Comparing Harry and Taylor feels dumb, but he is the only other artist where I know the music inside out, so I will. Harry may have simple lyrics, but there is never a second where the listener is left bored. Harry paints with notes, melodies, and vocal layers, and it's because he isn't afraid to sacrifice his credit for something that is great, whereas Taylor feels like she needs to be the only person writing the song even when it's not good. It feels like Taylor would rather have a bad song with solo writing credit than a great song with 4-5 songwriters.
I don't think Harry is close to the kind of generational songwriting talent that T is at her peak but as the leading male pop artist at the moment I can at least appreciate his ability to carve out an album with artistic intent. Each song is its own story. And work with people he knows are better than him.
#I actually think the closest 1-to-1 for her as an artist (as rough as it is to say) is K@nye#Brilliant once-in-a-generation minds#Some of the highest quality work when they had smth to prove and now it's just endless sludge#With a couple hidden gems. Or hints or something greater. But the monotony of the yes-man'd sounds drown it out#It's astounding how much his Donda pre leases listening parties remind me of Eras tour#Their post 2017 careers....

having to worry about housing for next year despite thinking that i had it all sorted and i don’t even feel like i’m gonna throw up at all i’m actually completely normal
#convinced this place that i was in the TRENCHES finding is either gonna reject my application#or raise the rent randomly so i can’t afford it#finding a place that pre leases was literally hell and this place is seeming too good to be true so i’m just waiting for the other shoe to#drop. and have been all day#and before that i was worried all (long) weekend bc i couldn’t do anything until offices open#but i’m fine (can’t eat and can’t sit without having to get up and pace)#and to top it all off i’m convinced that somehow my financial aid is gonna randomly fall through#and that even if this place works out i won’t be able to afford it or school and i’m gonna have to move home#and drop out to go to school here and lose all of my credits and everything’s gonna fall apart#but it’s CHILL#this happens every year like honestly it’s normal atp……

#mine#I moved in and everything was fine!#but then I had my top surgery pre-op#and basically the conversation I had with my partner went from#I can’t go shirtless to the beach bc I’m not a guy to he does most of the compromising in the relationship#to: he’s happy for me to be happier about my chest#but he’s not excited and he can’t give me that excitement because he’s a Straight Man#and would prefer that I didn’t transition#which. we’ve had similar conversations in the past but it wasn’t ever quite so blatant#and it was always something we could work through before#but this one was a DOOZY#and so anyways I’m now living with and in a relationship with and depending on during my recovery someone who#has 1. just kinda invalidated my whole thing 2. said he shouldn’t be the one to compromise on this#so. I kinda don’t know what to do. we’re fine for right now but I don’t think long term this is gonna work#BUT LIKE i guess I’m just going to go through with this relationship for the next year until our lease is up?! because I mean ?????#and it’s not BAD or anything. he still very much lives and respects me and I’m in no danger or whatever#but knowing that this isn’t going to work out long term but staying in it anyways for now is a WEIRD thing to be doing but#I truly don’t know what else to do#and I wish this relationship could work!!!! I do!!#I love this man very much!!!!#but I feel weird and wrong for saying that I deserve more out of someone

#maybe it’s just bc I have ‘still living in my childhood bedroom as an adult’ syndrome#but am in the process of tidying up and it just. god. fucking bowled me over#sometime soon I gotta Marie kondo this place again#and maybe look into upgrading storage#instead of y’know sticking with the stuff I’ve been using since middle school#but also also pre Covid before (and after) my grandfather died#a lot of stress my mom was under (and me by extension) was that he was an awful hoarder#and he didn’t rlly care#but then he died and we had to take sporadic trips out to his old apartment and help his roommate/partner/person go through all his shit#and then we had to just start throwing shit out bc their rent lease end was coming up and she needed to have everything moved out#so now it’s like. I feel hypersensitive to it#and we still have so much shit in the house not even in my room#some of which is still his!!!#and it’s like….. mom wants to go through it all properly and try and sell it but I’m fucking so tired of it. just get rid of it you have an#an Outback just shove it all in your car and take a trip to goodwill and whatever goodwill doesnt take bring to the free section in the dump#but she’s not going to do that bc She’s Mom and whenever I try to just throw stuff out she says stuff that makes me second guess myself#or insists she’ll try to find someone to give it to#but then she doesn’t a lot of the time so it just sits in my room or some random spot around the house#she is picking and choosing every battle that is presented to her and she is losing and I am trying not to lose my mind
