Compositing for Animation

Ideas

Have Monsters/Characters Walk outside of house, Composite Jesmond dene outside of house or other nature like area.

I also have the idea of making it so when you have left the house there is nothing but a door.

Here I have a quick merge of images to get an idea of how it will look and how I can observe, improve and come up with new ideas.

I am also thinking about adding animals into the scene, if I follow along with this idea as it is set in a nature environment. However I am also thinking about only using my flat space and basing it around food and animals but I have not yet decided which one I want to do.

Thinking more about this, i am interested in making my animation on temporal shifts, showing changes in time and space in various different ways such as through the prism of a doorway, windows and photographic. The movie Beetle Juice has a scene that shows a good example of this, I want to create a similar style scene like shown in this image from Beetle Juice.

My project is exploring Temporal shifts/none Euclidean space (space which is not ordinary, which is distorted and doesnt make sense, such as space in this image), looking at a picture I have in my room it has given me the idea of using animation to show different ways of displaying none Euclidean space one being animals inside pictures moving like in Harry Potter but then transporting through picture and coming to life in the real world.

The scenes in my animation will look distorted and out of place, a shark will be swimming through a forestry area, with bubbles floating around him.

In one of my scenes I want to have a portal which leads to a different location, I have came across this video in primeeval that has a portal which I like:

Art Direction

The art approach I want to take for this project will be low poly 3D Animals moving through time and space in the real world. I will use most of my time in maya rigging characters and animating my scene ideas. I will also use nuke or after effects to 3D track my moving scenes, and then use After Effects for the post production stage of my animation to add final touches such as lighting, shadows, lens flares and other effects.

Shot 1

Have a shot of a wall with composited photographs of animals/characters, and then the characters moves through the photographs and become 3d with the real world.

Shot 2

Animals/characters leave the house through a door which transports them to Jesmond dene, the door therefore acting as a portal, when in Jesmond dene you will only be able to see the door and not the house.

The Characters go back home through a different portal which looks like some sort of rip through time and space.

The Portal game is a good reference which helped develop my ideas for this project so far, it has given me the idea of making a similar style portal which the shark will use to swim through and return home.

IronGate is a new server with a few players already getting started into the world. We aim to keep a fun Minecraft experience with a few side things to get into while you may have nothing to do such as: a custom parkour course, PVPArena, and custom made Quests. We also have Towny in our server to let the creative builders go wild making towns and also to bring players together to work on keeping a community up. As an extra safety precaution, you never have to worry about your buildings being griefed and your chests being raided with the addition of our grief prevention plugin, with this we can easily rollback your buildings and return all your items. We hope that with the additions we have that you can stay here for a long time and never get bored.
