was coping over the end of the impera and copia eras and my mom called me weird bc it's "just a rock band". these mfs are not jUsT a roCK bANd for thousands of people. does she not recall I changed my career path? I'm literally moving to Sweden in like a year and she's saying it's "just a rock band". this isn't denial btw, she's just stupid
my first album cycle is over. I made a dress for it, I got the box set, I went to 2 shows for 2 tours. but was it a full cycle tho cause I wasn't at impera release- anyways I can be here for release now and I'm hyped. I'm going to miss copia with my whole heart tho and idk if I'll like the next papa nearly as much. I hope the next albums got a purple theme. I like purple. I'm still sobbing furiously I'm just glad he didn't die

OPINION THAT NO ONE ASKED ME FOR BUT I WANTED TO:
Ok, respect to the new ghouls' names... I have several problem with the new quintessence one called "Phantom" and was the same situation when they all decided "Sunshine" for the new ghoulette back when the Pre-Imperatour started. For me, it's the equivalent of if Mist was called "Cirice", obviously using the name of a song referring to the era and not taking into account the element she was. But! Everyone is free to use the name of their preference. Personally I think the name "Quint" is perfect ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes I do have an idea. I wish I could go and see them both again. No concert will ever be as amazing
To the people who got to see Ghost and Volbeat on the same concert:
Do you have any idea how lucky you are?

My Little Ghoulie
Tumblr media
Pairing: Cirrus Ghoulette x (Ghoulie!Daughter)Reader [Familial Love]
Summary: You share an unbreakable maternal bond with Cirrus. You always begged your mom to bring you on tour. You've practiced piano/keyboard, and many other instruments. She finally brings you along for the Re-Imperatour and make your debut on the final night of the tour.
Warnings: Anxiety
Key: Italics = Thoughts, +*+ = Time Skip, Bold/Italics = Flashback
Theme: The Future is a Foreign Land - Ghost
A/n: I saw the Ghovie and I'm living for it. Cirrus is so mother. In honor of the live album being released...
------------------------------------------------
Your mother brought you many ghouveniers on her travels with Papa. You've begged her to take her with you, even sprouting the idea that you could play in place of her or the other ghouls.
"If you want to go with me, I would want you to be successful when you're performing," She says
That has stuck with you since. Your knee jumps up and down as you hear the crowd cheering, waiting for the show to start.
"You ready, little ghoulie?" Cirrus kneels to meet your gaze
You meet her gaze halfway. You take one last deep breath as you nod, taking her hand and following her to meet with the other ghouls and Papa.
"Ahh, there she is," Papa greets you
He walks up to you and places his hands on your shoulders.
"Welcome," He says, "We are so glad to have you."
"Wouldn't want to be anywhere else," You reply, smiling
"I assume your mother went over everything with you?" He asks
You nod. You follow behind everyone last as you all make your way to the stage. Cirrus notices you dragging behind.
"Come on, you're apart of this now," She says
She takes both of your hands, and her tail materializes as does yours. The both of you stack your tails together. The both of you press your foreheads together. One hand touches the back of your head.
"You've got this little ghoulie," She tells you, "This is your big night. I know we've been doing these for me, but now we get to do this for you."
"Thanks mom," You smile
"Cirrus, Y/n," Cumulus finds the both if you, "In places in 30."
"Just finishing our mother-daughter pre-ritual... Ritual," Cirrus says, beginning to walk to the stage
You follow behind. You stop just at the edge of where backstage meets the stage.
+*+
Cirrus comes backstage and helps you into the keytar.
"Are you sure that this solo should be my debut part?" You ask, as you turn on the instrument and putting one of your in-ear monitors in
"You've shown me that you are ready," She says
Her tail raises your head by the chin, "Don't think about the worst case scenarios. Let the music take your soul and go with it. That's what I do when I play all of my solos."
She reaches over and hands you a helmet. As you look at it, you notice the patch on the right side of the helmet.
"This is yours," You say
"My old one," She clarifies, "It's yours now."
You nod. Putting in the other monitor in, and walk past her, putting on your helmet on in the process. You wait to leave onto the stage until the near-end of the 2nd chorus. As you slowly approach center stage, you see Aurora in your peripherals. You turn your head and see her arm outstretched. You grab it and her fingers interlock with yours, letting go not too long after.
As you approach center stage, Phantom, Sodo and Rain give you a pat on the shoulder.
As the spotlight shines down on you as your fingers trail across the white and black keys, you see how much the fans were smiling. You kneel down to them and try to lean as far as you could; seeing their hands reaching out for you. You smile under your 'under-mask' and stand back up. Just as you turn around, Papa is gently clapping for you. Sodo holds his fist up to you, and you give him a fist bump, running backstage.
You hand the key tar off to one of the keyboard techs and then remove your helmet. You regain your senses and process what you had just done...
+*+
You were going back and forth with performing and taking a break throughout the Ritual.
+*+
You watch your mother and the other ghouls walk backstage. You help the stage hands hand them water. You put your helmet back on but you notice no one walking back out on stage.
"Aren't you all doing an encore?" You ask Papa
"Fuck it," He says, waving you all off, "See you around."
Your mom covers your ears, even though they were still in the helmet.
I'm not a baby anymore mom...
Still...
"No, you must do an encore," Sister Imperator tells him
You don't really listen to her spiel however, the next moment, your mother is dragging you back towards the stage, and up onto her platform. You turn back to your mother as Papa begins chatting with the crowd.
"Shouldn't you be the one behind the keyboards?" You ask
"No," She says, "Go on. I'll be behind you."
You turn back and your hands slowly rise up to the keys. You take a quick breath as Kiss the Go-goat begins.
+*+
Your mind blanks sometime during Dance Macabre... Forgetting to come in, you were trying to find your spot in the song; but to no success. You felt your mother's veiny hands slip under yours.
You little stinker... You forgot again....
Shut up mom...
She slips her hands under yours as she helps you finish the keyboard solo.
"You little stinker, that isn't how you're meant to play piano," Cirrus walks over, "Here."
She hoists you up into the air and seats you onto her lap as she sits in front of the piano with you. She slips her hands underneath your and begins playing.
"I've got you my little ghoul," She whispers
As she continues to play, you turn around in her lap and give her the biggest hug your little ghoul arms could. You look up at her as her eyes travel down to meet yours. Your little self couldn't help but smile. You sure felt lucky to have a mother like Cirrus.
Cirrus plays, however, your mind is in that moment in your youth.
Can you take on the final song without me?
You nod.
Cirrus' hands slip out from under yours as you take control of the lead keys for Square Hammer.
Play the main riff, play the boom sample, play the chords, have fun.
*Cirrus' POV* You watch your daughter as she plays the chords and jumps around... You remember the first time you came out of the pit with Cumulus and couldn't help but feel the sheer joy of playing. She was the spitting image of you...
"Papa... Is she?..." You come up to him
"She's with Sister Imperator in the Nursery," He gestures down the hall
You practically run into the nursery.
"About time Cirrus," She sighs, standing from the chair
You've requested to Sister Imperator for a little ghoul to raise as your own... You requested awhile ago... You just finished tour when you got the letter that she arrived...
"I'll leave you to it," Sister Imperator walks out the door
The other ghouls poked their heads in the doorway...
You kneel onto the ground and wait patiently for her to notice you... However, once she does, she stands... On her own two feet... Walking slowly, but surely towards you...
You remember the feeling of holding her for the first time... Overwhelmed with joy and couldn't help but cry.... Right now, watching her... That same overwhelming feeling of joy and happy tears came back...
My little ghoulie has come so far... I'm so proud of you.
*Y/n's POV* Cirrus leads you off stage. You take off your helmet the second you step backstage. You hand it off to the nearest stage-person and lean against a case... Your heartbeat thrumming against your temples.
"Hey, little ghoulie," Cirrus says, "What's the matter? Are you alright?"
Her fingers reach under your chin and your gaze meets hers. Your legs move faster than your brain creates words as you wrap Cirrus in the biggest hug you can give. Cirrus nearly falls backward however, Cumulus lifts her helmet off of her head.
"Oh, my little ghoulie, what happened?" She asks, caressing your head
"Nothing," You smile, looking up at her, "I just... I realized the last time I got to play piano with you was when I was young..."
Your mind begins running through the memory again and you could only assume that was gong trough her mind as well.
The moment is halted when the both of you hear a thud. The both of you look over and see Sister Imperator on the ground. You walk over and begin looking over her body. Cirrus watches as you come over...
"Don't look honey," Cirrus puts you into her, trying to keep your eyes away
You look over your shoulder as medical professionals attempt to treat Sister Imperator.
+*+
Back at the Clergy, in the den, you sit on your bed... Processing Sister Imperator's death and Papa's promotion to Father Imperator. You don't know what it would mean for your mother... If she, and her other friends will be replaced.
"Y/n?" Cirrus knocks on your doorframe
You look up at her. She notices the look on your face. She walks over and sits herself on the edge of your bed.
"What seems to trouble you?" She asks
"Papa was promoted to Father Imperator," You say, "I'm happy for him, truly but...."
"But?" She leans in
"What would that mean for you and the current ghouls?" You ask, "Will you all be replaced? Where the hell will you all go? What will that mean for me too?! I-I feel like I just started living!..."
*Cirrus' POV* you notice how she was beginning to hyperventilate. You move onto her bed and place your hands on her shoulders.
"Y/n calm down," You tell her
You wrap your arms around her as you attempt to calm her down. Her breathing begins to slow as you console her.
"Whatever happens... Will happen later," You tell her, "But, us ghouls know for sure we aren't going anywhere anytime soon."

Not so much of a question, but I became a fan around this time last year, *right* at the end of the Pre-Imperatour. I’m very jazzed as to how big Ghost has blown up, but man oh man, if I could go back and kick myself in the shins for not catching the Ghost train sooner I would in a heartbeat. I would absolutely kill to see them in the smaller theaters and venues I hold near and dear to my heart that they’ve played in the past.
In five years time someone somewhere will regret not discovering the band today, so savour this moment. Don't dwell too much on what could have been, appreciate having this opportunity to experience Ghost as it currently is. This, too, will be history soon.

From Chapter 11: Family Dinner.
As of now, since 'A Final Gig Named Death' where Copia became Papa Emeritus IV, besides the Pre-Imperatour show at the Target Center, Ghost has done 140 concerts. Counting tonight's ritual in Tennessee, the first Kia Forum show on September 11th will be the 10th show from today. Or the 150th concert, in which no recording is allowed. Have fun with this information :')

⚠️TW/CW flashing colored lights⚠️
Next part of the Elemental Ghoul headcanons. I came up with these during the Pre-Imperatour, and so the characters reflect the band members of that time frame.
The Ghouls are Elemental Demons, but those are terms of convenience. They aren't inherently evil, and in fact originate from an Otherworld that predates the modern concepts of heaven and hell/good and evil.
Their natural forms are that of their Elements. Papa Summons them to inhabit the stage costumes when it's time for them to perform their hymns, which Exhalt, Honor, and Praise the One Below, the Morningstar. They regard this entity not as a ruler or even a creator, but an ancestor, kindred, family. He existed before they did, He's the Force that made them be.

So, we have a new quintessence ghoul and a new multi ghoulette, right?
I do hope Aether will be back. I remember the rumours that he'd left before Pre-Imperatour last year and how upset I was about it. Now? I'm a little sad, yes, but the new guy seems cool and having just right amount of chaotic energy.
Also, the new ghoulette? Can't wait to see pictures and videos of her!

what inspired you to try and write the jukebox musical
While I had been ambiently listening to Ghost (and always enjoying it) since Prequelle came out in 2018, I first started concentratedly listening later that December, after I took my partner to see them in concert. Before that, I'd kind of felt like...I want to listen to this, but it's his thing and I don't want to co-opt His Thing, so I'll just continue to express excitement when he puts this playlist on, etc. But after the concert, I already felt so incredibly moved by what I'd seen and he'd introduced more of the story (read: Sister & Nihil) to me, so I was like...okay, you sonuffabitch, I'm in.
And this was an unprecedented moment in history because typically, you cannot get me to listen to anything else but holiday music in December. I am very strict with myself about only listening to holiday music from like November - the beginning of January, so I don't usually like to waste any time. But then one day while taking the long way home from a coffee date with my (for all intents and purposes) brother-in-law, I put on Prequelle and listened to it by myself. And kind of from that point forward, during my long drives to work (almost two hours each way, the return home trip being typically from 2-4AM/4-6AM), I just kept playing Prequelle over and over again.
I was struck pretty early on with how theatrical/cinematic some of the songs felt, especially as I started to learn more and more of the story. I honestly don't remember which was the first song that stood out to me as something I could clearly envision as as being staged for a musical number - it was either "Life Eternal", "Faith", or "Pro Memoria". Maybe "Witch Image", too, because I'd already been introduced to the idea that it could be from Sister's POV re: Copia. But all of a sudden, I had like four or five scenes in my head that would play out every single time I heard these songs and I couldn't stop thinking about it. "Faith" was now Sister's angry second act solo, yelling at all her dissenters in a way reminiscent of "J'accuse mon père" from Mozart l'opera rock. "Pro Memoria" is now performed as a choral hymn at the end of the second act to show the passage of time before we enter the Ghost era. And so on.
Then, of course, there was an early-on place for "Cirice", since the music video was (to me) clearly about Sister & Nihil meeting. At some point, "Absolution" also jumped out as very clearly being about Sister's trials and tribulations to gain power as a child/young woman. "Year Zero" was the incredibly clever second half of the "Dance Macabre" video's events.
I got a new job in 2019 that involved a lot of out of state travel, so I had a ton of time to sit on a plane and listen through a playlist I was puzzling together to see what sounded right where and what was missing. I spent a lot of weekends sitting at a merch table completely by myself, so I started making notes. Winter through summer of 2019 was when I did most of my work on the outline, but I knew it wasn't finished yet because there were very specific things that were missing from the catalogue for story moments. Seven Inches dropped and filled some of those gaps. And after that, I knew there'd eventually be a new album to fill the rest of them.
And I was right!! The first time I heard "Kaisarion", the first night of the Pre-Imperatour, before I even knew the words, I was like oh, this is the first song in the musical. (Well, technically, the second. "Miasma" is the first, as a staged overture.)
So, I don't know. The tl;dr answer, I guess, is overinvestment in what quickly became my new favourite thing of all time, the fact that I had a lot of time to myself due to both work travel and some negative upheavals in my relationships with the people I was closest to at the time, and sweet, sweet autism baybeeee. It also didn't help that around the same time, I was shown Smash for the first time and had a lot of input on the process of writing/creating a musical from what quickly became one of my favourite TV shows.
(And also Megan Hilty would be a perfect young Sister.)
