#predator starting out as a way to keep voltron + balance in check and becoming something so out of control

Hey, Winter, if you haven’t hammered out an origin for the Predator in Quintenary Stars, I have an idea to share with you.

You’ve said before that quintessence is sort of sentient, like it can’t control people, but it can set things up and it’s the people who need to act on it.

Well, what if there was a point in time where Voltron disrupting the balance of the universe, perhaps by enforcing order with an iron fist. While the Will of Quintessence couldn’t destroy Voltron or takeaway its power, what if it could do was help create something that could act as Voltron’s equal and opposite.

So it helps lead an alchemist (like Haggar was when she first met Zarkon and before she went crazy from quintessence poisoning in canon) or something to everything they’d need to create their own version of Voltron.

And if you end up using the Voltron backstory I suggested, that might even include five animals that had each been infused by one color of quintessence like the original lion had been all those millennia ago.

But the havoc this Anti-Voltron unleashed was unfathomable.

Basically, the Will of Quintessence ended up over correcting for Voltron’s shenanigans with the Predator. When Voltron finally managed to the Predator, they couldn’t destroy it, so the Will of Quintessence helped them hide it all across the universe, so it would (hopefully) never be used again.
