Pot of Desires: Good or Bad?

So this is my first YGO post. This is sad considering how long I’ve had this damn thing, but whatever. I think today is a good day just to get this off of my chest. Pot of Desires in the YGO meta rn is still being debated as a good card by some and a bad card by others. Well, my turn for a shitty opinion on this card.

Why players think it’s BAD: NO ONE who hates this card is willing to banish the top 10 cards of their Deck. FACE-DOWN at that. It’s an extreme greed case that seems to lack a lot more than the risk is worth to them. Pot of Greed seems to be farther and farther away from escaping the ban list to these players. And this card is a horrible attempt at trying to keep it out of the game play of today’s top players.

Why players think it’s GOOD: The “Banish the top 10 cards of your Deck, face-down” thing is not as bad as other players may think. It’s not like players are playing Desires right at the go. You play your turn and establish your board, THEN proceed to play Desires. Desires is more of a tech card than a required draw engine.

My opinion: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but PoD is a GOOD CARD. Players who are skilled enough with using the card know how to use it. And they know how to make the most out of the draw. I have witnessed players win games just off of a draw off of PoD. It’s an interesting card, and it’s kinda cool to see players find ways to work their way around a cost so steep as losing the top 10 cards of their deck face-down. Will I play it? Not in my decks, no. Is it good? Yes.
