https://www.ancient-origins.net/ancient-places-africa/elmina-castle-and-its-dark-history-enslavement-torture-and-death-003450
The elmina castle is an important part of Ghanaians’ history and culture. It is apart of the time when enslaved Africans all around Africa would be imprisoned, sold and shipped off to the Caribbean or Europe as part of the Atlantic Slave Trade Circle. The invasion of the Portuguese, English, French and Dutch started off with trades between the Golds and Diamonds in exchange of their cutleries, cigarettes and handy tools but soon became too greedy and wanted to take over the African soils and introduced Africa to Slave Trade decades of brutality and inhumane abuse.
I will address this in my history chapter using the article linked below as my guideline in my writing piece writing a 2 spreads including personal pictures of my visit to the castle.

UNTOUCHABLE :BOOK REVIEW
The story is setup in pre independence India.
It starts with the description of the outcasts colony, outcasts from the Hindu society.
Manual scavengers, leather workers, washermen, barbers, water carriers and grasscutters.
But there was an internal hierarchy in the outcasts society too where the scavenger lies in the bottom. Lowest of them all.
Manual scavengers who do the work no one wants to do. Discriminated by the society including other outcasts.
It is the story of Bakha an attractive young man who cleans the latrines annd sweeps the roads. The book describes a day in his life filled with crushed dreams, humiliation, servility, weakness of the downtrodden.
He lives in the outcasts colony where there are dingy lanes engulfed with pungent fumes from the filthy brooke and public latrines situated about it.
Then it describes the sad state of affairs
How they were not allowed to fetch water from the well and how they used to beg every passerby to fill their pitchers. How he begs for food and gets humiliated. How he was ashamed to be seen in the street events that psychologically scarred him.
An incident in the book that enraged me was when poor bakha gets public humiliation in the street and even got slapped when an upper cast accidently got brushed to him.
The whole crowd sympathize with the one being touched and he he suffered terribly which was pathetic.
There were so many description of events that made me exasperate. "INHUMAN"! Was the word that came out of my mouth. Especially the Hakim ji's incident.
Later in the story he came across a Christian missionary who wanted him to convert to Christianity and assured him how this UNTOUCHABLE tag will vanish he also came across a congregation which was addressed by Mahatma Gandhi himself who called dalits Harijans and didn't wanted dalits to be separated from Hindus.
There were only a couple of events in the book where he was not abused and it went like" I am very grateful Halvidar ji, it is very kind of you" were Bakha's words when he was offered tea by halvidar ji in a pan from which sparrows drink water.
"Mahatma had talked of a brahmin who did scavenging in his ashram, did he mean i should go on scavenging? Bakha asked himself.
Yes, came a forceful answer.." YES" said bakha i shall go on doing what gandhiji says.
But shall i never be able to leave the latrines? Came a disturbing thought.
The story is an act of fiction but reflects realism in the society. Its reflects the hypocrite society.
Sad truth Cast system still prevails. Untouchability still prevails. This captivating narrative and melancholy described in its proses is soul crushing. But it is a must read to see where our society came from.

Great Indian Constitution
People who say our Indian Constitution is Dr. Ambedkar's Constitution  are absolutely right and they are also equally right, if they say Dr. Rajendra Prasad's Constitution  or Dr. Sarvepalli RadhaKrishnan’s or of Alladi Krisnaswamy Iyer's or N Gopala Swami Ayengar's or T T Krishnamachari's or Pandit Nehru’s Constitution or Vijaya Laxmi Pandit's or Sorijini Naidu 's Constitution or of many others of the  Constitution team. For the first time, the Constituent Assembly was proposed, set up in 1942 and the Assembly was held in Dec 1946 with members elected from provincial (states) legislative assemblies. Though, there are representations from minorities and backward classes, most of the team members of the Constitution team were eminent personalities born in Higher Caste Communities and I doubt, Dr. Ambedkar as the team Lead and Architect of the Constitution, dictated the whole team. Dr. Ambedkar is a great person, his Grammar of Anarchy deliverable hasn’t come just out of the blue, it might be the result of many inputs like his experience, overseas studies, mentor-ship and deliberations/discussions with his friends and the best people around him. The Constitution draft had undergone several reviews, iterations and was a consensual agreement of team's Ideas, a tireless team effort of best people for about 07+ years till it got full powers as an approved one on 26th Nov, 1949. I am sure, it is not just the brains and effort of the best people in the team, there are many unsung world hero’s/scholars in the background like eminent British Scholars/Administrators ( like Sir B. N. Rau , Constitution Advisor, Civil Servant. India was not in total anarchy before freedom and there was some Constitution that British India followed which underwent revisions time to time over several decades. There were reservations in preIndependent India too to uplift Poor), Professors and other Leaders who might have contributed in shaping our Constitution.
India has very stupid mindsets, still  going strong on Class-Caste-Clan structures. Many from the down trodden communities may get empowered associating themselves with Dr. Baba Sahab Ambedkar  and by popularising Constitution as Dr. Ambedkar's Constitution but there is a problem here, their empowerment is being snubbed by many stupid mindsets  of 6000+ years old culture widening Inequalities. Though there were Reservations in India for the Poor(By and Large, lower castes/down trodden are poor even now, Huge Inequalities) for more than a Century, India couldn’t Change/transform People’s Mindsets. Once I questioned Someone(not a downtrodden) managing Facilities, why he deployed Children (Girl -13 yrs, 2 Boys 8 & 11 yrs old) to clean lots of Toilets & Bathrooms  and spat came a reply, why to concern about them ?, they are from Scavengers Caste/family, their whole family scavenge Public Toilets & Bathrooms. I felt bad to see Children cleaning Toilets instead of going to school. They use  indirect methods of Polity to Snub the downtrodden; Backwards. Every time they hear as Dr. Ambedkar's Constitution, they alienate from it and don't abide by it fully. They are egoist, less likely to follow a downtrodden' s Constitution. When they don't abide by it, the downtrodden doesn't get support to rise in life and the inequalities widens and widens perpetually.  India can only progress when all progresses bridging Inequalities. Stop proliferating Our Constitution as 'Ambedkar's Constitution.
Class-Caste-Clan structure that had promoted Inequalities in our society is a dominant part of our Indian Culture. There are few trying to alter Constitution to keep it in sync with our Culture. They wanna remove Equality and Secularity clauses to preserve our great Class-Caste-Clan-6000+ years old Culture.
Applying Game theory to have an edge and reduce Social problems by tagging Dr. Ambedkar's name to Indian Constitution creates lots of unrest and disturbs Peace in the process. Not a good game. So, stop saying Our Constitution as ' Ambedkar's Constitution'.

“When India gained its independence in 1947, the British province of Punjab was split between the new sovereign states of India and Pakistan, and the smaller, eastern portion became part of India.
After independence, the history of the Indian Punjab was dominated by Sikh agitation for a separate Punjabi-speaking state, led by Tara Singh and later by his political successor, Sant Fateh Singh. In November 1956, however, rather than being divided along linguistic lines, the Indian state of Punjab was enlarged through incorporation of the Patiala and East Punjab States Union (PEPSU), an amalgamation of the preindependence princely territories of Patiala, Jind, Nabha, Faridkot, Kapurthala, Kalsia, Malerkotla (Maler Kotla), and Nalagarh. Political and administrative leadership for the enlarged Punjab was provided by Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, chief minister of the state from 1956 to 1964. The call for a separate Indian state containing the predominantly Punjabi-speaking areas intensified in the wake of Punjab’s expansion. Eventually, the government of India met the demand.”
