Interview with... Meredith (part 1)

Hello Meredith, how's it going? Welcome to my page, and thanks for accepting to answer to my 20 questions about tickling.

How did your passion for tickling arise and develop in you?

I first discovered tickling in my early pre-teens. Kind of when I discovered and learned about kinks/porn for the first time. From a very young age I always had a general interest in being tied up, as well as feet; which I learned were kinks around this time. It's when I discovered tickling that it all clicked and it has stuck with me ever since.

How would you describe the role of tickling in your social and relational interactions?

Unless you count tumblr, tickling is not in my day to day social life. Tickling is in fact a part of my relational interactions. They know I enjoy it, they give me bursts of tickles now and again, but sessioning together is more infrequent than I would prefer, but I would chalk that up to me overall.

What aspects of tickling fascinate you most? Physically and emotionally?

For me personally, I love the humiliating aspects. Being forced to smile and laugh as your captor gets to explore and provoke your body into involuntary reactions with little to no resistance. Being bound and losing your shit, being viewed as a 'cutsie little giggle bug' and essentially becoming a sex object for others to play with. From that perspective of degration and humiliation, tickling really gets me off.

In your opinion, how is tickling perceived on a social level? Are there prejudices or stereotypes? If so which ones?

Tickling as a kink i fear is viewed as something weird and taboo by a lot people.

Understably, a lot of people hate being tickled.

A lot of people don't enjoy pain either, but spanking is viewed as a normal kink, where tickling just doesn't seem to fit the bill.

Simply I would prefer if socially, tickling was treated and viewed in the same way spanking is with more commonality and understanding.

I will say, that on a 1 to 1 level I think people are more open to the idea of a tickle kink, instead of in a social group it would be viewed more as a joke or at least met with less understanding and acceptance due to social pressure norms.

Do you think a love for tickling can have a positive or negative impact on relationship building?

All dependent on the people involved.

There can be healthy ways to love something and unhealthy ways.

I'll leave it at that, but I will say, my bet that having a strong affinity for a niche kink can be a bit of a challange for trying to make it work with someone who is not on the same level as you with it.

How has your interest in tickling evolved over time? Has anything changed in the way you experience it today compared to when you started following it?

If anything, I've only wanted to endure other positions, tools, and tickle spots I've seen others endure, either through gifs, videos, art or what have you.

I also discovered more about my ler side having talked with many others now with the kink. So It's developed a bit more than I've thought now that I think of it.

Have you had experiences or meetings with other people who share this passion? How does the interaction happen?

No. I have not had experiences with others who share the kink, irl

How much do you think the web and social media have influenced the diffusion and perception of the passion for tickling?

Its certainly played a role to hosting a community and space for tickle fetishest around the world. But beyond that Id say tickling hasnt gotten any special treatment or help from social media. Curiously, I'd say there is a debate to be had with foot fetishism becoming a meme and if thats been a good or bad thing for those with the kink.

What do you think are the main challenges that people with this passion may encounter in speaking openly about it?

Trying not to sound too weird about it when introducing it someone.

People are judmental and it can go astray quick.

There's a right place and right time, try and set the mood I'd think first. But it's hard at a baseline. Some cant even say "tickle" without getting flusteres. It's not easy to talk about our kinks in any forum.

What would you say to someone who has a similar interest but is afraid to share it with others?

I'd say make a tumblr or something. It's a pretty common way to share your kinks and experiences instead of doing it face to face.

Interview with... Meredith (part 2)

When and how did you realize that tickling was more than just a game for you?

Probably when I realized I kept going back to look up tickling on the internet, and just kept fantasizing about the new and exciting things I was seeing.

Is there a particular relational dynamic (friendship, couple, family,...) in which you feel more comfortable expressing this passion?

I feel more confident in sharing these feelings of mine with people Im dating as opposed to family and friends. I prefer to keep it private

Have you ever met people who don't understand or judge this passion? How did you handle the situation?

I havent brought it up with any who probably do, so no comment really.

How does tickling create connection and intimacy with people?

It's rooted in being an intimate activity.

Close quarteres, wrestling, thrill, excitment, jitters... All of that boils together and creates laughter, voluntarily or not. On a surface level it's a very intimate thing, it only makes sense that for some people it can have a deeper rooted meaning.

Are there any rules or boundaries that you feel are necessary when tickling with someone?

Safe words, comfort levels, zones to avoid. There are tons. Boundaries are important and they need to start there. I'd say don't get discouraged if you find yourself making someone uncomfortable, just do your best to learn from it. Its my hope that everyone can at least be respecful when it comes to learning boundaries and learning from mistakes.

How would you describe your emotional and physical reaction during tickling sessions?

Thrill. Butterflies in my stomach, arousal building with a buzz of static electricity, waiting for that right spark to make me explode and lose control, just let myself laugh and laugh... The touch amplified by my hightened sensee. Teasy and flirtatious and they skitter in intimate areas. I can't help but feel turned on. It's as involuntary as the laughter.

Do you think tickling can improve people's moods? What are the psychological and relational benefits? can tickling fight negative stress?

All depends on the person.

There's a time and place for it. For example, if Im trying to fall asleep, the last thing I want is to be tickled. I don't think it can help with anger in the moment, but if you're feeling down or depressed, I think something intimate like some friendly tickling can cheer up the right person. It's not exactly unheard of to want to have sex/foreplay to relieve stress either.

Would you like tickling to be treated and “accepted” more openly? If yes, how? Yes. I'd prefer if tickling held the same status of spanking in a social forum.

Seen as kinky, not seen as weird or a red flag, willing to try it (usually), and not bragged about in the open like making out is, at least amongy young adults in that regard.

Have you found inspiration or comfort in online communities, forums or social media that talk about tickling? How have they helped and supported you?

Yes absolutely.

It just helps knowing youre not as alone as you feel you are.

It's refreshing to talk with SOMEBODY about a kink you havent openly shared with anybody. It's fun, and it's great supporting one another.

Others feel compelled to share their sessions and stories. I enjoy the aspect of writing fantasies, making memes, posting teases. It's all positivity in a reletive quite area of my private life. If you find cool people out there to share it with, it's such a beautiful thing.

What are the qualities you appreciate most in a person with whom you share this passion?

They have to be able to laugh at themselves, not be so sensitive.

I prefer people who are honest and direct with their intentions.

I like people I can tease and flirt with, but with the understanding that it simply is what it is; two adults having spicy talk about a mutual kink.

I don't like people who pussyfoot around what they want, or people that persist that they will have me in their stocks, or ask about how I'd dom them to ad nauseum.

If you're kind, respectful, and share like minded kinks I see zero reason why we cant get along great.

We're you named after anyone?: yes, my dad has a cousin who lives waaay out in the sticks, I'm not sure why as I've never met them but I'm named after him.

When was the last time you cried?: it's been years... I'll get misty eyed at a lot of corny movies and all that but a real cry was probably a few years ago.

6. What is your preferred way to restrain your Lee for a tickle session?

If they’re comfortable with it, I’d prefer them to be tied spread eagle on a soft bed, with restraints on their elbow and knees to reduce movement as best as possible! I’d also prefer them to be in as little clothing as possible (whatever they’re most comfortable with). I’d also give them a nice pillow for their head to rest on. I want them as comfortable and relaxed as possible for any session we are having! 😁

27. Is it more fun to have another Ler help or do you prefer to work alone?

Either! If I’m allowed to do my thing and take care of my Lee? WIN!! If another Ler wants to help me make it more fun for the Lee (doom them more 😏)? Again I say, WIN!! 😄😆

35. For you, who is the one Lee that 'got away' and sometimes reflect about what you could have differently to achieve a different, more desired, outcome?

One person, who I will not name for privacy reasons, I kinda came on a little strong when we first met online. Nothing horrible or brash, I was just very shy and nervous, and didn’t know how to talk to him. I do also wanna add that we’re still in slight contact with each other!

But there was this one guy who was very nice, who I thought it would be fun to meet and get to know in this community. But I was young and new to talking to people online/taking the first step. He wasn’t scared by me or anything like that, and understood I was just inexperienced with this sort of thing, something that I will always be grateful for. But I still to this day wished that’d I’d been able to introduce myself better, then maybe our relationship would be stronger than what it is today. 😕

But hey, you live and you learn, right?! 😁

10. Best advice you have for other lers?

Make sure above all else that you've communicated with your lee beforehand, agree on any and all boundaries and respect those boundaries like your life depends on it!

19. What would your ideal tickle room be like? Aesthetic, tools, equipment, etc?

I've never thought about an aesthetic for a tickle room, but it would certainly be full of bondage equipment, stocks, X frame, etc, and tools would include all sorts of brushes, flossers, pinwheels, feathers and the like. And ideally the room would be soundproof 😆

43. You have to pick one area to NEVER tickle again; whose gotta go? Feet, tummy, armpits, thighs.

Nothing against armpits (a great spot to tickle) but they're my least favourite of the areas listed here so it'll have to be them. Could never give up tummy, thighs and especially feet!
