Sharing and Learning
We have been super busy getting caught up after attending the AIC Annual Meeting in Houston. While there was so much to learn and bring back to the lab, it was also a good reminder to take the time to learn tips and tricks from our lab mates as well. Today Diane shared her expertise in preparing various styles of exhibit supports for our special collections. She makes it look so easy. Thanks, Diane!
Also this week, our intern Laura, learned how to prepare a variety of remoistenable tissues for paper mending. These pre-made materials are easy to work with, and are often chosen when we want to control the amount of moisture required to adhere a mend. Laura made solvent-set and heat-set tissues, as well as tissues pre-coated with wheat starch paste for quick and easy mending.
