Maybe I should remake a tumblr account and just post art and follow people I already because
A) I follow 800 people on here. No way am I gonna vibe check all of them
B) my reputation is ruined on this hellsite and the person who did it has faced no consequences
C) tumblr was bad for my own health. I was addicted and i had Those Not Good Distressing Thoughts That I Should Talk To A Therapist About while I was on the site. See reason B.
D) posting art on here seems to get more attention than twitter.
E) I'd probably only check tumblr once a week and post only when I have a drawing.
F) not exactly a reason but god fuck the TES fandom on this site. thanks For the gaslighting on one part, the stalking on another probably, and the harassment campaign. i had everything and then it was all taken away from me. Fuck every single one of you.
it's almost 6am and I didn't get a wink of sleep and I have work today. Maybe that’s why I'm so salty. whatever

I’m not a text post on tumblr kind of person but I have like no social media anymore and so few outlets to really express how fucked up I am after this entire Steelers season. This game tonight. These last 4 games. Benjamin. Why. My god. 4 interceptions. Dear sweet lord. The first 4 seconds of the game. For why? This is what Pouncey came back for? My heart. And now what? Like we’re gonna get some Jets quarterback next season? Is that what it’s come to? Is this what’s happened to my beloved 11-0 boys? Tomlin, my boy. Are you ok? Am I ok? Im not. I’m so sad. I’m disappointed. This is how Ben ends his career? Sitting on the bench looking fat and sad and lonely? Turning over the ball like he doesn’t want it? To the fucking Browns? This is what’s happened to us? My god. I’m going the fuck to sleep.

alistair theirin, cat-sitter
fandom: dragon age rating: G characters: alistair, zevran, isabela, merrill, morrigan words: 3k additional tags: modern au, fluff, humor description: alistair ends up cat-sitting ser pounce-a-lot for the weekend. everything is fine, except that he knows nothing about cats—and to make matters worse, he’s pretty sure ser pounce-a-lot hates him. a/n: i’m back lmao i’ll be done reposting these soon. this was written for @compulsive-elfrootpicker for a wintersend exchange! their warden reina cousland is mentioned briefly so that’s who that is :-)
read it on ao3
This is not what Alistair had expected when Reina asked him to take care of a cat for the weekend.
It’s not even Reina’s cat; it’s Reina’s friend’s cat—Anders is the guy’s name, if Alistair remembers correctly. Apparently, Reina had agreed to watch Ser Pounce-a-Lot for the weekend while Anders was away, before realizing at the last minute that she was also going away for the weekend. Cue a panicked phone call late Thursday evening in which Reina asked Alistair to be the substitute cat-sitter, and Alistair agreed despite knowing next to nothing about cats. “Surely they can’t be that much different from dogs,” he’d assured himself. It should be fine, right? Right?
Wrong.
It’s only been about ten minutes since Reina dropped off Ser Pounce-a-Lot at Alistair’s apartment. In that time, Pounce has shredded Alistair’s curtains, knocked over several cups, and pissed on the kitchen floor despite knowing full well how to use the litter box, which Alistair had placed right near the back door to the balcony. Granted, it could be worse—at least the cups are all plastic and didn’t break, and at least Pounce didn’t piss on the carpet, and Alistair has been meaning to get some new curtains anyway—but still.
“What do you want from me?” Alistair asks the cat, who is standing on top of the kitchen table and swishing his tail back and forth. He’s just finished cleaning everything up, but there are bound to be plenty more messes at this rate.
Ser Pounce-a-Lot meows, but Alistair doesn’t speak cat, so he has no idea what that means. “It was a rhetorical question,” he says. Pounce hisses and uses his hind paws to slide his collar off of his neck. Alistair sighs.
It’s only Friday afternoon. Reina won’t be back to pick up the cat until Sunday evening. Clearly Alistair isn’t going to survive until then without some help, so he does the only thing he can think of to do: he calls Zevran.
Zevran Arainai is not usually the first person Alistair calls in the event of an emergency. That would be Wynne—she’s a sensible woman who has lived a lot longer than Alistair, and she’s very good at being “the adult” in any given situation. Alas, she’s apparently busy all weekend—if she’d been available, Reina would’ve asked her to watch Ser Pounce-a-Lot instead of Alistair.
The second person Alistair calls in the event of an emergency is Reina, but obviously that won’t do any good in this case. The third person would be Leliana, but she’s visiting family in Orlais; thus, by default, Zevran is the next person on his list, because Sten and Morrigan both scare him, and he trusts Oghren with a cat even less than he trusts himself.
Alistair’s conversations with Zevran normally take place over text when not in person, but this is an emergency, and he’s not going to risk being left on read when there’s a cat loose in his apartment who seems bent on giving him the headache of a lifetime. Luckily, Zevran picks up on the third ring. “Hello? Alistair?”
“Zevran!” Alistair says, breathing a sigh of relief. “Look, I know you probably have plans this evening, but I’m having a bit of an emergency and I need you to come over as soon as you can.”
“An emergency?” Zevran repeats. He sounds like he’s not sure whether to be concerned or amused. “What sort of emergency are we talking about? Do I need to call an ambulance?”
Alistair snorts. “Zevran, if I needed to call an ambulance, I would’ve called it before I called you.”
“Alright, fair enough,” Zevran replies. “Just let me put my pants back on, and then Isabela and I will be right over.”
“You—what?” Alistair says, but it’s too late; Zevran has already hung up.
Alistair shakes his head and turns back to the kitchen table—except Ser Pounce-a-Lot is not where Alistair last saw him. “Ser Pounce-a-Lot?” he calls, looking back and forth between the table and the counters. “Pouncey?”
It’s no use. Ser Pounce-a-Lot is nowhere in the kitchen—Alistair figures that out pretty quickly just by checking the cabinets and the pantry. The cat is gone, and he clearly doesn’t bow to Alistair, so it’s unlikely that he’ll return just at the sound of his name. “Blast it,” Alistair mutters. This day is just getting worse and worse by the second.
Alistair heads into the living room, checking behind and under furniture and even lifting up the couch cushions, to no avail. Beginning to grow desperate, he runs to the bathroom, searching under the sink and behind the shower curtain and even in the (closed) toilet, just in case Pounce somehow lifted up the lid and crawled inside. Nothing.
Alistair is in the process of tearing his bedroom apart when he hears Zevran’s voice singsonging, “Alistair! Oh, Alistair!”
“Yes!” Alistair calls as he digs through his closet. “I’m back here!”
A few seconds later, Alistair hears two pairs of footsteps behind him in the messy room. He glances over his shoulder to find Zevran and his friend-with-benefits, Isabela, both staring at him with their eyebrows raised in confusion. “What is the emergency?” Zevran asks coolly.
Alistair turns around to face them, running a hand through his hair. “Okay, so Reina agreed to watch some guy’s cat for the weekend, but then she realized that she was also going away for the weekend, so she pawned the cat off on me to babysit. Except the cat is a monster who hates me and I don’t know how to take care of it, and also since I called you I have discovered that the monster-cat has gone missing.”
“Wait,” Isabela says, holding a hand up. “Whose cat is it again?”
Now it’s Alistair’s turn to raise an eyebrow in confusion. “Err...I’m not quite sure why that matters, but I think his name’s Anders?”
Isabela gasps and claps a hand over her mouth. “I knew it! You’re watching Ser Pounce-a-Lot!”
Alistair shrugs helplessly. “Well, I was. How do you even know this guy?”
“I met him through a mutual friend,” Isabela says. “He gets around, it seems, despite the fact that he’s kind of a hermit.”
Zevran, meanwhile, is typing something in his phone, a half-smirk on his face. Alistair narrows his eyes. “What are you doing?”
“I am adding this to my list of ridiculous reasons Alistair has called me,” Zevran replies with a laugh. “Do not worry, my friend. We shall find this Ser Pounce-a-Lot in no time.”
“You have a list?” Alistair says, before shaking his head. “You know what? Never mind. We have more important issues here. Number one being that I’ve had the cat for less than half an hour and I’ve already lost him. I checked the whole apartment, every hiding place I could think of, and I haven’t found anything.”
“Hmm. You never know,” Zevran says thoughtfully as he puts his phone back in his pocket. “Cats can be very quick and sneaky. Maybe he keeps moving to different hiding spots like a game of tag.”
“A game of hide-and-seek tag,” Isabela adds. “If we split up, we might be able to find him.”
“Yes. Good idea,” Alistair agrees, so with that, Zevran and Isabela rush out of the bedroom to search other areas of the apartment.
Alistair investigates every part of the bedroom and bathroom multiple times, with no success. When the three reconvene in the living room after a solid ten minutes, he can tell by his friends’ expressions that they didn’t find the cat, either.
“I don’t get it,” Alistair says. “I didn’t leave the front door open or anything. How did he get out?”
At that, Zevran awkwardly gestures toward the kitchen. “Alistair, I have a question,” he says slowly. “Was that window always open?”
Oh, no. Alistair nearly sprints into the kitchen, his eyes resting on an open window right above the kitchen counter. He’d opened it earlier in the daytime because it got hot in the apartment and he’d needed some air. Now the spring breeze blowing peacefully through the window seems to mock him.
Alistair rests his elbows on the counter and then buries his head in his hands, groaning and swearing under his breath. “Maker, I’m so stupid.”
“Well, Isabela knows the fellow who owns the cat,” Zevran says reassuringly, doing his best to remain optimistic about the whole situation. “That will probably come in handy.”
Isabela laughs nervously. “Um, actually, it might not.”
That is not what Alistair wanted to hear. “What? Why not?”
Isabela crosses her arms. “He loves that cat. If he even suspected that something bad happened to it, he’d probably—I don’t know—magic us to death.”
Zevran snorts. “I believe the phrase you are looking for is ‘kill us with fire,’ my dear.”
“Wait,” Alistair says, an automatic reaction. “Anders is a mage?”
“Oh. Yeah,” Isabela says nonchalantly. “Why?”
Alistair shakes his head and reminds himself that it’s not relevant. “Oh. No reason, I guess. I used to be a templar. Well, I left before I could actually take my vows, but I have all the abilities.”
Isabela’s eyes widen, as if she’s just suddenly put two and two together. “Are you serious?”
“Err...yes?” Alistair says, eyeing her with confusion. “What about it?”
“I think Anders somehow teaches his cats to like mages and dislike templars,” Isabela explains. “Or maybe they just learn the behavior by being around him. At any rate, they seem to be able to...sense that sort of thing.” She shrugs. “I don’t know. I don’t know a whole lot about magic and such.” Then she smirks a little, her eyes twinkling playfully. “But that would explain why Ser Pounce disliked you so much.”
Zevran practically cackles. “Oh, the thought of a cat shredding your curtains because you’re a templar!” he crows.
“I was a templar,” Alistair corrects. “But if the cat likes mages and dislikes templars...do you think he may have wandered off to a mage’s house?”
A lightbulb seems to appear over Isabela’s head. “That’s it!” she exclaims. “I know where to look for him. There’s a mage girl who lives just down the street, and he can’t have gone too far.”
Zevran snatches a bag of cat treats off the kitchen table, probably to entice Pounce to come back. “Well, what are we waiting for?” he says, shaking the bag. “Let’s go cat-hunting!”
With that, the three all rush out the door. They don’t bother with the elevator (since Alistair lives on the third floor of his apartment building); Alistair practically leaps down the stairs, Zevran slides down the railing, and Isabela sprints faster than Alistair thought was possible in knee-high boots. They probably look strange running through the lobby and bursting through the front doors. Isabela leads them across the parking lot and onto the sidewalk, heading in the direction of the downtown area.
Any thoughts about how it might have been faster to take the car vanish when Alistair sees the bumper-to-bumper traffic. It’s late afternoon on a Friday; it would’ve taken them ten minutes just to get out of the parking lot. Besides, they’re pedestrians, so they have the right-of-way at every crosswalk.
It’s not long before they arrive at a quaint little white townhouse with a rocking chair and several potted plants on the porch. Isabela bangs on the door several times, yelling, “Merrill!”
A few moments later, the door opens, revealing a small elven girl with black hair and tattoos on her face. “Isabela!” she says cheerfully, sounding pleasantly surprised. “What brings you here? And who are they?” She gestures toward Alistair and Zevran.
“Some friends,” Isabela replies quickly. “Listen—did you happen to see an orange tabby cat recently? Like, within the past forty-five minutes or so?”
Merrill’s eyes light up. “Yes, actually! A cat that looked just like that came scratching at the door maybe fifteen minutes ago. I gave him some pieces of cucumber and he sat with me on the porch for a little, but then he left.”
“He left?” Alistair repeats in a panic.
“Merrill,” Isabela says slowly, “that was Ser Pounce-a-Lot. Anders’s cat.”
Merrill covers her mouth with her hand. Clearly she knows Anders, too. “Ohhh,” she says, her cheeks flushing pink. “I knew he looked familiar. But he wasn’t wearing his collar, so I wasn’t sure.”
Alistair mentally smacks himself, remembering the way Pounce had removed his own collar with ease. Alistair hadn’t bothered to put it back on him.
“Oh, Merrill,” Isabela says with a sigh, but there’s not a trace of malice in her voice (in fact, Alistair thinks he might actually hear a bit of endearment).
“The last I saw him,” Merrill adds, “he was headed down toward Korcari Street. Fast, too.” She giggles a little. “He was a cat on a mission. As if he had somewhere very important to be.”
Alistair and Zevran exchange glances. They only know one mage who lives on Korcari Street. “Morrigan!” they say in unison.
Alistair throws his hands up in the air. “She hates animals!” he yelps. “She’ll kill him! Skin him alive, eat him for dinner, then use his bones as kindling!”
Upon hearing this, Isabela grimaces and says, “Well, we’d better be going, Merrill. Got a cat to save and all that. Bye!”
Without another word, she turns around and leaps down the steps, Zevran following her. Alistair shoots Merrill a glance and says, “Thanks.” Then he turns around and runs after Isabela and Zevran.
“Oh! Um, no problem?” Merrill says from behind him. Isabela will have a lot of explaining to do later, it seems.
As they rush to Korcari Street (earning strange looks from passersby as they shove their way through crowds and cross streets when they’re not supposed to), Zevran says, “I have to say, Isabela, I am surprised.”
“Surprised about what?” Isabela asks, raising an eyebrow.
“You always go on about how selfish you are,” Zevran says smugly, “yet here you are, helping Alistair with his cat predicament without expecting anything in return.”
“Oh, come on,” Isabela replies defensively. “I’m only doing this because I don’t want Anders to kill me. That’s all.”
“Hmm,” Zevran says, clearly unconvinced. “From what I’ve gathered, Anders still thinks that Reina is the one taking care of the cat. If anything were to happen to him, it would be on her head, and maybe Alistair’s. Not yours.”
“I—well, I just had to make sure that—shut up.” Her cheeks turn pink, and Zevran laughs.
This time, when they reach Morrigan’s townhouse, Alistair is the one who pounds his fists on the door and shouts, “Morrigan!”
“She may not answer to you,” Zevran says. “Let me try.” Taking a deep breath, he cups his hands around his mouth and calls, “Morrigan! O magical temptress, I beseech thee!”
The sound of the front door slamming open stops Zevran from continuing his speech. “What?” Morrigan snaps, looking even grumpier and more terrifying than usual. “First a cat, and now this.”
“A cat!” Zevran exclaims. “That is what we’re here for!”
“Please tell me it’s still alive,” Alistair adds.
As if on cue, an orange tabby cat appears from behind Morrigan, rubbing himself against her legs and purring. Morrigan rolls her eyes and lightly pushes him away with her foot. “Shoo,” she says with a scowl.
“Pouncey!” Alistair cheers, a wave of relief washing over him at the sight of Ser Pounce-a-Lot all in one piece.
Morrigan raises an eyebrow, probably at the name. “I was not aware you had a cat, Alistair.”
“Oh, I don’t,” Alistair says quickly. “He’s not mine. I’m just...cat-sitting. Except apparently this cat really likes mages and really doesn’t like templars.”
Morrigan snorts. “Explains why he thought I would be a good person to visit.”
“Why did you even let him in, if you hate animals so much?” Zevran asks.
“I didn’t,” Morrigan says. “I opened my door to see what all the scratching was about, and he ran inside before I could stop him.”
“Well, uh, we’ll take him off your hands,” Alistair says, crouching down to pick up Ser Pounce-a-Lot. Pounce hisses and doesn’t move from Morrigan’s side.
“Go,” Morrigan tells him, sounding exasperated. “I have other things to deal with. This man will not harm you.”
Pounce meows at her. Alistair thinks the cat almost sounds unsure.
“He is an ex-templar,” Morrigan continues with another roll of her eyes. “He never actually took his vows. Now go.”
Alistair holds back his laughter at the sight of Morrigan trying to reason with a cat. Ser Pounce-a-Lot trots out the door, but instead of heading toward Alistair, he stops at Isabela’s feet.
Isabela laughs a little. “It’s because he knows me,” she says. Then, to Ser Pounce-a-Lot, she adds, “Fine. I’ll carry you, you spoiled little furball.”
Ser Pounce-a-Lot meows approvingly as Isabela picks him up. “Well, err...sorry for bothering you,” Alistair says awkwardly to Morrigan. She glares at him, but—if he isn’t seeing things—he swears that her eyes betray something akin to amusement beneath the irritation and hostility.
“Try not to do it again,” Morrigan says with a hint of a smirk.
Alistair sticks his tongue out at her. Behind him, Zevran snickers.
They take their time walking back to Alistair’s apartment. “So,” Alistair says slowly, “we found Ser Pounce-a-Lot, but something tells me he’s going to keep making trouble.”
Zevran raises an eyebrow. “Is this your way of asking us if we would like to sleep over? I graciously accept.”
Alistair can feel his cheeks heating up. “Well, I mean, if you want—”
Zevran holds up his index finger and presses it lightly against Alistair’s lips. “Nonsense. I will not abandon my good friend Alistair in his time of need. I assume you have no objections, Isabela?”
After a short pause, Isabela, still carrying Ser Pounce-a-Lot, says, “None. But I reserve the right to leave whenever I want.”
“But of course,” Zevran says. “It has been decided. Ser Pounce-a-Lot will not stand a chance against us!”
Alistair smiles and shakes his head. It’s going to be a long and interesting weekend for sure.

It was disturbingly easy to watch as the state put Aileen Wuornos to death
Published October 10, 2002 STARKE -- Even for the witnesses, there was no escape. At 9:28 a.m., a guard shut the door we had just walked through and locked it from the inside. All of Florida State Prison was on lockdown Wednesday morning, the exercise yards and work fields eerily empty beneath a low gray sky. All of the roughly 1,200 inmates housed here -- except one -- were in their cells. Now the room where we'd watch Aileen Wuornos die was sealed, too. The guard pointed me to a seat in the last of four rows. There were 29 people in the room, including six relatives of Wuornos' victims, 12 journalists, a state prosecutor and various Department of Corrections officials. We sat ramrod straight, staring at the brown curtain that separated the large viewing window from the execution chamber. Two speakers were mounted on opposite ends of the wall above the window. All was silent, except for the hum of a Friedrich air conditioner set on low cool in the rear corner. We were a captive audience, brought together to witness the aptly bizarre end of a twisted life. We had different viewpoints, different roles, different feelings, but for 20 excruciatingly long minutes, we sat together as a killer was killed. There wasn't an inattentive eye in the house. But after the ritualized pageant was over, after she stiffened and turned blue and two men with stethoscopes leaned over her body and officially pronounced her dead at 9:47 a.m., I didn't feel nearly as disturbed as I would have thought. And that was disturbing in itself. At 9:29 a.m., the curtain opened. Wuornos was strapped onto a gurney, with a needle leading to two intravenous tubes poked into the fleshy bend of her right arm. Her mouth and lips were moving, but we could not hear. The microphone dangling above her was off, our wall speakers mute. Her eyes were open, darting to the side from her restrained head to quickly survey the witness room. "She seemed a little surprised to see so many people," Terri Griffith, who sat in the front row, said later. Her father, Charles Humphreys, was one of seven men Wuornos confessed to murdering. "I know she appreciated the attention." Wuornos was tucked beneath a white sheet, which was folded with military precision under her feet and around her neck and shoulders. She looked like a made bed. The only visible parts of her body: her head and her right arm. Final statement The digital clock on the wall above her changed to 9:30. The microphone was turned on. "Do you have a final statement?" she was asked. "Yes," she said. "I'd just like to say I'm sailing with the Rock, and I'll be back. Like Independence Day with Jesus, June 6, just like the movie, big mother ship and all. I'll be back." She spoke in a barely audible voice, with speech that seemed slurred even though officials said she did not request or receive a sedative in her final hours. I could hardly make out a word, the low volume and air conditioner causing those of us in the back corner to exchange horrified glances and whisper, "What'd she say? I couldn't hear." Later, on the van ride back to the media area, those closer to the speakers helped to reconstruct her words. As to what they meant, nobody could figure that out. "She was off her rocker," Griffith said. "She's totally off the wall," said Wanda Pouncey of Boynton Beach, whose father, Troy Burress, was killed by Wuornos. That conclusion was echoed by British filmmaker Nick Broomfield, who made a documentary about Wuornos and is working on another. He had the final interview with her on Tuesday. After complaining about the "sonic waves" that were controlling her mind, she flipped him off and stormed out of the session prematurely. "She's obsessed and crazed, has totally lost her mind," Broomfield said. "She trusts nobody and is stark raving mad. She's multiple people. Every time I met her, she was a different person." It's a point that Fort Lauderdale attorney Raag Singhal made, to no avail, in a letter to the Florida Supreme Court last month. Singhal represented Wuornos earlier this year, but they weren't on speaking terms at the end. She was found competent to be executed after a psychiatric evaluation last week. I traveled with Singhal to Starke, then found myself boarding the van to the witness room when two journalists didn't claim their spots. As second alternate in the media lottery, I thought I'd be covering this execution from outside. But at 9:30 a.m., when it came time for the matter of the State of Florida vs. Wuornos to reach its conclusion after 12 years, I got to see it for myself. The woman who once said she'd kill again because she had "hate crawling through her system," now had a chemical cocktail coursing through her veins. The executioner, who could not be seen behind a two-way mirror, first released two syringes of sodium pentothol, which rendered her unconscious. Then came two syringes of pancuronium bromide, which paralyzed the muscles, and two syringes of potassium chloride, which stopped the heart. The next 17 minutes were agonizingly slow, and she didn't move a muscle, although her heart fluttered a bit on the monitors until she completely flat-lined. Then the doctors in white coats came out. The curtain was drawn, the door was unlocked and we filed back outside to the vans that would take us back to the rest of our lives. I made it home in time for dinner. Simple ritual No matter how you feel about the death penalty, watching another human being get put to death is not supposed to be easy. But this was all so smooth, so clinical, so antiseptic, that it was disturbingly easy. Too easy for everyone. Victims' relatives thought it was too easy for Wuornos, whose chest heaved once and whose eyes shut before reopening ever so slightly, in tiny slits, after the lethal mix of chemicals pumped through her veins. With vengeance and bloodlust, some relatives said they wanted to see her suffer more, preferably in the electric chair with flames and smoke shooting. It was too easy for Gov. Jeb Bush, who carried out two executions on consecutive Wednesdays a month before an election. Rigoberto Sanchez-Velasco came last week, Wuornos this week. It was an especially distasteful coincidence considering there hadn't been an execution since January 2001 and there are now major constitutional issues concerning the death penalty in Florida that should be sorted out by courts. And it's too easy to say Wuornos was evil incarnate, unrepentant and a willing participant in her own death. She was all those things, but she was also obviously mentally ill. After hearing her final statement and hearing about her bizarre behavior, I don't know how any civilized society can take satisfaction in proclaiming her mentally fit before putting her down like a rabid dog. Outside, somebody later remarked that anyone who kills more than one person is probably inherently insane. Florida has killed 53 people since the death penalty resumed in 1976, administered in a way that often seems arbitrary and unfair. What does that make us?

Najee Harris: ‘The Line Is What It Is’, But ‘I Believe In Whoever’s In Front Of Me’
Tumblr media
Basically only one person who was intimately involved in the orchestration of the running game last season is returning last year, and that is Chukwuma Okorafor, who began 2020 as a backup but had to start 16 games on the right side due to injury. Nobody else along the offensive line who was intended to start actually managed to start more that one game. The offensive coordinator is gone. The offensive line coach is gone. The lead running back is gone. Najee Harris, the first-round back out of Alabama, is now the face of the running game. He’s still learning the faces of his offensive linemen, and that seems to be changing based on availability on a daily basis in practice. Okorafor, Kevin Dotson, Zach Banner, and even Trai Turner have sat out practices. Kendrick Green did have one excused absence to attend a funeral. “The line is what it is. It is what it is”, Harris told reporters about the men who are responsible for blocking for him. “Like I said, my job is to do what I can every run to help out the team. My job is to do everything I can to create better situations so we can be in better downs and distance for the team”. “I believe in whoever’s in front of me, no matter who it is. Right now, we’re just breaking bread, getting used to everybody”, he added, “but it’s my job to create something when it’s nothing there, and it’s my job to hit the holes when something is there. There’s gonna be something there. It ain’t like I’m playing with scrubs or nothing like that. It’s just my job, really”. Since last season, the Steelers have lost four starters, with Maurkice Pouncey retiring, Alejandro Villanueva and Matt Feiler leaving in free agency, and David DeCastro let go after having an MRI that revealed he would need surgery; he is now contemplating retirement. Banner is the only intended starter from last season returning, and he is coming off a torn ACL he suffered in the opener, his first career start. Okorafor played extensively last year, but, again, was intended to be a reserve, and will now be playing on the left side as opposed to the right. And neither of them have done much team work since training camp opened. Nor has Dotson, the second-year guard who started four games last season and is projected to play on the left side. Green is a third-round rookie projected to start at center, while Turner is a former Pro Bowler signed as a free agent to replace DeCastro the same day he was released. Harris is right in saying that the line is what it is, but we just don’t know what it is just yet. We can probably safely assume, though that they will deal with some growing pains at the start of the season as they try to come together as a unit.

Top Plays: Super Wild Card Sunday
There may be nothing fairly like playoff soccer.
NFL Super Wild Card Saturday supplied the entire pleasure and jaw-dropping performs you might have come to count on from the NFL postseason, and the excellent news is we get to do it over again for Tremendous Wild Card Sunday.
The No. 5 Baltimore Ravens and No. 4 Tennessee Titans face off first in a rematch of final 12 months’s AFC Divisional Spherical matchup, after which the No. 2 New Orleans Saints play host to the No. 7 Chicago Bears, adopted by the No. 3 Pittsburgh Steelers going through the No. 6 Cleveland Browns.
Fast rating for Cleveland
Simply 14 seconds into the sport, Mike Pouncey overshot Ben Roethlisberger on the snap, and the Browns went in for a straightforward scoop and rating.
The web could not consider it.
One other Pittsburgh turnover
For those who blinked, you may need missed it.
Only a few performs later, Cleveland’s M.J. Stewart Jr. picked off Roethlisberger on the Pittsburgh 46-yard line.
Baker Mayfield would capitalize simply three performs later with a brief cross to Jarvis Landry, who dashed 40 yards for the landing.
The Browns held a 14-0 lead just a little over 5 minutes into the primary quarter.
My phrase, three turnovers!
Nonetheless in the primary quarter, Huge Ben was once more intercepted – this time by Sheldrick Redwine – who took it 30 yards into purple zone territory.
Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt mixed for carries, as Hunt scrambled eight yards for his second rating of the night time.
A delicate reminder this was all within the first quarter.
Hunt had the social media world ablaze.
By no means too many takeaways
This marked the third Ben Roethlisberger interception. Cleveland’s Vincent Taylor tipped it and Porter Gustin picked it on the Browns’ 47-yard line.
Steelers rating some factors
Pittsburgh took 12 performs to drive 89 yards, capped off by a 1-yard stroll into the tip zone from James Conner, with just a little over 5 minutes remaining within the second quarter for its first factors of the day.
Browns chew again
Then Cleveland, on the following possession, answered with a landing of its personal. Baker Mayfield discovered a large open Austin Hooper for a 7-yard rating, extending the lead.
At half, the Browns had been up 35-10.
Shut, however no cigar
Within the playoffs, if a staff has an opportunity to make an enormous play down the sector, extra instances than not they’ll take that probability.
The Bears took that probability, however vast receiver Javon Wims dropped a for certain landing that stalled their drive.
The drop was so stunning that it instantly grew to become the subject of dialog on Twitter.
Stress busts pipes
The Chicago cross rush is without doubt one of the staples of its protection, producing large quantities of stress on opposing quarterbacks.
That stress led to an interception from Saints quarterback Taysom Hill within the second quarter that finally led to a discipline aim for the Bears.
Cannot guard Mike
It has been an injury-riddled 12 months for Saints All-Professional vast receiver Michael Thomas, with him solely showing in seven video games, the final being on Dec. 13 towards the Philadelphia Eagles.
Nonetheless, Thomas made up for misplaced time within the first quarter towards the Bears, scoring an 11-yard landing, his first rating in 385 days.
He even made just a little historical past within the course of.
Allen Robinson comes out scorching
The Bears have not been capable of finding the tip zone but, however their offense got here out firing to start out the second half.
Mitchell Trubisky related with Robinson on second-and-10, shifting the chains with a 21-yard catch, as Robinson confirmed off his elite palms.
The web was impressed.
The drive the Saints wanted
Drew Brees took 12 performs to drive 85 yards down the sector for one more rating to increase the lead.
The spotlight of the collection got here from a play on third-and-4, when Brees hit Michael Thomas for a 38-yard achieve.
To complete it off, Brees improvised below stress, unloading a pitch cross to Latavius Murray, who stormed in for six.
Sport-breaking pace by Lamar Jackson
In a half the place the Titans did an excellent job of containing Lamar Jackson, all it took was one play for the dynamic quarterback to indicate why he’s the reigning NFL MVP.
This unbelievable 48-yard landing run tied the sport for the Ravens …
… and simulataneously set social media on hearth.
Marcus Peters doing Marcus Peters issues
Our very personal Michael Vick predicted that the matchup between Ravens’ cornerback Marcus Peters and Titans’ receiver A.J. Brown may very well be the matchup that decides this AFC Wild Card matchup.
And within the fourth quarter, Peters sealed the win for the Ravens with an interception whereas shadowing Brown.
A.J. Brown makes his presence felt early
Titans Professional Bowl vast receiver A.J. Brown drew the matchup of the Ravens’ prime cornerback in Marlon Humphrey, however on the Titans’ second drive, Brown proved that was no downside.
First, he snagged this over the shoulder catch for a 28-yard completion.
After which he capped the drive off with a 10-yard landing reception – each catches coming with Humphrey overlaying him.
This appears to be like acquainted
Malcolm Butler getting an interception in an enormous playoff sport – what else is new?
He first made a reputation for himself with a game-sealing interception towards the Seattle Seahawks as a member of the New England Patriots in Tremendous Bowl XLIX, and now, six years later, he’s nonetheless racking up turnovers within the postseason.
The Titans turned this interception right into a discipline aim to take a 10-0 lead – a deficit Lamar Jackson has by no means overcome in his profession with the Ravens. However his huge speeding TD above was a great way to attempt to shake off that development.
Keep tuned for extra updates.

I am not coming back
Hi!
I’ve made a post on my TES blog, which is still getting followers, about this.  So, I know I said I was taking a break from tumblr, but I’ve decided to not return.  I had this blog since 2014-15, when I was 11. I experienced a lot of shit. Wild ride. I’m 16 now. Yeah, I’m leaving because of the callout post and this site doesn’t feel relevant to me anymore. This site kinda ruined my development. Curiosity/freedom/sneakiness from being monitored so much as a kid does that to you. I guess I sound like a boomer preaching about the dangers of the internet, but my neurodiversity that made me unable to make friends in person instead made me like this. Oh well. Anyway. A month ago I met this 13 year old girl who talked about how tumblr was her life with fandoms and stuff, and I genuinely felt bad and worried for her.  so. Yeah? It was kinda fun on this site for awhile but it got into a cycle where I was constantly trying to catch up on posts for all 815 blogs I follow, even scrolling through the night before so I wouldn’t miss anything. It felt like an addiction.  but here I go to do the exact thing on twitter. But it feels different. I don’t feel as attached to being in the know.  anyway, uh. Those of you following me who I’ve made really close friends with, find me on twitter. @theonetruegoon. I make a lot of funney posts and I’m more mentally stable I guess
Also, some updates since I left this site:
I found out that my autoimmune disease means that I experience chronic pain. I still feel privileged to say that about myself fully, since the pain isn’t that dehabilitating, but yeah.  I’ve started watching JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. It’s good so far, and it’s my first hyperfixation that isn’t TES related in a looooong time.  I’m writing an album. Ive called it Alex Against a Militia. It’s a fictional story about a person who tries to stand up to a militia. I don’t have any full songs written yet, but it’s a start I made some really good friends, too, both irl and online. And I think there’s hope for my shitty social skills.
Yeah it’s like 1am so I’m really emotional and impulsive so sorry lol
Anyway bye follow my twitter and stan uhhhhhhhhh whoever I stan

Kendrick Green A ‘Great Fit’ For The Steelers, According To Tyson Alualu
Tumblr media
Much anticipation and hype continues to surround Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie center Kendrick Green, who has looked rather strong in the initial phase of 2021 training camp at Heinz Field. So strong, in fact, that veteran defensive tackle Tyson Alualu heaped praise on the young third-round draft pick following Friday night’s practice, stating that Green seems to be a “great fit” for the Steelers’ offense and the transition along the offensive line following the retirement of center Maurkice Pouncey, the release of David Decastro, and the departures of Alejandro Villanueva and Matt Feiler in free agency. Alualu knows better than most, considering he’s gone against Green in the trenches each day and has seen the athleticism, power and nastiness up close and personal. What stands out the most to Alualu so far is Green’s athleticism, which fits well into the center position in Pittsburgh’s new-look rushing attack. “Oh, well, he’s very, very athletic; very fast,” Alualu said. “You know, he can get to our edge quick. So, you know, that’s definitely a plus for him. So I think he’s a great fit in this and this offense and just, you know, for this team. I think he’ll definitely do what’s right by playing his position. “He made it here. He belongs here, everybody that’s here on this field worked to get to this point,” Alualu added. He’s definitely put himself in the position to get drafted by the Steelers and, you know, be our center. So, he definitely belongs here. He has all the talents and abilities to the play center and we’re just excited for his growth in this league. He’s only going to get better.” That’s high praise coming from a the 11-year veteran with 172 career games under his belt. The excitement for Green should be high, considering the athleticism and overall nastiness he brings to the center of the offensive line, along with the number the is sporting in Pittsburgh. Though he wears the 53 of Pouncey a few months after the longtime Steeler great retired, Alualu would not compare the two when prompted by reporters, stating that they’re not comparable, and that it’s not fair to try and compare any young center to Pouncey. “It’s not fair. It’s not even fair to compare to Pouncey, a Hall of Fame player, all around great player both on and off the field,” Alualu said. “So, you know, now I’m happy I got the chance to play with him, but, it’s kind of unfair to compare it to Pouncey. But, you know, he has so much in store for him. This is just the beginning. So, only time will tell.” Only time will tell if Green is the right man for the job post-Pouncey, as Alualu points out. So far, the returns have been good on the young Illinois product.

There’s been a lot of talk about Tom Brady‘s future this season, and whether he plans on continuing to play with the Patriots beyond 2019. Set to be a free agent after this season, there have been rumors Brady could wind up with a different team. A recent Adam Schefter report indicated retirement was also an option, although that would be at odds with Brady’s stated desire to play until he’s 45. According to his longtime friend and personal trainer Alex Guerrero, he could go well beyond that. Guerrero made a recent radio appearance on WEEI, and made it sound like Brady doesn’t plan on stepping away anytime soon. “No one thought you could play at the elite level in your late 30s, early 40s. That is something we always felt we could do. I have really wanted to be there to help him accomplish that goal. I certainly do believe that 45 is a very realistic goal,” Guerrero said. “We talk about it all the time. Every year he just adds another year. He goes in and he’s like, ‘Guys, I feel so good still. I think I am going to go till 45.’ I am like, ‘OK.’ Now he’s like, ‘Alex, I think I can go like 46 or 47.’”If Brady does really want to go all the way to 47, that means we could have another five years of the legendary Patriots signal-caller. Guerrero is one of Brady’s closest confidants, and he’s certainly in the know. During the interview, he also emphatically denied reports of tension between himself and the organization. Here’s more from around the league: * The fallout from the Browns/Steelers brawl isn’t going to get any crazier than it already is. Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph will not take legal action against Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network (Twitter link). Rapoport writes that “Rudolph considers the situation to be exclusively an NFL matter.” The fact that it was even a consideration underscores just how wild last night’s events were. Rudolph’s agent had even intimated on Twitter that they were seriously considering pursuing a lawsuit or prosecution. In case you somehow missed it, Garrett has been suspended indefinitely, while Maurkice Pouncey got a three-game ban and Rudolph was fined. * There’s been a lot of mystery surrounding Saturday’s Colin Kaepernick workout, and the last we heard at least 24 teams were slated to attend. Commissioner Roger Goodell apparently made the decision to have the workout without consulting his usual advisers, and made the call in an impromptu fashion. He obviously wants it to go off without a hitch, and is determined not to have it be a PR nightmare. To that end, a source told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com that there is “zero doubt the league office is twisting arms” to get teams to show up (Twitter link). The whole thing has been a bit bizarre, and the league has been accused by Kaepernick’s allies of setting it up for failure. * The league has switched course and said they won’t provide Kaepernick’s reps with a list of those attending, and Florio’s report would seem to indicate there won’t be many top decision-makers at the workout. It’s been unclear whether there would only be low-level scouts on-hand, but the Broncos at least seem to be taking it seriously. Denver is sending top pro scout Jordan Dizon to the workout, according to Mike Klis of Denver 9News. #AlexGuerrero #ColinKaepernick #DenverBroncos

SHEESH! NFL Star Myles Garrett Suspended Indefinitely For At Least Remainder Of The Season, Wild Game Fight Sparks Discussion On Punishment
Tumblr media
When one of the biggest stars on the Cleveland Browns snaps and goes beast mode in the worst way, it's definitely launching all the opinions and outrage. The super wild brawl between Myles Garrett & Mason Randolph and the drama around who WASN'T punished inside.
This was a whole mess.  Myles Garrett has officially been suspended indefinitely after snatching off Steelers' QB Mason Randolph's helmet - in the last 8 seconds of the game the Browns were very much winning - and attacking him on the head with it.
Garrett is suspended indefinitely, at minimum for the remainder of the regular season and postseason, and he must meet with the Commissioner's office prior to a decision on his reinstatement.
— NFL (@NFL) November 15, 2019
Browns DE Myles Garrett has been suspended indefinitely.
Browns DT Larry Ogunjobi has been suspended one game. Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey has been suspended three games.
In addition, Steelers and Browns organizations each fined $250,000. pic.twitter.com/tY6o5Ozjf2
— NFL (@NFL) November 15, 2019
The instant replays were jaw dropping.  Not because we've never seen an on field fight, but to see a fight go on once a helmet came off, AND someone intentionally go at someone's head with a helmet, was atypical.  It sparked plenty of questions about what could have possibly caused Myles - the poetry-writing, typically stand up star of the league who had everybody's attention in ESPN's Body Issue - to go this far.
What the initial instant replays showed was Myles snapping and ripping off Randolph's helmet after a sack.  Then while Myles was being held back by two Steelers and a ref, a helmet-less Randolph still went at Myles, and Myles went at his head with his helmet.
What later replays showed was a close up look at what happened at the bottom of the pile after the tackle, and before Myles ripped off his helmet.  It looks as though Mason tried to rip Myles, helmet off first, and Myles defended himself and finished the fight Mason started.
Regardless, most people are in agreement that regardless of who started it, the dangerous action of going at someone's bare head with a helmet is definitely punishable.  And with an extensive amount of punishment.  Most people didn't expect for the league to come down with an indefinite suspension, though.
People also didn't expect for Mason to seemingly get off scott-free, while he also is saying through his rep "he doesn't know yet" if he will file criminal charges.  The city of Cleveland is NOT investigating as of right now, though.
The NFL put out a statement less than 12 hours later saying two other players (who rushed the pair throwing punches, seemingly defend their QB) earned suspensions.  And both teams have been slapped with a $250,000 fee.  It's a historic punishment, for sure.
But, was it fair?  Outside of what the NFL rules deem fair, was this also judged fairly in the court of public opinion?  People cheer on hockey and baseball teams who literally brawl (with hockey sticks and pads) very often.  But there seems to be more judgment and respectability politics played when it comes to football and basketball players who are playing a high contact sport, getting into fights.
Check out Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman and more give their takes below.  Especially the take about the black NFL execs likely paying close attention to the perception created with this fight (involving a black player and a white QB) being on a constant loop everywhere - and the way they word their punishment.
So....a QB forgot he was...QB & got jacked with his own helmet cause he couldn’t get the other guys’ helmet off... I wonder what & who the commentator thought was Barbaric? #rhetoricalquestionfornoparticularreason

Myles Garrett with my Luke at his draft party. Luke was a freshman and teammate at A&M, and had to block Garrett as a scout team TE. Myles could not have been kinder to him. Intelligent, thoughtful young man who made a very bad split second decision. That is all. pic.twitter.com/8kRWuOZEH8

In all my life of football that might have been the craziest thing I have seen on a football field! They about to suspend Myles Garrett for 30 years! People getting stomped out, that was a hood fight! Hate to see that in our game that’s not what pro football is about!
— Reggie Bush (@ReggieBush) November 15, 2019
But I see why Pouncey went in like that!
— Reggie Bush (@ReggieBush) November 15, 2019
Yes Myles Garrett should be suspended but why isn’t Mason Rudolph getting a penalty here, too? Rudolph started the helmet pulling. Rudolph tried hard to pull Myles Garrett’s helmet off. Is that forgotten because he’s smaller? Or because he seems like the ultimate victim here?
— Touré (@Toure) November 15, 2019
Look here. Mason Rudolph 6'5 236 lbs. Dont act like Garrett was some hulk compared to him. Garrett deserved a suspension but cut the shit https://t.co/0imhjwBpeM
— Wee-Yum (@MrGee54) November 15, 2019
They’re going be some heavy suspensions. Garrett might get the rest of the season off. Pouncey gone a min of 4 gms. WTF was Garrett thinking?
— shannon sharpe (@ShannonSharpe) November 15, 2019
It's tough.  We get there def needs to be harsh punishment to make it known this behavior is completely unacceptable.  But, to say the other person involved is purely a victim is - a stretch. Some folk say Mason's hand "got stuck in Myles' helmet" and he was not trying to rip it off.
That's up for interpretation.  What's not up for interpretation is him going after Myles and continuing the fight even after he was helmetless.
Bottom line, the small chance the Browns had of making it to the playoffs has likely been cancelled, and Myles isn't allowed to play in any post-season games anyway.  He will have to get approval from commissioner Goodell before returning.
Apparently Mason will be fined, but not suspended:
The NFL will fine #Steelers QB Mason Rudolph for his role in last night’s brawl, I’m told.
