Post-Blip Masterlist
As if no one were watching (ao3) - FeatherWriter11 steve/natasha G, 1k
Summary: When Steve sees Natasha dance for the first time, he was acutely aware of the fact that he shouldn’t be watching at all.
A small drabble about Natasha and Steve after the blip.
Broken But Mending (ao3) - Hale13 G, 2k
Summary: Growing up hearing stories about gas rationing in the seventies did nothing to prepare Tabitha for the realities of a broken world that was crumbling a little more each and every day.
chugwater (ao3) - deluxemycroft G, 4k
Summary: A bartender watches the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye share silence and drinks.
Electric Love (ao3) - seekrest peter/ned G, 1k
Summary: “I can’t quit the play,” Peter finally says, throwing him out of his thoughts, “We’re doing it together, man.”
“No,” Ned explains, “MJ and I are doing it together. You can’t even make it to practice on time.”
Peter frowns, Ned immediately going to amend it when Peter sighs and says, “You’re right. I’m sorry, dude. I know this was supposed to be our thing…”
“It’s fine,” Ned’s quick to say, shaking his head. “I know you’ve been busy.”
Peter’s frown deepens at that, looking back to Ned with an unreadable expression on his face as he says, “Not too busy for you.”
From the Ashes (ao3) - MrToes clint/laura T, 458k
Summary: Shortly after the Blip, a family from Missouri struggles to find a new balance amongst the chaos. While confronting their own demons, the Bartons are forced to face off against a curious individual with a strange agenda; one which may have implications for everyone on Earth.
hold onto me (i'm a little unsteady) (ao3) - atlantablack sam/bucky E, 4k
Summary: “Could you feel it?” Sam asks softly. “When we came back, watching your body put itself back together, could you feel it?”
He clenches his fists, bites down on the automatic denial. “Fuck, yeah. It felt like, like being stitched up, or like, I don’t know, like…” he shivers, doesn’t know how to explain the burn, the way he’d felt his bones knitting themselves together, the veins flowering through him, his own blood rushing through his body. The way it’d been an eternity of too much and then over in a blink, back to normal, whatever the hell normal was.
Sam’s hand wraps around his wrist, tight enough he can feel the bones shift. “Yeah,” he says hoarsely. “Yeah, it felt like that.”
Home in Your Heart (ao3) - seekrest, velociraptorerin sarah/bucky T, 7k
Summary: “Hey, just checking in. Just made it to California,” Sam says over the phone, “boys are asleep but I thought I’d call now before they wake up and start screaming about Disneyland.”
“They’re screaming at you?” Sarah asks with a frown, hearing Sam’s laugh and seeing Bucky politely try not to pay attention— the thought occurring to her in the back of her mind that she doesn’t really know anything about this man or what kind of “powers” he’s supposed to have as Sam continues.
“No, they’re good. Just— excited is all. Anyway, how’s everything?”
Sarah looks up from the phone back to Bucky, a smile on his face that just makes her smile in return.
“Well…”
I tamagot-chu (if you tamagot-me) (ao3) - niniblack G, 4k
Summary: Ned shoved a bright purple tamagotchi into Peter’s hands.
“What is this?” Peter asked.
“That’s Karen.”
Peter looked between Ned and the tamagotchi. “What?”
“I ran out of room on the external drive,” Ned said.
Peter blinked at the tamagotchi. A tiny circle with a face was bouncing around the screen. There was a little pixelated skull in the corner. “You downloaded Karen onto a tamagotchi?”
Keeping Up Appearances (ao3) - pouringinsheets M, 877
Summary: After the blip, Sam and Bucky try to keep going – together and apart.
Not Like I'm Counting the Days (ao3) - yammz sam/bucky, kate/america E, 13k
Summary: Sam takes a deep breath, then nods, and Bucky feels like he just stumbled upon the combination for a lock that he hadn’t known was there. Sam nods as though he’s making the decision right then and there that this is happening, that they’re actually going to hook up instead of just talking about it. Maybe he is actually making that decision right then. He looks Bucky in the eyes. “Tomorrow, I’m being named Captain America.”
(The one where Bucky starts casually dating Captain America)
Nurturing (ao3) - The_Buzz pre sam/bucky T, 3k
Summary: Bucky isn't the only one who feels alone after coming back from the Blip.
Ripple Effect: Return (ao3) - Awakening5 mj/peter T, 14k
Summary: He takes a deep breath, trying to find the words he needs her to understand, and praying he can say it right. But, staring at her face, beautiful and stony and so, so, sad, he can only remember the words she’d told him so often. Words she’d thought he needed to hear.
“You told me so many times that you can handle whatever came our way.” He pauses when her face falls. He lifts his hand to brush her hair back, letting his fingers linger. “It’s okay if you can’t handle this, Michelle.”
-
Peter returns to a world he doesn’t quite recognize. New home, new loss, new responsibility. Five years is a long time when it’s no time at all.
Rolling Fake Dice (ao3) - abcd_em mj/peter M, 30k
Summary: "Could have sworn you had a curfew at some point." Her dad chirps from the couch with a book resting in his lap.
"You two picked the wrong person to stand guard if you're trying to enforce that again." She replies.
His shoulders don't shake how she thought they might. It's hard to know how the jokes that used to be fair game might land now. Before the blip, teasing about the unconventional (at points, lack of) parenting Tony had adopted through the years had been fair game. Sarcasm and prodding tender spots with humour was always how she and her dad had communicated best.
After the Blip, that doesn't feel as true anymore. The boundaries have changed and she doesn't know enough about what happened in those days to be sure of where the line has been drawn.
She Doesn't Care (ao3) - KatinaMoon peter/mj G, 3k
Summary: MJ hugs her book tightly to her chest, keeping her eyes slammed shut. She doesn't care about prom. It's a stupid, outdated social convention that perpetuates gender stereotypes and worships the idea of virginhood.
She definitely doesn't care that Peter hasn't asked her to go.
The End of a Movie (ao3) - abcd_em G, 1k
Summary: After so many goodbyes that had stacked on top of each other – returning to a world both five seconds and five years after she’d left it, half her classmates already graduated - so many moments left behind and so much time taken, it’s nice to know that this feeling she has now extends past how she’s feeling now and she can follow it back to another time and she can pinpoint it exactly.
This'll be the day that I die (ao3) - sarcasmsinfinite T, 3k
Summary: The Avengers had saved the world.
So why did it feel like Yelena’s was ending?
…
Or where Yelena tries to make sense of an immediate post-blip world, and learns of her sister’s fate.
time & spaces. (ao3) - thesemovingparts pre mj/peter T, 54k
Summary: “We don’t feel guilty for other people’s choices,” Rhodey reminds her sternly. “We don’t feel guilty when other people love us.”
“Do you know how many people’s lives are going to be ruined by this?” Michelle asks, tears prickling at her eyes, harsh edge going soft with hurt.
“Do you know how many people’s lives are better now just for having you around again?” he argues.
“It’s selfish.”
“It’s family, kid,” Rhodey says. “That’s all any of it is.”
OR: "irondad but make it MJ"-- Post-Blip Meta Edition
To Make it Through (ao3) - EnteeTea mj/peter T, 3k
Summary: "Five years is a long time," Peter says quietly, and it's obvious she supposes, but, at the same time, it's not.
Five years didn’t feel like a long time until it was stolen from them.
The moments after the Decimation was undone. Set right after Endgame, and briefly covers Far From Home. MJ POV.
When the Dust Settles (ao3) - OllieCollie G, 1k
Summary: The battle and subsequent victory over Thanos and his army is only the beginning of the fight for Steve Rogers.
you should know i'll be there for you (when the world's not perfect) (ao3) - shrinkthisviolet mj/peter, minor emma/gayle T, 4k
Summary: Processing the Blip was already enough on its own for Michelle, without the introduction of Elemental monsters simulated by a crazed, power-hungry madman who then revealed her boyfriend's secret superhero identity to the world and thus drove him to open the literal multiverse.
Maybe she was oversimplifying. But it turned out, knowing the X-Men was a crash course in preparing for the absolute weirdest shenanigans, so aside for some fear for her life, she’d say she was handling this pretty well.
Maybe.
