Are there any rumours about January/February cast change in London? Do you know if there will be a new Christine?
The only rumour I have heard (in relation to Christine) is that Paige will leaving.
Which would kind of make sense if she signed a 12 month contract as that is when her one will finish.
I believe everyone else signed a 12 month one from July but some could have signed 6 months.
The only other person I think could leave is Jon, unconfirmed and I don’t know what his contract was and since he started in April it makes it a bit more confusing.

actually even more heartbroken about phantom broadway closing than I thought I would be
#POTO Broadway#my first url on tumblr was a poto lyric#it was really one of the first fandoms I properly engaged with - and certainly the first theatre fandom I was ever a part of#I still follow so many phantom accounts and I've watched so many people - cast and fans alike - have their lives changed by this show#and idk it's just fucking sad.#watching jeremy's videos? watching littlelottie make the wedding dress and see the last show?#I know a revival is extremely likely and I know I've never seen the bway production myself but it was and still is important to me.#godddd#theatre :(

Hello! I am a newcomer to POTO, and was introduced 3 days ago by deciding to randomly watch the 25 RAH. I fell so in love with the 25st cast, but especially and everlastingly with Hadley Fraser as Raoul. It was a little disheartening for me to realise that it wasn't a popular opinion, and when I found your tumblr, it was like finding a kindred spirit and even a wise elder spirit that showed me all the nuances I missed before. I must have read and adored each one of your Raoul posts - thank you.
(My apologies for the delayed response, this time of year is always so busy for me, and I've fallen behind!)
Hello, thank you for sending such a kind and thoughtful message! 🥰 I love to hear about new Phans falling in love with POTO RAH and Hadley's Raoul, and I'm glad my posts have resonated with you. I feel I've analyzed pretty much every moment of his on-stage time in that production, both in writing and in gifs, and you've summarized my thoughts very well here.
I really like how there is a distinct shift in Hadley's Raoul from act I to act II, from speculative but ultimately unbothered to fiercely protective and frustrated, almost in parallel with how we the audience are made aware of the steadily increasing threat the Phantom is becoming. His Raoul is charming but genuine and sweet in his first few scenes, and I agree his mannerisms at the end of the show are quite different from the young man we were introduced to in Little Lotte. His lines in the final lair are soaked in desperation and anger, especially his "Let me see her!" and "Why make her lie to you to save me?"
It's important to remember that the staging/blocking for POTO RAH is very different from the original - I'd argue it's much more organically emotional for all three of the characters. While many of the changes were made out of necessity for how the RAH stage was set up, the impact of the altered staging to the scene is undeniable. Some examples being the Phantom holding Christine by the throat, the prolonged doomed trek that Raoul has to make across the stage to ultimately be caught in the lasso, and the visual of Christine climbing down and back up the stairs of the Phantom's "hell" one last time to say goodbye.
Combine that with the fact that Ramin, Sierra, and Hadley all have very high-strung interpretations of their characters to begin with, it doesn't surprise me that Hadley's Raoul culminated in practically lunging at the Phantom at the end of the final lair. I think a lot of it had to do with Ramin and Hadley's chemistry, too, and while it is very different from most productions I ultimately feel that it works.
I think the point I'm trying to make in all of this is that POTO RAH was a very special production, with a remarkable cast in a unique situation that has left a lasting impression on me and many Phans. I really love to hear how special this production and these actors are to you, thanks for reaching out! 💕

Welcome all, to the Phantom of the Opera AvA AU!
Fans of Alan Becker's incredible animations, as well as any who have ever seen the masterpiece that is Phantom of the Opera, I welcome you to this blog!
This world is still very much in the making, and I'd like to involve the AvA community as much as possible!!
That means I am asking for suggestions, requests, your involvement and interaction, because this world is for you!
Now, let's get to the primary information we have so far, starting with the cast!
The main characters of the ava will be taking the place of the main cast, but fear not! Should you want any of your oc's in this world, and now fear that they'll be hardly featured, let me put that to rest!
As this is an au, I want to keep the phantom of the opera vibes and main idea of course, but I also want to make changes, to help fit with ava better, to add more events involving the minor characters, and so forth!
This ask box will be open for suggestions or requests of that like, Indefinitely!
Now! I shall have my questions for you, after the Cast Listing we have so far!
Main Cast:
(PotO character: which stick will have that role)
Christine: Dark
Raul: Chosen
Phantom: Corrupted!Victim
The new theatre owners: King and Purple (Purple in this au will be about half King's age, in his mid twenties, with King in his forties)
That elder lady who tries to keep the others out of danger and knows the phantom: Second
The retiring theatre owner: Redwood(corn dog guy)
The Color Gang are part of the performance crew
Investor in the theatre that hangs around: Victim
OC cast roles so far:
Prima Donna: Savage
Second's secret daughter/eyes and ears: Fallen (referred to often as Effsie)
Prima Donna's minion: Cherry
Meg: Shin
Conductor: TTB
Background stage crew member #5: TLB
Background stage crew member #2: Yimbo
Performer/singer #6: Luna (TSL)
Backgound stage crew member #7: Heavy
Performer/singer #8: Light
That one guy who's somehow always lucky enough to miss or be missed by any damage: Greg
And that's all we have so far! If you'd like your oc to be in this, and or if you have a role/new role in mind, please please please ask me! I'd love to include them!
Now!
There are things about the au that haven't been settled or decided yet! I would love your help to decide these things, or to get new questions to answer!
Is there a major change we should make to this au to fit the theme? (For example, i found an rotg fic that changed the main theme from singing, to dancing, and there were many things that were different because of that, but it still felt like a phantom of the opera thing)
This one isn't as much of a major change, but should Chosen and Dark be brothers, or shipped? (I'll make a poll for this tbh)
What are some new events or scenes i could add to feature the ocs more? I already have ideas for a cast party scene :D
SPOILERS BELOW
Currently, I have C!Victim as a glitched stick, which is what earned him people seeing him as a freak, like phantom was in the thing. Is this a good idea? Should I change anything and are there any specifics I could do?
I want Dark to have some kind of cool and useful glitch that is really neat, but the mere fact of having a glitch is why Alan sent him to this performance theatre, as well as the reason for C!Victim's obsession with him. It would be something that would enhance him when performing in some way. What are some ideas y'all have for what it could be?
Since there is a Corrupted Victim, I want to have a non Corrupted victim that is more like some of the gentle phantom interpretations. I'm considering having him be some kind of investor in the theatre that is always hanging around. Is this a good role for him, and what could be a reason for there being two victims?
Alan would just be this larger than life background memory of a character that never makes an appearance, but is referenced when that scene of Dark and Chosen are talking about the past, when it is mentioned that he sent Dark away all that time ago. Should I do anything more with him?
And that is all I have so far!
Please spread this around to your ava friends or mutuals, as hopefully this will be a whole community thing!

When was Sarah Brightman’s last show in London?
Marcus Tylor, Steve Barton's dress and also a fantastic backstage photographer, writes in his publication that:
"...Dave Willetts replaced Michael Crawford as the Phantom on Monday 12th October 1987. (...) Michael Ball was the new Raoul, Sarah Brightman stayed on with the show in London for another week before she too would depart for Broadway"
Note that Sarah Brightman had technically already left the West End production, but she came back for some final shows for the first cast change. For her very last West End performance, both Marcus Tylor, Getty Images and her unofficial fabclub write that it was October 17, 1987. The official farewell party was one week later, on October 24.

Audio Comparison: Current POTO West End Cast, "The Mirror"
Thanks to @or-what-you-will, Master.
One of the brilliant things about Phantom is if you change any of the three principals, you get a different show Here is a side by side of "The Mirror" scene, each with a principal and a first cover. IMHO, the real scene stealer here is you can hear an eagerness in Lily's voice, especially at "enter at last, master."
Eve's been with the show a while and has been promoted to first cover, and James Gant has been an unofficial alternate for nearly a year it seems, so you have some very experienced understudies alongside the principals.
Full Audios for trade.

Gotta ask.. do you have any cast change rumors you can share from London? It’s that time again!🥲
As far as confirmed, there's Lily de-la-Haye, Grace Hume, Eve Shanu-Wilson, and Tim Southgate.
In terms of rumors, I have heard Jon might be leaving. And there is the debate on whether Chumisa will depart or just take a temporary leave of absence. Otherwise, things have been pretty quiet. Seeing as that's only five people, and I have heard this is likely to be a bigger cast change, I imagine several others are departing as well.
#i have not heard anything but i feel like maybe another one or two principals might leave?#francesca matt and adam have been there 3 years now#not that there haven't been people who stayed longer#poto cast change
