In TLJ, Poe mentors a newbie pilot named Paige Tico. There was some forced and unnecessary romantic tension between them. Paige was soon shot down by a tie fighter, giving Poe man pain and Paige’s sister Rose the motivation to go on a undercover mission with Finn. Her entire character arc during the mission revolves around her role as a romantic interest for Finn. At the same time, Finn and Rey never/rarely interact. Finn and Poe’s relationship does not progress much, there is just a few scenes to bait the audience even further. The two new asian female characters’ main purpose in the story is to be romantic interests for poe and finn.

god tier: Finn has two moms, and the Force gave him to them as their child. They were Queens of a matriarch planet, and they love him very much and misses him every day since he was taken. Finn will remember them and reunite with them later in the sequel trilogy. realistic tier: Finn's parents are the King and Queen of a planet the first order has exploited. His mom and dad love him very much and misses him every day since he was taken. Finn will remember them and reunite with them later in the sequel trilogy. cursed shit tier: Finn's parentage isn't revealed at all because lucasfilm/disney is a piece of shit that ditches and sidelines this character in the upcoming films since they are done using him as a red herring for Rey in the force awakens.

Even awards don’t pay then what if you don’t get awards!  I’d also want to be a prof specialized in transnational Chinese cinema or whatever, but do i wanna get a phd after getting my masters tho? Also there aren’t that many universities out there with positions in humanities programs, and im not as scholarly as I should be. Tbh i love screenwriting, I’d probably try to write for feature films or maybe even tv shows, cause filmming on set is exhausting as fuck and i aint got the brains and passions for considering logistics as a director.

ok like im still not over the scene where leia reportedly slapped poe, cause like? what happened? oscar u cant just drop this piece of info and not give it context smh! 

I know leia isn’t necessarily a loving or warm maternal figure to poe (I choose to interpret her a maternal/mentor figure to Poe but i know she isnt shown to be super loving or warm towards him in canon aka poe dameron comics), but to say the very least Poe is a subordinate. I don’t see Leia slapping a subordinate over nothing! It’s unprofessional to say the very least. Sure, she doesn’t take shit and would not let anybody to disrespect her, and I can definitely see her getting confrontational when people over step their boundaries, but is poe the kind of character to disrespect her and over stepping boundaries? Poe has TREMENDOUS respect for Leia, he kinda idolized her growing up--i know there is character reveal in tlj but they can’t go against what’s established and continued to be established in the canon, it’d be very poor writing, so I honestly don’t see Poe disrespecting Leia. Some people apparently thinks that poe was disagreeing with Leia about major plan Luke was cooking up, and the conflict stems from disagreement, but like, to say leia would get physical confrontational because a subordinate is arguing with her over some military plan??? Sound SUPER ooc to me. Leia is supposed to be a leader, not just a leader, a great one; she was a senate and leading the rebellion since she was 20, so yeah, I don’t see her doing that. 

so what the hell could have happened? Personally, I think they were talking about something extremely personal, and Poe got a little too honest about his opinion about something very personal to Leia, and Leia got just a little too emotional for a second. In the poe dameron flight log (which was supposed to be poe’s paperworks/reports about the missions he went on during his time in the resistance), Poe mentioned that he doesnt wanna talk about k//yl//o r//en until he is behind the bars, obviously and understandably, there is grudges and probably also trauma. k//yl//o r//en is still leia’s biological son, and he just killed his father, leia is probably having a lot to process about this. Han’s death and her own son’s fall to the dark side are fresh wounds, leia’s strong but traumas are still trauma. After all, she loved this child and raised this child to adulthood, she must have realized he was a monster by now, but she is still his mother. My speculation is that somehow they needed to discuss k//y//lo r//en and f.o in regards to a coming military plan, and poe was being a little bit too brutally honest abt k//y//lo, forgetting or not knowing that he’s talking about Leia’s son, and Leia got emotional for a second.
