to the side by dogs, towards the paramedics assessing Y/N.
"Woah buddy, easy there" a guy with a quiff type hair style and birth mark on his forehead says when the dogs come up from behind him, startling him and his friend Eddie, who stands next to him.
The paramedic gives Jonah a blanket, which he wraps around himself and his girlfriend before kissing the top of her head.
"Are you okay baby, everything good?"
"Yes" she turns her neck towards him and smiles.
"Good, we should probably get the dogs checked out too" gently stroking her cheek.
"I've already checked them out, Dexter is fine, but Bella burnt her paw but I've cleaned it and I'll make sure it doesn't get infected"
He murmurs, "My perfect little vet," against her lips and then kisses her.
Tumblr media
"Let's go yeah?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jonah's hands caresses and squeezes her thighs, smoothing up her sides and her arms. His index finger hooks under her chin as he pulls her impossibly closer. his eyes are locked on hers, and he's staring into her eyes whilst biting his lip.
Her heart flutters and the butterflies in both of their stomachs are constant. Her cheeks are all hot and she's tripping over her words as she tries to focus, but his gorgeous eyes have her hooked, reeling her in and never letting her go.
"I love you" he confesses.
"Hmm?" Tilting her head as the corner of her lips turn upwards and her pupils dilate further.
"I said I love you", kissing her lips.
"I love you too Jonah".
He smiles as he kisses her lips again- harder this time, then her cheek, her other cheek, her forehead, the tip of her nose, and her chin.
He's smiling against her skin as he watches her fall back onto the bed, inside their perfect little beach house they bought last summer, to escape from reality and be eachothers company.
The two dogs wake them up in the morning and nuzzle them to get out of bed whilst they are still tangled in the sheets and entwined in each other's arms.
They might not have a place to finish their degree programme anymore, but their professor assured that a new rule would be in place after they had rebuilt. Because they help with anxiety and despair and promote good health, dogs are permitted on campus.
The end??!!
Note: Please leave a like/comment if you wish, this is my first ever fanfic that I've done in a while, so please be nice! And thankyou @megalony for your help, your kindness is everything.
Eric and [Y/n] smiled as they looked up at the night sky on the beach. Deciding to continue stargazing on the beach rather than end their night now. As they lay on the sandy shore with their hands at their side were mere inches from each other.
This moment reminded them of their childhood spent together. They used to lie on the beach, feeling the gentle ocean waves brushing against the shore and hitting their feet. They would gaze at the stars above while holding hands, enjoying the enchanting view of the starry sky from the shore.
As he spoke about the star constellations in the night sky, she listened intently, tracing each one with her eyes as he pointed them out. Her heart beat faster as she reached out hesitantly, her fingers inching toward his hand. Blushing, she paused for a moment before finally wrapping her pinkie around his.
"And that one is-" he stopped, when he suddenly felt her pinkie finger interlocked with his own. Their eyes met and time stood still as they gazed at each other. A moment of silence passed between them, as they continued to hold each other's gaze. Embarrassed, she let go removing her pinkie from around his. Mentally cursing herself for doing something so stupid.
'stupid y/n your so stupid!'
'he only sees you as a friend'
'why would he like y-'
Her body tensed up as he took her hand intertwining his fingers with hers. Now all the blood had rushed to her cheeks they were now a bright shade of red. Her heart was pounding against her chest as if she'd just run from the castle to the village. Breathing out slowly calming her nerves she intertwined her fingers with his, smiling sheepishly as she did so.
"T-This brings back memories.." She nervously said, slowly turning to look at him. He smiled, "It really does." He said, smiling back as the two lay there underneath the stars.
Eric continued to talk about the stars and [Y/n] slowly started to doze off not from his talking, but from the whole day of fun they had in the village. Slowly nodding off but trying to keep herself awake not wanting to seem rude, but slowly sleep overcame her. As it did she leaned her head against Eric's shoulder.
Batter and Banter.
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Jonah have a super domestic moment baking and light playful bantering.
Warnings: None, pure fluff.
A/N: I’ve never made cake from scratch so i just used the first recipe i saw online lol and i didn’t feel like reading all that so all the measurements are made up so if the math isnt mathing thats why.
“Babe where’s the cake mix?” You asked looking through the target bags.
“I thought we were making it from scratch,” he said looking at you nervously.
“I guess we have to now,” you chuckled pulling out your phone looking for a recipe. “Okay listen closely,” you told him and he listened attentively, “grab the flour, baking soda, eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract, butter, vegetable oil, sugar, and salt,"
“Yes ma’am,” he saluted you playfully before scavenging for the ingredients.
“Okay, first it says to mix a whole stick of butter, a half cup of oil, and two tablespoons of sugar in a bowl,” you read from your phone before grabbing a bowl from the cabinet and placed it on the counter.
Jonah put the ingredients in the bowl and you handed him the electric mixer and he got to work on that while you started on mixing the dry ingredients.
“Okay now it says to add in two eggs, one at a time, and stir thoroughly after each one,” you recited the recipe and watched as Jonah did just that.
“Alright now we combine the wet and dry ingredients,” you told him while he slowly poured the mixture into your bowl and you mixed it as he went and you poured in a little buttermilk to make the batter less chunky. You added in the vanilla extract for the flavor.
“You’re not going to measure it?” Jonah asked as he watched you pour the extract straight from the bottle.
“I just pour until my senses tell me to stop,” you claimed as you continued to pour the vanilla extract and stopped after a few seconds.
“That’s a lot of vanilla extract,” Jonah said looking in the bowl but you put your finger over his mouth shutting him up.
“Trust me,” you told him, “I’m true to this not new to this,”
“Yes ma’am,” he said playfully putting his hands up in surrender as you mixed the vanilla extract into the cake batter. You dipped your finger into the bowl and just as you were about to try the batter Jonah took your hand and licked the batter off your finger.
“Seriously,” you asked and rolled your eyes at him.
“That’s really good,” he said attempting to dip his finger back in put you smacked his hand away and began to pour the the batter into the pan. “Can i at least lick the spoon,” he asked hopefully as you placed the pan into the oven and set a timer.
“Knock yourself out,” you deadpanned and he tilted his head at you.
“Why’d you say it like that,” he asked taking note of your overly serious tone.
“Say it like what?” you asked in the same tone trying to hold back your laughter.
“Like that,” he exclaimed. “Knock yourself out,” he said mocking your tone of voice.
“I do not sound like that,” you claimed and rolled your eyes at his attempt at your voice,
“I do not sound like that,” he repeated you but was quickly shut up when you threw flour at him. “Oh thats what we’re doing?” he asked before picking up a handful of flour.
“No,” you shouted before slowly backing away from him. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” you apoligized multiple times.
“I forgive you,” he said before throwing the flour at you making sure to avoid your hair. Before you knew it your kitchen was covered in flour and so were you and Jonah.
“I hate you so much,” you told him looking down at your flour covered apron.
“I love you too, darling,” he said helping you wipe the flour off of your apron. You heard the timer go off and grabbed your oven mitts grabbing the cake out of the oven.
You stuck a toothpick inside of it to make sure it was ready and it was so you stuck the cake in the fridge for a little bit so it could cool off and you could put the icing on it.
Mini time skip
You and Jonah were sitting on the couch eating the cake and watching your favorite show.
“You have a little something right there,” Jonah told you falsely.
“Where?” you asked him and you began to feel around on your face searching for whatever was on there.
“Right there,” he said before wiping icing on your cheek.
“You make me sick,” you said rolling you eyes as he wiped the icing off with his thumb.
“I love you too Y/N,” he told you before kissing you and laying his head on your lap and you began playing with his hair before kissing his forehead.
Eric looked around the dingy tavern. It was filled with unoccupied tables, and a couple of drunks with their heads down on the bar, hands still on their pint glasses. It was perfect. No one would know who he was here. He'd told his mother he was sailing to Sicily for a few weeks for its famous trading ports. The truth was that he needed a break from his royal duties.
He tired of all the formality. He just wanted to have a normal conversation with someone without them asking him to change policy or addressing him as prince. Was that too much to ask for? He made the small crew that he brought on this voyage swear that they would tell no one of his true identity.
The sound of a glass shattering snapped Eric's attention to the end of the bar from the doorway. You were bent down fussing over the mess, and haphazardly picking up the larger pieces of glass. A tall man stood directly in front of you. He watched you with a displeased gaze. Eric saw his mouth moving, but couldn't hear his words. You stopped your cleaning to look up at him with a pinched brow and a frown. Had he intentionally broken the glass?
Eric didn't know the man, but he instantly felt his negative energy. Clearing his throat and crossing the room to set his hat down on the bar, Eric pulled out a stool. Your (e/c) eyes portrayed urgency as you rose to your feet, stepping away from the unpleasant fellow, and discarding the broken pieces of the glass in your hands. You wiped them on your apron as you plastered on a smile to tend to him.
"Hello, mister. Welcome in. What can I get you?"
Your voice was softer than he imagined. Eric smiled in return.
"Good day, miss. I'll just have a pint, if that's okay."
You nodded your head. Turning around to pour his brew, Eric noticed as your eyes strayed to the man still poised at the end of the bar. You swallowed before returning your attention to the task at hand. When you turned back to set his drink in front of him, Eric thought he detected red, teary eyes, but you averted your gaze. Eric reached into his pocket to grab a coin. Setting it on the bar, he ducked his head to be sure to catch your eyes. He was right. You were teary.
"Is this enough to cover it?"
"Oh, sir, it's half of that," you picked up his coin to hand it back to him, shaking your head.
Eric smiled warmly at you.
"Keep it," he insisted. "The rest is for you."
He observed the color that rushed to your cheeks.
"Th-Thank you," you nodded at him with a half smile.
"(Y/N)," the ill-mannered man declared your name impatiently.
Eric's cool blue eyes shot to him, then back to you. You inhaled a sharp breath.
"Let me know if you need anything else while you're here, sir," you muttered, avoiding Eric's gaze again.
You returned to the mess that was still on the floor, grabbing the broom on the way. Eric discerned the man's menacing body language as he addressed you again. Eric decided that he would stay until he left. It was a while before he finally did. You breathed a sigh of relief at his departure, wiping the bar top.
Eric swept his gaze around the establishment again to make sure that you two were still alone, apart from the men sleeping off their pints. He found that you were. Raising his glass to his lips, Eric spoke before taking a sip.
"You should be more careful cleaning up glass like that."
Eric swallowed the sour malt, but it stung his throat. You gave him a confused look as you dried a glass in your hands. You saw that he still held a friendly expression, and you smiled a fraction.
"I've never seen you around before. Are you here for the trade?"
Eric nodded.
"I am, in fact."
"Where are you from?"
Eric racked his brain.
"Austria, originally," he lied, "but I've been all over."
You smirked.
"Is that why you don't have an accent?"
"Yes," he quickly replied. "I try to hide it, anyway."
You giggled. The sound was soothing to Eric's ears.
"Well, you do a good job," you complimented.
You set the dry glass down on the counter behind you, throwing the hand towel over your shoulder.
"What's your name?"
"Eric," he answered.
There was no harm in you knowing his real name. He just didn't want you to know his title.
"Eric," you tested the name on your lips. "I like that name," you decided.
You smiled so bright that Eric almost forgot about the scene that he walked in on.
"Who was that man? Did he happen to break that glass?"
You sighed, letting your eyes fall.
"That's the man I'm seeing. He said that it slipped off the bar," you shrugged.
Eric felt his muscles tense. That guy was your boyfriend? Then why did have such an aggressive demeanor towards you?
"Well, accidents happen," Eric excused. "But I hope that he spoke kindly to you after that."
Eric should stop. It wasn't his business, and he knew it. But something about you made him innately want to protect you. You sighed, and Eric didn't know if he'd pushed his luck.
"He doesn't speak kindly to me much anymore," you admitted.
Your eyes rose to his suddenly.
"Sorry, I shouldn't burden you with my troubles."
You leaned forward to grab another glass, pulling the towel off your shoulder to dry it.
"I don't mind," Eric assured you.
You smiled back at him.
"What about you? Do you have someone special back home? Or are you too much of a drifter for that sort of thing?"
Eric liked your teasing manner. He shrugged.
"I suppose the second. I rarely find anyone with similar enough interests if I'm honest."
You lifted your eyebrows at that.
"Ah, and what exactly are your interests? Sailing? Mermaids, perhaps?"
Eric chuckled.
"Definitely sailing. I've yet to meet a mermaid to confirm or deny that one."
You gave a light laugh, and bit your lip.
"Yeah, I pegged you for a sailor boy."
Eric's eyes held yours for a few seconds.
"Have you been sailing? There's nothing else like it."
You shook your head.
"No, I can't say that I've been lucky enough. I've lived my whole life on this tiny island."
You paused.
"Sometimes I do wish I could sail away and escape it."
Eric felt his chest tighten. He knew that feeling all too well. The feeling of being trapped; not free to be who you want.
"I could take you out one day," Eric offered.
You laughed at him.
"Careful, I don't think I'd want you to bring me back," you warned.
Eric gulped, and he attempted to casually shrug.
"That wouldn't be so bad."
The silence that followed gave him goosebumps. Eric finished his pint, and rose to leave.
"I'll see you again soon, (Y/N)."
You raised your hand to wave, but Eric was out the door in a flash. You smirked to yourself. What an intriguing, handsome young man.
The next couple weeks, Eric journeyed back to the tavern every day. He saw you each time, and gradually learned more about you. He found out that your favorite color is green, and that your favorite flowers are the ones on the plumeria shrubs by the coast. You had, at one point, dreamed to be a teacher, but that wasn't very realistic with such limited opportunity on the island. You hadn't expected to end up a barmaid, but you got by this way.
Eric also learned more about your relationship. You had known your boyfriend, Max, since you were young. Apparently, when the two of you started going out, Max had been good to you. Over the last couple years, with the loss of his mother and his business, Max had grown colder. You expressed that you often tried to remember what he was like before, but that he'd undoubtedly changed.
Eric tried to soothe you every time you told him a piece of painful information by telling you about his various adventures at sea. He didn't tell you much else. You, surprisingly, didn't push him for more personal information. You only asked questions about his stories. It seemed that you respected his privacy. It was unexpected, and quite the novelty for Eric.
"Wow. I imagine I'd love to go on an adventure at sea," you sighed.
"I don't have many adventures here. But, I was going to have a dance here tomorrow night. It will probably just be me dancing, per usual when I hold these, but you should come. You can show me how seamen dance," you winked.
Eric laughed.
"Not very well, I can promise you that."
He studied your face. Your smile didn't falter at all. It made Eric's grow.
"I won't miss it."
Adjusting the nicest jacket that he brought on this voyage, again, Eric inhaled a breath in anticipation before he opened the tavern door. Looking around, he noticed a few more patrons than usual- perhaps because of your dance night. His eyes moved to the bar, but he only saw a man behind it. His heart sank. Where were you? You said you'd be here. Just as Eric finished that thought, he heard your delightful laughter fill the air. His eyes searched for the source of the noise.
Past the pillar, he spotted you dancing in the small open area in front of the fireplace. You wore a beautiful green dress. Your hair was pinned up in a tighter style than usual. It only accentuated your features more. Eric's heart sank a second time when he spotted your dance partner. It was your boyfriend. This time, the man was all smiles. Eric swallowed down the lump in his throat. Ruffling his hair, he decided to sit at the bar, and keep an eye on the two of you.
He ordered the same ale as always. He was a little less generous with the male bartender as he normally was with you. Eric's eyes drifted to you intermittently. He watched you smile and laugh as you twirled about the room with Max. Things seemed to be going well for you tonight. You seemed happy. Eric had almost resolved to leave you be, but he froze when his eyes swept over to see the indignant man suddenly clutching the front of your dress. He was in your face with the same displeased expression that Eric recognized from before. Eric immediately rose from his stool, crossing the space to get to you. He heard your conversation as he got closer.
"What was that? I saw you looking at him," your boyfriend spat.
"It was nothing," you answered, your voice shaky. "It's nothing."
Eric felt a twinge in his heart at your statement, but he approached you all the same.
"Oi, kindly take your hands off her," he puffed up his chest.
Your heart swelled as you saw Eric coming face to face with Max, who had released the front of your dress. You would worry about the crinkled fabric later. Max stood toe to toe with the man who matched his height.
"What the hell do you think you're doing? You think you're some hero?" Max addressed him.
"I just think that if you're going to put your hands on someone, it should be me."
Eric clenched his fists. Max stared into his eyes for a moment, not finding an ounce of fear.
"Whatever. If you want this poor bar wench," he waved his hand, "she's all yours."
Eric tightened his jaw. He raised his fist, and made contact with Max's cheek. You gasped. Max stumbled back.
"What the-?" Max held a hand to his face in shock.
"Hey! That's enough! If ye two lads want to fight, ye take it outside!" The bartender yelled.
Max stood up straight, still holding his palm over his swelling jaw.
"She's not worth it. You'll see," he rushed past you.
Eric's strong hands came up to steady you as you swayed.
"Hey," he ducked to meet your gaze. "Are you okay?"
Your eyes welled with tears, but you nodded. You threw your arms around his neck.
"Yes. Thank you. No one's ever stood up for me like that."
Eric's arm wrapped around your waist. Letting his face fall into your neck, he breathed in your pretty scent.
"What do you say we get on my ship, and get away from here?"
Just then, Ariel caught a glimpse of an enormous, lushly furred head cautiously emerging from behind the throne. A pair of luminous yellow eyes surveyed them with intrigue, before the creature gracefully approached, its hefty paws making no sound on the marble floor, and its tail moving with a serene rhythm. It was the most magnificent cat Ariel had ever laid eyes on, adorned with a vibrant orange coat and bold black stripes. Overcome with wonder, she instinctively moved closer, momentarily forgetting her earlier resolve not to act impulsively.
Jasmine stood from her throne, her smile growing as she watched Ariel’s curious approach. "Would you like to be introduced to Rajah?"
